Customer service was poor and I’m being nice .Wanting to support local business I went to the store this morning. I wondered around upstairs looking for help finally found someone who pointed me in the direction of what I was looking for while they walked away. Best part wasn’t there, I finally found what I needed then grabbed a bag of potting soil, no one to help me carry the bag down the stairs to pay. No hello or anything, there was a blank stare, that counts right?

Initially, I was recommended this place to buy command hooks for a painting and metal work that I needed to hang in my apartment. I bought 4 command hooks (all metal), and brought them home to use. Within 10 minutes of working to hang the hooks, the tape lost all of its grip and wouldn’t hold the weight of my items. I brought them back to the Ace hardware on Anaheim instead, where they proceeded to tell me each and every one of the hooks was defective. They also proceeded to tell me, the ace hardware on 2nd is MORE EXPENSIVE, then this one on Anaheim. I ended up purchasing new hooks from ace hardware on Anaheim (which worked perfectly!), and from now on, this is the ace hardware I will be using. Do NOT use the one on second street!!

A hardware store that takes you back to the 70s &80s. You can find just about everything and the helpful staff are all over while you shop. Too bad the big boxes have killed many like this one. I will go back just to explore.

This place is great! You always want a local hardware store in your neighborhood. Billings Paint & Hardware is located in the Belmont Shore community of Long Beach 90803. They always seem to have what I need. How do they do that? Great helpful staff!

Paid for parking, was told I couldn’t have a couple of boxes out of the stack of empty boxes in the back, then spent $17 on 3 medium boxes. Woohoo! Summer was nice though.

I’m giving this place one star because they don’t update their Google listing hours, and I’ve been here at least three or four times when it isn’t actually open. Waste of time. Please update

Whats not to love about a local hardware shop on 2nd Street in BS. Been going to Ace Hardware for years. Love the assistance I get every time I go there. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. So convenient having them in our community over the years. Hate going to Home Depot just to get a light bulb and spend 15 minutes just to get to the correct aisle. Highly recommend!

Its a local hardware store that has literally everything. Ive gotten locks, let copies, screws, paint, holiday lights, birthday candles, a hose, etc. They have it all and always have plenty of staff to ask questions. Which is recommended because I never know where anything is in their tight, labyrinthine corridors. Seriously it is both claustrophobic and kind of cozy in there. Their prices are a bit higher than online but its local and convenient. Highly recommend. 10/10

I love all Ace, but this one especially. The staff is always friendly and helpful. My wife loves their eclectic Christmas ornaments they have every winter. They have a great paint selection as well.

This is a nifty little neighborhood hardware store that has all the standard stuff youd expect, plus they have an unexpected section of beach toys and gear.I came in here literally just for nuts and bolts, but I was impressed by how much merchandise they were able to organize into a relatively small space. Staff was very helpful and polite.

Slice of heaven BILLINGS ACE is a great store for many reasons.I stopped going to those 2 ace hardware stores owned my a rude man and his rude son the one on 4th St and the other on Anaheim in Long Beach 3 yrs ago. Id been treated with neglect, rude pampas, snotty unfair biased male chovenistic behavior. They approach assuming women dont know what they are looking for. Or dont approach at all leaving a woman hanging, passed up for an hour in a space 20ft x 20ft, those children never know what and where things are its the tiniest silly space anyhow certainly cant be called a hardware store,And it was I who always had to teach them. Exhausting.Anyhow---BILLINGS ACE HARDWARE on 2nd Street, LB is exactly what an Ace is supposed to be. Built on knowledge, family values, customer care and friendly well stocked diverse relaxed but very efficient atmosphere. Its how it was designed to be pleasant and full of possibilities and everything extra you didnt expect and always, always kind helpful staff..As an artist I rarely am looking for hardware for typical purposes and always looking for solutions to a Creative endeavor that isnt easy to describe but at BILLINGS Not one time has anyone in 16yrs EVER SAID TO ME you cant use this for that or, thats not what thats for or anything along the lines that would make anyone feel like they dont know what they want or need or came for.And I do. I only just came to buy it.So its a refreshing experience evertime at Billings.what I dont need an education from a closed minded sales person. Like while entering the either of the other 2 aces in LB,My education and inventory of Art supplies in my 2000sf loft studio FILLED with hardware, equipment, machinery and tools isnt tattooed on my face but it shouldnt have to be. I should not have to state my resume just to buy a nut. Geez THANK GOSH FOR BILLINGS ACE ALWAYS COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL.Billing is perfect. All good Ace hardware stores should make you feel at home. Just as BILLINGS does EVERYTIME.In Long Beach we ONLY HAVE ONE REAL ACE HARDWARE STORE thats BILLINGS ON 2ND STREET .any other is a rediculous idea of what they THINK is ace is.BILLINGS ACE is the REAL DEAL ACE HARDWARE STORE

