Absolute hacks! (Car audio) DONT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR CAR. Frank is clueless. When they do it wrong you still have to pay them. (Picture) didn’t even bother connecting wires properly. Looks like a rats nest.

It was pretty good, kinda weird that they didnt have any registers open. I had to pay at the customer service desk, which was also not the actual customer service desk, but half of the Geek Squad kiosk. They had what I needed though, so Im not complaining.

A couple of months ago I was looking for a new laptop computer. I thought I would get another Lenovo or Dell. After talking to Gary, one of the advisors, he found a last years model Hewlett-Packard that is just as good and for a couple of hundred dollars less! I am very happy with it as it has been working great for me.I now just went in to look for a tablet and thankfully Gary was there to help me again and picked out a Samsung A8.Whenever I need to get something from Best Buy, I am asking for Gary 😁

15 month lingering issue of disappearing funds from my best buy gift card still missing- totally due to staff error end of 2022,+ staff deflection all of 2023, alleged finally resolved a few weeks ago when Is at the store for hours with all the receipts/ evidence ... eg I was promised a replacement gift card by mail within 10 days... has not arrived. . . but it hasn’t.. Supervisor phones and says to phone back but this store even early (10:20 on Tuesday morning should not be that busy - does not pick up their phone. So I end up off shored. Each offshored deadend they message the store to phone me back since I am by request returning their call, but they don’t. I would have thought at this point that this location would just give me the product i need. Ive spent hours and gas life/ business tech efficiency slowed. Good people but not effective to resolve. If this review doesn’t pop in fast resolve, next comes BBB & letter to Best Buy corporate CEO.

Went to inquire about Geek Squad installation of a mesh network. I had no appointment but only had to wait about 5 minutes. Got good information about calling in my request. Wandered into the TV department and a young man was very gracious and spent a lot of time explaining the differences in many TVs. Spent at least 15 minutes with us. Prices are at least as good as Costco. Best Buy is doing things right!

I was upset that at this location does not have a baby changing station in the woman’s restroom. They have the space for it in the bigger handicap stall or outside of the stalls, very upsetting that I had to change my baby outside in front of the mens and womans restrooms. It was embarrassing when 5 best hit employees and two customers were walking past us. Pictures have been added

I’ve bought 4 tvs from Best Buy over the years and the one time we get one delivered it shows up damaged and the “manager” proceeded to blame the damage on me. The box was damaged from the beginning and the screen wasn’t cracked until I turned on the tv is when I saw the damage. The “manager” then proceeded to say that because there are hand prints on the tv that it was a red flag for him. If I would’ve mishandled my tv i would’ve owned up to it and even more than willing to pay a difference for the damage i caused. But that wasn’t the case. I didn’t want my money back just needed a replacement. They were very disrespectful. Very poor customer service.

I used to love BB but Im done with them. We needed to buy an in-subwoofer from them. They said one of their people would have to come to our house to look at the proposed install. He came and said he would get the information to our contractor the next day. Two weeks went by and no one heard anything. Then I tried to call them and found out there is no way to reach anyone at a specific store any more without going into the store (I was out of town). Your only option is to go back to the store (25 minute drive) or the Indian call center can send a message to the store and have someone call me back. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK!! After several hours, I gave up and bought the subwoofer from Crutchfield. Im done with BB. No wonder they are having financial problems. They suck! Terrible customer service.

