Clean store, friendly and attentive staff, wide selection including childrens area and Hatry Potter. Clean café area, plenty of tables and seats, free wifi. I nice place to browse or buy!

I have been going to this Barnes and Noble since it first opened in 2003. I have always loved it. They keep it clean and orderly. My one complaint (which is an issue just about everywhere these days), is that there is never, ever enough staff. On a good day, there might be a person at the customer service counter and one person checking. They are putting in a Chic Filet next door to it and Im not sure if that is the reason or not but they have decided after 21 years to move to the Streets of Brentwood. So many stores have closed down in that shopping center and Ive heard the same excuse everytime that they leave because the rent is too high so Im not sure why the move though as a loyal customer who has spent easily thousands of dollars in the Barnes and Noble since it opened, Im extremely upset and angry with the company for moving the store and knowing the Streets of Brentwood, it will be a much smaller store, probably like the one in Concord which I do not like at all.

Great selection of books, collectibles, DVDs, and more! Unless an item is on sale, do not expect great prices. A Blu-ray that sells for $19.99 elsewhere is $39.99 here. Aside from this downside, if youre looking for obscure titles, they have a decent selection and can order if the title is unavailable in store. The prices can vary widely, and some are more reasonable than others. Unfortunately, they do not price match, so what you see is what you pay (but as a member you will save 10 percent). Despite these annoyances, it is a fun little trip to take if you want to escape and check out things you may not see at other stores.

I absolutely love this bookstore! The cozy ambiance makes browsing through the shelves a delight. The warm lighting and comfortable seating areas create the perfect atmosphere to get lost in a good book. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend a hidden gem. The people who work at this location are always so kind and helpful to me. I get a lot of cds here (don’t hate I drive an old car so I gotta use a cd player sometimes) and they have great sales of some classic albums. Not really the type of bookstore I would chill in though there’s not a lot of seating available.

This is our go to Barnes & Noble because its the closest to us and its a pretty big one. I like the fact that they have a private parking lot and it is next to other shops. This one has tons of books to look at for both kids and adults.Theres a specific area for kids which they can hang out and look at books. Theres also a cafe that brew Starbucks coffee, they sell other items like mugs as well.At the main book store there is so much to look at: books, accessories, gift items...I never get bored when I go in here. But also I go in for a purpose :).Staff in the main book store and cafe are friendly and helpful. Ive never had a bad service here and the store is always clean.Note: Oh sometimes on holidays they do gift wrapping which is awesome!

I found it disturbing to see books about Witchcraft randomly placed throughout the store...near the front entrance, in the Bargain Book section and a couple of other areas. If my child was still young I wouldnt want her exposed to that! Should be all together in its own section.

This store has never disappoints me. Went in to buy books for my 9 year old grandson. He loves to read chapter books and Barnes &Noble had a big variety of books for his age. I was doing my Xmas shopping and I was also able to pick up some drawing kits for him as well as some educational toys and games. My grandson loves to go to this store as much as I. We go there when we have free time and spend hours browsing books and having a drink at Starbucks. The staff has always been very kind and helpful by helping u look for specific books. Great place to hang out and be surrounded by so much knowledge at your fingertips.

Barns & Noble is a great bookstore. You can get more than books there. They have educational games, puppets, a childrens area that is really nice and has a stage area for children to play act on or sit quietly and listen to a story be read to them. Or a different presentation. You can pick up a schedule while you are there or they probably have a schedule on their website. Barnes & Noble has every book youd ever want. But if for some chance they dont, they can order it for you. Its a great store. It wont disappoint. There is also a coffee shop in the store . I highly recommend you stop in.

Nice location and very clean store. The way they had the books organized was a bit confusing as I found a bunch of the same book under different sections. Otherwise was disappointed they didnt have a Sex and Sexuality section, whatever they did have on those topics seemed to be mixed in with the Physcology books. I would have asked but there wasnt anyone at their customer service and their front counter was busy. I will visit this location again earlier in the day and see how it goes!

Please never close this store. Its one of the very few bookstores in existence anymore, and we need it in our community. Amazon is fine, but there is nothing quite like going to a bookstore, browsing the shelves, and buying a book to bring home right on the spot. I love Barnes and Noble. Please stay open!

This store has changed but not for the better. The music section has shrunk to a shadow of its former self. The book sections are mostly arranged in U-shaped configurations, forcing you to circle around to where you came in. This makes it much harder to browse from section to section.The childrens and religious offerings have expanded while science and history have been reduced. Do we really need to see an Ayn Rand poster to know what happened here?After the effort to get here, they didnt have what I came for. We need better than this in our community.

A bookstore is not just about price. It is about discovery and community. Yes stuff is cheaper online, but you will not get the discovery of picking up a new book, of sharing one you love with a stranger, of asking a worker whats great for your 12 year old boy, of browsing all the other things besides books. I shop here and order from here because I love it, and because shopping online has closed all the other bookstores. I come here on a Friday for a cannoli and a new book. It is our time. This store is a gem. There are many more things that are more important than the bottom line. That being said, their membership gives you a discount on everything, and their clearance area is deep and wide. Shop here. ;)

