The BEST Barnes & noble. The staff are caring and very helpful towards every customer. You can tell they genuinely want every customer to have a great experience. They remember almost all their customers and what you like which is the best part.The cafe especially is what I look forward to. The staff in the cafe is very quick and very helpful when it comes to orders. You can tell they’re making everything with care, they’re better than the Starbucks locations if I’m being honest. Ally and hayley are the best! All the staff is great really!I recommend this location to everyone because I promise you’ll walk out with a positive experience.

The goto book store since there arent many around anymore. Vinyl record prices are a bit steep but that is probably because I am used to used vinyl record store prices. Chill out and get in here for a minute or two. Friendly staff and quick checkout.

Its been a while since visiting a Barnes and noble, my daughter enjoys reading and wanted to go and buy a few books, but walking through the store ruffling through vinyl records, cds, and magazines I felt some nostalgia. Im glad these stores are still standing.

Took my son in to find one of his favorite Dogman books. Its clean and has an open layout. Im glad its still open, it was pretty busy when I went in. Dogman has its own little section by the way, so it was easy to find.

Maybe my review is biased since, well I love books and this store has a lot of them. Either way, I lived this place. Service was helpful and friendly, taking time to answer our many questions and help us find numerous book titles. All the books were tidy, except the poetry section (which I think is ironic), and the store was overall very clean. Atmosphere was great, I had some small chit chat with some other customers about a book, which they helped me find, so yes, overall very good experience.

There are hardly any bound paper book stores anymore with the advent of digital content readers. We are very fortunate to have Barnes & Noble nearby. Along with the excellent Santa Clara library system there are plenty of reading and learning opportunities for everyone regardless of income. For birthday and holidays and just because days I love to give books with a personal note inside the cover. Halloween is coming....May I suggest a book children just love, Room On The Broom, by Julia Donaldson. Its fun without being scary and the verse is one children 2-7 love to say along with the reader. Zoom in and pic it up! PS the wonderfully illustrated and bold colors is something not available in digital. Best of all children love to hold the book and trace the characters with their fingers. And thats why printed books should never fade away.

The manager, Scott, blamed our special needs clients and said that they had destroyed the women’s restroom when he got a complaint about the filthy state of it from 2 older women.When the 2 women asked for an explanation as to why the restrooms were so dirty, he said, “I’m sorry, we have some special needs adults at the back of the store who probably destroyed it and had a party in there. Thank you for making us aware of this.” Mind you, I was right there with one of my clients when he said this. None of our special needs clients had even used the restroom either. I used the restroom myself when we first got there and can say they were filthy before we even arrived, so Scott blamed them based off of his own assumptions.When we complained about being blamed to the employee who was sent to clean the restroom in question, she said, “Scott never said that”, then rolled her eyes at us before putting her earbuds back in and going inside the women’s restroom (we sadly didn’t get the woman’s name, but she had dark brown/black hair and wore a dark green cardigan). We were so embarrassed that no one defended us that we ended up leaving. This happened today, on 11/1/23 around 11:30 AM.Don’t bring your business here- they don’t appreciate it. Not only that, they are all ableist. These special needs individuals cannot defend themselves and were the scapegoats for these employees. They should have admitted to the older women that they failed to keep the restroom clean due to their own incompetence. I will never shop here again. Scott needs to be retrained or fired, and the same goes to the woman who with the dark brown/black hair with the green cardigan who cleaned the restroom in question. A manager and their staff should welcome their customers, but him and his staff managed to make us feel the opposite.

I come here with my kids every other weekend, and there are always new books for them to read. The atmosphere is quiet, and kids enjoy reading here.Edit: Eight years later, I still come with my daughter. Not as often as before, but it is a good place to spend a Sunday afternoon reading.

Easy to open doors & Spacious interior. Clean restroom.But theres no marked, designated disability parking.The selection is....bland, to say the least. They didnt have any of the best sellers in numerous categories (including manga), & their reference book section (the very reason we traveled a hour to go there) is nonexistent.If youre only looking for fluff, pop-culture novels or childrens books, then youll like this place. If youre looking for anything else, you wont.

I went with my girlfriend and my parents. My father and I walked off one way and my mother and girlfriend chose their own route. About 5 minutes later I was sitting in the magazine section with a Carmel frap in one hand and gaming on my phone with the other. All the while my father having found a book to read sat silently reading right next to me. Feeling that childhood feeling of security that only a parent can induce I quickly fell into sleeps warm embrace .

