I came in for service on my breaks. There was confusion about warranty coverage. Steven took the time to go through my paperwork and get in contact with my sales person. It ended up that my brakes were fine and the system just needed to be updated, which they did free of charge. It was a lovely experience!

Three issues with my recent visit:I paid a premium to have my car serviced at this dealer so I was very surprised to be told that if I wanted to pay with a credit card they would charge a 3% fee. Not a great practice for a “luxury” business.In addition to service I needed time with a “genius” (come on people it’s tech support!) to fix a display issue that I couldn’t resolve. An issue btw that occurred when I last had my car serviced here and someone changed the display. I was promised they’d meet with me when I picked the car up. When that time came I was told that of the 2 “geniuses” in that day one was at lunch and one was too busy “doing paperwork” to help me. It wasn’t until a service manager noticed how obviously frustrated I was that the tech support was miraculously available and the issue was resolved in less than a minute. How much easier would it have been to take the minute to help me in the first place?!I received the call that my car was ready but just being washed. I showed up 1 1/2 hours later and It was another half hour before the car was actually ready. Basic housekeeping to have the car actually ready or have a better idea of timing before informing the client.

Wow! Highly impressed with the level of service I received. It turned out to be a small issue, but my plan covered my car getting towed to the dealership to be check out. They delivered it back to me at home, clean and polished. They did the oil service while it was there as well.

I always have a pleasant experience here. Everyone is friendly, they offer rides if you don’t want to wait… the coffee in the waiting area is delicious and I’ve never felt bullied into getting “extra” work done. Of course it’s BMW so there’s always maintenance to be done or something that needs “cleaning” but if you don’t want a high maintenance car get a Honda.

I would give this dealer a negative star if i could! Worst dealership! Be careful! This is what happened to me:1: called them and told them i had a loan from my bank, i just need it a contract. This was my first time buying a car, when i walked in they took my loan paper and never gave it back to me, second they ran my credit without my permission and wrote me a loan trough bank of america with a way higher APR, and they said oh its just in case your bank don’t approve. Then they added this stupid GAP and extended insurance which was almost 7k on top of car loan. I got the shock of my life when i went back to my bank to pick up then check, my bank said we cant help you because the loan approval was lower than car price. I call them back to have a new contract and they wouldn’t help me, just ignored me. They knew what they were doing, adding all that stuff to get their bonus. Happened to me once, but never again.2. The car was being advertised online for $39,400 when i got thereThey said oh the car is really 44k because we added a coating and some stickers to protect doors. First the coating who knows if they added it, i never saw proof, and the lousy stickers to protect the doors that look like $5 dollars each. False advertising! I never told them to add this, they just claimed they added this stuff and charge me for it.Will never buy anything from them, first they seem the nicest people in the world when they’re selling you a car, once you sign everything, they will ignore you!Worst experience ever!!!!

My Service Advisor was Antonio Vital. Tony was great! He was very patient, knowledgeable, and informative. I had a complicated case, with many sensor fault warnings. Tony advised how to diagnose, and offered a course of action. He deserves a raise!

My son bought a car from San Luis BMW in February was the best experience we’ve ever had. They were absolutely amazing they went above and beyond for my son to get into this car. Mitch and Andrew were awesome. Could’ve done it without them and if anybody ever wants to purchase a car, I suggest you go to San Luis BMW because it was an experience of a lifetime. They are absolutely phenomenal the best customer service I’ve ever had.

Had to negotiate the $2k in paint protection away several times, final straw when dealer tried to renegotiate when I was in the middle of signing papers! You had me there and you blew it! *Never going back! Avoid this place! Bait & switch like all other recent reviews!*Last year I purchased a used Honda vehicle through the dealership. I was looking to trade in my vehicle on Kelly blue book and my info was given to BMW Slo who continuously called me and offered to buy me whatever I wanted from Starbucks and insisted on me coming down just to look around. They seemed very kind. I wasn’t sure about going with this dealership, but they sold me on the used Honda they were “trying to get rid of to avoid paying taxes on it.” It is a beautiful car. However, a month in, I had issues with the tire pressure sensor and I had it checked out with a local tire business, and they informed me I was sold a car with entirely bald tires which is illegal. I complained to the dealership and at that time, the guys who sold me the car still worked there, so I was treated more fairly. Every time I went there for service after that, the oil change price went up by $40-60 each time and I finally stopped paying $220+ for a basic oil change and found out no where is charging that much for a full synthetic. Then, I had no idea the front windows were illegally tinted. I was told the “only previous owner was a cop” so apparently this cop put illegal tint on the front windows. I had no issues for a year, then I got pulled over twice in one week and given two tickets I have to pay dismissal fees on because the vehicle was sold to me with illegal tint. I went in yesterday to have it fixed and I was frustrated having to deal with something they should’ve known better than to push this car into me without having inspected it. I have no idea about tinting levels on windows. The service department had to “decide” whether they were going to help me and I was treated very coldly (the opposite of when I came in to purchase the car) had I not shown how frustrated I was, they would not have done anything to help me. The head guy looked at me with disgust (the one who has the big office in the service department) and ignored me and went to another customer they didn’t screw over yet instead of acknowledging their mistake in causing me to have to owe the courts $50 because of THEIR lack of care in this situation. They claim to be “building relationships with the community” which really means “we will be extra kind to get your initial business and then even if we messed up, it’s your problem and we don’t actually care about you.” They offer a weekly meal to the homeless to appear to care about the community, but it’s all about reputation. If they genuinely cared about the community (I do social work), they would be treating everyone with respect and care during the sales and service process and ACKNOWLEDGE their mistakes instead of overcharging and begrudgingly helping in a situation that could’ve been avoided had they actually cared about their customers instead of just the numbers.

