2023-11-22 19:49:41Our experience with Brauer Insurance was horrendous. We chose them for our small business healthcare insurance plan. We rarely require anything of our insurance broker. However, on the few occasions when we did, dealing with Bonnie Brauer was unnecessarily tedious. Any request was met with an attitude as if they didn’t want to do anything but sit back and collect a commission. Bonnie was often unresponsive to email. We would have to finally email her father, Steve Brauer, in order to get her to respond. After dealing with this behavior and push back for several years, we decided to change brokers. In the midst of this process Bonnie made a mistake on a new enrollee effective date. Bonnie had asked what date to enroll the employee and we confirmed the date by email. She responded and then enrolled the employee incorrectly a month earlier. When we reached out about it she refused to correct her mistake citing that she was no longer our broker and she had no responsibility to fix her mistake. This was mid-month and I pointed out that she was still our broker until the beginning of the following month. She still refused to fix her error in. To date we are still dealing with this issue and the employee she incorrectly enrolled has to pay a months worth of back dated health insurance premiums, as does our company, due to her mistake. The insurance company has been notified of the error by the agency and the retaliatory response. I emailed her to let her know that I would be sharing our experience and she encouraged us to do so. I am certain she will have her own response as she has proven herself to be vindictive.For what it’s worth, I am a business owner who has been in business for decades and I have never dealt with someone like this in my entire career. There are many insurance brokers to choose from. As they are commissioned directly by the insurance company, there’s no advantage to choose one over the other. It all comes down to the service you receive. And if you want adequate service, this is an agency that would best be avoided.

They came in and were very knowledgeable regarding the new ACA laws and attentive to our needs. Steve and his family are very easy to work with and everyone is very helpful, even on weekends!They go over and beyond what a broker should do and its been a tremendous help since being on maternity leave during our benefits renewal. They listen to what you want and make suggestions based on your needs. Options you wouldnt have otherwise tried because you didnt have the knowledge before. Family owned and operated, they treat their clients like family and always have your best interest in mind, vs. a larger carrier who may just care about making a buck. They offer personalized attention and assistance in navigating all of the sticky and tricky new changes for healthcare. It can be a very confusing process, but Brauer Insurance makes it easy and does the navigating and research for you. I highly recommend them and it is always a pleasure to work with Steve!

Steve is deeply knowledgeable about the new Affordable Care Act, has taken - and I understand now has given - many seminars on the subject.Steve asks great questions, truly wants to understand priorities (costs vs needs) and pulls from all he knows to offer the best options. He is great to work with and I would recommend him highly!
