There are not a lot of bookstores left, but Barnes and Noble in Roseville, California, is certainly a gem of a bookstore that appears to be doing extremely well in this populated location. The store is HUGE, and offers so many more items than books. In addition to thousands of titles of books in any subject you’d need or want, they have a very large stationary section, gift section, toy section, and more! Inside the store or we’ll kept restrooms and a coffee shop with seating. I absolutely loved this well stocked bookstore and probably could have spent even more time there than I did. It had a wonderful atmosphere, and friendly staff. I highly recommend this Barnes and Noble bookstore.

A large variety of books, toys, gifts, and pokemon cards. My wife Natasha got a few books for Easter, and our 2 Sons got the $60 Pokémon boxes...can you say best mom & dad ever. They have a Starbucks inside the store where you can sit, read, or shop, oh yeah... have some coffee. Yummy!!!Coach gives it ( 5 stars)

My boy Tyler loves reading books and loves Barnes and Noble. This particular Barnes and Noble has a very helpful staff that also likes books and reading and that shows in their customer service. This store is always nicely organized and well maintained. This is a far better way to get books then online, especially for kids. Thank you for keeping books brick and mortar.

They often dont have the next book in a series. They mostly carry soft back books, and hardbacks are slightly damaged. I was not happy with this Location. Inwill say they do have alot of bookish merch but its a limited variety.

This Barnes and Noble has so many books crammed I to it! I know open floorplans are very popular right now, but having to skip the store in Folsome and drive all the way to Roseville to browse a generous selection is a testament to the fact that that bookstores shouldnt follow it.

My family and I. We love this location. Love how roomy the bookstore is So it gives shoppers the ability to commingle without standing on top of each other. Theres just something about a bookstore that just makes you feel so good! The staff is very friendly. Plenty to look at touch and feel. I love seeing all the kids as teenagers. Enjoy being in a bookstore and how It reconnects everybody back to reading books. The coffee bar cafe area is great. Its a fun setting. They have a huge variety of pastries and it really does give you something to look forward to. The service was good. The girls are so nice and I love how they heat up the pastries and put it on a real plate and bring it to you. Its the little things that make you feel special! The store also carries whimsical gifts, They have a great kids area and plenty of childrens gifts and or ideas for gifts? I highly recommend this location. I wish my Barnes& nobles location had the cafe. It really add something special.

I love Barnes & Noble. I grew up spending so much time there, sitting on the floor trying to figure out which book I wanted...and things are still the same.This location is so well taken care of with plenty of books to chose from.Nicely organized and never overcrowded plus the employees are extremely nice.CONS : For some reason AT&T doesnt longer offer wifi here, therefore if you work with your laptop I wont reccomend this locationSeptember 2022

I used to come here all the time... but location is not near me. I brought my grandson here for his first experience with a book store. Adventures everywhere you look. Place was clean, books well take care of, plenty of service. Stopped off at their bakery for a bday treat. Ended up with book and a journal to log all his books he reads. (And a list of his next 11 purchases!

Both my daughter and I shop here often, as a sad result in the fact that our beloved Natomas Barnes and Noble closed or the landlord didnt renew the lease? Or raised the rent/lease astronomically? We have really enjoyed our experience here. We visit on average of every two (2) weeks and spend on average of $300. Our norm is for me to buy a few cooking books, or magazines and head to the cafe..order some drinks and goodies or food while she shops the store. Then I read, she shows me her wants from her list she keeps. Then we talk about her books, we eat/snack and relax. We spend 1 to 3 hours there having uninterrupted time. The staff are always on point! When checking out they always ask her about her choices..relating their knowledge of the books she chose. Makes our experience more personable. We personally have spent more than $3.9K a year with Barnes and Noble.

The staff have always been friendly. A few times I have brought my dad from hospice in a medical van, and they have always been lovely and helpful. People tend to stare and not make room for his wheelchair. Im not native to Roseville and Im being frank, but many shoppers have poor manners. If it wasnt for the staff, we would probably visit other store. But, he loves books and I appreciate every staff member for helping facilitate the joy of books into his life.

Overall good found a book that caught my interest. The cashier some how couldnt find my account so I didnt get my 20% discount and she didnt act like it was a big deal for her. I wanted the book so I didnt make a fuss. Customer service could have been much better. Im just over online next time.

