We booked a few rooms for our family at best western and it was a seamless process to get them all checked in (10 families). They were so organized and polite. They provided breakfast in the mornings (which was really good)! They enjoyed the outdoor pool and the amenities at the hotel

This is my go to hotel in the Porterville area.As I travel for work quite a bit, I’m always on the look for a decent place to spend a few nights.This place has been clean every single stay, and I do appreciate that the rooms have both a fridge and microwave, since I travel with home cooked meals.The hotel is located within walking distance of a few fast food joints and a grocery store.Perfect place for my needs.Will definitely be back 👍🏼

Easy check in, room was clean but a bit outdated. Shower was not functioning very well and we were told if we smoked in our room its a 250 fine. Yet when we woke the next morning to go to breakfast the whole second floor smelt of Marijuana 🙄

Ive stayed at this BW several times over the last 11 years, and have seen it go from a very nice place to stay to almost a Motel 6 style of a motel. Quite a bit of deferred maintenance.Room 105,1. The safe didnt work, I think it needed a battery. Wouldnt light up at all. I really could have used it, the kid at the counter didnt think I needed it.2. A really cool green stripe from top to bottom on the television. After a couple of days we got used to it. But, it was annoying.3. The toilet leaked a lot after every flush. Wax seal is shot on it.4. The shower valve needs replaced, just as much water comes out of the spicket as it does from the shower head.5. The bed was really bad. Some people might like a real soft and lumpy bed, but I dont.6. I dont know about the other rooms, but 105 needs a deep clean. Looking behind the sofa and entertainment center there is what looks like at least a year of dirt and trash hanging around behind the furniture.The one thing I will say about the Best Western in Porterville, CA. is they do offer a very good complimentary breakfast. Every morning I did look forward to the breakfast there.I do have family in the Porterville area, but to be honest I will be staying someplace else going forward. Probably Exeter or Visalia. Ive watched the Best Western in Porterville go downhill for too long. Its sad.Thank you.

Jada, (if she didn’t lie about her name) front desk was very rude and down right horrible! I asked for a manager she replied he went home like all working people do he’ll be here tomorrow! I couldn’t believe her non business skills! I was trying to book for two night, I told her I was a fire fighter. She still didn’t care treatment was sad. All good heads up. Update I just got a Military/Gov Rate! She lied Jada lied! I went through the app and then called a BestWestern reservation Rep she said there is a government firefighter rate. I was told by Jada one night would be (Thursday 169$ Friday. 269$) 269$ was crazy and no gov rate she lied and tried to charge me 100$ more! Be ware of this kind of treatment from Jada! Sad times! I payed 157.65 a night sad lies! I’m a dimond member with BestWestern Iv never encountered such an awful person at any establishment.

It was a disappointingreception we received from the desk attendant, but maybe it just wasnt her day! So, we returned a few hours later hoping she had warmed up... Otherwise our, more than a few stays, have been very nice. Plenty of ♿ & regular parking, convenient location, (in a seemingly safe neighborhood), very clean, with modern rooms & amenities. The Continental breakfast (until 10:00am) was very nice, best weve seen, fresh and well prepared offering a wide variety of choices. The motel is physically connected to a nice Dennys restaurant.

The hotel was very disgusting. The sheets had blood on them!!!! The shower had a line of dirt running down the wall. Get a receipt immediately once youre asked for a deposit OR YOU PAY ANYTHING AT ALL AT CHECK IN. They will keep youre deposit and then say they have no paperwork on any money you gave them. ASK FOR A RECEIPT AT CHECK IN!!!!!!

Place is disgusting! Passing through with myself and my mother there was this and a Holiday Inn which was unfortunately sold out. Room was fine at first sight, we had a long day in the morning found hair in the bed which was not mine (gross) I’m assuming the bedding wasn’t cleaned just made. Went to take a shower and a huge spider hanging out in the tub. Ants were all over the carpet. Got some coffee from the breakfast room and there were more ants around syrup sitting out on the tables. I called front desk before checking out to see if there was a GM or manager, was told there was not and a note would be left for them. Nobody’s called back, as expected.

Two night stay to attend my cousins wedding. Rooms were spacious and clean. Check in and out was fast and easy. Breakfast was great which includes waffles, pastries, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and bacon with much more. Would stay here again.

