The most inefficient place for online pickup. Everyone just points fingers at each other. Nobody gets the job done. They always have people waiting for longest than it should.

Horrible experience with the cashier at 2 pm on April 13. 2024. Grabbed 2 bottles of wine and just got in line. I was chewed out and told to go find the like starts here sign, she would then tell me when to come get in line. I believe she was racist, and was very irrational and rude.

I placed an online order and it was ready slightly early. The staff there are wonderful. Mike helped me load the car with my (large) order and also helped me make sure the whole order was in tact.We had a large party and ended up overbuying. I called and Larnel was super helpful to arrange a return. I returned a bunch of stuff and Larnell (same gentleman that answered the phone) helped me process the (slightly messy) return. He was so patient and kind.Also, the woman working the register both times I went by was super nice, welcoming, helpful. The security staff there are welcoming and kind as well.The store is clean and organized, the snack section has literally every snack imaginable, and the location is perfect right in Jack London square on the water.Lastly, the Gopuff ordering from this place is almost impossibly fast and efficient and affordable 10/10 can’t recommend it enough!Huge thank you to Larnell and Mike for making what seemed like a stressful/daunting task for my event be a positive and pleasant experience. Whoever does hiring here knows what they are doing! Cheers!

Great location with wide aisles and s great selection given its moderate size. Very good prices on high end items. They were selling a bottle of whistle pig boss hog 14 year for a 100 dollars less than anywhere else Ive seen.

For about 5 years, I’ve spent $300-$400 a week at BevMo embarcadero for a local club. Suddenly, they no longer supply standard size shopping carts, only the tiny double decker type. I’d need 10 of them. When I mentioned that and asked to borrow a flatbed cart from the back (there were at least 5 lined up not being used) I was told, “I guess you better make 10 trips.” And it was said in a rude manner, she didn’t hold back the hatred at all.I guess I’ll take my money to a real store with shopping carts where I’m not verbally attacked.Update: like a fool, I tried again.For several years, the registers haven’t worked due to “internet is out”.Several. Years.Other stores in the same building have never had a problem. Other BevMos don’t have this problem. Buy a router already.So I put in an order with the BevMo app. There were items in the store that weren’t on the app, so I simply couldn’t buy them. Employees’ hands were tied, no way to help me. How is that smart business? Or business at all?Then I got no confirmation email or a receipt of any kind.

No one would answer the phone, when I was inquiring if they had a certain brand of wine. It said they had the wine when ordering but my order was cancelled and no one would answer the phone to see what was going on??? Why would a merchant, not answer their phone, on a Friday night, way before they close!!! Very lazy and unprofessional. It is happening more with customer service today. I’d think twice before ordering from Jack London Sqr, Oakland, CA.

The daytime staff in this place is consistently the rudest most unprofessional treatment. Theres an older (whitish) lady there with long black hair that will berate you if you approach her requesting an unlock. And then if you go to the front counter to request an unlock, you will be berated by a 350lb+ African American woman who will chastise you for not asking somebody on the floor.The daytime staffs only saving grace is the older African American gentleman who is always very courteous and customer service oriented, unlike the beached whale at the front counter.The night time staff is the only thing that grants this place any stars. Britney who is always attending the front counter is the nicest person and is always a bright spot in my day due to her wonderful attitude and strong customer service.I would recommend dont ever go to this place in the daytime because the chances of you being treated incredibly rude are very high.PS. This store also has a track record of super unprofessional security guards lurking around causing more trouble than good..

Well stocked and operated liquor and wine store. Generally good prices on the liquids-- but the snack items are consistently way overpriced. ($5 for a bag of pretzels?)The staff members with whom Ive interacted at the cashiers stands have been generally amiable and efficient.I havent yet had the need to ask a staff member about the wines and liquors that they sell, so I dont have any first-hand experience to say how well trained and knowledgeable they may be about their inventory.

Online orders are repeatedly short of what I ordered. Discounts are not honored when order changes and I am being referred to online helpdesk. I e-mailed Bevmo e-commerce support 4 times and left them a voicemail. Absolutely no response! Staff at this store is a mixed bag, from great to absolutely lacking in customer service.

A great store with knowledgeable staff. Only gripe if I may, whats online is not whats at the store. I made a special trip to get Stirrings cocktail mix that was in stock on line but not in the store, disappointing a waste of time, fuel and energy. No time to be going to different Bevmos when Total Wine and More has whats on their website and in-store.If products selling then order more and always have the product on hand, never run out!! The 5 stars are for the staff only.