We had a great experience at SLO BMW. We went to Pismo for the weekend and ended up at SLO to look at a car. Salesmen were great! Even though some were called out for appointments, we were never left alone. The deal was quick and easy. Had to wait for finance a little too long, but they were busy. Went back Sunday morning to sign. Everyone greeted us again. Signed papers, and they presented us with our new car with a private celebration in a separate room playing music and clapping. Never experienced that before. Thanks, Arthur, JD, James, and a couple of others who were so helpful and very friendly.

Terrible experience, because of this agency I dont trust BMW anymore, since they opened the case and they told me that they couldnt do anything. In December of last year I bought a 2020 BMW X6 M with 12,000 miles from Florida since I liked it. the color, when speaking... vincent sent me photos of the x6 in excellent condition, without details of any kind, I asked them and they replied that it was impeccable, I paid for it and when it arrived it was all damaged, full of marks on the paint, optics, and front, the roof did not work, it was rusty from road salt, and the worst thing is that it had a crash and was repaired (it was noticeable everywhere), I was in lawsuit for 3 months until I had to accept a refund of 92,000 us in order not to judge them instead of the 103,000 subscribers. that is, on top of losing money. I hope this comment will help people who choose another bmw agency when buying, since this is totally misleading and a liar. I upload some photos but if you need more Ill gladly send them to you.

Our recent visit to the dealership was quite disappointing. We scheduled an appointment for a brake light issue on Saturday, only to find ourselves waiting endlessly without proper inspection. The service representative speculated on brake pads or a sensor replacement, but it wasnt until Monday that they confirmed only a sensor was needed, despite previously ordering unnecessary parts.After a prolonged wait, our car was finally ready by Monday afternoon, missing promised services like a video inspection. Moreover, a 12% coupon mysteriously disappeared upon payment, and we were surprised by a 3% credit card fee, uncommon for a BMW dealership.Despite assurances for a coupon refund, its been three weeks with no resolution. The lack of follow-through and mishandling of our service needs have left us disillusioned. We wont be returning and advise others to seek service elsewhere.

My service appt was 10:15. There were 8-13 salespeople on the floor and 2 service people. I was not handled until 11:00. Steven apologized and, it happens. HOWEVER, why not cross train a few sales people to be able to jump on the service computers for a better service opportunity? Even the sales manager? The sales people arent doing anything else productive, but wandering and chit-chatting.If customer service is #1, BE #1.

I recently received a recall notice to have the air bags replaced on my 2004 BMW. Lindsey was still kind and helpful rescheduling my appointment but text when i received the appointment reminder notice and I chose not to drive over the grade in the storm before the holiday. Tony couldn’t have been any more helpful or friendly when I arrived and went above and beyond in having a quote ready on something unrelated when I picked my car up. BY FAR THE WORST DEALERSHIP OUT THERE!!!! They have zero respect. I have dealt with a lot of dealerships over the past few months looking for car. This is the worst dealership I have ever dealt with in my whole life. The couple of salesmen I dealt with were nice and seem to try to do all they could to help. Its the management that is terrible. I decided to buy the car, so i texted Yes, I would like to put a down payment, and move to to the next step. Which is to talk to the finance manager, well hours go by never hear anything from the finance manager. Then the sale manager Mike lets me know the car sold. I call him to see what happened and he lets me know that he messed up and never took the paperwork over to the finance guy. He said sorry and he would talk to the general manager and the owner the next day, and see what he could do. Which I was ok with, people including me make mistakes. But then he never calls back the next day, so Ive called a few times but, the sales manager Mike is spineless coward, he wont even answer my phone calls now. But wait it gets worse the general manager Vincent that comments on all these bad reviews, and he basically says call or email me to work it out. I decided Ill give him a chance so I call, not only once but 3 or 4 times, his voicemail is full. So giving them the benefit of the doubt again I send him email, its been about week and at this point no surprise. Now Im out about 600 dollars in plane tickets and little more faith in humanity. I will update if hear back from them and they make things right. Im not holding my breath at this point. Do your self a favor and move on to a different dealership.

