I have an extreme fear of dentists. Everyone at Bayside Oral Surgery was very kind, caring…and super patient with me. They did everything possible to make me feel comfortable. THAT IS HUGE…believe me. They were very thorough…they explained everything that “could” be done, a timeline…and price points of each. I would 100%, DEFINITELY recommend them!!!

First time at Bayside. Reception area is nice and receptionists are helpful. We were taken back to a room in a timely manner and we didnt have to wait forever before seeing the surgeon. His delivery is nice; tells you what is going on and answers any questions you make have. All in all a good visit.

I’m very pleased with this practice. It runs like clockwork, with pleasant and well-trained staff, and a beautiful office. Dr. Khalil has a great manner and seems very What? sharp and competent. Oral surgery is not supposed to be pleasant, but I honestly don’t mind coming to Bayside!

The service was excellent. I would recommend Bayside Oral Surgery Group for any oral surgery needed. The staff is very polite and helpful. The surgeon was prompt and gentle. Also my initial consultation helped prepare me for my surgery as well as prescriptions prescribe prior to my surgery date. Dr. Khalil and his team were amazing. I’m generally not afraid of going to the dentist. However, visiting the specialist for extraction did raise my anxiety a bit. However, everything went well. I was in and out before I knew it. I received a phone call about an hour and a half after my procedure and was able to review the suggested post extraction care. I will definitely recommend Dr. Khalil to family, friends and colleagues.

I had to get a tooth pulled. I was referred by Albany Oral Surgery, a sister office to this group.Dr. Goo did an intake and found that did have to have it pulled. I decided to get an implant (instead of a bridge).Dr. Goo and 2 assistants helped with the operation. I paid extra for Laughing Gas, and it was worth it. I laughed a lot. The team worked well together.Before the operation started I asked Dr. Goo and his 2 assistants if they believed in Guardian Anels. They nodded yes. I asked if they would imagine our Guardian Angels working together for my highest good. The operation went very well...easy smeazy.Yesterday a few hours after the operation, a member of the staff called to check on me...very cool.Dr. Goo is a great communicator!!! He answered all my questions, and he worked well with his team!I highly recommend Dr. GOO, and his team at Bayside Oral Surgery for dental extractions.

My experience at Bayside was excellent from the first moment. Inwent to the office without an appointment after having seen an endodontist the previous daywho could not complete the root canal procedure.I was promptly put into an exam room, saw the oral surgeon Dr Khallil and prepped for the extraction of the infected molar. This wss done with local anesthesia and finished quiclkly and painlessly. The whole experience took less than an hour.Dr. Khallil was excellent, his staff was superb and the entire process very satisfactory.

Very informative and to the point explaining my options after they took X-rays of my teeth. I would recommand this clinic to everyone who wants know what are the options on their oral health issues. After fracturing a tooth that had to be extracted, my dentist sent me to Bayside for an extraction and an implant. I saw Dr. Khalil; it was a great experience both medically and from a ‘human factor’ point of view. Dr. Khalil and staff were very thorough, efficient, personable and kind. I was given explanations and questions were answered when I had them. I even had them do a second implant while I was there that I was planning on doing electively sometime in the future. I had two follow up appointments; one a week after initial visit to check healing, the second three months out to give the final ‘sign off’ before my dentist could install the implant crowns. Appointments were a breeze; no long waits and lastly….they have very convenient patient parking. Thank you very much, Dr. Khalil & staff!

Yes. This is the place to go. If you are still on the fence about going here, this is your sign! Words cannot express how compassionate and thoughtful people of this office are. My surgery and recovery went seamlessly. I was scheduled to take out all four wisdom teeth with anathesia and was given complete transparency over what sedation I could use, and how many teeth I should extract. None of that pressuring to do the most expensive operation-- Bayside Oral made sure that I could pick what exactly suited for me. With my insurance, which covers about 80% of the cost, my copay was $500 (without insurance it would be 2800, still very reasonable considering some of my teeth were impacted and I chose the most expensive form of sedation). They gave me an itemized bill so I knew exactly what I was paying for. I was extremely nervous for my operation since I didnt have parents here in the state, but Bayside Oral and Dr.Khalil were amazing at making me feel safe and calm. Highly recommend :)

