Ben is amazing! We chatted with him about a year before we ended up purchasing our investment property. He didn’t put any pressure on us and patiently educated us on the process and what a smart investment should look like. When we did purchase, he kept us well informed and was present the entire way through.

I highly recommend Ben as a real estate agent. He worked through a very difficult situation of a house in probate, and was very transparent in communicating the current status. He was proactive in checking out the property during winter storms and sent video updates (I lived about 200 miles north at the time).Ben is very knowledgeable about the area and gave excellent advice about options to consider when the court dates kept being pushed out. He worked very quickly to put together an offer on another house, which was ultimately successful. He helped arrange for work to be done on the house before I moved in and suggested a number of local contacts for cleaners and movers. In short, Ben goes the extra mile to make sure things are done right. Hes very responsive to answer questions and is very easy to talk with.He is a pleasure to work with and is always willing to answer my many questions.

Three years ago my husband and I relocated to San Luis Obispo from Cambridge, MA where I had been a successful realtor since 1998. Having begun a new career as a realtor in CA, we also began looking for real estate investment opportunities here. I was eager to attend an investment seminar hosted by Ben Tilbury. I was inspired by his presentation and scheduled a private consultation with him for the following day. At this meeting with my husband and I, Ben laid out a highly detailed investment plan based on our own resources and goals, local market conditions, financing opportunities, and his own prior experience with several successful projects. Ben was very attentive to our needs and answered all of our questions knowledgably and thoroughly. We were very impressed!Two weeks later, Ben called me with an investment opportunity I could not refuse. Long story short, we are now partners in a tax saving, monthly cash flow investment for my future retirement. Planned renovations got underway immediately upon closing of escrow. This was our first time buying a house and it was somewhat intimidating trying to do it on the Central Coast—Ben was responsive and didn’t pressure us on any decision or stage of the process. This review has been a long time coming! Ben was great to work with as my wife and I purchased our first house.Just like many other home buyers, my wife and I started out by checking out Zillow. After my wife and I checked out Zillow for about 6 months seeing homes we like get bought in a couple of days being listed, we decided it was time to finally connect with a real estate agent.We found Ben through our good friend in SF who is a real estate agent and recommended Ben. We reached out to Ben and knew from the first call, he was going to be our agent.He was very friendly, easy to talk to, expert in the market and professional. He went through his list of questions about our ideal house and we gave him our dream home in SLO and off we went. We checked out some homes that we were not in love with but wanted to be open to anything so we finally met Ben in person and checked out two homes--they were not really for us and Ben was able to recognize that. We were also very open in what we liked and did not like with those homes. Ben did not try to SELL us these homes. He was working with us in finding our home.The next day, my wife and I found a great home that was listed on a Friday morning -- we were set to leave town that day but we had a good feeling about this house and wanted to check it out ASAP. We called Ben and asked if we could get in right away. Less than two hours later, we were touring the house with him.We knew this house was the one. We also knew it was a hot market so we were realistic (ie we may have to offer over asking price, we may not get the first house we want to make an offer on, etc...). Ben was with us for about an hour as we talked/toured the home. He recommended we sleep on it over the weekend.We did and we still wanted to put in an offer--we worked with Ben who worked with us (ie our budget) in putting together an offer we were comfortable with.Then, about 24 hours later, our offer was accepted! We then worked closely with Ben on next steps and he guided us through the process (ie lender, insurance, inspection, termite company, etc...). He was great at explaining each step and was always responsive by phone, text and email.If you are looking to purchase a house in the SLO area, I highly recommend Ben! He was able to help us buy a house in about 5 weeks from first meeting him.A plus is he has a lot of contacts/experience in house remodels and provides great tips/contacts if you are looking to do a remodel/house update and to bounce your ideas off of.
