I purchased the K1 motor because I fish off shore anywhere from 6-12 nautical miles per trip multiple days a week. The motor has alleviated the majority of the leg stress. I use it only to get home once I’m finished fishing or ready to go. Drop in pedal well and done. Landed a big sailfish last year and because of the motor I was able to transport the fish safely back to shore

I have had my Bixpy J2 for 2+ years and it has become indispensable for my kayak fishing. My trips are 3-4 hours each and cover about four miles. Even with the smaller battery I typically get three trips per charge. I use it on both my Hobie Outback and Tarpon 120.

The Bixpy K1 has been a game-changer. You Google Earth streams and tributaries for the next fishing excursion and think, that’s a lot of peddling and padding. I have a Seastream 120PD. This Bixpy fit right on the rudder with template and a dremel. There is nothing better than ending the day, knowing that no matter how far I’ve traveled, the Bixpy has the battery life to get me back to the original launch location. I’ve fished so many new areas because of the confidence this Bixpy has given me. Don’t get me wrong, I can paddle and peddle but this motor make life and fishing that much more enjoyable.

Extremely impressed with my motor from Bixpy! I added the Mirage drive attachment for use in my Hobie Compass Duo kayak. Its amazing! Battery lasts a long time and it hauls my wife and I around. When I fish, I use it in the front and the pedals in the back so I can use both at any given time.Battery is also very low profile and fits under my seat

I used my Bixpy K-1 motor & battery kit on my Hobie PA-12 in the Everglades National Park to transit the glades & mangroves to a crystal white sandy beach named Tiger Key. I pushed the motor at top speed, against a 3 knot current for 3 hours & 40 minutes before arriving at my destination. Within 1km of the destination, I came upon two other kayakers who had departed from the same place I had but had spent more than 7 hours paddling. I really love my Bixpy K-1 motor & pp 768 battery.

Very happy I put a Bixpy motor on my fishing pontoon last year. It has come in so handy when the weather has turned bad. The underside fin mount makes it convenient and totally out of the way during operation. Lets me cover a lot more water during the day and is quiet during operation. Kudos Bixpy!

Broke in my new K1 Angler kit with 3 in row, long HOT days on the water. I think right off the bat for this review, 3 in a row tells the tale. I couldnt have stayed out as long as i did, covered the water like i did had it not been for taking the leap on this purchase. Im retired, have to be smart with my toys, after this weekend there is ZERO buyers remorse, it is so easy to see this is a quality build that if taken care of properly, will last a good long while. Again, me being “smart” about purchases = PITA to perspective company im buying from. Bixpy customer support answered every question i had by already thinking of a potential issue, addressing it, and having it become not a concern. Their forethought to the end product is a revelation in todays throwaway world. They build things to work, work in synch together, and performance shows. I encountered a lot of grass in the water (tidal creeks), the kare kit shroud for this exact issue did its job perfectly. It got covered enough a couple times i could hear a difference in the motor. Not wanting to stress it, i stopped, cleaned it off and back at it in no time. I could go on and on how much i love their products. I will sum it up this way, again, retired, not a body of spring chicken, but the brain of one. I have been a competitive cyclist for 40+ years, when my body started retaliating for the stress i have given it, the bike industry followed me with Ebikes. I have said they will save the world. About 30 of those 40 years of riding i picked up a fly rod. Fished in the mountains, boulder hopping, climbing over fallen trees, not the lazy Huck Finn bait and wait napping stream side fishing, and float fishing, and wanting to pursue saltwater now that i have the time to do it. Just like the ebike has made it possible for me to keep doing something i love, Bixpy is giving me the ability and the confidence to pursue another adventure in my life. If there is anyone reading this that might be same age bracket, do not waste another day thinking it to death, buy it, enjoy it! I didnt know a lot about motorized boat options, i did my research and arrived at Bixpy, they (customer support another 5 stars to them for speed and thoroughness, even explaining the why it was designed in such a way). Customer Support + quality made product = happy customer. It is such an easy equation, that we seldom see anymore. Bixpy pulls it off. I cant wait to see whats ahead!