I have been a regular customer for years, but the first time I needed support, service was trash. (Im composing this review immediately after having left the store so that my recall is accurate.)I bought a mobile hotspot device (8800L) because my new homes local wired internet service is poor. I l ordered it through Best Buys online store for in-store picked today, August 16th, and grabbed it after work. Not knowing Best Buy sold me a defective device, I drove 25 miles home. Upon attempting to activate it, I learned that it couldnt find the Verizon network. I know the network is available, because my phone and tablet are on the Verizon network.I started with a call to Verizon. Although they remained helpful for 45 minutes, at the end of that time, they identified the sim card as the problem. Not having a free Verizon sim card, my only option was to return to Best Buy.I called first to verify Id be able to get help. Most options rang without anyone picking up - I was treated to 9 minutes of pestering IVR messages telling me to go to the website for product inventory information. I finay had to just hang up and call Geek Squad. I knew it wasnt their department, but at least they picked up the phone.Unfortunately, they gave me bad information, because they said I could bring the hotspot back for a quick sim card exchange. This turned out to be completely false.Because of my distance, and the amount of time I had already spent troubleshooting, I arrived 8:40. Customer service waved me over to the mobile department. The mobile department just looked up my account info, sharing amongst the two of them that they didnt understand what was going on.I told them multiple times that Verizon had already identified the problem being a defective sim card. Despite that, all they did was give me a sheet of paper with Best Buys activation assistance telephone number.They didnt give me the number until 9 PM Pacific, the exact time this supposed support line shuts down for the night.They didnt even bother physically inspecting the sim card until I insisted for a third time. They just looked, and refused to try substituting the card to test what Verizon said the solution should be.It no time was a manager contacted. In fact, after Id already told them about the distance I had to travel from, the technician told me they recommended showing up by 8 so they have time help, obviously having entirely ignored what Id told them already.I want to be clear that no one was exactly rude, but my experience can only lead a reasonable person to conclude that Best Buys staff is both uninterested in and incompetent at customer service.The result? Im stuck with an expensive broken brick, unable to do my work for days, and out hundreds of dollars. Maybe theyll deign to waive the restocking fee if I return it - of course, they wasted the 20 minutes I had in the store being confused, so the registers were already shut down by the time I had fully realized how much they were incapable or unwilling to provide help.If you want something electronic, dont buy it here. At least with Amazon, you can return a defective product without a ton of dispassionate runaround.

This place barely deserves one star. Their customer service is absolutely appalling. Went in and tried to get a phone screen replaced. We had to wait 45 minutes for Geek Squad to tell us that we were in the wrong line. Went to the other line. Said they’d help us, then straight up disappeared. If you want service with your phone, don’t go here.

Apparently the TV was shipped somewhere and lost in the mail! I get the run around. I was told to go back to the store and talk to the manager. I want to set up appointment but no luck! The TV is less than a year old!

I cant tell you how happy I am with the Geek Squad department. Now twice, theyve saved our expensive computers. The first time was during Covid and my son would have been hurting with his engineering college classes. At that time there was no inventory of anything. The part we needed, normally about $600, was over $1500. The Geek Squad alerted us that someone had returned one, and if we came in immediately we could buy it. What a life saver. That is when we became TotalTech members. The labor was free ! So after 1 day, my son was back at studying. This time, they did the diagnostics on my second sons computer. They found out the problem, recommended the part, and attached a link. I bought the part online and they saved me a trip back to the store. We were again up and running in 24 hours. Cost $65, labor free. Thank you Kolya !!! Get TotalTech if your home has numerous computers. Its $200/year, but you also get free 2 year warranty on anything you buy there. 😉 Thank you Best Buy !!!

We purchased an expensive camera from best buy nearly a year agoWe thought the camera had a 1 year warrantyInstead it has a 1 year warranty that was limited to the geek squad trouble shooting onlyIf the camera couldnt get fixed - then it was tough luck lolI want to note the followingThe staff in the geek squad was really awesome! Ive been shopping here for years. I mostly buy my electronics here. A few months ago I bought a lg c2 oled TV. I got the TV home wall mounted it and it had lines running down the screen. I looked on the web and others had this issue. I took video and pictures then went to return it. They treat you with open disdain. Like Im gaining anything from wasting all of my time exchanging for the same TV. Today my ten day old pc headphones started playing lots of static. The initial worker was helpfully and kind. She needed approval to do the exchange. The person doing the approval walks up and gives me a dirty look. Then asks me a few questions in a condescending tone. At this point I just ignored her not answering. Idk what has happened to the customer service here. I need to find somewhere else to get electronics.