Really going downhill since the company was purchased by GoPuff. Staff turnover is high, and the new staff are trying, but clearly arent getting the support or training they need from corporate. Delivery orders are being silently dropped routinely, and sometime still billed, requiring multiple contacts to customer service to resolve refunds.

Very big store! In addition to alcoholic beverages one side of the shop has groceries, frozen foods, etc. Its the only place around for a few miles. We didnt rent a car, so it was a lifesaver for us because there are no other stores around.

This location had several of the obscure specialty ingredients Id been looking for for weeks. Even better, most of the staff even knew what I was asking for (things like Orgeat, and Velvet Falernum). They have a convenient parking lot and you can pull up to the front door to load your car. Highly recommend this location!

We ate brunch here today on Fathers day and the restaurant definitely needs some help.I made a reservation for outside and the weather being super hot I wanted to dine indoors and was told that was not an option.The waiter explained that the food was running behind so advised we order immediately so we did.The food came out in a timely manner, but we had no napkins or silverware so we had to ask for them. We were sharing items so we had to ask for additional plates. We had to ask for salt and pepper, and ketchup.Lastly our beverages arrived when almost everyone had finished their food.The food was fine but I wont rush back to eat here.

Very handy.One of my favorite stores. I often come to jack London and like to nip in at bevmo to restock my supply of naughty sauce. The $.05 wine sale is always stellar. Loads of hard booze to float your boat. And beer buy the barrel, literally. The staff is always nice and glad to help out with this being something. The store is clean and organized. Really, you know you want to have a drink. The worst part is the Netflix effect after being presented with so many choices, its hard to choose!

Although I wonder why one is carded for buying juice vs. alchohol... one of the workers asked for ID on juice... he may need retraining or at least have better judgement of knowing who appears older than 21 vs. under 21. Aside from this, cool environment with some room for doing screening better. The best practice for business is to do better and acknowledge/accept your mess ups. Honesty saves everyones time and best apology is a changed behavior.

I dont go to BevMo! much at all, let alone any liquor store. But this has got to be one of the largest Ive ever seen. I had to pickup 22 bottles of champagne and a wonderfully pleasant girl assisted me on my search explaining the differences and she even helped me find a 2-for-1 deal which helped!You should be able to find all the major brands you could need and then some here. Large selection. Clean and great ambience. The workers I interacted with seemed friendly enough.

Bev Mo is a great place to shop. They have pretty much everything you need if youre shopping for spirits. Either for a party or just to replenish your own liquor cabinet at home or as a gift for some special occasion, Bev Mo has it all and then some!Store is clean and well stocked. And prices are very reasonable.My only recommendation is to have the Wine or Liquor tasting advertised outside to be going on inside. I havent been writing any reviews since pre-COVID but its time to start giving shout-outs to those working during this time and helping to preserve a sense of normalcy. I would like to recognize the folks working at BevMo in Oakland at Jack London Square. Ive been there several times now and its a non-stop hustle for them. It appears you can either order online or order at the storefront but you have to know exactly what it is you want. The staff is incredibly helpful and upbeat and the wait time feels nominal. Thank you for your hard work and keeping us well-supplied with our beverage requests, its vastly appreciated.

My first time visiting this BevMo in Oakland CA, I normally go to the location in Seattle WA. The store was clean and very well decorated for the Holiday Season. The staff and Security Guard were pleasant to talk with. It was windy and rainy, so they let us wait inside BevMo for our rideshare after making our purchase. As always the section was great.

The staff is lazy, online it showed they had 23 bottles of a particular item but there were none on the shelves, so I asked someone who looked like they were in charge or at least responsible for handling questions, he talked to someone on their walkie talkie devices, he kept saying the name wrong which I had to keep correcting, but they said they would be on the shelves, I said the one Im looking for is not on the shelves and they said oh then were all our, they never even attempted to check back stock, the cases come with 24 bottles and it shows they have 23 bottles so they obviously have a box somewhere in the back they would have sold if only they put in any effort to provide any level of customer service

Its always great to have a Bev Mo nearby and if you live in Alameda this is the closest one by far. The staff are generally helpful but sometimes the lines get really long so dont expect to quickly swing in to pick up that last minute item. The only reason I rated 4 stars is because the location isnt great and parking is either paid or a pretty lengthy walk.

There are some great prices on liquors in the BevMo. And for the most part, an enjoyable store. If beer is your thing (not mine), there’s a substantial section. For whiskeys, an average collection, much of which is priced well, som, not so much.All of that said, it would be helpful if the store could stock up on tonic water - Q, Fever Tree, Fentimen’s. There’s virtually none there. And there are so many great choices available now from all of these brands. And they’re also hard to find in neighboring grocery stores. So, BevMo, step up and get yourself in the G&T game.