This has been frustratingBought a new I7, the compressor apparently was not working, never got to drive it, aside from back to the dealer, been in the shop for almost a week. Zero communications from the dealer, they promise to call and dont and put me on endless hold when I call back. I have no idea what is going on, only that I bought a car that I cannot use and these guys are horrible. Find another place for your car purchase or service.

Updated 6/4. It’s took over 6 months worth of effort and literally 100s of calls and headaches to get this particular dealership to refund me for the wrong 2000 dollar warranty for my car that I was not able to use. Glad i finally got my refund that I rightfully deserved since they soldme an electric car warranty for a gasoline powered x1, despite them originally telling me it was for oil changes. I only figured out this horrible mistake after taking my vehicle for a service appointment at another more reliable location in Bakersfield. I went going back-and-forth for months with various people from the dealership especially ERIC in charge of finance, who is extremely unprofessional difficult to reach, and has no idea how to provide customer service. He never took ownership for his mistake and continuously passed on this problem to other people at the dealership to handle. He’s really the one to blame & takes no accountability. He even canceled my refund process after we signed paperwork to get the money back into my loan. He said it was canceled because I left this honest review so watch out. Someone else who no longer works there ( I mean can you blame them) and was helping me resolved this & now I am working with the business office for this dealership, which is actually located at Coast Nissan in SLO. They were much more willing to work with me than Eric or anyone else who could help me at the dealership who sold me the car. Thank you so much to the sales manager who helped me get this process going. The salesman at this location are great, but just be careful with the finance department. Other customers have reached out to me sharing similar experiences so it’s a common & getting brushed under the rug. They are lucky I didn’t sue after what the put me through but I was definitely close. I had to call and beg multiple times to be able to fix this mess. Hardly anyone at the dealership nobody answered at some point which says a lot. I recommend Bakersfield BMW. 10x better service way more professional and efficient. They have put in their best efforts to assist me in all the horrible mistakes SLO made

I might not be back.... the Lyft rides were late. The first car smelled of smoke and sweat. The driver made me late to work. Tony was kind and helpful. I wish he would have called the Lfyt driver early... when I requested. The afternoon driver left. You called another which arrived quickly. Interestingly enough... I get to BMW and three service employees are standing around talking. Cant you provide transportation? Its a big deal....

As you can plainly see from the most recent reviews, this place has gone downhill quickly. I contacted them about a vehicle and they were eager to respond with photos, videos etc. Once I finally decided to purchase the car, I called them to negotiate the price and they inform me the price is $3000 more than their advertised price. The sales manager informs me they have added ceramic coat and 3m protection. This is about $500 worth of stuff at best. This is what they call the old bait and switch. Used to do it with undercoating, now its ceramic coat.Pretty unscrupulous.

This establishment is the epitome of greedy corporate America. They want nothing more than to take your money. Went in to get my oil changed and had $500 of service added to my visit after receiving news I needed an inspection and a new air filter. Got a call after the inspection and was told my air filter needed to be replaced. Wait what, didnt we agree to this when I dropped the car off? Nawwwww, that was the cabin filter, not the engine filter. Ohhhh now they want another $160 for a filter than costs $20-$60. Also asked to look at a weird clicking sound my car has been making and was told I needed to pay another $500 for a diagnostic test. What in the actual hell? At no point did I feel like my issues were being addressed, but I felt like I was just being pushed and pulled to spend more money. Just screams, We dont care, just give me more money. Thanks for nothing! Unprofessional waste of my time and money.

This was my 3rd purchase from BMW and the service has gone downhill as mentioned in recent reviews. I traded in and leased a new car on 1/20/24 and have had issues ( scuffed rim I noticed the day after I drove my car home-they made me pay to fix, 30 days go by and the car I traded in is not paid off, the pay off amount was different since it was 30 days and I’m responsible to pay)no communication. Called several times, left messages, so drove to the dealership just to hear poor excuses from salespeople. Very disappointed with customer service after being a long time customer.