I have owned a pedal kayak for several years (Old Town Sportsman PDL 106). I have watched my fishing buddies add trolling motors to their kayaks and decided it was time for me to do the same.I began doing some research. I talked to those I fish with and did additional internet searches. I came up with a list of criteria for what I was looking for.I wanted a quality built motor that is durable and tough, uncomplicated to mount, and easy to use. I also wanted a company that is known for excellent support and customer service. The company also needed to be innovative in research and development not only in new products, but new products that improve prior generations of motors.I found what I was looking for with Bixpy. I purchased a K-2 motor, the PP-378 Outboard Battery along with power pole mount adapter. This adapter fit perfectly on my existing power pole mount built into my Old Town.Putting all these components together on my kayak was very intuitive. Even so, Bixpy has plenty of on line assistance as well as personal help while on a personal telephone call.I launched my kayak on the water and the K-2 and all components performed as expected and beyond. In fact, it went so well that my wife told me to get her a Bixpy for her Old Town. First off, The convenience of a basically a plug and play device. I have had this set up on my Old Town Topwater 120 for over three years now with the J-2, and not one issue as far as performance. I have yet to return home with less than three bars on the battery after a full day of fishing. I love my Bixpy!

I am very happy with my purchase of the K1 motor/PP-378 battery kit (purchased summer of 2023). So far, I have used it on 2 different brand inflatable SUPs, an inflatable aquaglide Kayak and an inflatable fishing kayak (Bozeman with Hobie I-TREK steering upgrade rudder kit). The flexibility of uses for the motor kit was made possible via the various available Bixpy adapters (US fin box, slide and lock, and the DYI Thruhull POD adapter). On the ground, I am used to having pedal assist on my ebike so that I can go further distance on my excursions. I wanted a similar capability/experience on the water with paddle assist of which I now get with the Bixpy kit. The extra horse power comes in handy when I have my 90 lbs doggy passenger on board. As a bonus, when my spouse gets tired of paddling on her board, I can tow her behind my board to give her a break. In general, I mostly use mid range speeds with the occasional full speed and have plenty of battery left after a few hours of use.

I purchased a Bixpy Hand Steering Kit Feb 2022 for my sit on top Pelican 13.5 ft Kayak. It is extremely easy to steer as I mounted it to my right and only requires one hand to turn the trolling motor. It was easy to install. The kevlar strings to attach to motor steering bracket are amazing. Theyve been wet in salt water many times and dont seem to stretch. I highly recommend this kit as an inexpensive, slick way to control kayak steering.

I just purchased the Bixpy K-1 motor and battery setup for my Hobie Outback kayak. I used it with the Low Profile Thruhull Pedal Drive Adapter. The set up was extremely easy. Literally four screws and the motor was secured on the adapter and I was out on the water. The whole set up is lightweight. I would guess the battery and motor together weigh about 12 pounds. The first time out the weather conditions changed on me and I was nose into a a horrible wind and battling the current as well. I turned on the motor and it did an amazing job of getting me home that day. The motor is quiet, so it works great for fishing. The battery life is outstanding. The poor little motor had its work cut out for it on its maiden voyage and it did a remarkable job. Im still shocked at how something so small can have so much power. The battery is small and easily fit in the front of my kayak. Im now a believer in Bixpy products and Im sure this wont be my last purchase from them.

Just bought the J2 Bixpy motor for my Sea Eagle 420 kayak. Glad that I did. It’s like having an extra paddler in back! I also got closer to the water birds as they seem less scared. It hardly makes any noise and has a lot of power. It’s easy to assemble and is well made and very light weight (10 lbs). It’s got a wireless control that you wear around your wrist.It works great out of the box. Initially I thought it was a lot of money but you get what you pay for. I purchase this for my catch modes 110 about a month ago. Was looking for a trolling motor with power but still lightweight so I can load my kayak with other options. The K-1 jet went above and beyond my expectations. Being able to turn on a dime, power through rough waters with ease bit staying light as possible and still looking esthetically pleasing I couldnt ask for anything more. If youre in the market for a way to power your kayak, paddle board or inflatable I strongly recommend bixpy jets. I love this product with a bad shoulder I thought kayaking was not feasible but I found bixpy motor and the combination between my hobie revolution and the bixpy motor are game changers I have had mine for 3 years and love the product easy to use and store, lightweight and durable I would recommend bixpy motor to anyone with back or shoulder issues or just dont have the physical strength this is a game changer 20 minutes kayak ride will turn in to a 4 hour ride with less effort you can explore more. We love our Bixby motors! We use them for my paddle boards and kayaks. So easy to change them from one to the other. We feel so much safer having the motors when in remote places and when wind comes up. We still get a good workout paddling like we did without them. We can cover more area of the lake or ocean. Very simple to operate. They pack in the bag perfectly and are so easy to bring on a trip even if I may not need them. Just in case we find a nice spot. I paired them with kayaks and paddle boards from Kokopelli and it is the perfect lightweight combo . Can’t wait to go again! Bixby has great customer service! The bixpy k-1 jet has tremendously changed the way I approach saltwater kayak fishing. I can run farther and come back to land not feeling beat up from paddling/peddling to and from locations. Its super light weight and doesnt take up hardly any room in my Vibe sea ghost 130. What great power it has from such a small jet motor as well. I can run, with paddling, about 8mph when paddling hard and on speed 6 run a steady 4.5mph unassisted. If youre on the fnc I say pull the trigger and get you a bixpy! Best decision Ive ever made for my kayak journeys.

