This Barnes & Noble is HUGE!! They have almost every book ever made! They have new, old Spanish and kid books! Al for super low prices as well! I highly recommend this Book Store aswell the give props to the staff for being so knowledgeable!!! They know so much about every book that its so amazing when trying to decide what book you want! Highly recommend!!!

An actual bookstore. Well they are more than a bookstore now. Collectibles, Legos, boardgames, Manga, toys, and project kits.Lots of sales, and discounts, friendly helpful staff. This is a great place to shop and a great place to spend some time.Their prices are a little over competitors but its a really nice place and has a connected Starbucks.

I was here for a local author signing in La Mesa. It was wonderful to spend time with local author Ethan Howard and others.Regarding Barnes and Noble, it is a bookstore! It is loaded with knowledge, adventure, faraway places and again, it is a bookstore. Nothing more to say. ☺

Went in after a meal to find a graphic novel I wanted, Had to use the restroom... None available. Went to the Starbucks connected to the bookstore, no bathroom. Left the book and bought it off Amazon from the bathroom in my own home. Cheaper, and I was able to use a bathroom.

I was followed around the store by staff and security and had my photo taken (by security) as if Im a thief. Apparently, being a 6 foot tall Native American man, in this region, is reason enough to be treated like this, at this store. I wouldnt recommend it (giving this store your business ) to anyone. Especially, if they have self respect.

Its a great store. Unfortunately, it is suffering from the recent issue of people who have forgotten how to act in public spaces.Security has their hands full with some of the people there that have ill intent. They seemed understaffed and ready to head home for the night. But everyone was nice in spite of some of the puddles they found. 🫣

This is a well -laid-out store with a wide selection of books, magazines, trips, games, and gifts. The employees were helpful and easy to find when I had a question. I was looking for a particular specialty magazine and they had a huge selection so I ended up buying more magazines than Id planned! I docked one star because this is a long store, spanning from one edge of the mall to the center area, and they had the checkout on one side of the store closed, with a sign to checkout on the other side. Id entered from the mall side, walked to the outside/front of the store to the periodical area to choose my magazines, then walked back to the mall side where I saw the sign, so then I had to walk BACK to the front of the store, then back to the mall side! Im able-bodied the extra steps werent a big deal but I was in a time crunch already that day, so the extra back-and-forthing was frustrating.

Love this Barnes & Noble!!Been comimg here with my family since I was little kid.As far as the book selection goes, theyre stocked pretty well across-the-board.Helpful and attentive staff, been going here for years and Ive never had an issue.This location is connected to a StarbucksThe store overall has a great selection.Nice childrens book area as well as fairly large game section for the children.Theres also a fairly large adult table top game section. Theres also a whole section of the store dedicated to note books and stationary. Lastly, there is a card section in the back.The only area in which this location is lacking is the music and movie selection, no fault of theirs, they just dont have the space for it like other Barnes & Nobles. Theyre probably pivoting away from that because of streaming. Nice that they have something at least. However, if youre looking for Cds or DVDs/Blu-ray I would search elsewhere. Their Santee location has a great selection.Lastly there is a wonderful little Bible section in the back. What struck me was that an employee had taken the time to add handwritten notes in front of each Bible translation that describe their differences! Really good selection of books, comics, magazines, board games, collectibles, and even Lego sets! The staff is very friendly and helpful, the store is clean and well organized, and the location is super convenient. I am usually able to find what I am looking for, and if they dont have it in stock its super easy to order what you want in the store. B&N is large chain, but its nice to have a physical bookstore to go to where you can browse and physically interact with the books before you buy them. Second only to a library!

Love this place. They have great gifts. Not only books. Cute knick knack presents 🎁 or cute trinkets. Found some Miniature fake record player. They prob still sell full sized real ones 🤣 good place for whole family.all ages and diff topics for books. Toy sets, science sets, craft sets for kids or us who still love those things. Good for your kids or grandkids gifts to send them right. Oh and the cashier guy was nice, chatted with him about products. Was good experience.

Its easy to forget a time when Amazon wasnt king and we actually went into stores to hold books in our hands, but I have to say I love going back into B&N and more importantly, my kids love it even more! Nice, standard Barnes & Noble. It is best to park directly out front, where you can see the sign and entrance. I parked on a different side of the mall and their entrance inside the mall closes earlier than the entrance from the parking lot. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Ill definitely be back again.

This Barnes and noble has 0 seat covers in the women’s bathroom. & at first I thought maybe they are just out but after going in every stall to double check they don’t even have the dispenser installed, meaning they don’t even provide any type of seat cover??? How unhygienic & just gross, that is basic needs for a bathroom in the store. Had to use a ton of toilet paper to make my own seat cover. A lot of us have disabilities which makes us unable to squat or hover over the toilet to use it. So unhygienic.