We stayed here in June to attend a wedding in the area and enjoyed our stay. A very friendly and accommodating staff all are outstanding! We had Room 265 with a pool view very quiet we slept wonderful for 2 nights. Room was very clean and bedding very nice! Free breakfast is great. We did use the pool during our stay and pool area is very well maintained. Only con as other reviewers have mentioned this is an older hotel in need of updating but cleanliness, staff and comfort overshadow this need.

We were very pleased with our stay at this location. The entrance was a well laid out, well furnished, clean and comfortable environment. Our room/ bathroom was very clean and spacious. Crisp, clean sheets. Soft top bedding. Comfortable beds, comfortable pillows. The hallways were well lit and also spacious and very clean air all throughout the property. My family enjoyed the pool which was also very clean and enjoyable temperature. The space around the pool was so nice and plenty of chairs and tables with large umbrellas to shade. We also used the guest laundry room. Excellent working machines and again area was very clean. In the morning we had coffee and the breakfast room was cheery, clean and well stocked. We needed a few extra things while we were there, towels, shampoo/ conditioner. Directions to the laundry room, etc. The staff was very helpful, professional and friendly. Even my 9 year old daughter said twice, “I give this place 5 stars.” We travel a lot and stay in hotels/ motels in many different destinations and all 4 of us were very pleased with our stay here. We will be choosing this location when we visit family in Porterville again.

Absolutely horrible customer service. False Advertisement and stupid owner. Had the owner laugh while on a call being the most unprofessional douchebag I’ve ever talked to. The cancellation policy states you can cancel the reservation at any moment before 6:00pm on the day of the reservation. However when I tried doing that, the idiotic owner laughed and made up his own rules on the spot saying I couldn’t and how he was going to charge my card regardless. Highly recommend to stay away from this place if you want better customer service, workers are Karens and simply braindead, probably why they’re working as a receptionist at a hotel.

Owner/Manager was very helpful when my work failed to properly book my stay. Staff was great, room was clean. Seemed like everyone I met at the hotel was in town for work, like I was. A special thank you as well for allowing me to park my Tesla right at the entrance to charge up. Small gym, nice jacuzzi and pool with a simple breakfast.

I stayed for 3 nights and had a comfortable stay. The rooms were pretty spacious and clean. The staff was friendly. The complimentary breakfast was decent. The ac sounds a bit loud. It would wake me up at random times of the night. Also, the door got stuck a few times and I struggled to open it but none of this would prevent me from returning. I’d definitely stay again in the future.

I booked a room for visiting guests and made a mistake on the room date, this was my fault. this resulted on a no show for the stay. This resulted in me having to make a second booking. Best Western in Porterville reversed one of the charges releasing me from a double charge. they saved me from almost $200. The guests really enjoyed the stay and I will continue to use Best Western for our monthly guests stays. Thanks to Jay and the rest of the best Western staff!

We checked in and were greeted by Alex at the front desk. We are staying in town visiting family and several of my family members made reservations here as well. Just as I was about to ask if we can be assigned a room next to them, she told me she already assigned our rooms all together! She said she noticed that all our reservations had the same last name. She assumed we were family members and that wed want to be near each other. I was so pleasantly surprised! Not only did she take it upon herself to do that without us asking, she anticipated it even before we even arrived! She wad kind, thoughtful, attentative and professional. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves!

The owner was disrespectful to me. The unit 221 air-conditioned didnt work the phone didnt work either. Its 100 degrees in Porterville 5-24-2022. I asked to move unit clerk assigned115. The phone wouldnt call the desk and the slide lock at the door was broken. I loved staying at this hotel, it was safe, clean, quiet and the breakfast was on time! The man who checked me in had been in the Navy like my father and son so that was cool. The pool was clean, the environment felt safe and it was well lit. There was a mini fridge and microwave. The hotel was easy access on and off the freeway for travel and close to everything I needed. The blackout curtains helped me sleep well and the bed was so comfortable with lots of pillows. The bathroom was spotless and I am usually picky about that. We will definitely stay here again.

The room was clean and comfortable. Except for some sticky substance (looked like marmalade) on bathroom and closet doors and ironing board (which I needed and never received the replacement). The bed was not stable. It moved around and was noisy. The remote and internet were not working properly. The coffee pot was missing and the hairdryer was not working. Which was a bummer. The Sunday morning front desk staff were not the friendliest or professional looking/speaking. I like staying at Best Western for their cleanliness and services, but this Best Western, unfortunately did not meet those expectations or standards.

