Needed a pick me up. Stopped at this small and quaint cafe. The location is very clean. Great customer service. Nice variety of food and drinks. I got a pour over coffee and was persuaded to purchase a slice of Morning Glory loaf cake. Heavenly experience. :) Would definitely return.

Love this place so much. My favorite cafe. They have so many yummy options so theyre great for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Every drink Ive tried has been delicious. And the employees are so nice, they usually remember my favorite orders and are always upbeat.Plus, if I dont hear them call my drink, or they can tell Im working, theyll bring it to my table. Usually you have to go get the drink from the counter so I appreciate them taking the extra time when Im distracted.Lots of outlets and different seating. Great for working or bringing friends. Just all around great!

My boyfriend and I are absolutely obsessed with this cafe. We live nearby so we usually come here at least a few times a week. The Chaggacino is a must-try and is my regular drink of choice. I havent had a good Chaggacino from anywhere else, to be honest. Other fan favorites of ours are the Bacon Egg and Cheese Croissant Sandwich and the Cranberry Muffin? Cake? something like that.If you are in the area, I highly recommend coming through and supporting this coffee business!

I always order an iced mocha when I visit my friend from out of town. This time I ordered a jalapeño breakfast bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese. It gave me a second life. Staff is always so friendly and I see them working so well together. Even when things seem busy, I never feel like I’ve been waiting too long. Love this place!

I love this cafe!! The coffee is just as good if not better than any hipster coffee shop in the east bay and the service is super friendly. They actually know how to make a proper macchiato. Across the street from a park and has a nice neighborhood feeling. Such a great place to sit and work for a few hours. I’ll have to come back and try the beers or wine.

I love Black Diamond Cafe and all of the staff here are so nice. Today, I ordered the Thai red curry chicken with rice and they now have boba! I ended up getting the oolong coffee jelly with little ice (but they do have normal boba, I just opted for coffee jelly). Both were good and I recommend any of their food. I typically get a lox bagel and a large hot coffee if I stop by for breakfast. They also serve alcohol here and on tap. Theres free WiFi, bathroom, a place to sit comfortably, you can watch sports on a big tv, and directly outside is a bus stop/free shuttle, and Christie Park. Support a small business and eat yummy food.

We stopped in for an afternoon pick me up and to get a little work done. This was a great surprise. We wanted to find a smaller local coffee shop. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. My husband had an iced coffee and said it was one of the best he has had. I ordered a latte and it was delicious. I of course had to have a cheesecake danish, just because it looked amazing in the display case! This place must be pretty popular for the perfect afternoon coffee charge and study or work location. The cafe was full but seats opened up quickly. Recommend highly

My new go-to coffee place! Delicious brewed coffee (and great combination with oat and almond milk alternatives). The vegetarian panini is one of the best in the area.Great place to grab quick breakfast and go, with an option of outdoor seating. Clean, hygienic and no-fuss coffee place.100% would recommend.

Food and drinks were great. We got the french toast, bagel sandwich and yogurt parfait for a Sunday brunch. Yogurt was full of fresh fruit and wasnt too sweet which is how I like it. Brioche french toast had fresh berries - my friend enjoyed it. The hot drinks were made well (mocha, chai latte and hot tea). Nice area and friendly staff. Order came out fast. Would definitely return next time we are in the area.

Mom and pop style coffee shop, with good coffee and great sandwiches. They use fresh ingredients and make a lot of items from scratch. I love their soups too, which change daily. Great to have a place like this to rely on in the neighborhood.

Love this place as it is right outside our apartment. I like their sandwiches and drink offerings. Prices are fair and taste is good. Restroom onsite and wheelchair accessible. Friendly staff! Limited parking adjacent to the store though unless you park farther and walk to it.

The sandwiches are fantastic. I ordered a hot pastrami, and it comes on a ciabatta with cheese, L/T/O and avocado- plus a pickle and a slice of fruit. Delicious. They also have beer on tap and a nice wine menu. Fabulous!

I remember this place. It was where I was to meet Paula on our first date. We got there at three on a Sunday and they were closing. The young woman at the counter was really nice and let me use the restroom. I left her a nice tip (dont play with matches)(just kidding I think I left $5.. I had to pee real bad). It is a cute place looks like it could be okay but I never tried the food. The bathrooms were nice.

