Alicia is SO WONDERFUL! She always has a positive attitude and not only takes great care of my elderly Mom, but she notices other things that might help her out. She is so gentle, caring and amazing at her job. I wish she could be my Moms Nurse forever!

Over the past few years, I have had to look for home care services for several (elderly) loved ones. It really can be a grueling, rather worrisome process. You wonder if those youve entrusted with your loved one is reliable, truly caring and compassionate, as well as trustworthy. I cannot express how wonderful Alicia from Brightstar is. From the moment we met her, we had good feelings about the agency. Alicia has a magical flair for making us feel that we picked just the right person for our mothers care.

Alicia Pottratz has done an amazing job of taking care of my father. Not only does she take care of his medical needs she is also a very talented cook and keeps him company. She makes the best lasagna he has ever had. This has been a lonely time for many seniors that cant get together safely with family. Its rare to find a nurse that not only knows the medication but enjoys spending time with the people she takes care of. Be sure to ask for Alicia.

We have been utilizing Brightstar Care for several months now to provide assistance for my mother and they have been excellent. The caregivers we have had have been friendly, well trained, attentive, and hard working. The Brightstar Community Liaison, Ursula, has been excellent as well. She is very responsive and professional, provides excellent suggestions, and seems to genuinely care about providing my mother with quality care and ensuring her needs are met. We highly recommend Brightstar.

Going with Brightstar was the most wonderful choice I could have made. Alicia is one of the kindest people I have met. Our situation was a very difficult one and she came to our service with love, empathy, professionalism and understanding. Alicia was resourceful, patient and thorough. What a wonderful blessing my Brightstar Care nurse, Robin, is with every visit! She has been the perfect blend of skilled competence & thoughtful compassion I could ask for. Whenever I have any questions, problems or difficulties, both she & Brightstar have worked out all issues to my highest expectation as well as taken initiative to prevent any untoward outcome. Robin is the best nurse I’ve ever had! You will not be disappointed.

Alicia Pottratz was amazing. She and BrightStar staff provided AMAZING care and support for my parents during an extremely difficult transition out of their home of 50 years, through Escondido for a wedding and then across the country to a new home. Despite my mothers Alzheimer and my parents being difficult, Alicia and staff were always positive, respectful, friendly, helpful, supportive and caring to my parents and our family. My family was very fortunate to be in their care.

How can you put a price on a photo like this? Without John, Sheryl, Robin and the entire BrightStar team Art and Betty would have NEVER made it through the valley of darkness to see this bright day. Dad celebrated his 91st birthday last August, and Betty is 89, still sharp as a tack, full of laughter and joy. Thank you BrightStar!!

My mom has been living at La Vida Real in El Cajon and we have had Bright Star provide her assistance in the morning and again in the evening. The caretakers are friendly, caring a professional. Alicia has provided expert advice from a nursing stand point and Yasmin has helped by being a liason with the caretakers (even after hours)! I can not say enough good things about this company.

I am a nurse case manager and needed an agency to provide home care services for a client. I have had many years of experience in working with home care agencies, and Brightstar in Escondido is the best experience I have had.The branch manager, Alicia, is fantastic. There are no words to describe her level of dedication, professionalism and caring. She not only coordinated the staffing and provided professional oversight for the aides, but she covered many shifts herself.The daytime LVN, Jessica, also provided the highest level of professional and compassionate care. BrightStar caregivers worked with my 96 year-old mother for more than a year in a round-the-clock service to her. During our visits with my mother, we were impressed by their attentiveness and care, making sure she was always comfortable and received what she needed to get through another day. Mr. Klearman and his administrative oversaw her care team ensuring that they had the supplies and medical support to make the caregivers work with my mother the best it could be. The caregivers, through compassion and concern for her well-being became her trusted friends when we could not be present. They also worked closely with the hospice team in the last days of her life to ensure she was comfortable and pain free. I highly recommend BrightStart Rancho Bernardo to anyone faced with the decision of getting elder care for a family member. They met and exceeded my expectations.