Extremely, Extremely satisfied!! Its everything that was promised and more.... Love it!!! I preordered my Bixpy in the fall of 2016, before they went into full production. I received it a few months ago and got right out on the water. I have it mounted to my Hobie Outback, and purchased both mirage mount and rudder mount. Works great either way. Top speed I was able to get was 4.5mph. Multiple forward and reverse setting give me plenty of choices in speed selection. I primarily kayak fish and bought the Bixpy to get me to the fishing ground and back with a some trolling throughout the day...My biggest concern was the battery life. Pleasantly surprised I havent run out of power (usually out for 5-7 hours on the water running bixpy motor on and off). Cant wait for spring to get back out on the water. Planning on buying a second Bixpy this spring for my other Hobie kayak.

I got the chance to use a bixpy on my friends 12 “riot kayak. Performed super well! I have another buddy who has it on his Hobie kayak, and it towes both of us at a pretty decent speed. I use it when I go out to La Jolla all the time. Super useful for coming back in after a long day of paddling. Grass doesn’t seem to affect the motor, however sea weed does. It’ll get caught as your steering, but it’s not a problem, all you do is lift up the rudder and the sea weed floats off without damaging your system. I met the owner and staff during the Long Beach Fred Hall, they are super friendly, and excited to tell you about their product. They have great customer service, I would definitely recommend you stop by their shop if you’re in the area.

Been kayak fishing offshore on Oahu and needed the assist and assurance to get back in on windy days. Purchased the outboard jet motor, battery and rudder kit for my Ocean Kayak Trident Ultra 4.3 and the installation was easy breezy. Just had to change the rudder bracket and rudder, and was able to use my existing foot controls.Ive been able to attain a top speed of 5mph on my fully weighted kayak, and have run the motor at less than half speed with me leisurely paddling along, maintaining a cruising speed of 3 - 3.5 mph. A 5.5 hr trip running at mixed speeds left 2 of the 6 battery levels intact.I like that I can still paddle and get my exercise but have the assist so I dont have to strain against the wind. Its also really helpful that the motor keeps me on my spots while I fiddle with my tackle.Bixpy support has been awesome too. Im a very happy customer!

Husband and I both use kayaks. We recently moved near a large lake that has some great fishing. I got tired of paddling on a lake with some wind, so decided to get a water jet motor and Bixpy had the best ratings. I love my little motor and makes fishing on the lake much more enjoyable! So I have been looking into making my own on board motor for my fishing Paddle board because that thing is kinda of a pain to paddle around and enjoy fishing. While doing research I stumbled upon bixpy and was wowed by how this motor preformed and was designed. After doing MANY hours of research and watching videos on YouTube about it I decided to pull the trigger. I absolutely love this product! I now have a choice to get a good exercise in or have a nice stroll to my fishing spots. That plus I have way more range now! This battery is serious and lasts all day. If at full speed it still lasts a couple of hours. It’s always fun to see people trying to figure out what’s pushing me so fast through the water. Customer service to me is an absolute and this company has some amazing customer service as well! I guess my only complaint is that you definitely have to get into the water to attach to a SUP so just wear some water boots summer time that’s no problem but in the winter it kinda stinks. Couldn’t recommend this company and their products any higher. Can tell this company takes pride in their products and customers.

Bixby j2 has far exceeded my expectations. Well designed, engineered and built.I am a seasoned citizen and I put it on my inflatable kayak and play with the dolphins and manatees onthe mosquito lagoon. Sometimes I even catch a fish. The Bixpy K1 outboard kit is the juice. Super compact but pacts a punch. 6 hours of fishing and only used 2 of the 6 bars of battery life. Was able to reach 3.3 to 3.5 mph on my own. I also shuttled my buddy around who didn’t have a motor on his yak, and reached 2.5 mph while doing that. Together our total weight had to be around 400lbs but the Bixpy handle it like a champ. If you’re considering tournament fishing, I’d definitely get the pro angler battery. Hope this helps, highly recommend!