Ive been a customer at Barnes & Noble for over a decade. After I buy a book, I like to sit at their cafe and read for an hour or so, preferably with a good coffee. Unfortunately, theres this particular lady whos working at the cafe. Shes a large, heavyset lady with an extremely LOUD, grating voice.If she is indeed a manager, she should know better than to practically shout like shes at some rave when there are at least a dozen paying customers sitting around reading and trying to study. I understand this isnt a library, but still, SOME consideration would be appreciated. I noticed some people around me getting frustrated as well. The woman got so loud she finally drove me out of the store.

Always good picking of books and new merch at Barnes and Nobles.Coffee section is pretty good too.Restrooms are ATROCIOUS. Ive been coming to Barnes and Nobles for over 7 years. I go about once or twice a month. Every single time I come in, theres something wrong with the ladies bathrooms. Either the bathroom is out of order or theres no soap or theres no toilet paper, or there is toilet paper but the dispenser is not working, or theres a puddle on the floor.Its unfortunate.

I have always loved this place. Im surprised it isnt more popular. There is a nostalgia I feel when I sit on a rainy day, drinking blueberry green tea and reading a book at Barnes and Noble. There are so many adventures waiting behind every book cover, magazine, or just some of the ancillary products sold there. Its almost as comforting as being home. Im a huge fan and love bringing my family in to read and enjoy snacks/ beverages from the Starbucks inside.

Love this store it is always a pleasure to browse, then you do buy more than what you went there for. Unfortunately, they were out of bags. We had to purchase their cloth printed bags to be able to carry out our 12 books. We are also disappointed in their variety of videos and cds. They used to have a much better selection. The staff are extremely kind and helpful. They lookup books for you and will reach the higher shelves to retrieve books for you. Very much appreciated when one is disabled.

Disappointed in the recent changes. After their redesign, not only can you not find anything, but they seem to have eliminated most of their mass market paperbacks and all older books. Instead they now stock the bigger paperbacks only and the prices have gone up - now paperbacks are $12-$22. I have kept my B&N membership for going on a decade to intentionally purchase here instead of Amazon as I dont want to lose brick and mortar bookstores, but I dont know how theyre going to survive now. They already suffered with Amazons pricing, now they have made it even more of a price difference.

I love Barnes & Noble. I love any bookstore that competes with Amazon. And Ive been to this location many times in the past. But its currently a disaster. It was impossible to find anything. Books are no longer alphabetized by the authors name. Many books are shelved with the covers facing out instead of the spines, which provided a sensory overload experience. I didnt know where to look or what I was looking at. It was hard to find my regular sections for browsing without asking for help. I hate giving a poor review for a bookstore, but this no longer feels like a bookstore. I felt overwhelmed, and overstumulated, and I could find anything. I miss my old bookstore.

I used to mostly shop my books at Boarders Books, but they closed years ago in Roseville. This is a very nice alternative, always clean, well stocked and very helpful staff. You can grab a coffee and read your purchase (or prepurchase 😉) in their onsite Starbucks. Found a lot of good activity books in the kids section for my young daughter. For me I go for the Fantasy and Fiction sections which has a large variety to choose from. If youre into tabletop gaming like me there is a good selection of Dungeons and Dragons books as well along with board games.

Used to be 5 stars for me, but bumping down to 3 due to the completed renovation.Organizing the board games area better was well done, but removing the central information kiosk was a bad idea. Now you often have to hunt someone down in order to get help.The other bad idea was moving all of the fantasy & sci fi into Young Adults section. There are definitely some books in those genres that 12 year-olds should *not* be reading, and Im sure there are some adults who dont really appreciate their genre of choice being moved to what is basically the kids section.

My family and I love this bookstore. They have a vast selection to choose from a Starbucks located inside. This way you can grab your favorite iced coffee, latte, or frap and enjoy your new book. The interior has been modified and it helps with the flow. The back area is now mostly collectibles, some vinyl, board games, and educational science projects. Even Legos! Sometimes busy, but thats how everywhere is right now. So please be responsible and respectful of staff. They are more helpful if you can maintain your patience. I would recommend this store to anyone who doesnt want to wait for an Amazon package or anyone who doesnt favor e-books. Its so nice to be able to hold it in your hands. Even if you dont live in Roseville, its still worth the trip.

