This school is amazing! Taught by seasoned professionals, Louis, Mr. G, and Cindy, they helped me learn all the tools and tricks to becoming a great bartender, with real behind-the-bar experience. You practice in a fully functional bar, just with fake alcohol. Each lesson goes really in depth on the different drink types and bartending fundamentals, and the midterm and final held me accountable so I had to make sure I knew everything before graduating. I feel so much more confident and prepared as a bartender, and I already booked my first job just a day after graduating! I definitely recommend coming here if youre thinking about bartending!

If you are considering becoming a bartender, this is the place! Enrolling at the Bartending Training Institute was one of the best decisions Ive made. Not only did I leave equipped to start working in the industry, but the entire experience was beyond pleasant. In an intimate personable bar setting, you gain practical and applied knowledge of over 200 IBA cocktails, beer & wine knowledge, proper serving techniques, and bar operations. There is an emphasis on state governed responsible alcohol serving and overall great hospitality. The classes are hands on, flexible, and Fun taught by obvious experts in the field. Lou & Mr. G offer a unique training experience that is nurturing and conducive for nothing less than success. Along with Cindy, who is passionate about job placement that fits your needs and showcases your strengths. They should probably change the name to Bartending Training Family due to the continued support and lasting impression that is sure to be felt after signing up. If you are curious, they even offer a free orientation where you get to get a feel of the class without commitment. The course is very reasonably priced, and they even offer a payment plan. I highly recommend it.

If you want to learn how to be a bartender, this is the best place. They are a no joke school that will drill all the best practices of being a bartender, on top of preparing you to make over 200 different cocktails as well as educating you on all the different types of spirits. Lou is an expert in his field and will truly help you hone your skills. Mr. G is also an excellent teacher and makes the class very fun! Cindy is an amazing resource and is super helpful. She will help you get the best job you can so that you can easily pay back tuition soon after graduation. I highly recommend starting bartending training with the Bartenders’ Training Institute. They teach you everything you need to know, from drink recipes, to bar setup and cleanup, to customer service, and make learning a fun experience while doing it! Lou and Mr. G are great teachers. I was worried about how I was going to memorize 200+ drink recipes, but they managed to make it easier for me by using humor to teach, by being very thorough, and by not being afraid to give feedback. Cindy helped me get my start there, talked me through any questions and concerns I had, and I know will do a great job placing me for work. I just graduated this week after two weeks there. It is always a warm and welcoming environment, and I am definitely going to miss it!

