Fantastic selection and nice atmosphere. They have really tall bookshelves which gives the feeling of going deep into almost a forest of books, I quite enjoyed it. Also the handwritten book reviews by the staff were really nice and helpful (I found a new manga series due to the reviews😁).

Awesome, fun, and engaging meet and greet yesterday with the first ever female UFC hall of famer Ronda Rousey. A true pioneer of the MMA world for female athletes. Was super excited to meet Ronda. There were a lot of WWE fanatics there as well. Her fan base is truly large. I was just honored to be able to meet someone who was born in my city of Riverside, California, and was able to accomplish many great things. Was a huge fan of hers from the time she was in StrikeForce. I was actually in attendance at UFC 157 in Anaheim when she merged the StrikeForce belt into the new UFC female Bantamweight title in 2013.Check out this book store for all their celebrity book signings, or simply want to purchase the latest magazine or a good book to read. Standing in line, i saw some great stuff available, a Hunter S. Thompson, James Baldwin, and a new David Bowe book. I was particularly surprised to find this Sun Ra book. Definitely will return !Thanks for having us!

Nice curation of books. Great place to stop! I was drawn to a gorgeous hardcover and it happened to be an LGBTQ+ book. Seems like there was a good selection of LGBTQ+ fiction there, which is important to me. Nice non-book items as well. Just overall a fun browsing (and buying) experience.

As one of the largest general interest independent bookstores in SoCal, it’s no wonder that my only real critique is the overwhelm I feel whenever I come in. There are so many stacks of books over so many different genres, I could spend all day perusing here and never tire of it! I could also go bankrupt buying all the books I want to! But that’s not Book Soup’s fault. I like the variety of the magazine supply outside and the vibe of the interior. I also appreciated the opportunity to add a book on at check out to donate to a children’s literacy org. It’s so important to get kids to fall in love with reading early on!

I was in a panic because I needed a book for an event at the last-minute after UPS failed to deliver on time. The staff at Book Soup went above and beyond fulfilling my request to order a gift-wrapped book at the last minute and talked me through the best way to get it delivered. And all of this was over the phone, as I was halfway across the country. They were patient, kind, and so accommodating.

Great bookstore! The staff were friendly and welcoming. The selection was good for the stores footprint, and they had a map to make searching easier. The have a smaller sale section, which has great books for cheap prices; nonetheless, the non-sale books had reasonable prices, too. You could spend hours in the store, and still have something worth perusing on a second visit.

My mom had her Book Signing and reading on the 27th this is actually the 2nd book she wrote and the 2nd time we had a Signing at Book Soup and we had a blast meeting new people and seeing family also. One of my favorite book stores on the planet. Full disclosure: I was looking for a mothers day gift and mines a reader, so I always check the recommendations and so far theyve never failed. A wide selection of all kinds, lots of gift ideas, vinyl and a large periodicals rack out front. Plus, youre on the iconic Sunset strip. Its also probably the most popular celebrity book signing store in the city. I also just like the vibe.

Dropped by as first time visitors to West Hollywood. Was a lovely place to escape to for a little while and browse a really well curated store. Service was great, both of the gentlemen we spoke to were very kind and let us use their washroom. (Which was clean!)My husband appreciated the art section and I found some goodies in the graphic novel section. Will definitely come back the next time we’re in the area.

Fabulous! I came across this treasure by chance. Outdoor of the shop is a wide and varied assortment of magazines. If you love books, the inside is heaven. Wide variety of books. Beautifully set up. You can easily spend your whole day here browsing everything from luxurious coffee table books to classics to current best-sellers. Had a great experience here for a special book signing event. Steven Rosen and friends were doing a reading and promoting his self-published book, Tone Chaser - Understanding Edward Van Halen. The staff were great... staying after hours during the pounding rain storms... but the event went on without a hitch! Great place to check out your next read... I got a signed copy... highly recommend stopping here on Sunset Blvd... if youre in the Hollywood area... dont miss this place!

I ordered a signed copy of a book. It took them a month before the status of the order was updated to ready to be shipped. It’s been two weeks since that update and the book still has not been shipped. I just don’t understand. This is awful. Especially since I ordered it as a gift for the holidays. Really excellent bookstore. Great, eclectic selection with some truly fine recommendations. I discovered a new author based on a recommendation they had posted and both my wife and I ended up loving the book and cant wait for this author to write again. Nice people, great location off Sunset. This was one of our destination spots when my family was staying on Sunset for a business trip. You can find parking in the back.