I have been trying to cancel my extended warranties from 4 months and I went there and signed the documents to cancel it and now after 4 months I called them last week asking whats going on and calling them back to back and they never answered after 30 mins of calling back to back they answered and said that they have to do it again and when its not my fault and Im paying for them. They said call back after week and check if we did send the paperwork for cancelling it and now after week Im calling them and same thing Im calling them back to back from 30 mins and no one answered. When they wanna sell the car they keep calling everyday and after you buy it they dont care. Thats not a way to deal with customers.So Disappointed

My experience with theSan Luis Obispo BMW dealership where I bought a car is the absolute worst. The dealership displayed a complete lack of integrity and employed misleading sales techniques. Having found a vehicle of interest online, my initial conversation with the two salespeople involved revealing my eligibility for four different BMW corporate promotional discounts. Following this, I was told to make a down payment to secure the car despite my reservations about buying without seeing it.Without providing accurate information about the $1,000 recent graduate offer, they insisted that these would be sorted out when I got to the dealership. This was not the case as halfway into my journey they revealed that the car did not qualify for any discounts. Upon arrival and inspection of the car, I noted several flaws which, after discussion with the manager, they were not willing to compensate for.In expressing my dissatisfaction about the whole situation, the sales manager consented to reduce the sales price by $1,500 which I grudgingly accepted. Promises were made about providing a missing car key and paying for specific car repairs.Unfortunately, subsequent days unfolded with a salesman absent from work and getting no updates, coupled with the revelation that there was no key and no compensation for the car repairs. Despite wanting to cancel the sale due to their unfair actions, I was told by the sales manager that I could only return the car by the end of the day and with less than 250 miles on it, which was logistically impossible.

Friendly staff but...when negotiating a deal for a 25k used vehicle I was then told the already installed paint/fabric protection would be an extra 3k. They offered it at 2k, so I asked the out the door price (25k+2k = 27k, not included government fees) and the price BLEW UP to over 29K. The is 4,000 above asking price! Baught a 2018 X1 in August of 2023.Purchased an extended warranty that we were told was for 5 yrs (until 2028), in reality it was only until 2025. I went back to the dealership and had the warranty canceled. This was late August of 2023 and have still not seen the money credited back to the loan. I was told we would see the money within 30 days. 120 days is an unacceptable amount of time. Will have contact the BBB if not resolved soon and possibly the FTC (who probably wont care). I fear we might have been taken for $4,000

At my last visit, I had an oil change scheduled at 11 am. Once I arrived, I added an oil flush with additives to be added when the new oil was put in. I was told that it would take approximately 1.5 - 2 hrs. I told the service agent that I would go visit a friend that was hospitalized and that I would return in a couple of hours. After stating this, the service agent said that if I left, the vehicle wouldnt be ready until around 4 pm because those who waited had priority. I told him that seemed odd because I had an appointment and this type of service generally doesnt take that long. Hesitantly, I went about my way accepting the new time. At around 410 pm, I went back to the dealership to check the status of my vehicle. Was told they got backed up and the vehicle had just went back to be serviced. I then canceled the addional services just to get my vehicle back. At approximately 502 pm my oil change was completed.My chief issue is the process. If an oil change takes all day even though you have an appointment, whats the purpose of the appointment? It shouldnt matter if you stay or leave when you have a scheduled appointment. Realistically, who wants to sit the service department waiting for 2 hours. Bottom line, 6 hrs for an oil change is unacceptable.

