I had forgotten how well stocked Big 5 stores are. Almost everything you need for camping, sports, fishing, and outdoor recreation. I was their for a pair of sneakers. They have a decent selection and great prices, especially if you catch a sale. Top brands and an actual staff person to assist you. The only drawback I encountered was that I wasnt able to get a choice of color for the pair of sneakers I bought. However, the Skechers I bought were a good fit, and I will get used to wearing black sneakers again. Great place, staff was helpful, and its still in business. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I went to this store May 20, 2024 around 4:20pm. I was greeted by this lady at the counter with a sarcastic “good afternoon”. I didn’t think of it much at first.I was looking for pickleball paddle so went around the store and found where the paddles where. Since they were locked, decided to look around the store more. After a while, I saw the lady staff fixing the paddles assisted by a gentleman staff so I went to them to see the paddles I was interested in. I pointed to the lady the paddle I wanted but she shoved me off as if telling me not to touch the paddles, as if I was going to steal the paddles, so rude! I just let it go and told her which one I liked and she gave it to me. After checking the paddle, I told them I was buying them and the gentleman staff proceeded to the counter for my transaction.While transacting, I casually said that it looks like they’re having a tough day but he just stared at me. I asked if that is how they treat there customers with rudeness, but then again he kept silent.I got so pissed off that I didn’t continue with my purchase and just left.I’ve been to this store plenty of times but I didn’t experience such rudeness from the staff until today. I felt like I was treated like a thief or something. I am a paying customer and with these staffs attitude, I am definitely doing my business somewhere else.

Can have decent ammo at times. Handful of stock of match grade stuff. Decent place to get your fishing and crabbing supplies. Hunting/fishing licenses.. Small snare cages go fast though. Hours have changed as well.. posted updated posted business hours as of 5/11/2022

Today, September 12 at 8:05 or so, I arrived in great need of some shoes to work with and no one wanted to help me. I asked if they spoke Spanish and they started laughing and we waited for someone to help us and no one came to our attention. Its incredible that Treat your clients that way, a bunch of fools who believe that because they are not here, they believe that they can belittle an immigrant just for not speaking English. Besides, the ones who serve this country the most are us immigrants, but hey, I hope they do something, this was the day. today September 12 at 8:05 pm

If you are a fisherman like me and all you need is a fishing or hunting license, stop here Big 5 Spotting Goods sell it.No need to go to a busy Mall, get it here in and out in a few mins.Now lets go fishing😎👍🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣

It was OK. I came looking for bargains and found a few. About the only sporting like place in area. Got camping gear good stuff in a pinch. Post Xmas23 needed some cold weather gear.found most of what we wanted, and a few werent expecting. Its not Rei, but it beats most places in general areas outside SF.

Decent prices and quick service. Came into town for work and had to pick up a pair of shoes I could wear around town and for hiking, and that wouldnt break the bank. The gentleman in the shoe sales department this afternoon was very helpful and was able to help me find a pair within just a few minutes.

Great, as far as Big 5 goes., One of the managers was on some kind of agenda and polluted the atmosphere. Other than that, with the help of a very nice salesperson I was able to successfully spend more money than I intended to. Got a great deal on some headphones, retailing at $80, I got them for $20. They are exceptional.

Really helpful staff! Young man went to look in the back multiple times to see what they had. When he couldnt find what we were looking for, he actually found something else and made a recommendation. Perfect recommendation, even better than what we wanted. Prices were reasonable and the variety of sports and recreational activities is always impressive. Every time I go here I find what I am looking for, and staff is courteous, professional and helpful. Hard to beat.

I been coming to this store since I was a kid with my dad and I always enjoyed it. But now coming here as an adult I did not the like the vibe I got from the employees and the manager too. I understand these are low paying jobs but you have to make the best out of it and make people feel like there welcome and be thankful to customers supporting your small business as back in the 90”s this was the spot and no is longer the Big guy anymore.