My experience was positive from the time I stepped in the clinic all the way to the end. They are cautious about higiene through the whole place. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. I was taken in on time for my first consultation, the staff was very helpful and made me feel comfortable and informed of my treatment. The surgeon came and explained everything to me and answered all my questions and concerns in a very nice way and he is very knowledgeable of all the issues regarding extraction of wisdom teeth. He showed us the X-ray in a big screen and everything was easy to understand. He made us feel comfortable to choose the procedure that was most appropriate and the cost was very reasonable and fair! Dr Khalil and his staff were professional, reassuring, and efficient. As someone with a phobia of dentists, I really appreciated that they all took the time to answer my questions during my appointment, and explained things fully and honestly. Their approach helped me be more objective and calm. During the procedure, the assistant patted my shoulder and watched carefully for any signs of pain - they were quick to stop and offer to administer more painkiller when I winced. Their responsiveness helped me relax, as I knew they were attentive to and respectful of my experience as a patient. Everything was very COVID-safe, and aftercare was explained to me fully, and repeated.I must also say the chair was very comfortable, which may be small comfort, but is an indication to me that they do their best to make the experience as pleasant as possible.

Dr. Khaili performed exceptionally on my first extraction: no pain and discomfort. I was very nervous this time because I have a nerve disorder. Dr. Khaili again performed the two extractions with no major issues. Six hours I feel very good with no pain, bleeding and only little swelling. Both dentist and his assistant made me feel at ease. They seem fine about actual dental surgery. All the ancillary bits were annoying. We waited for 45 minutes after our appointment time. I know things run over but you can’t tell us what’s going on? The patient was anxious and information would have helped. It seems like there’s just not a culture of communicating with patients - sometimes people who know things forget that the rest of us don’t.What do you notice when you sit in the waiting room without any information? That there’s a sign requiring masking that was followed by all the patients in the waiting room. A desk staff had their nose out of their mask the entire time.

Hello! It all began when I walked through the beautiful doors at BO & MS. This was a consultation appointment to develop my dental progress plan. I was greeted warmly with smiles by the 2 receptionists, just like old friends.The ladies had my dental history ready and after a brief update of my medical history, we were ready to begin.The entire procedure was well orchestrated. Everyone knew their job, the staff used a PA system to communicate with those in other rooms so there were no bottlenecks and no second guessing.Dr. Adel Kahlil utilizes the latest technology to produce Computer Generated illustrations from CT scans, dental algorithms and measurements and his knowledge of the business to create and explain the outcome of specific procedures. Disappointing. My son’s xrays were not requested from his Dentist until after we arrived for his appointment. He was brought back to a room without me & then told that some people get their wisdom teeth out & some don’t. It may or may not help his other teeth it’s a 50/50 chance. They had not seen any xrays & our dentist had told us he had one wisdom tooth growing in sideways that was was close to nerves & it needed to be removed. My son has social anxiety & mental heath issues. It seems like staff was intolerant of this & my angsty teen’s attitude & language so they told him he could leave without letting me know. In these post COVID times with all the mental health issues people are dealing with the staff in the back working with patients seem to need more education, customer service & tolerance training. The front desk staff were polite & helpful.

All of the staff were polite.I supported my mother who was there for a consult with Dr. Vu for future implants. Dr.Vu is one of the most sincere providers we have ever worked with. He is extremely patient and thorough. All of our questions and concerns were answered in a way that felt collaborative and empowering. I had my wisdom teeth extracted here. Front desk was very polite, quick, and professional. Dr. Lin was knowledgeable and understanding, and answered any questions I had during consultation. My personal experience with the surgery (IV sedation) also went very smoothly. Nothing hurt and I never felt uncomfortable. Post-surgery recovery was also very good (almost no swelling or pain). My case was an average case according to the doctor (two partial bony, two complete bony). Maybe I was lucky (who knows), but nonetheless Im sure everyone is very competent here.

