Barry Adelmann and his colleagues at Bay Area Modern are pros. Out of the blue I contacted Barry to see if a specific Eichler home model was coming on the market soon. Less than a month later we closed on the exact home we were looking for. In our case it was a home that hadnt even hit the market yet. Their knowledge of the local market and relationship with owners and potential sellers of Eichler homes distinguishes Bay Area Modern from all other realtors. They are also super kind and patient people who guide their clients through the complexity of a transaction, but dont pressure. Whether you are buying a modern or more traditional home, Barry and the team are the gold standard for representation. You will not be disappointed.

Pam Nichols, of Marin Modern Real Estate, is one of the best realtors we have worked with in buying and owning 7+homes on both coasts over the last thirty years. She listened very carefully to our criteria in seeking a home in Marin (from Arizona) and answered all of our questions regarding the area including having a keen understanding of the nuances between the Marin communities--and even within each town.The houses she showed us were very much on-point based on our criteria--size, location, climate, price etc. We found a great house in central Marin relatively quickly--in no small part because of Pams attention to our needs and wants for our new home. Lisa was extremely respectful, compassionate, and gentle with helping us to sell her home. My husband and I had an excellent experience with Cari of Marin Modern. We highly recommend her personally and the agency at large to anyone searching for their first home. These are agents that care that you are happy with your home, and their support doesnt end at the signing of the closing documents.Knowing that we had a small child and another baby on the way, Cari made an extra effort to search for properties that most closely could meet our needs and at the same time were within our budget. She was always willing to answer any questions we had and, if we wanted more information on a property, to do some research on our behalf. And she was great at telling us what improvements would add value to the homes we were considering and what would be detriments/have to be addressed before we would be able to sell.When we found what would ultimately be our first home purchase, she was supportive in walking us through the lengthy (and sometimes tedious and frustrating) process and truly listened to our concerns, even offering insightful suggestions on what inspection reports should be completed and recommendations on who to complete them rather than just looking someone without any references up in the phone book. Her network has proved invaluable in completing some of the fix-it tasks on our list.Cari was not only a great agent, but became a friend who didnt sugar coat and made sure that our interests were protected. We recently worked with Cari Gennarelli to sell our condo in SF, and it couldnt have been a better experience. We were new to the area and she took the time to help us thoroughly learn about the different neighborhoods based on our familys needs, until we were able to narrow down what we were looking for as well as where we wanted to target our home search (which ended up being wanting to find an Eichler in Terra Linda or Lucas Valley). We engaged Bay Area Modern about a year before we actually bought. We worked with Barry Adelmann to help us find the perfect first home for our growing family. We had extremely particular criteria and Barry was—for a year—profoundly patient, helpful, proactive and knowledgable about the homes, the process, the drama and all that goes into finding and buying a home. At one point we expanded our search and worked with Mark Fleckles from BAM who was also great when we looked in the East Bay.When we finally found a home we loved and got an offer accepted, Barry and his team helped through the whole process. It really was white glove service. He was available and flexible with our crazy hours and nonstop questions. Hillary Daviss job of realtor took on many more hats than we ever imagined one person could fit into. She put us at ease immediately, rolled up her sleeves and took on the job of guiding us on how to prepare the home for the sale & a new family. She answered every question we asked, she made call backs the same day & gave us lists on the best way to have all the things done, she made referrals of reliable people and even helped with advising and assisting with staging. High praise for Hilary Davis +100 to work with her. She is kind, thoughtful, and honest.Hilary helped me understand that even with a beautiful renovation, it takes a lot of money to sell a home. She charges $1,000 per month for 530 sq condo staging (bedroom and living room).I would connect with Hilary a few months before youre ready to sell, work out the numbers with her, and give yourself time to save to spend what she needs you spend so she can sell. Shes really amazing, but you need at least a few thousand dollars to work with her.

Nathalie is a fantastic agent.We just concluded a house hunt that was complicated by the outrageously overheated market in Marin and southern Sonoma. Nathalie was absolutely invaluable from beginning to end. She is:- Very knowledgeable about Marin and southern Sonoma what’s going on in this very competitive market. We bid on several houses and considered bidding on several others. Nathalie got a good understanding of our particular family needs and preferences, and had a very good sense of how things were trending in each area. She wasn’t afraid to say whether something looked overpriced, or was likely to get multiple bids and go way over asking. (She proved to be exactly correct on several occasions.)- Very honest. There are certain things you can’t *know* about what the sellers are thinking, etc. Nathalie was straightforward about that and didn’t try to sugarcoat anything, while remaining positive.- Very detail-oriented. Nathalie never hesitated to ask another broker direct questions, climb into a musty crawl space (literally) during inspections, or otherwise do whatever it took to make sure we had as much information as possible. Because of her experience she brought up many questions that we wouldn’t have occurred to us.- Very responsive. If there is a form to sign or a question to answer, she gets it done on the spot or the same evening. Super on top of all the paperwork. (Also she uses the easiest online signing application we experienced, and we have seen several.)- Very patient. We looked at a lot of houses and bid on several. At one point we had an offer accepted, which then generated a ton of paperwork, inspection appointments, etc. The inspections discovered a bunch of previously undisclosed problems, and the deal ultimately fell through. That meant we were back at square one after all that work. Nathalie stayed totally unruffled and kept working hard to help us find the right spot, despite this setback and all the duplicate work for her.We’re so glad she had our back throughout the process, which can be very stressful. Nathalie has absolutely our highest recommendation. We have a house that we love and we got it under budget!

We wanted to give Renee an amazing review and recommendation. We have worked with her off and on for about 6 years. She helped us sell our Townhouse (relatively unscathed) when the economy was tanking at the end of 2007. Renee also represented us with the purchase of our first Eichler in the Oakland hills. Years latter she and her expanded team of midcentury modern experts helped us sell our house at asking and it was listed above market but well worth it.In addition Renee found us our next Eichler in San Rafael that was off market!!! If you know anything about San Rafael real estate is that it’s extremely competitive during the summer time with family moving for schools. We saw listings that were not our ideal home go for 100K over asking. We couldn’t believe it when she called us with the lead on an Eichler that was in the process of being thoroughly remolded. We presented quite a challenge for Renee as we were very particular with the esthetics of the home. She even went as far as sending out mass mailers for leads.Renee knows her Eichlers! She is well connected in the San Rafael community and beyond. She’s been living in Eichlers for a very long time and has seen so many models and/or variations. She receives the majority of the leads and listings for Eichlers in San Rafael and she’s quickly developing a network in the other Eichler neighborhoods including Oakland Hills, Walnut Creek, Concord, San Francisco, and I’m sure well beyond. Heck even her license plate says Eichler!Besides her knowing the Eichler and midcentury modern housing market, Renee whole-heartedly represents her clients. After one visit to homes on the market, Renee knew exactly what we were looking for -- maybe better than we did. She found it weeks before it actually came on the market and we bought it.No one knows the Eichler (and other mid-century homes) market -- and the resources that support Eichler owners -- better.