I love how Im still able to go to a brick and mortar store. They have all the books Ive been looking for, if not I usually just order online from Barnes and noble and ship to my home. The prices are usually on par with other book stores as well as Amazon. Workers are always willing to help when looking for a specific book. This is the place to go from new book releases and a great book to read on a casual day.Great place to buy Magic the Gathering cards along with Pokemon cards, Ive seemed to catch them at the right time when they are on sale. Usually kept behind the counter which is usually the first place I go look when we go to Barnes and Noble.

This Barnes & Noble is in the Grossmont Mall and open till 9 or 10 p.m. depending on the day. They allow you to browse for multiple hours if youre not certain what youre looking for. Ive gone multiple times for myself and had no problems.When I went in around Christmas asking a worker in the childrens area what they would suggest for two separate ages she was able to give me recommendations based on the individual childrens interests. Both children enjoyed the books they received so the recommendations were successful. The worker was also very nice and patient with my unfamiliarity with childrens books.Overall, Ive found the staff in this location to stay out of your way unless you request assistance, but theyre very friendly if you do need help.

I took my kids her to get an idea of what they where interested in. They loved it. They have everything from journaling books pens markers to educational toys. We left with a mad libs book and bookmarks. They are asking to go back already. I brought back memories of hours in there with my dad.

Still going strong, Ive been coming to this Barnes & Noble since high school when it opened in 1997, which was huge at the time because Starbucks was new to SD and the only one in East County for a while was never door to B&N. They always have a great selection and can always order what they dont have. I love the puzzle section myself. Hope they never close ❤

Customer service is friendly here and the store is always well organized, well stocked, and well staffed. I do wish they would price match with their competitors (in this day and age bookstores need all the perks they can get to draw in customers), but all things considered their prices are usually fair. This store usually has a good selection of board games, toys, and collectables as well. And of course it has a Starbucks attached for those of you who like a cup of Joe while you read. Theres also a nice kids section that I used to take my younger siblings to when we were at that mall.

I love this Barnes and Noble. We spend so much time at this store, it feels like a home away from home! They offer a wide variety of books, childrens books, games, and cute gifts. I am being gracious giving one star to this place.At Grossmont Center there is a Red Lobster.The sign says they are open.I do not agree.My friend and I went there for lunch today and it took almost 10 minutes for somebody to come to the front.A woman appeared behind the desk and did not say hello or any other thing.We said we were there to have lunch.She told us that there was only one waitress and the wait would be 30 minutes if we wanted to wait. She said there were 3 parties ahead of us.I had a question so I asked if we could sit at a table and have a glass of water until it was our turn.No you cannot do that she said. We will have to seat you at your table when it is your turn.Never been treated so rudely in my entire life. I think she did not even want to be there but alone work there.Even the lobsters were not there in the tank.We went to Anthonys fish grotto and was treated wonderfully andirthly and the food was great.NO MORE RED LOBSTER. It does not exist at Grossmont Center.

Its nice to have an actual bookstore to peruse the titles. The employees are really helpful. I like that this location sponsors local schools in the form of fundraisers and book readings. Along with the usual books and periodicals, they have games, STEAM focused toys/kits, anime collectibles, calligraphy supplies and other fine gifts. Family and autism friendly. Its a wonderful place to pass the time and encourage a love for reading and books.

What a great place to do Christmas shopping! I took care of over half of my list here. Customer service is fabulous here, a very nice gal spent a great amount of time with us and even pointed out the perfect gift for my son that I would have never expected to see here. “Steve Says” do yourself a favor and start your Christmas shopping here next year and if you can’t find the perfect gift there is always there timeless gift cards that assures your loved ones get exactly what they wanted. We were referred to this store by grossmont because the computer said this store had four of the puppets we were looking for. This store did not have for puppets or any of our puppets and thought perhaps they had been shipped in but not unpacked. My granddaughters birthday was coming right up so we ordered the puppet online and saved $2. We were frustrated that two stores did not have this very popular puppet.

Love Barnes and Nobles but found it difficult to stomach the sheer woke content the store displayed instead of other content...., I looked beyond it and tried to not let politics and the strange pushedagenda ruin the public space for me, but picked up ThrowThrow Burrito board game for home, so we at least found something we wanted. But please Barnes and Nobles. Lets tone down all of that, i would like my place of purchasing my reading materials to feature everyone equally and advertise equal partys, peoples, books and agendas and not be subjective to a single woke whatever it is youre trying to push on people...we see you B&N.