They provided many tips and tricks for me, every time I came in for class I knew I was going to be entertained and walk out knowing more than I did. Lou is hilarious, and always made class fun. Wow! What an experience i had at this school! I finished everything (classes, mid-term, written and pratical final exam) within two weeks of being enrolled at Bartending Training Institute. I am so grateful for the Bartender’s Training Institute Team, Lou, Cindy, and Mr. G. The amazing Cindy was able to find me gigs as early as my first week there and by the time I graduated (in 3 weeks), all my gigs paid for the course, my kit, and then some. I literally picked up my certificate of completion the morning after bartending a star-studded celebrity-filled engagement. The weekend before that, I worked a sold-out arena. I felt very supported the entire time and met other awesome fellow bartenders in the process. Bartending Training Institute was more than teaching how to mix a few drinks. It taught me what it takes to be a bartender first. Lou has an unapologetic approached on how to become a bartender not how to bartend. I initially thought it would be fun to take a little Bartender course and make some extra money, but this school hit different. Wasted no time on discipline. It was about doing the right thing at the right time with the right attitude. Be prepared to take criticism. Be on time. Help others. Prioritize task. Take responsibility. Work under pressure. Be aware of your surroundings and humility. Its no doubt why so many bars and venues request students from this organization. I just graduated today. Growing up in the valley, I drove by the Bartending School for years and always fantasized about what a career as a bartender would be like. The 2023 Hollywood Strikes forced me to look for new work, I saw this school offered a free first lesson and I decided to finally give it a shotAfter only 5 weeks with the school, I can now say Im a professional bartender! Hell, Cindy got me my first gig BEFORE I had even graduated! The lessons are some of the most fun Ive ever had learning, Lou is an incredibly well-experienced instructor who has been working in bars all over the world since the 70s. Lou not only teaches you how to make drinks, he shares practical advice about bartending and hilarious anecdotes from his experiences in the industry. Another instructor, Mr. G, teaches you literal science regarding mixology, hes like the Walter White of cocktails. Both instructors will give you a proper foundation in mixology and prevent you from developing bad habits behind the bar.The classroom environment looks/feels like an actual bar, where you get hands-on experience creating every kind of cocktail you can think of (using fake liquor in real brand bottles). Once enrolled, youre able to learn at your own pace and drop-in for day or night classes as often as you like, even taking the same lesson multiple times if needed. Youre also able to come in early to practice making drinks before classes, which is extremely useful for passing the final exam. The other students are very friendly and helpful, Ive made some great connections/friendships here that I honestly wasnt expecting to, but Im glad I did.If you put the time into this class, you will absolutely be rewarded two-fold for your efforts. The job-placement program is fantastic, Cindy is wonderful and sincerely cares about getting you work. She uses her local connections to refer you to job openings and will move mountains to help you secure gigs (there are even work opportunities before you graduate!). Less than a week after graduation, Ive already made back my tuition through the jobs Cindy has helped provide me with.I honestly wish I could go back and do it all over again, just because I enjoyed my time here so much. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Lou really puts you through a bartending bootcamp but its totally worth it in the end. Cindy and Mr. G are helpful as well. I got to bartend at SoFi Stadium before I even got my certificate because Cindy always hooks it up with opportunities. During the gig, I noticed I knew a lot more than some of the other bartenders thanks to Lous training. The venue had pre-made Margarita mix (which I didnt use, I made the drink the traditional way with Triple Sec, Lime Juice, and SLJ). At some point, we ran out of the mix, and some bartenders didnt know how to make Margaritas without the pre-made mix. They ended up sending their customers my way. Also, my speed rack was always well prepared, as some of the bartenders had to constantly borrow things from me because their speed racks werent set up properly. In conclusion, the instruction here at the school really puts you 2 years ahead. Please consider coming here, and spread the word.

First off like most others have said Louis and Cindy are awesome people, good people. If you want bar training, this is the only place you should look. If you have any questions, make an appointment and talk with them, they are straight forward and know the business inside and out. Any negative reviews you may come across: these are people who didnt want to work hard or are the ones who want things handed to them. You are going to be a bartender, not work in a church. Louis and Cindy treat it that way and I am grateful things arent sugar coated, because the real world sure isnt. The classes are fun, funny, lots of information, and a ton of hands on class and practice time. This is definitely a place that you get what you put in to it, and Louis and Cindy know that. If they see you working hard, PRACTICING, they will be there to help you and answer your questions! Come in with a good attitude, ready to learn, and get ready for a new profession. I had signed up for the free intro class with a friend to learn about what bartending is really about. It was suppose to be an hour long, but literally It was only like 20 minutes. Cindy had cut it short and was asking us if we were going to pay and wanted us out the door. Not only I learned how to make various cocktails but also got to know a lot of good people, had fun while going through the course and they even helped me get jobs. OK so if you’re reading this go ahead and enroll in the school. I called the Bartenders Institute and Cindy answered the phone, I knew from that very moment that I was in good hands as crazy as it may seem. The effort that Lou and Cindy put into transforming lives is really an experience in itself. For someone like me who is looking to make a complete change in their life and find a sense of direction this place was kind of a home for a good four weeks. I am now able to face the world with more confidence and direction. Mind you after completing the course I was offered a position with the number one corporation that I dreamed of working for so far. I have been learning from the Bartending Training Institute for the past month, and it has been invaluable.I’ve learned how to navigate a bar and make tons of drinks and cocktails, confidently and efficiently. The school has a full bar simulation so students can practice their technique and knowledge making drinks. There’s different drink lessons every day, so you pop in whenever you can to learn more. It fits anybody’s schedule.The owner Lou, and Cindy know the business and are excellent at putting students on the job trail. Not only did I learn how to be a bartender but I also gained extensive knowledge Liquors, liqueurs, beers, and wines. Before I had even graduated, I had made back my full tuition bartending, and on the day I picked up my diploma, I was off to bartend a VIP event at the Dolby theater. THIS IS THE BEST bartending school out there. On my first day on the job I was already up to speed with people who had been bartending for 10 years. Total scam. Complete fraud bait and switch. Reviews are totally fake. Saw online they have a free class. Showed up, was greeted by a rude receptionist, asked to fill in a form. After multiple times being asked to go back and forth between the office and the bar, the owner kicked my wife and I out saying this is for serious bartenders. They used high pressure bait and switch sales tactics to sign up for a $500 class. Hadnt done anything, said anything etc. They completely ruined date night. Avoid at all costs.