Advertised price for 49K, after expressing interest, Sales Rep called me and confirmed the availability and emailed the same about the price and availability.They forced me to submit finance application even though I have approved loan to move forward. I dont even have words to explain the frustration and cant even imagine how these scammers still exist in Business and wondering how many people they exploited like this??? One of the worse experiences! Contacted the dealership to get more information and purchase a vehicle. I spoke with a sales representative named Scott, he had mentioned he was the out-of-state specialist for the dealership. As I am in Boston Ma and he is in CA. I did let him know I would be using my own credit union, and I asked if they were any additional fees with the vehicle. He let me know there would only be two fees one $85 fee in another $200. I let him know that was totally fine. He then said if I could give the dealership a chance to finance the vehicle with them. I told him I did not want to I have my own bank but he was very polite so I told him I would think about it. We hang up, he then sends a video of the vehicle which was awesome of him (I was in love with the car). The very next day he contacted me we started to speak, I asked if he could let me know exactly what it would look like out the door (basically price of the car plus fee). He said prefect and transferred me to a sales manger SCOTT. He answers the phone and it’s immediately apparent, him and the other Scott did not speak before this. He asked what I needed (which he should have known with the call coming in but whatever) and I told him I wanted to know the out the door price for the car. Car is listed for $43,999 and he then says out the door $45,250. Which makes no sense because HIS EMPLOYEE said there was only a $285 fee. Very confused and asked how did the price go up so much? Says it’s a “environmental cleaning fee”. Which had me very confused because I just asked the day prior were there any fee. Let him know I wasn’t comfortable paying $1000 fee to clean the car. Whole time he’s not very polite. He then asked me how I would be paying for the vehicle, I let him know as I told the previous Scott. I have a great relationship with my bank and it’s easy for me to use them. He let me know he will not accept any bank, and I will have to finance with them if I want the vehicle. which makes absolutely no sense because Scott the “out-of-state specialist” said it was totally fine. I let him know I will not be bullied into using his bank just to buy a car (dealerships make money off interest rates). I let him know him and his employee we’re not on the same page whatsoever, and it is very unprofessional. As much as I wanted the vehicle, I would not want to do business with either of them. I’m trying to buy a vehicle out of state and the lack of trust and confidence was insanely terrible once I spoke with the manger Scott just went down hill. Same building not on the same page not good to do business with!!!!

I purchased a new car from this dealership a few months ago, and when I purchased I was told to come back for a 3 month checkup on the car. 3 months came and went and they did not contact me for the courtesy check up appointment, so I reached out myself. They also didn’t have a courtesy car scheduled even though they confirmed that as well. I waited in their waiting room and my husband gets a call at work saying the car is done even though I’m sitting in their waiting room waiting for the car. They then proceed to call me instead of walk 5 feet to tell me the car is done. I was never offered a car wash and they stated that I declined the car wash. I took my keys and drove off. MY BMW is a 1999 Z3 that I LOVE! Over 200,000 miles and it is my baby. Before moving out of state I brought it to BMW of SLO for a few things I wanted replaced/fixed. I have now been in Washington since 6/2023. Never have I ever gotten such 1:1 individual attention IN MY LIFE with the car.When you own a BMW, service and care is a high priority. I always thought I couldnt afford service here for my beloved car, I was SO wrong! From June through July the service and communication I received WHILE i was 1,000 miles away, from Steve Simpers and tech staff was outstanding. It was as if my car was in the ICU. Genuine BMW Z3 parts were sourced throughout the U.S. from several places, shipped then waited for my car.Being a ragtop, i was concerned about where my car would be held. Not to worry, Steve said all cars are kept and protected from elements. I got PICTURES!! Pictures of everything that was done! NEVER any pressure to get my car out despite not being a new $$$$ luxury big ticket car. I cannot express my thanks and love for the care my car received. ONE less thing I had to worry about during my move having my car safely held at SLO BMW, and then? I was SO comfortable with the support and care at BMW of SLO...I ended up not coming back from Washington FOR my car, Steve did a fabulous job with the hand off of my precious car to be shipped home to me. I was pretty anxious having my tiny car loaded onto a car hauler then transported 1,000 miles.No one is allowed to touch or drive my car among family/friends (but its ok for Steve Simper and the staff). Steve was on hand for the loading of my car THEN after my car left San Luis Obispo and had left the state, i got a YouTube video FROM Steve showing my car loaded and leaving. Wished me well and thanked me for allowing BMW of SLO to care for my car. Seriously? SO kind, took time from Steves day but gave me such peace of mind...Less than 24hrs later my precious car arrived. NO bugs. Z3 had been secured RIGHT behind the car hauler driver.I get so emotional remembering the care my Z3 received. Perfect repairs, excellent communication, not sure i will find ever again in my new home state.THIS is how impressed I am...with BMW of San Luis Obispo.Why everyone should go there for premium care. This dealership is unlike any other. I’m not sure where to begin but will start with sales. I had gone back and forth with Mitch (Portfolio Manager) and Vincent (GM) for many many months on several different cars. There was never the slightest bit of pressure get me into a car. These guys do not want to be the low price leader, but instead wish to provide a very fair value and build lasting relationships.On the service side, Connor, Richard and Roger are all rock stars. The service director Josh is a stand up dude as well and together they always make sure your needs are taken care of.Angad in finance never tried to push any extras to close a deal.Chris is one of their lead techs and it’s very obvious as to why. He is meticulous and detail oriented and takes great care of your car. I’m extremely meticulous myself and he made me feel very comfortable.I could go on and on. If you are looking for a new car, used car, service needs, after market installations, really anything and everything this is your spot. I paid $499 for diagnostic testing. I was told by the service manager this was an absolutely required service and fee. On the day I planned to pick up my BMW after my $1650 repair for spark plugs I was informed the battery had failed to start and the original $1650 repair was now going up another $600 for a new battery. The service manager could not or would not explain why the $499 diagnostic test failed to detect a low amp battery charge. The service manager seemed totally unfazed by my concerns and he was condescending and demeaning to me. Unlikely this situation would have happened to a man or a man spoken to with such disregard as I was.Update August 1, 2023: After receiving the BMW dealers response to my review, I have called them twice at their invitation to work this out. No one has cared to return my call.