I ordered both books from Amazon and received them next day and they cost less than they would have cost at Barnes and Noble. Bigger and with a better selection than many local libraries but also full of new book and cafe aromas, this Barnes and Noble isnt just a great place to buy a book. Its a space where books and readers alike come alive. Im an avid reader and love the fact that there are still physical locations for this chain of bookstores. However, I had to update my review from last year by going from 4 stars to 2 stars because of a verbally aggressive middle-aged Caucasian worker (Ive failed to get her name, so Im describing her) that Ive had the unfortunate experience of dealing with more than once and I really believe that this issue needs to be brought to customers and the stores managements attention. The 1st time, I encountered this woman, she shouted at me while I was walking to the aisle of books I was there to purchase. I hadnt even notice her rearranging an end cap behind me so she startled me when she frustratingly yelled at me some customer service jargon. Due to her aggressive attitude, I barely managed to let her know I knew my way around the store (since I had shopped here often enough) and proceeded to ignore her. The 2nd time was a couple weeks ago when I was purchasing books for my daughter. I had a list of books that I was there to buy but couldnt locate one of them since Im not really familiar with the kids book section. I reluctantly headed to the help desk where an elderly Caucasian couple had just been served and were kindly being sent off. So, I happily asked her if she could help me locate a book. Immediately, her demeanor changed, she looked at me with so much disdain and turned to another young associate and barked at her to help me instead ( I believe she also startled her because of the dazed look she had from her co-workers response). By the way, the young lady who helped me was so kind and helpful to me which is the kind of service I usually get here. By the time I got to the register, I was so shaken up by my 2nd encounter with the mean associate that I complained out loud to my husband about her attitude. The cashier identified her by pointing at and describing her to me and explainedm that she has the habit of taking out her anger towards difficult customers on other customers and coworkers! I dont believe that Barnes and Noble trains their employees to treat repeat paying customers this way. I do not know this woman and she doesnt know me either. So her animosity towards me is confusing to me. Anyways, her behavior shouldnt be excused. Im all for shopping locally but at this point Id rather drive to another store or exclusively shop online then deal with someone who causes me to shop under duress! Its really unfortunate because there are so many friendly and professional employees at this location but the fact that shes being allowed to behave this way towards others is so unprofessional and distasteful. So, buyer beware!

This place looks like it is going out of business. The childrens box set books are taped up, torn on the sides... the children section looks extremely disorganized and thrown together. I could not purchase any box set books because they all looked USED. I complained to a store clerk. Its the only store aside from bed bath and beyond, target and carters still standing. But if it continues like this? Gone by March.

Busy, crowded, no social distancing enforced. If you order ahead for in store pick up you still have to stand in a 20 min line like all the other shoppers. That totally defeats the purpose of the order ahead pick up and does NOTHING to help with avoiding crowds during this pandemic. Every other store has a separate desk or kiosk that will accommodate in store pick ups and help reduce crowds in store. Even smaller businesses than this. Shame!

There arent too many of these around any more, and I feel almost lucky I found this one (Lone Tree Way in Antioch). I like their selection of media, mostly books. Like other B&N stores, they have an in-house (Starbucks) coffee bar, so its easy to pick up a few books and sit at a table to read through and decide whether its worth the purchase.

Was looking for a particular item that I could not locate on the shelf, but that showed as instock online. One of the employees that worked at the help desk looked it up, and stated that they had a bunch if boxes in the back because they were reworkingb that section. I expected that would be leaving empty handed with a try back another time, but instead he went into the back and took the time to locate the item for me. I dont expect the extra effort to me made, but that is why I appreciate it so much.

Barnes and Nobles, Antioch, CA Store is open and mandatory mask is required during uptick of the covid. Not many people hanging out only can hang 30 minutes at most. I saw someone with starbuck drink, not sure if the starbuck counter was being tended to, when i glanced over no one was at counter. The person might have been in the back. This store, I seem to think that if you have a hard time finding something, some one who works there will help you find it, if you ask. I was looking for a particular book for the new cell phone I bought, and just wanted the how to book for a specific phone, but phone is too new I guess, and they did not have it. Its Anyways, they usually just carry the top brand Galaxy manuals, and iPhone or iPad manuals, but for older models. All in all, Im glad the store is open. So sad to see alot of the stores surrounding B&N book store Closed and Gone. I hope B&N hangs in there through these trying times.

We need more brick-and-mortar book stores. I hope that this Barnes & Noble stays here. They have already cut their hours from 11pm to 10pm which is unfortunate, since this is a very good study place for many students in this area. They could try to host more fundraising events and advertising to boost their revenue. Just an idea, but this might make them extend their hours again until later into the night.

My purse (that sometimes triggers sensors) went off and upon that an employee told me I needed to desensitize it which isn’t possible. nothing is in it. Then I was told I can’t shop here because when I leave it will go off ? I have to exit the building anyways. Never shopping here again.

Annoyed as the staff didnt want to wrap my book. Claimed they didnt have regular BN paper just Christmas. Clearly a huge roll behind the counter. Had to wait close to half hour before someone would wrap it after I bought it. Poor service as the store was not busy.

Im an avid bookstore fan. Not so much with chain bookstores because they usually do not carry different books in different stores for an adventure among the titles.I have, though, a great amount of favorite books Ive found only at B&N. I come here for books that I specifically want and using their online store availability is so helpful. Its a hit or miss with smaller bookstores so they have a one up with that.Additionally, they have a pretty good range of vinyl, cds and dvds. At most stores, there are modern vinyls but B&N have some older records on reissued vinyl so I love that I know Im buying old albums on new repressed vinyl since I have higher hope that there wont be a surprise (scratching, skipping, etc.).I usually dont ask for help in B&N becauseIm usually browsing but during checkout their staff is very nice and speedy.Overall, I enjoy this B&N and will be here for a specific book or some new cds, dvds, and records.

I had the time of my life! There is. I thing like a tangible book vs. on line! The atmosphere is low key whispers. Different than your usual library. Everything at your fingertips and all shelved items calling my name for various people.I initially came in to order a exam question and study guide for a Nursing certification in the “OR”. called “CNOR”. Then my eyes were like a kid in the candy store. I never realized how freeing it was to be in this environment that I hope never falls in to a past tense of history.