Man Barnes and nobles brought back all kinds of memories. I found the old school big Yellow Waldo Book and more modern newer ones that I found . I Even Found some Nicely Stocked! Pokémon Cards and at a good price and I actually got some good pulls from them! Check them out it’s a nice store and super chill environment here in Gilroy, Ca and they even have a coffee Shop inside

I love books in general. They have a good selection considering books in that so popular anymore. I like their discount cookbooks and health books. I frequent their Cafe for cookies and coffee its a Starbucks cafe. The times I went wasnt really crowded and I was able to sit down and browse through my selection of books. As a member I had Diamond a discount coupon in addition to my 10% off so I received 20% off my order. I like the ability to look around and buy books.

I hope this store never closes in this post-Amazon world. Theres so much stuff to choose from and so many places to just sit down and read. The little cafe is nice and a cool retreat on a hot summers day. Im also really liking the updated toy section where the music and DVDs used to be. Theres a great selection of merch for kids, teens, and adult geeks like myself.

I like that this Barnes&Noble is very clean, the bathrooms are exceptionally and clean. The employees are always patient, kind, and very helpful even though the store can be busy.The Starbucks inside (which is not *really* a Starbucks, they just sell Starbucks products, so if you have a gift card, it will not be accepted) is awesome. The baristas are happy as can be, considering theyre constantly dealing with some annoying customers. And they are patient if you should happen to have a specific drink you want made of your own concoction.All in all, a really awesome Barnes&Noble considering its location is in Gilroy, CA.

I still love the feel of a book in my hands over a Kindle or other e-reader. This place always has the best service and a vast selection of books. Staff are knowledgeable and eager to assist. I even found a funeral guest book here the last time I came. Not exactly the most common item, but the help desk associate knew exactly where to look! Lovely cafe in site with coffees and teas and wonderful pastries. Come in, youll lose a bit of time to a simpler time!

Completely racist!!!!!!! Do not come here Melissa the store manager is a racist. If you are of color you will get no welcome, hi, or hello from her! I went in with a $20 gift card that was gifted to my son for his birthday. The cashier inputted the PIN number wrong more then 3x and got our gift card blocked! She then calls over the manager, the manager looks us up and down and says that’s because there’s no money on here. Makes us look completely awful in front of everyone as if we are trying to scam them or use a fraudulent card. I begin to tell her well we’ve never used it and it was a gift and she replied with well I don’t know what to tell ya, then walks away. Then I call customer service and come to find out it was their error not ours!!!! When I go back in and tell them they don’t even care and say well okay I’m sorry. Didn’t ask to refund me and do the switch or anything! Is this the kind of manager you have working for you? I’m disgusted!!!!!!!

I really enjoy spending time at this location. Compared to any other B&N Ive been to, this is by far the most empty. Customer service has always been at least good. The floors and bathrooms have always been clean.After getting my usual coffee drink from the Barnes & Noble Cafe that serves Starbucks, I tend to take a few magazines to the childrens area so I can read, while my daughter can either practice reading, playing with the wooden train set or looking at more books.I almost hate giving this review for fear of it getting too busy!

With no bookstore in my hometown, this is the closest first run bookstore in the area. They have a good selection of fiction, sci-fi, fantasy, and ya books. The company is in financial trouble and that is apparent in the products available in store. They sell more than books. A wide variety of book tie ins and toys are also on offer. The cafe has a nice selection of goodies. Ample parking and in a very busy outdoor shopping center.

Im writing on behalf of my mother who is so upset and disappointed by her treatment by management. We are a family of educators who love Barnes and Noble, at least all but the Gilroy thanks to their manager this past Sunday evening. My mom was trying to get a delivery fee waived and because of how much she purchases they usually offer to do so. This time was different, the manager was sarcastic, belittling, and so disrespectful. She yelled about policy when all she had to do was say a polite no. I can understand some people have bad days but this was over the top. I wont get into details but lets just say cancer was mentioned by my mom and the manager literally said I dont care. I honestly cant believe Barnes and Noble would employ such people. Sadly, we, my whole family, will no longer be shopping at the Gilroy location due to their lack of common courtesy, let alone customer service. We have never had this experience at the Almaden or Stevens Creek locations. Happy holidays to all.

A large and well stocked store, but some areas need more stock since pickings can be slim. Id avoid movies and music though. The prices there are higher then other places. Their stock of books, manga and such is superior though and more often then not, very fairly priced. They even sometimes have Funko Pop exclusives which is fun.