I was on my way up north to meet relatives, and my car started acting up. Luckily, I was only 3 miles from the dealership and I turned around and went back and service got me in as soon as they could and luckily they had the part and it wasn’t a major issue and within four hours I was back on the road and made it to Monterey before dark hit. They offered me water and coffee and had a very nice comfortable place to wait if I lived closer, this would be my dealership of choice.

Honestly dealing with this dealership has been an nightmare. They got me to drive hours to buy a car stating they wouldnt add anything on top of the msrp of the car and little do I know As I am signing off the car they added a 995.00 warranty called Resistall without ever disclosing this to me. I drove 3 hours so I didn’t cancel the deal. Then comes to find out they never even gave me the products to use them as it is a kit that’s included with the Resistall warranty. After waiting for months for them to send it to me I now and trying to file a claim as this is supposed to help protect interior and exterior of the car and the warranty company listed on the only documentation they provided me is stating the dealership never sent payment or activated the warranty. What really sucks is they told me I had to buy this in order to purchase the car. They never gave me the actual paperwork for it since and now for months I have been trying to get this resolved with Scott who sold me the car and I have allllllll of the text messages, documentation and communication I have been sending regarding this issue with no resolution. After being lied to and telling themThe paperwork you provided me which states the legal and of the entity and the warranty I have is not registered they now send me competitors different paperwork one year after I bought the car which was never given to meNow with completelyDifferent warranty and details. I was never given the Mia documentation never signed on this warranty they forwarded me a year later and all the details are different now. It literally states in big bold letters on this version btw that I don’t need toBuy this to purchase the car. Honestly, I can not recommend this dealership as this is unethical practices used to steal money fromHard workings Americans. This is not right and not a fair way to do business. This actually is FRAUD. I will be waiting for a resolution and will provide an update if I ever get this resolved. Stay far away from this dealership. As I wait for them to help me out they literally tell me that they can’t help me since I wrote a bad review. Scheduling and Servicing was okay. The 32 point inspection is to just a rue so they can recommend thousands of dollars of repairs. They have told me twice I needed new tires when they were new. The icing on the cake was a 3% charge to use a credit card. Won’t be back!

The service was courteous and the work adequate. I felt 700$ + for labor in changing a12v battery was outrageous . I was delayed in getting the car as I was told it would be fully charged but not only did I receive it with less charge but the gas tank was on empty (it had full). There was a recall issue with something to do with a vapor device in the tank. I assume they had to empty the tank to fix it but they should have refilled it. My biggest issue was that I had asked to have my high voltage battery evaluated for degradation as it is nearing its 8 year warranty. I was told by the service rep that he’d never heard of such a warranty and he was dismissive of the issue. I assumed he was correct and I was mistaken. After I returned with the car I searched and found the warrant for my car and I was in fact correct. At best this rep was uninformed and did not follow to get the correct information.

Worst customer service experience. First, they make a big deal of their Service Event, with mailings, email, and phone reminders, a give-away and a prize to win. They ask you to schedule in advance and tell you it will take about an hour. I arrived at the scheduled time, checked in and took a seat. After 90 minutes with no communication I went back to the front desk, only to find out that my car was still where I had left it and unserviced. The only excuse was that some of their technicians had left and they were short staffed. The only two options given were to continue to wait an unspecified amount of time, or to leave. I chose the latter. Why was it the worst? Because in addition to the lack of planning and communication on their part, and wasting my time, the front desk staff lacked knowledge, compassion, and basic customer service skills.