I was looking for a new place to study since Starbucks got rid of all of their outlets. I found this cute little cafe and thought I would check it out. It is kinda hidden so you dont have to worry about big crowds. They have nice breakfast options and they give you the bathroom and wifi codes so you can have access. Im going to make this my new study spot!!

I come here often. The coffee is only OK, not as good as Peets. But they have a different delicious fresh homemade soup every weekday, and their own chili (made with both meat and beans) that is nicely spicy. They have a decent selection of sandwiches (paninis) and wraps and some excellent salads. Im also a fan of their homemade potato salad. And the carrot cake is pretty good, too.If youre into alcohol they have a decent range of beers and wines - I cant speak to their quality because Ive never drunk them.They have free WiFi and plenty of outlets to plug in. Lots of college students study here and some people have business-type meetings.Parking can be a little tricky. And theres a bus stop right outside the door.The people who work here, which include the owners, are helpful and generally friendly - some are more quiet and reserved than others, but always polite. Note that the restroom is for customers only, since its part of the next door office.

Nothing super special, nothing that really wowed me, but it definitely wasnt bad.The coffee is good, the ambiance is fine.If they wanted 5 stars out of me they would update their furniture to something more comfy and update their lighting. Its has a bit of a cafeteria vibe.

Was going try out this spot for breakfast but end up going to peets instead. The cook was really rude. I know this review might be bias cause I am not feel good already.I had to cause first impression is important. I walk in and went toward the restroom, ofcourse its needs a key code. I kindly ask the cook that was in the kitchen area, but rudely ask me back for a receipt. I said havent order yet. he insist I have to order something first in a rude way.

Even though the Black Diamond Café is close to the Emeryville Public Market, it’s an easy place to overlook. However, once you discover it you’ll probably go back. The set-up is nice – a central area near the counter with a variety of tables and lots of light, and then a longer section with small tables set into alcoves (perfect for working) and a great water feature with plants. You should have no trouble finding a seat and the WiFi is free (and fast enough). Service (from Joanne and others) is always friendly and they have a rewards scheme where you get $5 credit after you clock up $50 (better than Sbux rewards!).I’ve been there several times for a latte ($4) or cappuccino ($3.50) and various bites (homemade pastries, bagel with cream cheese, tomato and pesto) and always find it good. They use Ritual coffee beans combined with Clover organic milk to make exceptionally good drinks - I’d put them in the top 5 in the East Bay (along with the likes of Blue Bottle) for their coffee drinks. They have a decent selection of about 6 local beers on tap (with happy hour from 3–6 PM and free bagel chips with your drink!) and some really good bottles (Belgians, Ommegang, etc.) and a selection of wine.For social and environmental responsibility, I’m giving them 4/5 green stars for their Ritual coffee and organic milk, homemade pastries and bagels. I asked if they use free-range eggs but the server wasn’t sure. More info on ingredients would be helpful.

Small cafe with free Wi-Fi. They give you the wifi code on the recipient so if you are planning to hang out for some time then use the code to access the wifi.It is not crowded and staff is really helpful. Bus stops are also super close so in case you are waiting for your bus you can hang out here.

The coffee is ok, the food is ok, but the staff can be especially pretentious. Do yourself a favor and dont mistake the Asiago bagel for a cheese bagel. Regardless of the fact that they are essentially the same, one guy who often works the register will correct you and make a freaking huge deal out of it. LET ME CALL IT A CHEESE BAGEL!!! Needless to say, I have stopped going there. The food/coffee takes FOREVER to come out so its really not worth having some rude guy argue with you about a flipping cheese or Asiago or whatever bagel. Go elsewhere and save yourself the headache.

I came here in Emeryville looking for a good cafe to stay while working on my laptop. I think the staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. There are outlets and three spaces where you can sit and work alone. However, the inside of the store is noisy and there is some vibration, so it doesnt feel good to sit there. Above all, I couldnt stay long because I couldnt use Korean sites (Naver, papago) using the Wi-Fi provided here.