Game changer!!! Had two experiences that comes to mind...A year ago I went around 450 Sq acre lake (4to5 miles around) at half speed on my kayak. I forgot to charge battery that night. However battery lasted another full day the next day with still 2 remaining bars on the battery, on a lake thats slightly bigger then previous.2nd occasion was 2 weeks ago a storm came in unexpectedly the gusty wind blew me away from ramp/launch creating massive waves. Just the paddle drive itself couldnt move me anywhere. So I full throttle my Bixpy and was able to shred through the high waves and got back to boat launch in one piece.I also wanted to give customer service a shot out. The first month of owning Bixpy, my battery kept cutting out. First attempt, without questioning me they suggest for me to send it back while theyll send me a replacement. Was back on the waters within a week. Great job!

I’ve been kayak fishing for several years now. I fought the idea of a motor because a trolling motor was so large and I wanted to stay a “pure” kayaker. Glad I came to my senses! I love the weight of this unit. I used to spend more time getting to my fishing spot than I did fishing. The Bixpy motor has definitely improved my ability to get around with my Hobie Pro Angler. I would like to add that the battery set up is light and holds a charge for much longer than I thought it would. I purchased the new K-1 motor and it works very well. Another advantage with the Bixpy motor when mounted with the power pole adaptor to the Hobie you still have the ability to peddle the kayak at the same time you are using the motor if you want. After using it for almost two years, Ive experienced some issues(some were caused by me :) ) and Bixpy customer support has been exceptional. Always timely response, fair and very understanding. I am so impressed with my Bixby motor that I bought a year and a half ago for my Hobie PA12 kayak. It’s light and built well with quality parts. The relatively light battery lasts me all day running at 2.5 mph. When it’s a hot day in the summer, I love having the motor get me back without peddling. And I can leisurely troll back. I usually cover 6-8 miles. Top speed for me is 4 mph…..but I rarely run that fast. I have never had any issues with the motor or the battery. There might be bigger, heavier, faster motors…..but I don’t want to have a car battery in my kayak. I want it small, light, and reliable. That’s why I love my Bixby and recommend it to everyone. Love my Bixpy Jet. Best add-on you can get for any fishing kayak. 12 forward speeds and 3 reverse speeds allows me to cover all of my favorite fishing spots. I recieved one of the first shipment of Bixpy J1 in March 2017 and took it to task by paddling a 6-7 mile trip from Baldwin Beach to Vikingholms Castle. My kayak at that time was a 15 ft. Inflatable kayak that was acting like a barge in the Washoe Zephyr winds. Subsequently returned every year and switch to a Vibe Yellowfin 130T, another large sized kayak. Just returned from Lake Tahoe last week and happy to say that the J1 was still performing admirably, albeit battery life is shorter since the battery was original equipment. I have a Hobie Outback, and have been pedaling the mirage drive for years. But, now after a pair of knee replacements that werent the panacea I was hoping for, I couldnt pedal any more. The answer? A Bixpy motor! I got both the rear mount and the mount that fits where the mirage drive would go. It is awesome and has allowed me to get back out on the water! I also have ordered some parts as back up, and the service and timely delivery were super! Purchased the K-1 outboard kit and a thruhull adapter for my 2015 Hobie Outback in late May.I was unable to mount the motor to the thruhull adapter without help from Bixby. The screw holes did not line up properly with the holes in the motor. Then, the nuts would not catch threads on all of the screws once they were final inserted and pushed all the way in. I used the screws and nuts that shipped with adapter. There are two screw lengths, which confused me at first. Bottom line, the screws from the adapter package were not the correct screws according to Bixby staff who had to mount the motor to the adapter for me with screws he provided. Good thing a live close to the Bixby facility.When I put my boat in the water the motor/adapter fit well into the hull opening by following the directions given in one of the videos showing the angle for insertion.I put the battery behind the seat as instructed in the video but now the power cord is too short. Nothing mentioned about the length or the cord at all. )Bixby is happy to sell me an extension. Thanks, I guess.)So now I have to figure out where to put the battery. It ended up hanging awkwardly out of the bow storage.The motor performance is really impressive. Top speed is surprisingly fast. The maiden voyage was approximately 1 hr 20 min. About an hour at half speed. Ten minutes at speed 7 or 8 and another 10 minutes at top speed. Good battery performance too. The battery has three led lights after the trip indicating about one-half charge. This is great for me. I was concerned the smaller battery would be limiting but it will do very nicely for me.One other note, during the trip I crossed through some eelgrass which fouled the propeller (impeller?). The motor stopped and beeped loudly several times telling me something was wrong.After checking battery capacity and connection I checked the motor. It was really clogged. So stay out of the eelgrass. The clog was easy to remove because I have a thruhull adapter. If the motor had been rudder mounted, cleaning it would have been much more challenging.So, overall, an impressive piece of equipment. I’m very satisfied with the performance. Bixby only gets four stars because their communication and customer service aren’t on par with their marketing.