Fantastic neighborhood resource and great hardware store. The staff are knowledgeable and very friendly. And the stores much bigger than it appears from the outside with 2 levels. They have almost anything that you could need. Highly recommend!!

I forgot how great an old school hardware store is for finding random items. Believe or not it is hard to find a store to buy stock matches these days. But they had emergency! People there helpful. Nice feeling, small town customer service and products.

Just got off the phone with an employee from this location another horrible customer service experience. 6 minutes until closing called in to see if there was a specific part I had the part number he would not check the computer or go check to see if the part was on the shelf because they were closing and he reiterated that two times to me and then told me to come in tomorrow or call back tomorrow cuz theyre about to close they just threw away business or the owner because he didnt want to go check to see if they had a part number cuz they had 6 minutes to close and he wanted a close another horrible customer service experience come on guys you work customer service be glad to have a job sure the owner would not be very happy knowing that youre turning down business when youre still open. Staff is so helpful. Their prices are a little higher than other stores but rents in the shore are crazy high. Doug Billings has been a champ during the pandemic to try and get the ppes everyone was looking for. He is, in my opinion, a community hero.

Ive heard there is one helpful person in this ace but Im sure he must be over worked because Ive never met him. Asking for help in this store has been a terrible waste of time. They call every person in the store who say they dont have something, but in my experience at this store that means absolutely nothing. Maybe the toys outside are fun for the kids, but their hardware is more expensive than any other store in longbeach and for some reason most of the staff are too young to know a bucket of paint from an axe. I recommend the store on 4th street a couple of miles away or on Anaheim if you actually need something for the house

The antithesis of the giant box store hardware store, but still with everything you need around the house (just a smaller selection than the bigger stores). My wife bought some tools and I tried to return but they refused to take back 3 items because it wasnt on the receipt. While we only have one receipt that was given. Its obvious that the cashier made a mistake while processing and now you guys dont own up to it.Customer service has been the worst in this incidence, at least I could have been offered store credit if not full refund. Your cashier and manager have not only successfully provided a poor service, but also lost on a regular customer. Never coming back and would not recommend others to either.

A great local institution. Its two stories are packed to the gills with a wide variety of hardware. They also have a considerable seasonal stock that rotates through, so if you need beach toys or Christmas ornaments this is a good place to check.

Billings is a Belmont Shore institution. They have absolutely everything, from those funky old glass fuses to canning jars. If you havent bought it before, ask. They know where everything is in this little hardware store, which is packed to the gills. Great, personable service. Love this store!!

Im here a lot. Its like Mary Poppins bag or the Tardis... Smaller on the outside... I love that I can walk in and find what I need... Wall anchors? Yes. 6ft ladder? Check. French press? Yup. Great hardware store packed floor to ceiling with everything and anything you could possibly need. They also have a nice selection of beach accessories like coolers & beach chairs.The service is always first rate and absolutely worth the hassle of parking on 2nd street.I especially appreciate the paint department as they always get me what I need quickly.