Looks like pretty small bookstore from the front, but its packed with shelves with a pretty good variety of books.Parking sucks on the main street as expected, but try behind the store or in the residential area.Lots of people probably know about Book Soup from talks/events and for good reason. They arent a big space and cant fit many people, but they are able to pull some pretty high level authors, celebrities, etc. to do talks & presentations as well as plenty of less known, but no less interesting authors, speakers.They tend to have new books, and I imagine rent in the area is high, so dont expect bargain basement prices like the local used book store. With that said, I recommend supporting this place. Theres a lot of good stuff there even not counting the talks, events.Service has always been very nice and very helpful, but if you want to be left alone, they seem cool with that too and dont hover over you.Support your local independent bookstore. Definitely beats the big name corporate chains we all know about.

Book Soup is my favorite bookstore. The first few times I visited, I had intended to just kill some time by browsing and I ended up with a heavy bag full of books. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful, and it adds to the great atmosphere and positive vibes. When I first entered Book Soup, it felt like a flashback to when I was a kid and I had to pick out a book for summer reading. I felt a genuine excitement as I roamed up and down each aisle. I love reading the staff picks and the reviews about books throughout the store. Some are thought provoking, others are chuckle inducing, but they all provide great information without giving up spoilers.The best part of Book Soup are the numerous author events that they hold. The authors will read an excerpt, answer a few questions, and then sign books. If you cant make it to an event, they generally will have extra signed copies you can purchase. Be sure to check their website frequently.

This is one of the best bookstores that I have ever been to and I cant recommend it enough! Both locals and tourists a like shop Book Soup. The bookstore has one of the largest selections that Ive ever seen of books - they have have a huge variety of rare, used and new books plus various gifts so theres really something here for everybody. Some books that Ive only seen sold online they have for sale here which is excellent. If you like to read actual books this is the place to go. A copy of Stephen Kings Outsider special UK edition was not being sold in the US but they managed to get it for me on backorder, something Amazon or other online retailers could never do. Even if the world were filled with book stores, youd want to make a trip or two or five to Book Soup. The place is magical. Even if youd never read a single book in your life, walking in the front door of this amazing place will make you want to read everything in sight. As soon as you walk in, its got an old world feel without losing sight of contemporary interests. And no matter the genre, youre likely going to find it. And if not, theyll order it for you. Plenty of public parking a block east on Sunset on the north side, plunk a couple of hours into the meter. Youre going to want to stay awhile.

I moved to Los Angeles 16 years ago and lived right up the hill from Book Soup. I remember exploring my new city but finding this place magical. Book Soup is one of those places that if you visit Los Angeles you should come and see and if you live in Los Angeles you must visit. The Book Soup Store on Sunset Blvd is an intimate environment that allows the typical book nerd to explore the aisles without caution. Dan and his staff are super accommodating. Although our family reside in the valley, the trip to the Sunset store is always worth the journey. You can tell Book Soup is worth their salt by the number of events on their calender. I go here every time I go to LA for a job. Its by far my favorite book store. Logos in Santa Cruz is a pretty close second. But yeah, check this place out and support it and yourself by buying a book.

I was honestly a little underwhelmed with Book Soup. Id spent a lot of time at used + new book stores in SF and appreciated those experiences much more. I did like how they promoted the authors whod signed + been advocates of the store, but in terms of selection and perusing... I was left wanting.

Great bookstore. Parking is behind the store - down the alley. I found it easier to just park on the street. They were filming a Bollywood movie when I was there, very respectful staff on both sides. :) I brought my dog with me and they were totally cool with letting us peruse their selection. Not only do they have books floor to ceiling, they also have a nice selection of cards for all occasions.No coffee shop in here, simply books. If you desire something to nosh I suggest you take a short walk up Sunset to Cafe Le Petit, outside seating and yes, theyll let you have fido by your side.In addition to loving a good read - I love ghost investigations! Sooooo, supposedly this place is haunted! Oooooooh!!!!! Okay, well I have to admit that when I was in there, there wasnt much of any hauntings happening. However with that said, I went in the middle of the day. Better luck next time :)

Book Soup also hosted a couple of signings with actor/poet Michael Madsen (who I publish) and they were very professional with press, interview requests and promotion of event. Great selection. Glad that they are open. Park and access the store from their rear parking lot to visit the store. May have to wait to a few minutes to enter, depending on how many guests are in the store. If you are stopping by just to pickup, then thats through the front door.