You cant go wrong at a B&N. This location has a Starbucks adjacent to it. It is wheelchair accessible. I wish it had more seating if one were to decide to sit and read their new purchase. Also, I would recommend that this location have a larger variety of Literary Criticism books available.

Im sad to say that the reviews here do not reflect the current truths about this store. Every business goes through transitions and turnovers, and for the last year Ive really seen that to be the case at this store location. The staff are always happy to help their customers to find what theyre looking for, or order the items there on the spot if they dont have it in stock. Grossmont Center is home to lots of regular customers, and we can attest to this stores ability to offer great customer service. Theyve always been helpful to me.

Exceptionally friendly staff. This particular location is laid out strangely because its a single floor location in a narrow storefront. It didnt feel crowded, but it felt hard to navigate. Also, I felt the on-hand selection was a bit sparse. We found what we were looking for, but we didnt browse as much as we normally do at a B&N because of this. Overall, wed stop in again should we be in the area.

I thought I would buy a book old school style, walk in and buy it. As a Amazon member I could have gotten it cheaper and mailed to my home.i love book stores and see many closing because of the internet.so I thought I shop here. At check out they ask for my phone number and my wifes name pops up.she is a teacher and was at Starbucks. The guy said she qualifies for a discount but since she wasnt checking out he was not going to give it to me. No big deal i thought but I went out of my way to do my 2 cents of trying to keep these brick and mortar stores operating and this guy to do this to me I did not like. I would think he would appreciate im helping a little for him to keep his job but apparently not. It was a few bucks so its not a huge deal but to be honest to I think Ill just order from Amazon, the drivers are friendlier than this guy. I went there for a specific book for grandma and though I walked by the table twice and didnt know the title was taken right to it by a knowledgeable customer service representative. Next I spotted a a novel that looked interesting. I am reading The 1619 Project which should be mandatory reading every American and the novel I purchased is by Ta-Nehisi Coates, The water dancer is in keeping with my current interests. One of the highlights of the mall, the vast array of all genres of books, as well as all manner of board games, is unmatched. The ambience here is perfect, as to be expected of Barnes and Noble. This location is perhaps THE bookstore to go to if you live anywhere closeby, youll not find a better one anywhere else. The fact that its attached to the shopping center is just a bonus.

One of the last, local retail book stores. Located within Grossmont Center, a shopping mall with a movie theater, small restaurants and anchored by Walmart and Target. This Barnes and Noble is a good size and offers a very nice childrens area with scheduled activities and supports local schools with fundraising. The staff are very helpful with a dedicated Service desk in the center. Starbucks coffee is attached and you can access with entrances both direct from the parking lot or mall.

With enough magazine racks to fill my living room we had many excellent choices.I do find that magazines on the topmost shelf are out of my reach. Im short, but at 53 I expect to be able to reach products for myself without having to ask a taller person or employee for help. Or to have to scale the shelves like a rock climber.They have a huge selection of books and magazines on nearly every topic. The attitude of the employees makes all the difference in the world. I often drive past the Grossmont B and N and go to the store in Santee because of the staff. The staff at the Grossmont store seem not to want to help (sort of like a waitress/waiter who sees you waving your hand for help but pretends not to). Whereas the staff at Santee stop and ASK if you need help if they notice you searching for a moment too long. I had a big purchase which did not get put on my Rewards card and the person who checked me out seemed put off at the idea of having to re-scan the items so that they would be appropriately applied to my Rewards card. Bookstores are in grave danger of becoming obsolete -the personal touch that a helpful, knowledgeable and enthusiastic group of staff members can provide might just be the only lifeline to survival for these stores.

Ordering on line for pick up. Found out its only good for 5 days and then oder is returned. I picked this place as I planned to be in PD in a week. Taking to bookseller service rep was difficult because of phones. Had to call 3xs..2** for Anthony. As Im reading book, few pages are defective, need to go back and exchange. Tip: Ordering on-line, PICK UP WITHIN 5 DAYS..period.

Walked in earlier today and greated before I could get in the door all the way. Jane provided superior customer service and was a fantastic judge of character. She peaked my interest when without provocation (after I was addressed coming threw the door I simply stated I was killing time and just looking) directed me to Y The last Man a graphic novel by Brian K Vaughan. I devoured it! Consumed by the pages the story sucked me in, divorced me from my route and surprisingly left my fingers paper cut free (dispite the constant page turning. Well they had all the books I wanted, I was annoyed that I was unable to enter from the main part of the mall I had to walk all around the outside of the mall to get entrance.