My engine oil light came up while I was driving from SF to LA. I drove to this dealership because it was the closest. Without an appointment they took my car. No high pressure salesman they were all very helpful and I actually didn’t mind the experience at all usually you have to play games back-and-forth when buying a car they did not present themselves like that at all. Do not trust this dealership. Very unethical and unprofessional. I live in Dallas, TX. Found a vehicle I wanted online. I already have financing of my own, all I needed was a final number for the purchase and to send them funding papers from usaa. I wanted to know the costs of extended warranties would not give me any information. They then insisted I fill out a credit app saying they might be able to get me a better deal. I told them I didnt want my credit shopped around. They replied stating that they have to do it to protect themselves. I understand then pulling it so that it helps to verify who I am. Especially with all the scams out there. Then I again said DO NOT SEND MY CREDIT TO ANY BANKS. 10 minutes later I get alerts that they sent my credit to 3 banks after pulling my credit for themselves. Then after I finally get to talk to the finance department, and get warranty pricing, they dont want to negotiate price. Thats fine but I am still angry they sent out my credit after I directly told them not to. That was very unethical, especially for A BMW dealer, not to mention a violation of my Consumer rights. I will be filing a report with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and The California DMV for violating FRCA.Not to mention when I asked to speak to Vincent the general manager, they sent my directly to a full voice-mail

Having a repair done here is an absolute joke. The prices are exorbitant even for a BMW service department. They wanted over 800$ to replace a part I replaced for 44$ and swapped out in the parking lot. All they try to do is sell you on buying a new car, not repairing you old one. Our sales person, Kevin, was helpful and friendly.Unfortunately, the business office missed something significant for our dmv paperwork but didn’t catch it until we inquired about our registration and new plates. To get the dmv paperwork resolved ended up being a big inconvenience for my husband and I. We shared our frustrations with Kevin and Josh at the dealership. They both assured me that they would make it right, and they didn’t. There was no follow through or follow up on what they had agreed on. I recently visited for some routine programming associated with a recall on my car. This trip was quick, probably a little over an hour. Service department thought it might take longer so I was very pleased with how efficient the visit was. BMW of San Luis has been a great find for me great teammates in all departments! I live in LA but was driving to SLO to visit a friend. 50 miles from SLO, the brake light went on in my car warning me that my car needed new brakes ASAP. I called BMW/SLO from my car and informed them of my predicament. They immediately made a service appt for me upon my arrival in SLO and followed up with a second call soon after, to make sure I was safe. They put new brakes on my car that afternoon. Online purchasers, if you cant physically go to the dealership, find another car at a different dealership if possible.We recently purchased a car online (from across the country), from BMW San Luis Obispo. The car is brilliant. Presale, the dealership was good to work with but after the sale, they ghosted us, actively ignoring any attempt to reach them. Here are a few examples:We were having our car shipped, and the car carrier company couldnt reach them to arrange the pickup. It took me, the driver, and the broker calling multiple times to get someone to answer to confirm pickup, something they do all the time.After delivery, we needed the title number to get the car registered. The dealership didnt seem to think this was their concern. Neither the salesperson nor the finance person would answer my repeated attempts to reach them, and their voicemails were full. I soon found out they knew I was trying to reach them when after my 4th attempt, I got a simple text from the salesperson, Im in a meeting. How can I help? I requested a call back, but he ignored my request.The Finance Manager eventually called me back, but I hit a dead end when he claimed he couldnt get the title number and told me BMW Financial Services had it. I contacted BMW Financial services who questioned the dealership. They even tried calling the dealership directly because the the answer the dealer gave me didnt make sense to them but even they couldnt get an answer.Back to calling the dealership, and back to no answering. Since they were ghosting me, I finally called them from my work phone number, and the salesperson surprisingly answered on the second ring, shocked to hear my voice. We lost an entire day but eventually, through persistence, I was able to reach the title person who was fantastic, and got me the title number in 30 seconds. Unfortunately, because of the delay, we lost half a week of using our new car.The sales manager also owed us a response on a different question, but began ignoring us as well. At first I thought this was a simple omission as I always think people have the best of intents, but BMW SLO have a systemic lack of concern for their customers. Despite there being no friction at any point in the sales process, they acted with intentionality of ignoring customers. Our inquiry was only about asking for a title number. I cant imagine if we had an actual issue with the car.I hope this review can help one person avoid the runaround weve had or even better, maybe the dealership can learn from our horrible experience, and try to prevent another customer from going through what we did.