They made me feel at ease by just treating me like I was a person they really cared about and not just a patient they literally just Met. I thought that was awesome, and the music selection was great not boring and stuffy. Overall I really liked how I was treated. This place is full of happy people and it shows in their positive attitude and upbeat voice. The doctors put me on a liquid diet for a few weeks, which isnt nearly as unpleasant as it sounds. The office staff are very professional, efficient and fun, and the vibe is very positive. These guys are a complete sham and very unprofessional as well. I went to Bayside through my general dentist in 2021, because I have a PPO plan that allows me to pick whatever dentist I want, and to pick and choose between them according to their means and methods and their associative costs.At first Dr. Khalil and his staff were courteous and professional and put together an estimate for the 3 implants I needed to get done. They were happy to pull together the plans and offer me estimates of the work.However as soon as the procedures began the courteousness and the professionalism rapidly deteriorated. As someone who has a great seal of experience with several dentists and in full knowledge of what works for me in so far as procedures, I told Dr. Khalil and his staff that for extractions I would prefer local anesthesia in combination with Nitrous Oxide as I know my body well and I know what works for me.Dr. Khalil decided in his hubris to completely ignore my instructions and decided to pull one of my teeth using local anesthesia only, which naturally didnt work. He pumped my jaw full of local anesthesia for over an hour, and I was still in pain during the extraction. So instead of at that point concurring with me with the procedure he took it upon himself to recommend full IV sedation which costs $230 per 15 minutes so the cost of the extraction went from $480 to $1480!! I was in shock. Also with full IV I needed to get someone to drop me off and to pick me up afterwards which added another level of hassle. I told the doctor in no uncertain terms that this is not necessary and the local anesthesia and nitrous treatment would work fine as it had done so for numerous occasions in the past, but he refused to see eye to eye with me, so at the behest of his office manager I decided to take that portion of the procedure to another oral surgeon in the Bay Area who would accede to my request and to reduce my out of pocket costs from $1500 to $500 dollars, which is quite significant for a simple extraction.After a few months when the extraction was healed I decided to return to Dr. Khalil for the rest of my procedures so that we could move forward with the rest of my treatment. I called in to schedule an appointment and I was told by his office manger (the same one that told me to take my extraction elsewhere for a cost that I felt comfortable with) that they would no longer accept me as a patient and that I was not allowed to make any future appointments. I asked why and I wasnt provided with any reason and when I asked for Dr. Khalil to follow up with me to explain he never did so.In closing despite the many positive reviews for this Oral Surgeon I have to say my experience was quite contrary and very unprofessional and would add that for any new patients to make yourself completely informed as to the fine print and pay close attention to your pocket book because quite often they will suggest procedures for you that are going to be very cost prohibitive and to your disadvantage.I am thoroughly disgusted with the lack of professionalism and follow through from Dr. Khalil and his staff and if I could give them zero stars I would.