I rock the j2 motor on my hobie oasis. I use the mirage drive adapter with it in the front and pedal in the back. It’s like having a pedal assist bike on the water. It’s not only easier to get where I am going, but it helps my boat to track better in the water when the wind/waves/weather is less than ideal.

I bought a Kayak and I then bought the Bixpy motor to power the kayak. Omg it’s the best I’ve used it fishing many times about 6 hours each time and it still gave me full power. The wrist control is so convenient, press a forward or reverse button and it turns on in the direction choice. Oh Stop button instantly stops drive. It’s not as loud as a trolling motor so perfect stealth approach. I’ve paddled before but this leaves you so tired .. but with Bixpy you are not going to wear yourself out. When you tap the forward button few times you actually go pretty fast, very nice to know you have a speeded up option. Super glad I own a Bixpy.

I love my Bixpy motor and use it all the time on my tandem Hobie kayak! They have amazing customer service - when I broke my motor mount by running aground onto the beach (my fault!) they repaired it and it came back looking like new. I love the bixpy trolling motor & battery!!! They are both so lightweight & easy to manage. I have a tandem hobie compass & it fits right in the drive hole. I’ve had other trolling motors that were very heavy & the batteries that you have to use with them we’re also heavy & if I ran it for too long the motor would overheat, it ended up being more work than fun. The bixpy is all fun all the time.

Excellent product and customer service. I have used the bixby motor and battery multiple times on my hobie pro angler 12 with the hobie power pole adapter. Installation was simple utilizing provided material and videos. The range of the motor is outstanding and provides enough power to move the kayak at about 4 mph under full power. At moderate power it will move the kayak around 2.5. It’s not extremely powerful but allows you to relax and still get to your locations. Not to mention the whole unit weighs in at 9 pounds and provides for rapid installation. Overall amazing product.

I was a backer of Bixpy’s J-1 jet - owning both the scuba jet and the outboard battery model. The scuba jet is lots of fun and the kids throughly enjoyed it. The outboard jet is small but packs a real punch and is an excellent compliment for my Hobie kayak. We have the rudder adapter and are able to use the pedals as well as the motor to really move. We recently upgraded to the J-2 and Bixpy improved on an already great product. Another thing you can count on from Bixpy is excellent customer service - specifically Wendy. I am currently in the market for a electric motor for my Hobie PA14. I have been trolling YouTube for product videos. Some brands appear to be rather cheap and have mixed reviews. We received the first of our Bixpy® Jets in September and thoroughly put it through the paces over several weekends. It was used in a Mirage Drive® configuration on both our Hobie® Revolution® 13 and 16 kayaks as well in the Hobie® rudder configuration on the Revolution® 13.It performed flawlessly even in 15-20 mph wind and whitecaps!! Plenty of motor power and battery capacity.We received several puzzled looks from other kayakers and onlookers from shore as we passed by them. Back on shore, there were a lot of questions from them. We ran through assembly, setup and brief explanation of capabilities as well as the added benefit – the versatility to be a snorkel or diver propulsion vehicle using a different battery. Simply phenomenal service...I had an mishap while canoeing on my Hobie mirage pedal drive with the Bixpy motor attachment. I hit a hidden rock at high speed and pretty much destroyed my rig. Water got in the motor and battery pack was damaged. Daniela over at Bixpy support offered me to send everything back to them to see what could be salvaged, instead of immediately pushing for a costly replacement of the battery, pedal drive shaft and motor.They followed up quickly on the status of the repairs...They were able to fix the battery (core was intact), offered me a discount on a new motor (damaged one could not be saved because salt water was left in there for too long before they received it for repairs).They also threw in a new battery remote and battery magnet so I have the latest models!
