Good bookstore. They have lots of books. You dont need to plug them in or anything. They just work all by themselves. No auto page scroll, but thats okay with me—I can manually turn pages.😉They also dont seem to work well at night. No backlight at all. Thats the big downside of having no batteries—you have to bring your own light. I think if I turn on a light in whatever room Im in, that will be just as good.👍Im excited to see if this old technology will last in the fast-paced digital world we live in today!😎🤘

Spent a special day for me at my favorite store. Always looking for interesting new books, maybe a new jigsaw puzzle, books and toys for grandkids, cards, record albums, gifts, movies and LOTS of games for all ages. Can spend hours there and never get bored!!! Love this store!!

I do try to buy from indie bookstores but...this B&N really feels (and acts) like an indie, from its themed book tables to its very helpful staff. Highly recommend (and a much better alternative than the online giant, whose books consistently arrive damaged)

This Barnes and Noble was amazing. Like stepping back in time (in a good way). They still have a music and.movies section! There were all the usual book sections as well as games and other small gift options. The staff were very friendly. I went in two days before Christmas when it was super busy and the cafe brought refreshments to us in line and the cashiers were super helpful and in a good mood in spite of the rush. Excellent experience all around.

It’s a good bookstore, a place where you can hang out and read. However, this is not a good place to do any work. There’s tables, but no outlets here. Although you can come and sip on a coffee while you read whatever interests you.

This is a very large and attractive bookstore. The displays are beautifully crafted. The book selection is comprehensive. The sales staff are knowledgeable and helpful.Altogether, its a place where you can enjoy browsing or quickly find what you want.I was disappointed last week, however, when I wanted to stay a while and sit down with a friend, coffee, and a snack. When we approached the snack bar counter, the attendant was busy, so we waited for her rather than to interrupt her. She never did offer to help us or even acknowledge us, so we left.

This place is amazing. It has everything. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Also, not only does this place have a Starbucks with incredible pastries, it has an actual media section that isnt plundered like the other B&N. They have a great selection of movies, cds, and vinyl. This place has me traveling from Carmel valley.

Great book store. They have almost anything you need for your school needs or just to come and sit and read books or buy them too. I like coming inside not only for books but they have a 🌟 bucks store inside. I like to buy the blackout cupcakes because they are sure delicious. Come and check them out. I absolutely love this place. Barnes & Noble carries just about every book, magazine, and publication ever printed. What they dont have in stock they will order for you if you want them to. They have a huge selection of how-to books and guides, fiction, non-fiction, learning, poetry, business, magazines, and much more. The staff is very helpful and always nearby, yet they leave you alone and stay, for the most part, unseen until you need them. Every location I have been to has a Starbucks inside, where you can order your coffee and at the same time sit down and enjoy a favorite title. Escondido Barnes & Noble is clean, quiet, convenient. The average cost of most of their books and other products is about the same as you would find anywhere else, except with a much larger inventory and library like sit-and-read accommodations. A great place to visit even with no intention of actually purchasing anything. Stop in, have a seat, and read away. Five stars for sure!

I normally never have a problem at this location. Well, tonight I go in to buy the remaining two books in a series(ACOTAR) that were listed, Buy 1 get 1 for 50% off on the B&N website. I asked the cashier who was working regarding the discount and she said that it is up to the discretion of the store. I told her that I have never heard of that before. She told me she would honor it tonight.I know this is cliche to say, but I have spent over $1000 dollars with Barnes & Noble in the past 6 months rather than spending at Amazon. Ya know, trying to support them and this encounter has completely turned me off at this location. I really don’t know what the point of the comment made was- like they NEVER have all the books stickers with the promotion and most people would not know if they weren’t frequent book buyers or apart of their membership.At the end of the day; she chose to confront a well known shopper as she’s seen me in the store regularly and I did not appreciate it at all! I will take my money elsewhere. The Encinitas location is by far the friendliest B&N that I’ve been to and I will be shopping there instead. It’s sad because I’m trying to support the location and they would rather try to embarrass me for a deal that they are in fact offering.

Theres so many amazing things in there, and a lot of good deals at the moment. All the little self-motivation little calendar, and just all of their different planners, markers, pens, their cute birthday cards. its just amazing, the variety is great! however I do wish there was more adult coloring books just coloring books in general and so just how to draw books besides that, its such a cool store

In the day of Amazon and other online book sellers. It is most refreshing and rejuvenating to have a real brick and mortar place you can go to look thru more books than you can ever imagine... In one place! Quiet, warm and inviting, there is most definitely something for everyone: games for all ages, puzzles, maps, and BOOKS !! We purchased an Atlas, a game for a grandchild, and a book package to help them train their new dog. What a great place!!!!!!!

Used to go to Target for toys but lately been finding myself coming here for their great toys selection amongst other great stuff they have. I like the store layout. Things arent the cheapest but you get what you pay for and you can always membership to get regular discounts on everything.

