My previous insurance broker had been bought out by a larger, non-communicative company and I was unhappy. Id given them a year to improve but they didnt seem to care about the new customers they inherited from the buy out. I googled to find a new broker near me and found Blackwell Insurance had many good reviews. I thought Id give them a chance. I heard back from Ken and he was very patient as I made my decision and took much longer than Id anticipated. He kept in contact (something my former agency was lacking) but was not pushy. He quickly sent over various quotes based on what I was emailing him back and forth, and sure seemed patient on my end! ;) Finally ended up with the auto coverage and renters insurance policy I wanted and he was able to make it go into affect on the future date requested without an issue. He has stayed in contact to make sure I received everything I was suppose to (via USPS mail and email) and hes easy to reach out to if I have further questions as well, without being pushy about anything. This is the sort of communication I was used to and missed with my former agency. Im happy to be with Blackwell Insurance now and to have Ken as my contact.

I was desperate for homeowners coverage on my parents’ home in California. They both passed and I was the trustee. As I was getting the home ready for sale, i found out that the current policy was being non-renewed as the carrier was no longer selling in the state. For most of us, insurance is a necessary evil. It’s not fun. But, it comes at great peril to neglect insurance needs. Insurance companies appear to be backing out of California. Our family has long and faithfully paid two big, well known, insurance companies to cover our family’s properties as well as other insurance needs. We got a whiff that one of our providers was not going to renew one of our policies. So, we called our other provider and asked if they’d write a policy, for the affected property. They declined. I was stunned. Our loyalty and patronage over many years didn’t mean a thing to either these behemoths in the industry.That’s where Ken Haraughty and his team at Blackwell Insurance Agency stepped in. They are a multi-generational family insurance broker. They called around and found a provider who would write the new policy. As we made the arrangements, Ken was responsive and reliable, texting and calling us, beyond office hours, until he got us squared-away. We were never dumped into a robo-phone system. Nobody ever spoke in cloying tones, telling us they, “understood our frustration.” Ken will be our first call, should we ever have a claim or question, regarding the new policy. We never had a dedicated contact, with the household name companies, who so happily cashed our checks for the many years prior. We do now!

A great experience working with Ken at Blackwell Insurance. My existing insurer raised my auto insurance by 50% with not even any claims filed in last 15 years. He was very clear and precise and gave me the current market situation where most of the big insurers are living CA. I was looking to switch my auto insurance company desperately and was hoping to find a cheaper policy with better coverage for my family including my college going son. I highly recommend Blackwell Insurance and specifically, Jenn Gunderson even though I eventually ended up canceling my policy. Jenn did her best to shop my auto/home policy to find the best possible rates given recent claims with the insurance carrier. She was also very professional and thorough during cancelation. I ended up obtaining insurance through my employer benefit portal, a perk I did not know was available to me. Absent this benefit, I would have remained a client of Blackwell and appreciate the service I received for the past years.

I discovered I became a high risk homeowner after filing a claim against my insurance. My insurance company decided to reduce coverage, increase my deductible AND charge me hundreds more per year for using the insurance I paid for over several years. I called everywhere. No one would touch me after having a claim. Then I found Blackwell. Heather was amazing. She assured me it WAS possible to get insurance and it wouldnt be an arm and a leg. She delivered! Ken was superb! Before contacting him I was paying +80$ for liability insurance my for daily driver. He helped me find the best rates and I was able to switch providers AND ADD AN ADDITIONAL VEHICLE with better coverage and benefits on both for an additional $10 per month!! I was going to sell my inherited vehicle due to insurance costs but now I can have a emergency spare replacement vehicle at little to no extra cost. He also answered about a dozen questions I had regarding policy and coverage. He is honest, to the point and has your best interest in mind! I will be in touch with him when I buy my first home for homeowners insurance and see what options I have there, 5/5 stars perfect service

My debit card had been compromised and I was unknowingly dropped by my insurance company for non-payment as the autopay was set up with my debit card. I could not register my car due to this oversight and Ken got me all set up with a better insurance plan at a cheaper rate that the autopay was set up through my bank account, not my card number. Great service, Blackwell insurance delivers on their promises to provide best services with all aspects of insurance. I recently got into a car accident and my agent helped me with the claim adjustments was reimbursements and assisted me with what I needed to close this claim. Jennifer Gunderson provided over and over again amazing and exceptional service. She is dedicated, assisted me after hours while she was at home attending to her family. I wouldn’t go anywhere else, they have my auto home apartments and an umbrella policy. I was with Blackwell for over 14 years and made a huge mistake by switching to AAA for a year. I’m happy to say that as of yesterday I’m back with the Blackwell family!!! My agent went above and beyond, literally. I was having issues being able to renew my insurance due to financial issues over the Christmas holiday and he kept in touch with me during his time away from work.