Brightstar has been a Godsend!Living in Idaho puts me 1000+ miles away from my 90 year old Mother. Her cognitive decline, combined with advanced kidney disease, has resulted in the necessity for me to completely take over control of her business and medical issues. This has been a difficult situation, to say the least, to gain control of.Thanks to Brightstar, transportation to appointments or anything else is provided.Brightstar also provided a wonderful nurse named Alicia. She visits Mom twice a week to manage her medications, check her blood pressure, provide much needed counseling and advice from a female. Alicia just called me and spent an hour on the phone with me discussing my Mother and her situation. It doesn’t get any better than that!Thanks to her, I now have some much needed peace of mind. Her professional, meticulous, reliable help and advice is priceless to me.Brightstar’s customer service is nothing but outstanding. I can email or call their dispatcher Yazmin directly with any services required. Her manager Matthew will answer his phone and solve almost any need that you may require.Again! I dont have enough positive adjectives to describe how happy I am with Bright Star Care, Ursula Faison and Jocelyn! Ursula is very attentive to the needs of my dad, who is not an easy man to please at all. Ursula has gone out of her way to make sure that my dad has what he needs. He wont admit how much he needs extra care, so having Ursula there on site where my dad lives is so unbelievably helpful. His CNA Jocelyn has been beyond fantastic, as my dad is very particular with who he wants working with him. I am so thankful for everything that they have done. And the fact that they have teamed up with Waltham Clinic where we can get doctors to come right to my dads door is a game changer. Thank you Bright Star Care!!!

I was looking for care for my parents that live in the El Cajon area and came across BrightStar Care. I called their office and they made the process very easy for us. They sent Matthew out to our home within hours for a free in home assessment. My dad has dementia and it’s been very difficult on my mom. I’ve been using their services for about a month now and so far the owner, staff and caregivers have been very attentive to my parents needs and schedules. My mom absolutely loves the caregivers that have been helping my dad. I highly recommend BrightStar care for all your home care needs.

I would highly recommend Brightstar. From the first day we met the owner, John, while evaluating in home health care providers he and his team consistently met every commitment they made to us. From designing the care program and schedule with us, ensuring the 24/7 staffing including meeting all our staffing requests without question and delivering their services with care and compassion ; we were very lucky to have such a dedicated team in such a challenging situation for our family. The team coordinated well with us and was very communicative. Robin, the head RN was in regular communication to providing regular updates or making us aware of changes. It was a pleasure to work with the BrightStar team, we feel very fortunate to have had them on our team. They were like part of our family. Again I would highly recommend BrightStar. Thank you.

How we wish we hadnt argued with our mom when she decided to leave assisted living to return home! She was referred to Brightstar and their kind and helpful caregivers gave her the independence and friendship that allowed her to live at home. Lisa even discovered an allergy to one of my moms prescriptions, something the doctor or I did not pick up on! Let them help you and your loved one.

Dealing with my Grandmother was becoming more and more difficult. We tried taking of her ourselves but were not equipped for the level of care she needed. As her mind has slipped she has become a different person. Alicia Pottratz had the patience, understanding and expertise to handle someone in my mothers condition. My parents had mainly CNAs and a few Caregivers from BriteStar of Escondido for about two years. John Klearman, one of the owners, was always available and helpful ensuring that services were continual, to the high standard we required and that BriteStar was able to react to changing needs on a short time frame. Because of my mothers complicated illness, we required CNAs for several months, then round the clock and each CNA took excellent and compassionate care of my mother.When we had any issue or concern about a particular person caring for my mother (due mainly to that person not being a good fit and only on a few occasions was the person not fully trained/qualified for our needs), John had that person replaced without question. There were only a few instances when a member of his staff was sick or not available and I had to step in to fill a gap in service.My fathers needs were less demanding, but the CNA assigned to him was an absolute Godsend....She kept him happy, well fed, active and alive! The house was immaculate.The CNAs were trustworthy, helpful and communicative. They absolutely enhanced my parents lives and made them very happy. We considered each CNA a part of our extended family.BriteStar of Escondido is easy to work with and responsive to all your concerns - whether they be service or health related. We chose them after using other companies and found BriteStar of Escondido to be the best for our needs. You will not be disappointed.

This place really doesn’t care about their military employees. When I came back from basic, I asked them if I can get back on the schedule they stated that HR was going to reach out to me I believe her name was Marisol and I never received a call back, email, or text. Do not work for this company if they can’t take care of their troops what makes you think they will take care of you?