My family and I will never return to this store to purchase anything after the unreal experience I went through today. I went to return an unopened item to Best Buy, which was a gift because I had recieved another apple watch from another family member. The person whom was helping me opened it a little and was then having a conversation with her co worker regarding a recent policy that had happened in December, the watch was purchased on November 26th. The guy had asked her to enter it as an opened item that there would be no difference. But she was telling him it was unopened and that she had opened it by mistake. The guy then informed me that due to a December policy for Christmas that because the item was expensive that I could not return it . That the system wouldn’t allow for me to return it whether it was entered as unopened or opened . I told him it did not make sense because it was unopened and it was a gift and that even if they could return the money to the card or as a Best Buy gift card that I would be okay with that . He said they couldn’t and their was no way to overwrite it on the system. I asked if their was any other solution and asked if I could speak to the manager, as the manager was passing by he spoke in a high tone saying I’m the manager and I explained I was confused because I was simply returning an item that was unopened which was a gift to me and I had recieved the same item from the same store from another family member. He went on to say that due to a policy in December because the item was expensive that I couldn’t return the item. The girl then mentioned that the item was unopened but she accidentally opened it . He then said what is he going to get with the money which is completely rude and non of his business, so I asked it it could either be put back to the card it was bought from or a Best Buy gift card if it made it easier. He then went on and told the girl to give me store credit so I can spend the money there at Best Buy. I had never experienced such a unprofessional customer service from best buy it was literally the worst attitude and help anyone could ever give especially during the holidays . The girl finished off as if she was printing my receipt and Best Buy gift card by telling the manager “thanks [Johnny]!” . I immediately called my family member whom gifted me the item and they also said they would never purchase anything from Best Buy ever again . Costco is right across the parking lot for anyone that needs any type of electronics and would not want to risk dealing with the same experience I went through today at the Goleta Best Buy Location. “Thanks Johnny”

I came in looking for a USB flash drive with windows on it. When I asked, what I assume to be, the manager, she cut me off mid sentence and walked away. Then as I tried to finish my sentence she just said no and continued to walk away. That was just incredibly rude. If youre busy I understand but you can be polite about it instead of interrupting me and walking away from a customer. It could have been a two second interaction whether you stopped to answer my question or not

Ive had positive experiences at this store multiple times. The staff is helpful and intelligent, answering questions I felt sure they wouldnt understand. As we are still in a state of emergency I will add that Best Buy has a very good system for curbside pickup. I actually ordered a large photocopier and the young man who delivered to my car was very helpful, wore a mask and maintained proper distance.

I went into Best Buy to get a new cell phone, they didnt have it in stock so we ordered it. Went back when it came in. I was very excited 😁 but I forgot I had to get a case for it, they didnt have one in the store so here we are placing another order, at least they were able to send it to me, week 1/2 later i got it so excited again!!😁 to my surprise it was the wrong one! Back to Best buy placing another order waiting another week or so, finally got it only to find out it was the same one they ordered for me before 🤨 third trip and 3 weeks later back to Best buy to Return it!!! I ordered an unusual and hard to find camera that I saw was somewhat cheaper at Best Buy than advertised on Amazon. I was notified that it had arrived for pickup before the date promised. After my pickup of the camera I immediately went shopping for and purchased a printer and the accompanying ink cartridges that were also cheaper than the same make and model advertised on Amazon.Both of the associates that I dealt with were very helpful. The one at the customer service counter is the same one that I dealt with on both on my order and pickup visits. She was very present, helpful and efficient and on my pickup visit she not only remembered me but also the product that I had ordered and was there to pick up.As for my printer purchase the floor rep was very happy to discus my printer needs and suggest the correct (not the priciest) printer for those needs. He was friendly, knowledgeable and an efficient gentleman.This is a vast improvement over my past visits to Best Buy which I must say was some years ago. But as of now they can definitely consider me to be a returning customer.

Geek Squad at the Goleta Best Buy took care of my iPad Pro problem in less than 5 minutes and did it for free. A simple fix that, even though I’d tried myself over and over, didn’t work until the Geek Squad tech had a look.The tech knew exactly what to do, and in under a minute, walked back out and handed me my 100% working iPad.I stopped by because I’d heard they’d be faster and easier to deal with than the Apple Store. Maybe so.

You are greeted as soon as you walk in and they ask you if youre going to need any assistance so they can put you on a list right away in order to minimize the amount of time you have to wait to be helped. They say good-bye when you leave and are always genuinely friendly and helpful. Thirsten has been a favorite fir a long time as he is always welcoming, friendly and offers a genuine smile every day! Yesterday I was helped by a young man named Kenny and he was awesome. He answered all my questions about the projector I was looking to buy and took me directly to the products I would need to set it up.