I saw procedures that reminded me of the Total Quality Management movement I experienced in the corporate world. Why no five-star rating? In the neighborhood of their location, parking is a severe problem. There were no instructions or advice about what to do for parking. As I found out later, there are indeed opportunities under their building and in a nearby lot serving other buildings. Many years ago I had a horrendous experience with a dentist in Livermore. During that extraction I was in terrible pain and I remember the dentist being irritated because he couldn’t get the area numb. Dr. Khalil and his staff were very kind and understanding. In his very capable hands I felt nothing. I did not feel the injections of novocaine, nor did I feel any part of the tooth being extracted. We were referred for wisdom teeth removal by our general dentist.We called to get an appointment and the primary concern was with ensuring we were able to pay. I answered question after question about ability to pay and then asked if all of this was necessary since our goal was gaining comfort with their abilities since we knew nothing about them.I was then told my child could come alone since she wasnt a minor. But she is.We were then referred to an on-line patient intake form which asked for the same information in triplicate, it took a long time.We then arrived on the day of the appointment on-time so we could wait in the waiting room for 25 minutes. I asked how much longer so they took us to a back room and our records were pulled up and then we were shown a video and left alone in the room.The records indicated a history of smoking and alcohol, which isnt true, and also that there was intermittent pain at a level of 8 out of 10. Also not true. We took pictures of the records.The video we saw showed relatively older people whod had challenges with wisdom teeth much later in life and they were then thankful to have had them removed. One of the people featured in the video had a health issue that had been discovered by his general dentist and he was also thus glad to have had his wisdom teeth removed to prevent further bone loss.It was a very strange video where fear was on sale seemingly to encourage you to get your wisdom teeth out sooner rather than later. We would have appreciated facts and figures more.Then after waiting another 10-15 minutes a doctor came in who was not the doctor we were referred to.We asked about the records being wrong and he made some comment about it being a template even though the name was in the records next to a statement that had clearly been typed.This doctor then said it didnt look like there would be a problem with the wisdom teeth coming in but that often when they did come in all the way problems are possible but you dont know until they come in and then it is harder to get them out and there can then be complications.He said we had at least a few years. We said wed go away and think about it.I called back to check on availability for the procedure thinking wed rather get it done to prevent future challenges and the person I spoke with said her records showed we were planning to wait until the teeth erupted, which we did not say, and that because there was no care plan in place shed need to talk with the doctor to understand how much time was necessary for the procedure.There was further confusion because apparently their doctors rotate between offices so the doctor who saw us wasnt going to be in for a couple of weeks and we could work with yet another doctor but the guy that owns the practice was booked.We then got a call back saying they couldnt help us.*******The response is a fiction. There was no mocking or refusal to follow protocols.The writer of the response may want to consider the potential repercussions of posting falsehoods. Everything I wrote above is a simple and factual recount of our experience.

I had to do emergency tooth extraction. I broke my molar, had an infection. My pain was unbearable.This clinic from the moment I walked into the door, greeted me, took my info, nurse called me in the back and the most awesome doctor cane in and said, dont worry Im going to take care of you and this pain. Dr Khalil is an incredible surgeon and healthcare provider. My dentist was trying to finish the crown of my implant when the screw broke off in the implant. OK. I have had a lot of dental procedures done because I have xerostomia (severe and chronic lack of salivation) and I needed yet another tooth extracted in May of 2020. I had an appointment with another oral surgeon the day I met Dr. Lin, and I walked out before the procedure because this other oral surgeon and his staff treated me like a number and were dismissive of some concerns of mine, but at Bayside they were very friendly and patient (pardon the pun). Dr. Lin listened...he didnt give me the bums rush. He spent a good 10-15 minutes with me discussing the procedure, what numbing agents hed use, what I can expect, and reassured me about the ease of the surgery. He was responsive to my joking around about a few things, too. During the the lidocaine shots and procedure, I kid you not, the assistant stroked my shoulders lightly to calm me... she said she does that with patients because it relaxes them...no dental assistant has ever done that with me before (at least not in a professional setting), and it really was nice (I couldnt get her to do more). Dr. Lin was efficient and skilled, and it was a painless and positive experience. He offered a bolus (small amount) of Norcos without having to ask for it, as he had to cut pretty deep, unlike some doctors who make you feel uncomfortable for requesting them, but I declined (I had opiates at home). The wound bled less than any other extraction I had. Later that week, my regular dentist said he was surprised at how fast the spot was healing, and said the surgeon did a nice job; a clean job. So I would definitely recommend Bayside Oral Surgery and especially Dr. Lin. (I cant guarantee youll get the same dental assistant, but its worth a shot.)Mitchell Spindell

You cant feel it but its messy you up you have healing cuts so dont talk even if you feel fine on pain meds. I wish i did that lol text dont talk. If you follow this advice you feel just fine. Surgery will heal great. Dont talk and eat soft creamy like things.When you leave the after surgery say nothing trust me this is best thing to do. Dont talk and the healing will be really Quick and Painless.I was not on pain meds after the first few days and i was only in minor pain when i accidentally stupidly said a something. Lol. So dont talk and you will be fine it was a lot less unpleasant then i thought it would be but Dont get me wrong the first couple days are unpleasant thats why you take pain meds lol.Be Careful too you will be fine if you just be careful and follow the doctors advice.