Terrible business practices.I wanted to get a book I found on Amazon for $37 and found it also on Barnes and Nobles website also for $37. Then on the website it said check local inventory so I did and it was available.So I went in, it was a nice store, and found the book. I took it to the counter where I was asked for a rewards card number, was solicited to get a rewards card, a credit card, was asked for my email, etc, etc. After declining all that I was told my total was $67. What?So I looked at my phone where I had their website up and the clerk informed me that they dont price match.... I said it was there own website and she said even if I went online and reserved the book to pick up in store, they would still charge me the in-store price!So I told her I didnt want it, that I would just pick it up on Amazon. She then suggested I try the Barnes and Noble website! Zero self awareness!And they wonder by the brick and mortar books stores are closing!

I wish that we had a Barnes & Noble near our home! Since we dont, this one in Gilroy is always our rest stop when we are returning from San Francisco or San Jose.We both always have a lot of pent-up book buying energy and we probably spend too much. My husband always comes home with a stack of computer technology books, and I always add some new cookbooks to my collection. This time it was Valeries Home Cooking!I know that we could buy our books from B&N online, but it just isnt the same as spending time browsing through our favorite aisles in the bookstore.

We were looking for a book they had online and thought it would be easier to just go in and purchase it. They had the book in the store for almost double their website...it would have been cheaper to just purchase online and do free delivery to store. Also, I heard 3 or 4 separate customers approach staff for assistance and they never knew where anything was. I heard them tell a woman that they didnt have something that I later found trying to help my husband find the items he was looking for (that they were not at all helpful about either).

What a neat surprise to find a Barnes and Noble in Gilroy! Book snobs that we are, we had to pay a visit and I had to get my coffee fix.Sadly, B&N only plays host to Starbucks so I got a very milky chai latte but hey, I got 10% off my order for being a member.Today, we were merely browsers and didnt end up buying anything. We scoffed at an author that we think has become the Thomas Kinkade of books because we saw his books all over the store. We checked out the usual relationship books because we like to laugh at the advice that they give to clueless couples unlike ourselves and we also found a great spell to ward off hurricanes in the New Age section apparently you should point a knife in the air, mumble a chant, and then thrust the knife into the ground. I would be tempted to try it but Im afraid my neighbors might call the cops on me and Id end up in some insane asylum. And all throughout our adventure, the speakers overhead played some pretty bad versions of old classic songs that sounded like something youd hear in in a karaoke bar by a drunk singer.Oh wow, it was quite the experience but it was the same old B&N with its ample selection of books and clearance racks and all the good stuff we love about being in a bookstore. Its a little smaller than most locations but we still loved being there.

Glad this walk-in book store has survived the purge. Others, like Borders, werent able to have enough vision to see the 500Lbs elephant (the internet) with a 800Lbs gorilla (Amazon) riding it charging head-long into their business model. While I do use Amazon I also send some business B&Ns direction as well.- They keep a good supply of books covering a wide range of subject matter on hand supplemented with an extensive selection a magazines.- It doesnt hurt that they also have a $tarBucks right there inside the store along with a number of small tables and chairs so that you can relax and catch-up on a bit of reading. On occational visits Ill use this to preview magazines of interest so that I can thin the candidates out to those of substance before making my purchase for more detailed reading on my frequent flights back and forth.- Im bi-coastal (Hawaii and CA) and glad I have a Barnes and Noble within a 15 minute drive at both locations (although I do lament the closing of the Kahala Mall B&N and now being forced to run up to Ala Moana instead).

I Love this store. Unfortunately one of the (no nametag) employee ladies sitting in the middle of the store at the Help Desk was extremely rude. How can I best describe her with out offending. She had a baldish, frizzy, poofy, dry, wavy, orange-faded with reddish tone hair, and droppy, tired, dry, little eyes with almost no eyelashes. She was a little on the heavy side, measuring 57 in height. Next time you visit im sure you will be able to pick her out of the bunch. This (no name) employee was sitting there and as I stood there waiting to make eye contact she says yeah?i asked where can I find...( blah...blah) books?she hit a few keys andsaid we dont carry ANY books from --- at all in the entire storenever making any eye contact with me .Then I just walked away. Took it upon myself to look, and just my luck I found what I was looking for.

Horrible customer service!! Cashier looked me up and down then walked away from the register when I was ready to be rang up.