Once we located a representative in the section we were looking to make a purchase, things went okay. The salesperson shared unnecessary personal information but was helpful in spite of this. I think that we got a good value for the items we bought. I think I am turned off by too much personal info shared by the sales rep. We have spent a lot of money in Best Buy over the past year. Several televisions, 2 All in One Computers, an oven, a vacuum, 2 small appliances, $300 in miscellaneous equipment, a HP printer with extra ink and TOTAL TECH. We recently purchased an HP EVO 13” laptop for $1800 and just Friday I bought an Lenovo 15.6” Flex 5 intel5 2-1 laptop. So imagine my surprise when I am looking for sound equipment to go with all my new devices when the sales man JAY who sold me the laptop comes 3 days ago says to ME RUDELY, Jose cannot help you anymore, he has spent enough time with you. Decide what you are getting on your own. Excuse me? What? I am looking for a Deep Fat Fryer to make fried chicken wings, I don’t see one. He can’t help you anymore. JAY is just barking at me, I said don’t you remember me? He said you bought a TV. I said an $818 laptop!What choice did I have but to put all my Bluetooth, sound-bar equipment, and potential fryer down and leave the store. Oh and I needed ink, that I bought at Staples just now for $107.99 + $73.99. $200.00 in just HP ink. They lost a $500 sale and an excellent customer because JOSE was awesome and willing to help me. JAY didn’t want to help customers he wanted to tell people what to do. He told me what to do all right, he told me to never shop there again.Someone needs to know that JAY basically told me to leave the store. I have never been treated with such disrespect by someone while making a large purchase, after making a large purchase. I may return the laptop. I still have 11 days.

The people here at this Best buy in Goleta are so nice and helpful. you cant walk in the door without being greeted and thats top notch customer service in my book. Everybody wanted to help me and what I was looking for. All I asked was where was the item I wanted and I got an immediate answer which was accurate. I definitely recommend anyone to come here because of that welcoming committee. Anywhere you are in the store, you will be greeted and asked if you need assistance.

Id only give 5 stars if they had cheaper prices on some things BUT they do price match to major companies. Their staff is hands down professional and helpful. I do wish they had some extended electronic selections but nonetheless its a solid go to. I have been a longtime and extensive customer of this branch, buying all my TVs, computers, monitors, other gadgets there as my store of choice. In the past year our purchases have surpassed $5000. Up to now the service has been fine. However when we purchased a washer/dryer set to be installed by the Full Service Geek Squad service that I pay $300 a year for (1) the sales people never suggested to buy a separate vent system or even mention it, (2) the installers bring the set to our home, THEN observe there is no new vent system to attach to our vent, and leave without installing or even attaching the electric cord to the appliances. When I tried to call to complain to the manager, (1) the store says it is not taking any calls, and when I finally get a direct line to the managers phone via a corporate associate, the phone is answered with a message saying they are not available, and the message box is full. That is one-star performance to a customer who has totalled easily over $10,000 in purchases over time. Congrats, Goleta Best Buy, no longer my store of choice.

Dont ever consider upgrading your phone plan and/or phone at Best Buy. They misled us to believe that wed receive a total of $1,800 to trade in 2 phones to upgrade our existing Verizon plan and 2 devices.When I went into Verizon to trade in both phones, Verizon claimed that the offer wasnt valid and only gave us $880 in credit — less than 50% of what was included in the deal.Best Buy has pushed back and denied any responsibility or error on their part. All they offered was a worthless phone case and protective cover — nothing close to the $920 that were owed as a result.

This place is very good because its the only place in Santa Barbara with some nice technology for a good price, they have lots of different products for everyone and every situation. Some staff are friendlier than others, I have tried to ask some people for help and they seem to not care so much about assisting me or they are very eager to help out, not much of an in between. Overall its a great place to get most everything tech-related done on your list of stuff to do and I heard the Geek Squad is very helpful!