This was my first visit to this location. Scheduling for an appointment was easy and a reminder SMS message was great to receive. Upon arriving for my appointment I was greeted warmly and I explained it was my first time visiting this location. I also mentioned that a warning message was shown on my drive this morning. I was informed that there would be a $199 charge to diagnose the problem. There didnt seem to be much guidance that I should consider waiting to see if the message reappears before spending this much money to diagnose, as it is very likely that the message would not reappear and it was a one-time issue.I was provided an estimated completion time for the scheduled repairs and the service was finished right on time (or actually even a bit ahead of schedule). Here is where things could have been much better. I am informed that during an inspection of my vehicle my front tires were showing 1-2mm of tread remaining and the rear was at 2.5mm. I was asked if I wanted to schedule an appointment to put new tires on the vehicle. I had inspected the tires that morning with my service agent and I knew the tires werent approaching bald (0mm) condition so I didnt believe the 1-2mm reading. And if my tires were at 1-2mm, I should have received guidance that driving with tires in such poor condition would be potentially unsafe.I stopped by Americas tire center this afternoon and they used a laser powered measuring device. The lowest reading they could see was 5mm on both front and back tires, which seemed to be in line with my own visual inspection.A dealer that reports to sell performance vehicles should be able to accurately measure a tire and guide an owner appropriately to change a tire when it is needed. My own service agent should have known these tires werent in 1-2mm condition as I saw him visually inspect these tires with me when I arrived. If a technician reports 1-2mm, I expect an amount of reasonableness to be applied to any recommendations.

Superb attention to my new 430i for its first oil change and service appt. Also superb attention to me and my question about a tech snag with my key fob. I needed to leave the dealership before I had a chance to discuss the problem with my original salesperson, James. Called about a 2023 BMW m240i shipped to Utah. I asked about the price, and went over some pricing info. The sales person Scott conveniently forgot to tell me they are adding 5k to the price just because. Asked me to fill out a credit application too. They do not disclose any markup on their website and when I was confused about hearing they were asking for an additional 5k, the salesperson was rude, stating there are 367 dealerships and not a lot of inventory and stated his markup was justified. A 5k markup on a 2 series bmw in 2023 is pretty wild to see.Update, Scott the salesman called me back asking why I left the 1 star review. I explained I was upset and shocked about a 5k dealer markup, when no other dealers are doing that and that it was not disclosed beforehand. Especially since these cars can be custom ordered and delivered in just a few months. Scott tried to justify their unfair pricing, by stating there are “so few” of these available. Luckily I can go elsewhere since there are indeed 366 other dealers most of which will give me HONEST UP FRONT PRICING and getting new inventory daily. Please save your money and purchase from a different dealer who will not add a dealer markup!

Asked for a refund on the maintenance package they sold by by telling lies- and only after DOZENS of calls, ignored text messages and emails to everyone from the sales person, sales manager, dealership general manager and owner - finally, after more than 6 months, I received the refund.Will never do business with them again.BTW, their comments here for PR purposes only. BMW OF SLO delivers exceptional service.From Lupe, my service advisor to Josh the manager, both had reached out to me when my car was in their shop for the Takata airbag(s) long awaited recall replacement that other dealerships had trouble obtaining over the past 6 years. They were able to secure the parts needed within 24 hours and complete the installation of the airbags.During the install the ongoing oil leak in the car was traced to the oil valve assembly. Responsibly, I was offered a repair and made aware that is was an aggressive leak. If I drove this car weekly I would not hesitate to fix it now, but low annual mileage doesn’t call for me to act on it at this time. Once I begin to drive this more regularly it would be prudent to get the valve replaced.Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and even though this service was a manufacturer recall, I felt valued for choosing them to do the work.

I purchased a car three months ago and the sell itself was fine. Paul was the salesmen, he was great and answered all my questions prior to the sell. However, dealing with them after the sale has been a completely horrible experience. I was given $100 to spend at their shop but they did not have the size in the sweater that I wanted so they offered to ship it out to me due to me living three hours away. After calling and asking about my sweater about seven times and speaking to about five different people I finally got my sweater about a month ago. When I finally received my white sweater, it arrived with a huge black ink stain about the size of a fist on the chest area. There was no pen or anything that could’ve stained the sweater in the box so it was obviously mailed out stained to me and they were obviously aware of it. I’ve called about four times to ask for a replacement sweater and still have not gotten a solution. It’s really upsetting that every time I call I get referred to someone else or told that I will be getting a call back and never do. It’s frustrating having to go back-and-forth with them for three months now over a $100 sweater but I feel that if they’re going to offer something they should deliver. I wish I would’ve read their reviews prior to purchasing my car I would’ve know about their lack of communication and follow up. Apparently once they sell you a car, they no longer pretend to care about your concerns.

My car buying experience w/ BMW San Luis Obispo was excellent. I didn’t even have to be in state for me to enjoy the experience. The salesman gave me a personal virtual tour of the car I was interested in and as he was taping he was describing the benefits of the car. I also appreciate that every time I called I always got someone on the phone and if I didn’t I left a message and they promptly responded. When it came down to Buisness they gave me the numbers of what I was possibly looking at to finance before running my credit which they are the only ones that did that. Once again great experience, no complaints.