Decent rooms Good location. Was there for work. Bathrooms need attention. Lights were burned out. Requested new bulbs they did not have any in stock. Fixtures required odd bulbs Shower curtain rod needed securing. Bedding appeared dirty and slept in but they immediately changed the bedding upon request. Really nice staff. Request the top floor if your a light sleeper. Upstairs you can hear the room above you walking around. Other then that I would stay again.

Staff is friendly and the place is kept clean. The rooms are currently going thru a face-lift process so you may notice some furniture boxes lying around and the old couches stacked up out back but the price is outstanding, the rooms are big and modernized. New furniture is being placed throughout, with plush beds and cushy sleeper sofas, the new modern designs are quite nice. If you would rather spend your time outdoors they have a lovely garden area with plenty of shade and lawn chairs to relax and soak up the summer. And, rumor has it, a new pool pump is being installed so cooling off this summer will be a snap.

Generally Im quite pleased with Best Western but this one in particular was not a good experience. I chose to pay double the price of the surrounding hotels/motels so that I would have a clean environment. The rooms surfaces had not been wiped down, evidenced by the food crumbs on the desk and sticky drink rings on the nightstand. The bed looked like someone had laid on it already. And there was a hairbrush on the floor next to the AC unit. I had already paid when I got to the hotel and the guy at the desk charged me again. When I asked him to fix it he said he didnt know how and would call his manager and then call me. I did not receive that call so I asked someone else in the morning. Luckily he knew how to fix it. Im giving two stars just because of the second man who helped me. He was perfect. Otherwise it would be a solid 1 from me.

We we’re given the wrong room key and walked into another persons room. No apologies from the owner and after requesting a refund he laughs at the situation and says he’s putting us on a list that doesn’t allow us to ever stay at their hotel again. He will not even offer to notify the guests we walked in on to offer them a refund unless they reach out to the hotel directly. They don’t care about the safety of their guests. We don’t feel we did anything wrong to never allow us to stay at their hotel again only because we requested a refund. The rooms are modern and upgraded, but are still dirty. Upon jnspection of my room, I immediately noticed the bathroom was not clean. Toilet had red hairs everywhere near the base and used bars of soap in the shower. The fridge was brand new, but barely worked. The TV had awful reception and, to top it all off, the sink got backed up. I stayed at this hotel specifically because my house had plumbing issues and I get this. Took them four hours to fix it and they couldnt have been slower. At $149 a night, this was a joke. Only reason I stayed here was because the Holiday Inn Express was sold out for whatever reason.

Its only getting 1 star because the room is clean. $1400 for 2 rooms that were suppose to have bathtubs & we got showers. We were told they couldnt change because they are booked up for the week. The young lady at the desk didnt seem phased one bit. So the pictures of the pool are incorrect. We booked this hotel for the pool!!! Hot tub has bugs but I dont want a hot tub in 100° weather. Stayed here on a weekend. Definitely a good place to stay. The place seems newly renovated, but at the time the elevator didn’t work so I had to take the stairs but that didn’t really bother me. I booked this hotel because it’s only an hour away from Sequoia National Park. There is also a free breakfast which included waffles, eggs and sausage, pastries, various juices and coffee, along with name brand cereals and yogurts. The breakfast was really good. I also forgot an item in the dining area, and got a call from the front desk to go and pick up the item I forgot, if you couldn’t tell yet, the staff is very polite and helpful.

Hands down worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Pool was green - the hallways had a musty odor. Our rooms fire sprinkler was literally hanging out of the ceiling. The drawers for clothes had crumbs from the previous guest in it. I would not ever refer this hotel. I would stay farther from our destination or book earlier to get the holiday inn express next door. The person cleaning room was in street clothes and no one knew if they were cleaning or going through rooms. The only positive was the front desk staff was nice.

Amazing stay. Last minute reservations but room was located in the back near the Dennys Restaurant which is literally on hotel grounds(5 min walking distance). My 4 year old daughter loved walking there for food. Near the laundry facilities and pool entrance (pool was closed) we did laundry. Room was perfectly cleaned and beds were so comfy and blankets were perfect. Down comforters!!! My go to hotel from now on.