As the only electronics store for 60 miles in any direction, it is useful to have. Sadly, the variety of items featured in the store limit the choices of each category and the two day wait for Amazon delivery becomes tolerable. The retail scene is forever altered. I was a little perturbed that I had to drive 45 minutes to deal with a month old computer (open box) HP All in One desktop to begin with... I heard terrible experiences other customers had with this whole experience. I made my appointment with the Geek Squad and it started promptly. I was greeted by a nice young man (if a manager is reading this - I didnt get his name but he was working at 10am on April 30th 2019). He was very nice, and helpful. He was patient and kind with other people who kept approaching him during my time... keeping his focus on my computer issue. He determined that it was a hardware issue. Now generally, the reviews thus far for this particular issue open box with hardware problems normally ends up badly. I was warned by two separate staff that with hard drive issues I would be without my computer up to a month because they would have to send it back somewhere to be repaired. UGH. This was NOT the time in my year I could be without my computer... He said he would check with the manager on duty to see my options. As he left, I tossed out an Id happily take an exchange comment not knowing if he actually heard me... He did. The manager allowed me to get an exchange, which I happily did. I received the same computer, only the newer model, on sale and even better it was less money so I had a refund. I thanked the manager and told her i was ready for a battle, but was so happy and surprised that she made it so easy to exchange. Ive had issues in the past with Best Buy but Im happy to report it seems like theyve turned a customer service corner. I ended up spending the difference of 60 bucks in the store.

I bought an item online and picked it up at the store in Goleta. I thought this big box store would have some standards on selling used/open box/returned items. I drove 60 miles to pick up an item from Goleta, took it home, and to my disbelief the item I bought was not even close to what I had ordered. The box corresponded to the actual item I bought, but whoever returned the item switched it for a cheap product. What disappointed me was the fact that the store did not detect that, and even repackaged it and sold it online. Absolutely horrible.

I like having an alternative to Amazon! I went to buy a new monitor and related computer stuff. Selection is decent, obviously not as broad as Amazon, but I found an HP monitor at a great price. Sales staff is friendly, helpful and I know returns are easy if I have a problem. I like to support small business, but sometimes you have to support big box too, or theyll just disappear! Fantastic return / customer service experience. I purchased a home security camera and after using the other camera for a few weeks it failed. I couldnt get back to return it until after the 15 day return had passed. I wouldnt have been surprised if they told me to talk to the manufacturer, but they didnt. I didnt have the receipt, and I had lost the credit card I purchased it with, plus I had not signed up to their buyers program. So they had virtually nothing to find my purchase. I was able to get exactly what I wanted, did not have to get juggled between 5 different customers at the same time, and no one actually being helped. Making everyones time there longer, more frustrating, and unsuccessful (for me anyhow) . Most of the phone accessories/ protection devices were MIA as well. And if I remember correctly, last time I got my phone there (S9+) almost 3 years ago, it was the same thing. On top of the fact that they insisted on putting on my screen protector, only for it literally to just fall off 12 days later. And when I went in for the warranty which I purchased on it, they told me sorry, we dont do those here you have to send it in to them. WITH your receipt, etc, etc..... whelp, I think you have lost me and my families business! I appreciate the employee trying to manage it all, just not the corporation that puts their EMPLOYEES AND CUSTOMERS in that situation for their profits. This is a seemingly a small Best Buy, not sure if that is actually the case it if it was an optical illusion. They have a HUGE selection of unlocked phones from all brands. The wireless speaker section is pretty good too, and you can listen to the speakers play a sample. The video game section is not as expansive as I would expect.

This is a large Best Buy located in the Camino Real marketplace. It has its own little parking area so your not competing with the Costco crowd. Big place with all your electronic needs. I purchased a pair of Bose headphones and a 2 year warranty in March 2018 Great sound but I use them to exercise and one side stopped working. I took them in Aug 7th. They would not exchange them because even though they had the same model they discontinued the color and said they arent the same. Also I paid 98 but they offered me 49 because they had been on sale AFTER I bought them. They also refused to return my money. I could take a 49 dollar gift card or nothing according to them. They also wouldnt credit all my worthless warranty money. I have spent thousands of dollars at best buy over the years. This afternoon I went to buy a mouse and mouse pad for my laptop. When I first got there, someone helped me and told me where I can find the mouses. Then, after I got the mouse I asked where I can find the mouse pads. The young man seemed very confused and said that he didnt think they sold any. So I went in to buy a camera today, a process that should’ve taken about 10 minutes, and ended up spending more than an hour waiting for them to find an SD card. The SD card I wanted showed as in stock on their website and in their inventory page at the store with 7 of them being available but they were unable to locate them. Inconsistant service at this location. Stock numbers are always off. Once I purchased a $5,000 TV and was supposed to get a free external hard drive, but they were out of stock. Warehouse also ran out, and I never received anything... and that was the whole reason why I purchased the TV from Best Buy. Very disappointing.

