Bream Optometry is inside the Goleta Costco Optical Dept.I have been going there since 2018 for annual eye exams. It is truly a neighborhood gem worth checking out. The staff is helpful, friendly, and efficient in scheduling appointments and working with your insurance if needed.DR Cory Bream is outstanding, knowledgeable, and thorough, offering essential information about the overall health of your eyes. She answers questions, offering clear explanations and helpful suggestions.Also notable is that their fees are affordable. I always benefit from these appointments.

The only concern I have is their customer phone answering message. The message states they will get back to you within 24 hours, with no indication that they check their messages with any particular regularity. This left me, with an urgent question an hour before my appointment, feeling upset. Had they insured callers that they check for messages every so many times per hour, that could have helped a lot.Otherwise, my experience with the Bream Optometry at Costco in Goleta was very favorable. Dr. Monica Luong was impressive in her knowledge for the eye care I need, and very pleasant and efficient as she examined my eyes. I am now very happy to be one of her patients.

Dr Bream saved my eyesight.She is passionate about her work and genuine about your wellbeing. I sought Dr Bream out knowing she would listen to my concerns and provide real answers to questions. Just weeks before seeing Dr Bream I had a check up with an optometrist for obvious eyesight complaints. This person did not really listen to my concerns and basically blew me off pushing me through the door as fast as she could sit another patent in the chair. This kind of care was unsettling knowing something was wrong. That’s when I reached out to Dr Bream. It didn’t take long for Dr. Bream to identify the severity of my situation, mind you this was a Friday afternoon. She went out of her way to personal contact a specialist so I could be seen immediately. In doing so emergency surgery was scheduled for the very next day Saturday so that my sight may be saved. I would say Dr. Bream is sincere when it comes to the welfare of her patients. I’m fortunate to have Dr. Bream as my optometrist and I imagine all her patients feel the same way.

Remarkable service, terrific staff, exceptional diagnosis from Dr. Bream! I lost my only pair of glasses during a hiking accident on Memorial Day weekend. I couldn’t dive back to San Francisco without my glasses, so I was a walk-in to this office in COSTO. They were very helpful, and squeezed me into their already full calendar. The optometrist was very efficient and gave me more information about the health of my eyes than I have ever received from other optomitrists. She also recommended that I switch contacts to a different brand. Result: my distance visionIs the best its been in years. Even though I live a six hour drive away, I will try to make her my primary optometrist. She is an exceptional professional and a good manager of people!

I have had Toxoplasmosis since birth. I am left with huge floaters and some peripheral issues. Recently I broke my trusty frames and it was beyond time for a check up. Bream was beyond amazing. Efficient, professional., stellar customer service and highly educated. I was examined, we discussed my condition and the fact that I have 70 yr old eyes. I found myself to be in much better shape than expected. I will go there again and definitely recommend them!!

Corey Bream is fast, warm, competent and knowledgeable. After my latest eye exam I consulted with an optician about why I see double from the top third of my current glasses, and he said its not an error with the way my glasses were made; it could be my prescription. So I went back to Dr. Breams office and was able to ask her about it between her next patients, and all it took was 3 or 4 minutes for her to assess that I have a slight divergence of my eyes when Im looking upwards at faraway objects. EyeMed should put her in their network!

It had been twenty years since my last eye examination. Technology has greatly improved!I had a terrific experience in Dr. Breams Office. It was incredibly efficient and educational. I had all the attention I needed and I especially appreciated the visit did not conclude until I had no further questions. Then I received my script and a receipt and was good to go.I abhor big box stores and would not have considered an ophthalmologist inside a Costco. A friends made the appointment for me. But during my exam, I forgot all about my location and did not think about it again until I walked out of her office back into Costco. I should be more open minded!

I needed an eye exam as I felt my vision was slipping a bit so I went to visit my local OD, Cory Bream. After leaving I realized why Ive been going back for close to a decade. As I walked into the office (it was a very busy day) Cory was assisting an elderly woman with her wheel chair. Before seating the woman she let her know she had locked the wheels and that she could lean on her. I was very touched by her kindness as this was a very rare site to see. In the middle of helping her she managed to ask me if I had been greeted by the staff which I had been. While waiting for my turn the staff managed quite well for the amount of patients that were there. They gave me a few different eye tests and were very personable(not just your normal take care of business so we can get you out of here in a hurry atmosphere). I appreciated the quality time. After that I saw Cory, the consummate professional. She has a superlative attention to detail and yet puts you at ease with her down to earth conversational style. In the end I needed glasses and started wearing them this very same afternoon and am truly relieved that my vision was taken care of in a timely, courteous and professional manner by all involved. As a former Retail Manager I can attest to the highest quality of care by Cory Bream OD and staff.

The office has very competent staff and the latest equipment for optometry. I appreciate being able to see a picture of my retina and be able to catch any early signs of problems. In addition to the normal vision test, they also do a peripheral vision test. Not something I have seen before, but it feels like a good thing to be aware of. The optometrist, Dr. Crews was friendly and helpful. Great experience!

Fantastic service and great professional staff. I had an amazing experience at Bream Optometry. The front office staff dealt with my insurance so quickly and knew exactly what was going on. The optometrist was really professional and spent a lot of time explaining my changing eyesight to me. I got all my eyeglass and contact prescriptions as I left. I didnt even need to ask for them! I am definitely going to stick with Bream Optometry from now on.

I am an established customer. A few days ago something happened to my left eye. I waited to see if it would go away on its own. Finally I decided to have a doctor look at it. I called and the staff was so helpful, they told me to come in immediately and they would fit me in even though all the day’s appointments were booked. I went in, was seen right away, the doctor diagnosed the issue, and thoroughly explained it to me. Everyone there was wonderful.

I visited the office on 12.14.12 around 4:30 pm.I have a negative review to write not because of the doctor in this office - the doctor was professional as expected but because of the receptionist. She was the most impolite receptionist I have ever met. I would say she had some personal dislike for me because my husband has good impressions from her. I dont say that she has to show great affection, but she should stay professional and help customers with answering to their questions politely and not acting as she is bothered with some unimportant chat. I was having an insurance related question and if she is a good receptions (which she is not) she should try to answer my question or if she doesnt know the answer, she should politely say so without demonstrating to me her irritation. Also she is very children unfriendly. She was clearly annoyed by my two toddlers (who are good kids but like every toddler they toddle a lot) and she didnt make any effort to hide it. I had to run to the office because it was sort of an emergency situation. I didnt have time to arrange a babysitter, thats why I just grabbed my kids and headed to the office. Instead of understanding I got hostility, which you wouldnt expect from an office that accepts emergency cases. In future I will try some other office. Too bad because I am a great fan of Costco!

I have been coming to Bream Optometry for about 10 years or so and I keep coming back for a reason. Accessible hours, affordable out-of-pocket costs for exams and visits (since my Vision insurance stinks), good service, knowledgeable doctors, up-to-date equipment for vision testing, and good overall experience. I have some high risk factors for my eyes due to family history, and now have early glaucoma. I feel confident that my eyes are well looked after by Drs. Bream and Anderson.

Lets be honest - we dont know how good the optometry experience is going to be at a clinic inside a big box store (Costco). Well, Ive been to a few optometrists in my day, and thanks to my decreasing insurance coverage, this was an affordable option. Bottom line: The best experience Ive ever had. I had an appt and never waited to get in. Dr. Carter Anderson and his professional staff couldnt have been more thorough, attentive and polite. They not only gave me a complete eye test, but checked for signs of cataracts and glaucoma. I received a free test pair of contacts and my follow up appt will not be charged for. All in all, an excellent experience. I couldnt recommend them more.