Room was hot, I mean sauna hot when we arrived. As a courtesy to guests, please make sure the a/c is on in the summer months. Otherwise the room was clean, well kept and updated. Quality of the breakfast was great, quality you would expect of a higher tier hotel chain. When I checked out of the hotel, I advised the staff to send me the electronic bill. They said they would. When I check 4 days later I had not received the bill. I called and spoke to the staff and owner and manager. It seems like they never emailed me the bill and thought I was still staying there and had no record of anyone at the front desk checking me out on the day in question. I was staying there to assist with our fire team managing the Windy Fire on the Sequoia National Forest. I drove for an hour back to the hotel to speak to them in person but they werent going to change their minds they said. I now have to pay over $1200.00 out of pocket and I wont be able to be reimbursed as I was at another hotel when I noticed that they didnt send me the email. I tried to explain to the manager but he kept saying no and that the owner said sorry, but no. Its sad to see this happen to the firefighters trying to assist the community. This is very hurtful indeed.

I came in on my day off to help a local Veteran who was recently displaced from his home book a room because the VA could only leave them in a hotel for 21 days then they had to leave for 3 days. He literally had nowhere oto go and a service dog so I wanted to help him get a room. Until his money came in.. The front desk girl did not know what she was doing so she called another clerk to.help her. He said i COULD NOT PAY i would have to come back the next day (I could not i had to work)) so she gave me back my credit card and e left. Tuesday I get a call i.missed my booking to call hi. back. I told him.whst happened and he said he would refund my card. Then he called his manager and called me back and basically said tough I didnt have to sign for the credit card. I needed to come in and talk to the clerk who charged me. I disputed the fraudulent charge with my credit card company and they only credited me $187 of the $377 they charged my card. Dishonest hotel staff and manager.

Mid 2017- Mostly one night stays like truckers. We were there for a while and, while many folks who work there were just great, management seem lacking in their desire to make this older motel more pleasing. Housekeeping neglected our room once so had no clean linen, was out of the room all day... do not know why. Upon checking out, management guy said, did you enjoy your stay? When I began to say something... he gave me the bill and started talking, (socially), with someone else. Guess he didnt expect an answer, so we were just processed out. Overall kind of got the feeling it was a impersonal place for single night stays.

That held my money hostage that I was using to try to have a good vacation with my daughter. This is our go to spot when we go to Porterville to visit family! We have stayed here 3 times over the last 30 days, 7 nights total! The construction is taking a lot longer than we would expect, which is not too bad. However, the pool and hot tub have apparently been left with no one to care for them. With dirt and gnats in the pool and jets that dont work on the hot tub, when it is hot.The room is always very, very clean and we will definitely come back again!

Worst Best western in the the USA. Rude staff. Won’t give rewards points to corporate guests when charged to corporate card. Constantly under construction (last 7 years at least). I’ve never seen the elevators operational. Hallways blocked with furniture. No shampoo amenities in room. Fridge not plugged in. We only ever use as a last resort in Porterville. Almost better to sleep in the vehicle. I have no idea how this hotel keeps the BW franchise. An indicator of the decline of the BW chain.

My husband and I stayed here when I attended my 40th High School class reunion. We had a great stay and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean with nice decor, the bed was comfortable and the free breakfast choices included waffles, eggs,sausage, potatoes, cereal, yogurt, coffee and juice. This was also one of the few hotels in town that allowed a dog to stay (for a pet fee). We will definitely stay here again!

I will say that this time my stay was great the room was very clean and the a/c and heater worked great, this was a huge improvement from my last stay on new years the only reason Im not giving it 5 stars is because the Hot tub spaw was ice cold, I really was looking forward to relaxing in some warm water, other than that everything was good, breakfast was also good with the offering of eggs sausage toast cereal or waffles and yogurt, it was a good variety. First of all you dont even have your facts straight, I was there less than 24 hours and did not stay 2 nights. You are obviously a reactive person and dont care for the way your hotel is being run, maybe its just about the money for you.I have been in hotels all over the world and I know what basic cleaning is. You also charge a 250 dollar deposit, you dont hold it as most hotels do you charge right away and then it takes 7-10 business days to have money credited back. You own a hotel, hospitality is and should be your concern. Be the leader you are supposed to be. Check on your employees, check the rooms for cleanliness, do your job or hire someone who knows what they are doing.

There were blood stains on every single pillow case...if its stained with blood throw it away...even if washed its still gross. The pillow cases were quickly replaced with clean ones. They are in the middle or remodeling, but have a long ways to go. The seals on the doors that lead outside should be put back on theres a good half inch gap between the door and door frame. Im sure lots of creatures come into the building through that gap. Breakfast was awesome due to covid its prepackaged take with you food. They had breakfast burritos and they were so so good!