Other than that, there are so many books I get anxiety trying to find just one for myself… but overall they have every book the World has to offer damn near.. if you can find someone willing to go on a date with you to Barnes and Noble, keep them!!! At the Escondido book store theres also a coffee place!Today I found out that after my membership is expired, if I want to continue it, instead of $25.00 now it will be $39.99!!! Im not renewing it for that almost double amount. They include a bag (i have many bags already!!) and almost everything I have already with my $25.00 membership. Not ok.

Many magazines as well.Ive had issues with their Vinyl Records...Ive bought a few and at least 3 have had scratches so I exchanged 1 and returned the other 2.

Great store with air conditioning, WiFi, a small cafe, books, journals, magazines, a music section and more. The only trouble is that there are 2 sets of doors you have to go through to get in the front door(s) and they are sometimes heavy to pull/push. More challenging for people in wheelchairs, canes, crutches, etc. I do love this store though and buy so many gifts here for people I love.

Wow, what a huge array of goods! !! Books, magazines, gift items, office supplies, paper supplies for letters or just fun projects. Toys, lots of toys and beautiful section for children to enjoy. So many different choices in books for children of all ages. Very clean rest rooms. The environment overall is very clean. It has a Starbucks Coffee shop with sweet goodies for purchase while you read or whatever your creative endeavors are. Im a member as everyone who loves books should be. I love Barnes and Noble.

(This review is for the Starbucks inside this Barnes and Noble)I visited this store 2 days before Christmas, a crazy time for retail employees. The SB employee who took my drink order was very nice and professional (I wish I remembered her name!). She even offered to ring up my other purchases.That may sound like a minor detail but the line for regular purchases (outside of Starbucks) was at least 20 deep with people. So her offer saved me a lot of time that day.Sometimes its the little acts of kindness that can make a persons day.

One of the workers, Staycen, was incredibly patient when it came to my questions. I was really intimidated by the sheer amount of options in the Manga section. They really held my hand when discussing all of the different genres and sub genres.After around 40 min of conversation we finally settled on Fruits Baskets. Since then this read has been a blast.If you are looking for well informed workers when it comes to Japanese manga this is the Barnes and Noble for you.

I kid you not, I walked into this place with a whole list of books that were recommended to me on tik tok and i walked out with 8 books! Thats the most books ive bought in my life😭 I was kinda nervous considering that my last experience buying books was in college and one textbook is easily 100-250 usd💀Fam, all 8 books for like 120 plus an annual membership discount. Ayo this is wild! I was full expecting to pay so much money😭😭 And the lady who helped me find them was soooo amazing she knew where everything was she even got down the others that they didnt have, on a list to have them for next time. And the checkout was so smooth omg. I absolutely love this place. They didnt make me feel like a newb to the world of books, which i kind of am, in case you cant tell by the amount of books i got in one drop💀 im soo excited to start reading them. I def recommend this location they worked so well, that employee teamwork was amazing. They communicated really well with me on every level. Once i get a decent amount of these books read, ill def be back to cop those remaining books. Thank yall❤

The journal section, after decades of being across an entire wall, has become a tiny little section with 4-5 journals to pick from.Still gets a 5 star, because the staff are always helpful and nice, even when me and my friend are dumb and ask where are the coloring books when we are standing next to them.

Used to be my favorite book store, but covid changed it. Another day I bought a coffee in the store, and walked to a far shelf (nobody around, maybe 3 people in the whole store!) to browse through some books while drinking. An angry young associate man caught me... Screemed me out of the store... Like I am a criminal. No food or coffee in the store! Such a lack of common sense. The plaza is full of went out of business stores... I could buy books online any day for less money; I come for the atmosphere and to help them out... But it is over now.

I usually buy books from Amazon but thought Id try Barnes and Noble for the first time and already plan to never come back. The prices they list online are much cheaper than in store and they cannot offer the online price. The cashier told us the prices are higher because its a store and they keep the store as a favor to us. Hmmmm, not sure I agree paying higher prices is doing me any favors. Better off to get books on amazon if youre looking for the best price. All the books we went to purchase were more expense, some 43% more than their online price! And the Starbucks, isnt a Starbucks. Ive been to many coffee shops that serve Starbucks and they clearly state we proudly serve Starbucks this one is just pretending to be one. Id sue them if I was Starbucks. I wouldnt shop here, ever.

I was enjoying my experience at barnes and nobles at first and I was going to buy a couple of books but this lady about 25 28 years old with black hair possibly Mexican Asian with glasses was very rude I dont even want to buy from this location again if she still works there Id rather drive to vista from valley center then have to remember that. Watch the way you treat people it was my birthday and however older lady Jackie made my exit better than my experience with her smile. this younger lady was inhospitable as an employee. I thought she was going to ask me for assistance and i would have asked her about this book ive been looking for but just interrupted my reading on enlightenment and happiness and made me feel really bad. Lot of the employees kept talking to us and not the people sitting around us. Very unfair I dont usually ever do bad reviews but I give what I Get so reconsider the thoughts and actions given to your fellow customers/guest as you did not know my mindset. GOOD Luck working on the authenticity of your service! Seriously the three stars go to Jackie and the rest of the employees, and for the good service I would get in the past. Keep it up.