And then there is Cindy, the director and job intake cordinator... this woman is the sweetest, funniest, helping person Ive met in awhile. She is SO helpful! Within a week she had me at my first bartending job, and I somewhat had a pretty much an easy time considering it was my first time at a bar, and I made enough money to pay back about half of what it costs to get in! She stays in constant contact with you even after you graduate... I get atleast four texts a week for interviews to go to, or jobs al ready set up. Trust me, this program is worth EVERY penny! -esp considering the fact that you will make it back in 2-3 shifts... some people say you dont need bartending school, what they should say is that you dont need any bartending school besides this one! The opportunities they give you, the connections and net working you have here, and all the drinks, techniques and knowledge you get is worth WAY more then any other place could offer. HIGHLY RECOMMEND -11/10!

I really enjoyed the class the teacher Louis was extremely fun knowledgeable and one of the best instructors ever I wish college w was the same way got hired first job Cindy sent me on she talks fast but she is really concerned in each of the students here getting a great bartending job in a upscale bar. if u want to be working making money go here or try it in your own like I did - wish I enrolled when I first got to los angeles I wasted 2 years working as a (Brand ambassdir ) and hated it love bartending and in really the best bartender the customers say I make the best drinks I just do like Lou taught us

First things first, FORGET ANY OTHER BARTENDING SCHOOL YOU CONSIDERED! This place is the BEST in the business!I looked long and hard for the best bartending school I could find and was about to give up on the career change when I was referred to this school by a friend of a friend.I called up BTI and asked for an appointment to come in and observe the class as well as find out more about the program. From the beginning, I was taken care of by the lovely Miss Cindy, the staffing director and heart of the school. (Love you Cindy!) She set me up with an appointment the next day!When I first got there, I was amazed. I thought I was going to see a small classroom type office but the classroom is an ACTUAL bar! I was already excited because I knew I was going to have hands on training at this place and that is what I wanted the most.I met Lou, the teacher and his personality and enthusiasm made me feel even better about the school. He LOVES what he does and he channels that love for bartending into you. He is by far the BEST teacher I have ever had the pleasure to learn from. He tells you like it is, he doesnt beat around the bush and he is 100% honest. He does what a teacher should do, unlike other bartending schools I observed.Cindy took care of me right away! She made sure I had all the details and information. She made sure I checked out others schools before applying to this one. (Awesome points!) Cindy is there from the beginning to the end!I attended for about 3 months. I work a full time job so attending the day & night class was impossible for me. Most students complete the program in 1-3 weeks, but if you work or have other responsibilities, they work with you every step of the way!They allow you to pay the class in full or in payments. They offer great ways to earn free stuff too!!!!! Who doesnt like free!?My time at BTI gave me some of the best memories I could ask for. I didnt want to graduate because I didnt want to leave everyone. Not only did I get an amazing education and become a stellar bartender, but I made friends and opened up a new chapter in my life.Bottom line, I love BTI and I would suggest it to ANYONE and EVERYONE who wants to become a bartender. I attended in 2010 and had an extremely difficult time finding any sort of work beyond banquet bartending. Cindy and Lou were not helpful in the slightest and were extremely rude and pushy through the entire experience. They never returned a single phone call or email and I was getting desperate. I looked all over town (literally) and found my bartender training was a detriment to me. I was told point blank by more than a few business owners that, because I went to school, I would have too many bad habits for them to break. Many restaurants and bars prefer to promote from within so they can show you how they operate. They all have their own way of doing things. Bartender training was a complete waste of time and money.

I am currently going to school here at the moment and this is literally an intense bartending boot camp that will prepare you for big bucks. Cindy and Lou are amazing and caring and will treat you well. You got 100% job placement and everything. This is the whole package, man.

I happened upon this place by a random Google search, went in one day and immediately started, 5 weeks later, Ive been working and making great money out here, being fresh to the city. 10/10, will always recommend Lou and Cindy to everyone I can. 🙏
