Loved this place! All I can say- the owners really try to add uniqueness and comfort to your stay, so many cute little features like a choice of your coffee maker (and great coffee!) high quality toiletries, yoga mat, dumbbells, beach bag in the room, cozy ponchos for cool nights by the fire pit on the beach, delicious breakfast... the location just cannot be better, youre on a beach super close to waves. The staff and owners were friendly and attentive and went above and beyond to accommodate all our requests. Were extremely happy with our stay and can recommend this property to anyone who enjoys true ocean front and hospitality!

So we were welcomed by the lovely and very helpful Michelle, and that set the tone for our week. All staff are charming and helpful, all made an effort to engage.The included breakfast was excellent, good choice every day & nice grub.We booked ocean view and wow, surpassed expectations, really pleased paid a few $’s more it was brilliant.The rooms are spacious, light and well appointed. Nice that can sit on balcony and watch waves, pelicans and just relax and be.If you want a nice, well run hotel that is good value, stay here.Would recommend and stay here again. Thank you all for a great time.

Thought this location was great, the room. Was nice. But the toilet kept running all night long. Tried jiggling the handle etc, no use. Could not sleep at all. It would run for 5 to 10 min, then stop for 20 min. And continued on the whole night. I did not sleep at all. We notified the front desk, who told us they would look it after we checked out? We checked out that day.I went to their website and notified them there about the toilet problem. Nothing, not a return email or even a thank you for telling us auto response.I guess I expected a lot more for more than $500.00 a night. Think twice before staying here!

My wife and I are in our 50s. We travel a lot. We both grew up at the So-Cal beaches and now live 2 hours inland. One of our favorite things to do to get away, is stay near the beach a few times per year to enjoy the perfect moist weather, the relaxing sound of waves, and a little bit of night life in terms of restaurants and shops.We found Beach Terrace on the internet and decided to give it a try. We travel a lot and I admit that I am picky since I have been in the service business for over 35 years. I can tell the difference between a place where the management see customers as dollar signs or people with expectations. I am the latter.Let me tell you! This place is awesome! They have thought of every detail. Clean, large, comfortable rooms with THE BEST views anywhere if you want to hear and stare at the ocean.Beach service with chairs and umbrellas brought to you. A pool deck area with lounge chairs, 4 fire pits, 85 degree water, showers and again THE VIEW! Bicycles, Board games available, Boogie Boards etc.We ordered pillows off the pillow menu and they were awesome. Fast professional service.Walking distance to many many great restaurants and shops.My wife and I are hooked. Park your car for a few days and really enjoy a clean place in a clean beautiful small beach town. Well be back for sure!

Beach Terrace is right on the beach especially if you get one of the oceanfront rooms they offer. They are quite expensive but as far as hearing the ocean all night and feeling almost like you were in a boat when the tide comes in, it may be worth it. There are some areas of improvement that could help justify the high price that they charge. We arrived early, and although we were able to park our car at a fee, we were not allowed to use the facilities until we officially checked in. This meant we were not even allowed to sit on a chair by the pool or as far as I know be offered a chair by the beach. That was disappointing as I’ve never experienced that even with a less pricey hotel. The check-in process was very disappointing. We were given a text when our room was ready to come back to the front desk and the lady there was helping somebody else, and asked me to stand to the side for about 10 minutes. While I was waiting, her person had left and someone else walked up to her and said I received a text for check-in, and she started helping him before me which I thought was rude. Someone else came out and checked me in, but we were never told all of the details, such as some of the nice things they offer, which were music, yoga, and things like the hours of the breakfast. One morning we went down for the continental breakfast, thinking they served until 10 AM on a weekend only to find out it ended at 9:30. They said you missed it. Not offering anything that they could do or maybe there was some left over they could get for us to go. I actually had to ask is there anything left over and then they went and got us something. They are not going out of their way unless you specifically ask. One evening we decided to stay in and watch a movie and their streaming on their TV was not working. Their handyman had just left I was told and they didn’t know how to help us. Again I inquired can they be reached via text or phone? And only then did they try to get me an answer, which unfortunately was unsuccessful in getting it to work. There is nobody at the pool, and there were loud kids doing cannon balls into the pool with nobody at the resort monitoring how loud or if that was an inconvenience to any of their adult guests. They do provide chairs and umbrellas at the beach, however, they are old and rusted and are hard to adjust whereas at this price point lounge chairs with nice cushions would be far more appropriate. I would still probably come back to this hotel, just based on how amazing that oceanfront view is, however, it’s a high price to pay considering some of the other areas where they lack in service.

Our favorite hotel in Carlsbad. Right on the beach, my family loves this place and we try to visit a couple times every year. Never get tired of Beach Terrace and counting down to our next visit.

Best hotel in Carlsbad - bar none. You will not regret your time spent here. All of the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are recently remodeled and clean, and the views are to DIE for.

We love this hotel!!!We come here often. We get a room that is a few feet from the ocean. We sit on the balcony for hours and watch the sun set on the ocean.I love how private and quiet it is. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is spacious, clean, modern, and comfortable.

In one word STUNNING! This hotel is so well thought out. The rooms are spacious and welcoming. The staff was phenomenal especially with our kids. We stayed in a double queen courtyard view room, but got a fun surprise to see the ocean from our balcony. They had a cute tent for our girls setup when we arrived and plenty of snacks. The amenities include more than the typical hotel. You have beach access with chairs, beach toys, towels and more. There are games in the lobby and morning and afternoon snacks! There are even bikes if you want to take a ride. Short walk downtown to all the fun things and yummy restaurants. Close to LegoLand and SeaWorld if you are with kids. We are definitely coming back to this magical place! We stay in a lot of hotels but this one takes the cake. Thank you!

Really enjoyed our stay here. Nicely appointed room with a pillow menu. Good floor space and generous bathroom. Good seating. Exceptional view. They light the fire pits in the morning and evening. Waves all day. Only caution, we were overlooking the pool and I could see it being a little noisy if busier. No restaurant or bar but breakfast delivery is available.Would have liked to stay another couple of days.