I had to make a late night booking for two rooms while on vacation through the best western main line because nobody was able to answer the front desk at the hotel.When I arrived, the attendant was helping an employee. The hotel check in staff wasnt helpful at all, he seemed bothered from the fact he had to walk away from his laptop to come check me in. I also didnt receive the wifi password. Not sure if this is standard, but my hotel key stopped working before 9am the morning of checkout, so i wasnt able to get back into my room after loading the car with bags. I was under the impression that the checkout time was 11am, as its stated on their website. However, when I checked out, they were super friendly.

We enjoyed our stay recently, however there is room for improvement in two areas. First, the maid showed up to our room at 8 am. That is way too early for a maid to give you a choice to have the room done or too bad. In fact, Ive never had a maid anywhere knock on the door that early. Many guests are still sleeping at that hour. That is unacceptable. Second, the shower heads are not adjustable and produce a wide fine spray that is not too pleasant. Staff left gift basket that we were supposed to get in another room, and replaced it with a lower quality basket. They cleaned the room twice during a five day stay, and never gave us clean towels. The iron in the room didnt work, which we needed to prepare cloths for the family event we were in town for. The building shows signs of construction work that needs to be finished, and the elevator has been out of order the entire stay forcing us to carry our bags up the poorly marked stairs. Which I am pretty sure hurts your standing with people who cant navigate stairs well. Speaking of which, there is no sign indicating where the stairs are, which I am sure is against California Fire Code. As far as not being under construction, that means that the unfinished sections of roof outside by the entrances and the big holes with exposed sheetrock by the stair treads means that you intend to have it look that way or dont care about the look of the building. We left this review before checkout, and did not threaten it. We felt like it is justified after being talked over when trying to give issues. After reading your excuses and blaming the customer attitude, we are still leaving the negative review. We did not ask for a free stay, but for a refund for the services we paid for but did not receive. You dont need to give us anymore reasons to not come back, but blaming the customer online may give other potential customers a reason not to come, and I hope that they dont.

The WORST experience I have ever had at a hotel!I am a Firefighter that was working a fire in the area. I stayed for 6 days and they didnt clean my room a single time. The lobby area was part of this construction so you had to go around to the outside from the front desk to the rooms in 100 degree weather in Porterville during the month of August 2017. The rooms were suppose to have two queen beds. The first room had a queen bed that wasnt made and looked like someone had slept in it. This same room had a queen bed frame that looked like someone was tearing it apart. There were wood splinters around and the mattress was on end up against a wall. As I was taking this all in, my sons came from across the hall to inform me that their room keys did not work and they could not get into their rooms. I went around the outside again to get to the front desk to inform them of the status of our room and that the keys to the second room did not work. There was another customer there in front of me who said that he had been given a room that already has someone in it and he had walked in on them. Then he was given key cards to a second room and the key cards did not work. I was given a new set of key cards for the second room. I returned to the second room and found that this new set of key cards also did not open up the door. My wife then informed me that there were a lot of ants in our room. I saw that there were ants in the bathroom and on various counters of the room. I decided to check out of this horrible hotel. I told the front desk person the condition of the rooms and checked out. This is the worst experience I have ever had in my life regarding the conditions of a hotel room. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Holiday Inn Express which is right next door to this hotel.

The facility was well equipped and well maintained. The staff was helpful and courteous. Breakfast was the standard fare, but nicely presented. Ill stay here again when Im next in Porterville!

I called a day ahead and asked about the pet policy, they said it was 30 dollars a night per animal plus the deposit and I was going to pay that price. When I came with my pet, they told me they did not allow animals at all. I am traveling and have no place for my animal.

I wouldnt recommend this place unless youre particularly into voyeurism. This is as far as the sheer curtains close... theres still a 5 gap you can clearly see through. I font need the kids playing in the pool to see me walking around naked. The heavy curtains dont close AT ALL, they are only for decoration. Meaning theres nothing stopping the blinding streetlight from keeping you awake, or the sunrise keeping you from sleeping in!!The wifi goes in and out constantly, and imo the bed and pillows are uncomfortable.Not everything was bad; the staff was polite, I like the bath tub, and theres a minifridge and microwave.