They have completely redesigned the toy area. It is extremely more organized. But they have eliminated their centrally located assistance kiosk, which makes no sense. The front is always too busy to grab someone for help and now youll have to hunt for a worker. I ended up helping an older gentleman because the kiosk was gone and couldnt find someone.

Bathrooms are dirty, and unkept. No paper towels etc. The “Starbucks” inside is not a real Starbucks. Got my drink wrong and when I went to them to let them know, the employee was rude and told me “we are not a real Starbucks so we don’t have their usual menu items”. It would be nice to know that before I paid. 🤨 I ordered a hot tea, and got a iced tea. They didn’t want to replace it, they made me pay once again in order to get a hot tea. It took forever for them to make our other drinks, and we had to go up to them twice to remind them we were waiting for our drinks. Very incompetent. When we got our macchiatos, they tasted like water with milk. Terrible experience.

Overheard a customer say, “I’m looking for a book but I can’t remember the name of the series.” The worker asked the customer to describe what happens in the book. The customer said, “So this girl inherits…” and the worker immediately knew. We love this Barnes and nobles. Most staffs are very helpful and friendly. However, this afternoon one older lady was actually very rude there. She is a lady with blonde hair and a lot of makeup, hairspray . Her communication and customer service skills were horrid and lacked any form of hospitality. Her skills don’t seem to match that the rest of the staff. The other staff was a 10 out of 10 for me but her she is a1 out of 10.

The deals are very nice. The Customer Sevice desk is very pleasant and helpful. However the children`s games, toys and puzzles are a little overpriced. However Check-Out is usually quick, efficient and friendly. The onlyIssue I have is, why does Barnes & Noble run out or bags so much. Afterspending a considerable amount of money in the store the company fails to provide a bag for the customer. As much revenue that comes through the Barnes & Noble store, that is unacceptable and fails the customer courtesy expectations. Then you offer the customer to buy a bag after the have spentA good amount of money already in the store, especially during the ChristmasHoliday. Wasnt too impressed with the customer service. Was in the kids section when this lady worker with really short hair asked me if I needed help. I initially said no. Then, I asked her to get me a book on the very top shelf. She got the book for me and then said annoyingly, you can use the step stool next time. Sorry lady, Im pregnant and dont want to step on the stool and possibly hurt myself. Besides, why would you ask me if I needed help and then seem annoyed when I actually asked for it? I ended up having to switch the books because the one she handed me had bended corners. Other than poor customer service, the store is decent.

I gave this store three stars because the layout was hard to follow. Ive been to a LOT of Barnes & Noble stores and this felt like a different store. Every aisle you turn down is a dead end. I got to say this is still a treat to go into a real bookstore love going into Barnes & nobles. But I must must bring to attention my biggest observation at this location (and in recollection anytime Ive ever been to any Barnes & nobles).... This store makes no effort to bring in people of minorities color or cultural backgrounds other than upper class white people. I dont know exactly how it got to this point but if you look around any Barnes & Noble there are no lower class almost anything there theres certainly only upper class whites and Asians I seen shopping in store. More blatantly I didnt see one black or brown face in that place. And I dont know exactly what that means but it means something. With the division in the world today... I felt out a place I felt out of place and stared at by staff... Likely because Im not white or upper class, as anything outside of this would seem odd or peculiar at Barnes & Noble. Please find ways to be more inclusive! Please hire more African American staff.

The best! Huge sections for my kids (with a train table and chairs). I always find what I need, and the staff is always friendly. Last visit I was in line with my 2 year old, who was starting to lose it. The cashier started entertaining him while I was checking out, and I appreciated it SO MUCH! The staff are super friendly and all seem to have a love of books and reading. The Starbucks could benefit from additional seating. And the magazine section only really has the basics and some hobby ones. Look elsewhere for art magazines. This has always been my least favorite Barnes and Noble in the area. Due to some of the employees, not the selection.I just purchased (evening of 9/30/21) an arm full of bottles drinks from the Cafe to bring home. They didnt have bags at the Cafe and was told to head to the registers. With drinks spread across both arms I walked to the first register and was told by the little blonde girl that she was training and was directed to the line. I told her I only needed a bag and she said I would still have to see someone else. Terrible service. I hope she doesnt make it through her training.