I had a very satisfactory experience. The first two days after extraction of a wisdom tooth went smoothly, but discomfort resumed on the third day and got worse on the fourth day. Dr. Khalil, however, was able to see me on that day, and reassured me that the difficulties were well within normal expectations. The discomfort has now subsided, essentially vanished, on the sixth day. The office has been cooperative and professional throughout.

I can’t imagine a worse experience. I broke my jaw, and since I was in a ton of pain so I just went to the first person I got a referral from instead of doing a bit of research first. They told me my insurance didn’t cover jaw surgery, so I had to pay $5k up front, and with no real other option since I needed help immediately, I borrowed money from my family and did it. Turns out they’d been filing the insurance paperwork wrong, it would have been covered, but now that they’d already gotten paid, they didn’t want to spend the time to help me get it sorted with my insurance.I had to email the insurance to figure out what was going on, then email them (couldn’t call due to my jaw being wired shut) multiple times trying to get them to fix it, even setting up calls directly with the insurance company rep and them to have it sorted. They were constantly rude about, claiming they were doing it right, while the insurance company was sending me the faxes, showing that they still weren’t making the proper changes that had been clearly spelled out so many many times in emails, faxes, and phone calls.In addition, their office is terrible in terms of sound proofing, so on multiple occasions I heard Dr. Khalil being downright mean to his staff, saying rude things about clients, and then when he would leave the room if more than one staffer was in there they’d start whispering about him. Dr. Khalil had zero tact or bedside manner.Would avoid at all costs.

Suggestion: give patients a list of the medications they will be picking up at the pharmacy afterwards, please.Review: the idea of having a tooth extracted was scary, thank you for allying my fears. Most important, as this was my first visit, that Bayside Oral and Max. so strictly adhered to COVID restrictions was comforting. I interacted with multiple staff and each person was energized, efficient, courteous, focused and caring, which was a welcome distraction while not being overwhelming. Dr. Vu explained the procedure in detail, his treatment was gentle and kind, impressive for the physical act of removing a tooth! I appreciated the reinforcement of my post-operative responsibilities and the useful bag of ice-packs and black tea bags to staunch any blood flow...or drink. Besides staff liked my blue/purple hair!

If you are a special needs/disabled person or someone who experiences anxiety from dental procedures, DO NOT go here! The Doctor Khalil is Ableist, the staff is Ableist and even the building owner is Ableist. My basic human rights were violated here and I wont be able to leave my house for months due to this incident. I am a bedbound, wheelchair dependent disabled person who has extreme difficulty getting out of my house for appointments. I also suffer from PTSD, Anxiety and Depression. My severe disability was disclosed and an appt was scheduled to accommodate my disability. I was waiting over a week for emergency oral surgery and was turned away for crying before my appointment! I am still completely shocked. Heres what happened: when I arrived at the building there was a gold Lexus SUV parked in the no parking section of the handicap space so unfortunately my caretaker had to help me out of the car into my chair in the middle of the lot. (Not the safest). As I was sitting there waiting for my caretaker to park I see a lady get into the illegally parked Lexus to which I was shocked to see and I definitely gave her a glare. She then rolled down her window and yelled directly at me I own this building, I can park wherever I want! I seriously couldnt believe my ears as this was a medical facility and it fully triggered a PTSD attack to start up. I found that comment to be inappropriate and foul. I quickly wheeled out of her way as she was threatening to run me over with her car. While I was waiting for her to leave she was yelling some nonsense at me which I couldnt understand because I was having a full blown panic attack. All I could do at this point is cover my ears and scream and cry like a child yelling I have PTSD, leave me alone over and over until she finally drove off. I managed to get a photo of her, her car and licence plate so I could report this behavior. I was so upset that this had happened I was still understandably in tears by the time I got into the office. Before I could even say a word the staff says the doctor is refusing to treat you because he didnt know you would be so anxious. Verbatim. At that point I asked to have that statement in writing as well as the name of the building owner and then they threatened to call the cops on me. They put my LIFE IN DANGER. I cant believe this kind of prejudice still exists especially here in Berkeley. All I was doing was crying, having a panic attack. Its a normal thing to experience before going in for surgery and the staff and doctors should educate themselves before they hurt more people. My life is forever changed because of this awful experience.