I bought a Bose sound bar and sub woofer and was promised easy installation. It has been horrible. The Bose instructions are ambiguous and despite several attempts I was never successful in pairing the subwoofer. Attempting to get help, I downloaded Bose app to no avail. GEEK squad passed me off to TV and they dont answer their phone. Am returning sub Woofer with unhappy thoughts

Exceeded expectations. I recently went to Goleta Best Buy to buy a new TV and was determined to get a 65in Samsung. Steve was awesome and patiently spent time with me until we ultimately decided to get an open box 55in amazing TV. Between him Alex and a few other employees, we all had to search for the power source which fell behind one of the walls in the Magnolia room since this tv requires a specific power source and hard to find. After moving some TVs and furniture around, we got it. Amazing experience and super pro effort by everyone especially Steve and Alex.

I had to write a review for this because my friend and I basically were treated in a very rude and condescending manner by Gilead McGee, the Multi-Channel Sales Manager. I drove all the way down for two hours, bought the kindle fire on Thanksgiving Thursday for my niece, and spent 3 hours trying to fix the Wifi turning on/off problem. After struggling without success, I went to replace the product at the same store on the next day. When I explained my situation and asked for a replacement, Gilead came to me and my friend and told us in a harsh and condescending tone that We do not have this product anymore. You have to either get money back or buy different versions. I know you waited and bought this product...but you have to know that life is not fair. I ended up buying the next generation kindle fire...but I felt like my whole thanksgiving was ruined by that snobby phrases Gilead told me. I didnt ask for a life lesson of life is not fair, and I think it is very rude to treat your customer who have waited for an hour to talk to this manager. I didnt even feel like giving this to my niece, and thats why I would not recommend this place for any customer service.

Geeksquad what a bunch of scriptkiddies . I was trying to find out information to work there and what I found out was alarming. Going to the counter there was a customer who was having technical issues it seemed the geeksquad employee could not help him the 10 minutes I was waiting then I helped him to move it along took me three minutes. Then when I helped him another customer was asking questions about a simple wifi issue the employee at this time was extremely useless and struggling to grasp the concept of extending the WiFi range of a home net gear router. I helped this guy in 15 seconds . Then I spoke to the employee and found out no one at the store is a+ certified so clearly no one was qualified to work on other peoples computers for 200 a pop. I asked if no one is certified how can you tell who can really work on computers he said the proof is in the pudding and I said no the proof is in the certification. Then followed up asking technical questions he could not answer which scared me people pay real money to this geeksquad employee to help them.

If you want to have a wide selection of electronics in the Central Coast Area theres no better place than Best Buy that I know of they have a wide selection so if youre in a hurry this is the place to go they have just about everything there and the prices are better than most of the places in Santa Barbara I needed a battery for a phone and I didnt want to just get a regular what I wanted to get a high-capacity one and so they were the best option in town for me this visit was quick in and out and easy

They are the Best and they know their Stuff. I had a Jon come out to Install my Graphics Card and he was the best Computer Service Technician I ever Had. I found out how Best Buy is still in business with amazon and newegg around. Went in to buy a USB to mirco-USB; I was trying to price match the product I choose with a listing found online. They only offer their brand of cables, or others that arent offered on newegg/amazon. Cheapest cable I was able to get was about $16 for a 4 foot cord. Later that day I went home and checked what newegg had to offer, I got a 5 foot cable for 3.99; with free shipping, brand name samsung. If they doing this tactic on cables, what other products are they trying to overcharge you on?