The drink request was pretty simple,(iced green tea, no water, dragon fruit base) yet because she had never heard of that or seen it, the drink request was a bother and she became super annoyed, even got an eye roll.when she completed the order I asked if it had green tea and if her eyes could have roll back any farther it probably would have been a workers comp claim as she said snotty, yes. As I left the store I was oh well but honestly she was not professional at all and it really bothered me. By the way they use Starbucks product but its not ran by Starbucks. The accociate I spoke with used excuses for bad behavior.🤦which is a poor excuse when all trades are stressed, being rude is not acceptable. My take away isGo enjoy the books but steer clear of their cafe and go to a real SB if you want your drink right.

Im an avid reader. I read as many hours a day as I can. Im not able to get out as much as I use to so I do a lot of online ordering and ordering over the phone. Barnes and Noble are extremely helpful. You can call them, order your books, pay them with debit or credit card. You get your books within a day or two depending on the time of day you make your order. Its terrific and easy. Im happy! I recommend it to busy people.

It was a great experience when I last shopped at Barnes & Noble 01-25-19. I tried the shop online & pick up option. When I arrived, the books were ready at the counter. But, of course, I just had to browse. When I couldnt find something else I was interested in reading, an employee really rose to the level we dont see in retail...or elsewhere it seems. She searched on the computer and the shelves, suggested alternative books that were similar and offered to order it. Then when I was done, I went to the counter to pay. The young lady there was also very cheerful and polite. She actually seemed to really enjoy her job! A good shopping experience is always nice. Thank you to the two employees who helped.

As odd as it sounds, I actually rarely buy books at Barnes & Noble anymore (unless there is an awesome book in the clearance section that I am dying to have). However, I frequent their toy section more than any actual toy store. Some of them can be quite expensive, but are actually still a lot cheaper than other specialty stores. Also, if you catch them on a good sale day, they could be about 70% to 75% off. A great deal if you ask me! :)

I love books so being in a bookstore is like a second home. I have to admit, I havent gone into a mortar and brick in a long time. They have a huge section dedicated just to young kids (I am a frequent there to get the latest Warriors books), a *huge* selection of books, and a little help center in the middle. Now, my experience with the people at this little center have not been the best, but thats besides the point.When you walk in, if you turn right they also have a little cafe. I believe its a Starbucks? I cant remember.In the check-out line, they have little kiosks seperating the line that have really cute stuff, ranging from Harry Potter clip-on book marks to little books with drawing prompts. To me, every Barnes & Noble is a wonderful place to spend time, including this store. It has the wonderful aroma of books and coffee and perfect music for browsing or reading. My trip to this store was to shop for puzzles and true crime books. Most puzzles were 1000 pieces, a few 300. We bought 4 of good quality for $55. The true crime section is one small bookcase with nothing that I wanted to read which was disappointing. Of course, they will take any orders for later pick up.

SO MUCH MORE goes into a physical bookstore than a warehouse, so I completely understand why the books need to be sold at retail price. Have enjoyed the Roseville Barnes and Noble since it opened in 2000.However, hate it when the move the books around and recently theyve sorted the new book section based on the color of the book cover!Very pretty but idiotic!

I have always loved this Barnes and Nobel but since covid they have changed the layout to accommodate social distancing and it looks lovely while keeping us safe. It was not crowded and they were full of toys and books.

We had a hard time finding books and the employees there were just so wonderful they helped us we didnt have to wait for anything everyone was wearing a mask it was so wonderful.

This location was very accommodating. There was supposed to be schools caroling outside but it was raining so they let them come inside & use the back. The service here is always helpful but theres always a line to check out. Great selection for the whole family.

Overpriced most the time of course but has a huge selection. My daughter Loves coming here even if shes not buying anything and shes only 12😊 helpful employees, good sales and a nice atmosphere.

Bought a book for a friend of mine daughter. I bought a book on rabbits she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up. So I am feeding her knowldge because she has a rabbit and trained tge rabbit to poop in a box in two days. Yay. So I am helping her out.

This location is great. I really like the remodel and movement of the sections. I ended up leaving with some gift cards.

Store was under staffed and when asking a question about a book at customer service they were very rude. I even gave them the author and title and they didnt listen when I told them the author and tried to tell me the book comes out next year, when the book I was looking for was released today.

It had been a couple of years since visiting a B&N, so when we dropped by to pick up a book ordered online, I quickly remembered what a delightful place B&N is and how much I missed it. Im so glad it is this in business.

I practically live in this place! I love the variety of books and gifts as well as the cafe, kind associates and great deals! Not to mention a fun place to just chill and read your favorite books