I love B&N because theres no substitute for real books but I rarely shop. Its absurdly expensive in comparison with online shopping, even with the rewards membership (which I have to PAY for, wth). So as a compromise, I window shop here, take pics of the books I want on my phone, and then go on Amazon and order them for a quarter of the price. Makes me sad to say it but who chooses to throw money away? Not me.

Barnes and Noble is a dying breed, a brick and mortar store where you can find PHYSICAL MEDIA!!I love that I can walk in and actually browse CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray. Books...every subject available here. They also have a decent discount section.I usually find (board) games here which come in handy for gifts. Plenty of Sudoku books too!There is a Starbucks inside this location, and they have Cheesecake Factory cheesecake available for purchase too.

Wouldnt I love to write a review and vent my frustration about this store. Every time I have a problem with my Nook, I have to make 3-4 trips to the brick and mortar store for help and sometimes that doesnt even solve the problem. The latest? I lost everything but the tablet itself. When I went to buy replacement parts, I was told the store was out but I could find them in another store more than 20 miles away. Yeah right. So a couple of weeks later, I returned and asked if they had gotten the parts. The man I talked to looked me up on the computer and because I was under warranty, I could get the parts replaced for free. Marvelous! I got the package today and there is only the plug in part and no chord! Now I have to make a third trip to the store just to get the problem solved. The unit is too heavy for my hands. I have carpel tunnel and can only hold it for about 5 minutes and then I hurt. And when I go to the store, the clerks push me to buy the latest model. I have pretty much abandon the nook in favor of printed books. They are a lot less hassle.

Dropped in to Barnes & Noble Escondido for a charity gift wrapping event on Saturday evening 12.15.18 around 6 to 630 pm. Went into the coffee shop, ordered a hot black tea and was informed that complimentary nonfat milk and half & half was available on a side table in the sitting area. E.T. unscrewed the lids on the metal pouring tins and observed yellowish, thin, runny liquid that was clearly, obviously adulterated with a noxious poison. Got the attention of barista Sara and informed her of the problem on the public serving table. Sara seemed unimpressed and haughty. In light of the circumstances, E.T. asked for a complimentary cup of nonfat milk from behind the counter and Sara reluctantly obliged. As such, the first large cup of tea was uncontaminated, delicious and inspired heavy page turning in a historical biography purchased from the bookstore. Half an hour later, E.T. returned to the counter and ordered a second hot black tea for 50 cents. Again, Sara provided a small portion of complimentary milk, however, after E.T. offered sincere gratitude, Sara responded with attitude, nonchalance. Horrifically, the second hot black tea instantaneously generated dilated pupils, bloodbrain headache, screaming norepinepherine (NE) deliverance, tightening of the hair follicles in the beard, forearms and upper thighs, reddening of existing facial lesions, development of new skin blemishes, insomnia, dry mouth, canker sores, tachycardia, discomfort, irritation of the disposition, queasy stomach, constipation and undoubtedly, a wry, churlish smirk from barista Sara. The other female barista working together with Sara (name unknown) was similarly tickled. When flagged about a replacement hot black tea or money refund due to contamination, she responded we cant do that here. This is a Barnes & Noble not a Starbucks. E.T. considered purchasing a 2 for 1 homemade cookie with a coupon from the register. When E.T. asked to pick out the 2 cookies he desired to purchase, she responded we cant allow you to do that here, this is a Barnes and Noble, not a Starbucks. Finally, E.T. asked for a to go ice water to assuage a very negative experience. She (unknown name) once again responded, we cant do that here, this is a Barnes & Noble, not a Starbucks. Ice water is available on the side table in the sitting area with the other adulterated, contaminated, tainted, noxious, poisoned, complimentary beverages. E.T. thanked the 2 ladies for their time and exited the Escondido Barnes & Noble coffee shop, never to return. What a public disgrace! Such shameful behavior by 2 young women in the north San Diego community!!

The bathroom social scene at this Barnes & Noble is poppin like rice krispies. So much attention is clearly given to even the most seemingly insignificant details or amenities. When I am looking to drop some thizz and rage hard til closing time, I always choose this spot. Their intrinsic understanding of how to create a organic house-party atmosphere dismantled and reconstructed my entire outlook on life, love, my aspirations, and what is most important. The DJ that was set up in the handicap stall was a tour de force! His flow and ability to perceive the energy of the room granted him supernatural powers. He made me feel like I was the only one in the room while simultaneously conciliating a massive crowd of inebriated hipsters, who are notoriously impossible to appease or entertain. My experience with their bathroom has earned them the name Barnes & No-BULL because when Im in their bookstore, they keep me safe from all forms of bullpooperies... As well as their strict No Chicago Bulls Fans or Players Allowed policy and they have 5 rodeo clowns working at all times to guarantee safety from the local running of bulls.
