Love this store! This location is a decent size, very clean, and extremely peaceful. In the past I’ve been here for over an hour at a time, and no one bothers you. All the employees are warm and welcoming, and if I needed to locate a specific book, they were always happy to help. If you’re in the mood for something to snack on/drink, they do have a mini Starbucks location inside (no indoor seating due to covid). They also have a great puzzle selection if you like puzzles!

Large and fantastic book store with friendly staff, amazing selection of products (not just books), and a small cafe. It has customer service located in the center of the store that helped us find what we are looking for. At the check out, they have tons of gift ideas.

I actually helped open this store, so Ive been a visitor (and was an employee) from the beginning. Things have changed a little bit since then, but its still the magical place it was when we worked so hard to open every box and place the books on their proper shelves in 1997.Music,books, games, toys, a beautiful childrens selection, magazines, AND a Cafe! Really, losing bookstores across the US is truly depressing. I hope B&N manage to pull thru the darker times of online for as long as possible.

Consistently poor service. I’m not sure why, but it seems the employees just work inefficiently. There is always plenty of staff, yet always a bunch standing around as the line gets longer and longer. I have walked out on multiple occasions because of how slow the check out employees are. My advice would be to be more efficient or continue to lose business to online buyers.

Physical bookstores are the best, especially now that theyre more rare. It was great to take the kids into a bookstore to actually touch and read books, although they spent more time in the toy and comic section. This is a great place to spend a few hours reading, enjoying coffee (theres a Starbucks inside), and just enjoying the atmosphere. There is also a good childrens section, toy section, and area that sells stationary. If you like buying books, the Barnes and Noble membership isnt a bad idea. Its $25 a year, and you get 20% off the first purchase then 10% for all purchases afterwards. It works for the cafe too.

Like every other Barnes, this one is well stocked. Perhaps the advantage for this particular location is their modest traffic. The parking situation is easy and it isnt ever crowded with a mob of shoppers like a bookstore thats attached to a major shopping mall might be. Its always clean and organized too, so thats a comfort. :-)

Great bookstore. If they dont have it they will order it for you and you can pick it up in the store or have it shipped directly to your home. They are open late until 10:00pm daily. Sit back and relax with a book or work on your laptop at the in house Starbucks. They have a large comfortable seating area. Enjoy!

Love this bookstore! I spend a couple of hours every time I come. Theres a coffee counter in store where you can grab a chair and hang out checking out your books. We need to keep patronizing our book stores, or we will no longer have them to enjoy! Buying books online is not the same.

Who doesn’t love going to ‘the last standing bookstore’ before they all go away? Always a pleasure going to this bookstore and all the employees are so willing and helpful in assisting you with any questions regarding books of course! Sure you can inquire about life issues and they will point you so a good self help book!I personally can get lost in this or any bookstore for hours at a time! I frequent this location with my kids and the visits serve their purpose. The location itself is fairly convenient.Pros: For a cookie-cutter bookstore, you’ll find what you need: cafe, lots of books, decent kids area.Cons: the (ladies) restroom has this constant smell of sewage. Maybe it’s due to the location itself - but it’s disconcerting.

A regular paperback used to cost about $10-11 a couple years ago and now its hard to find one for less than $20! Ill be sticking to used books but its still fun to browse.

Lovely, peaceful setting! The food from the little Starbucks in the corner is very good and the staff is very nice. There is a large book selection with something for everyone, from the manga to the biographies. They also have other items, such as chocolate, bookmarks, toys, ebooks, etc. Personally, I could stay here for hours.

Most books these days will be 15.00+ USDGenerally a clean and large bathroom.The cafe closes roughly half an hour before store closing.There is the occasional local event which you may find in the music department.Staff is generally knowledgeable enough to get you where you need to be and answer whatever questions about services you may have.Checkout is quick, easy, and painless.This location is pretty popular with the occasional student in PJs and the one or two families looking to kill time between events. Up front you will definitely be greeted with all their newest and popular titles with a central kiosk where staff work to place and index their titles.There is a surprisingly large section for toys, kits, and games for children and family ranging from telescopes and robotics, to Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition, to enough board games to do a local event with.Their manga section ranges from Junk Ito to Chainsaw Man with plenty of the classics between. However as you trudge against the back, the synopses of poorly executed premises begin to show on some sci fi and fantasy novels. I swear if I read about another royal female protagonist who finds her way through politics with a prophetic magical gift I will just commit myself to writing trashy romance novels instead.The place is clean and welcoming. What is there to say? You almost never find the one or two stray homeless like you do in a convenience or grocery store, nor have I seen any trashy displays besides what I read on the sleeve insert.

I called last nite to place 9 books on hold. When I arrived this am, they were ready for pick up in customer service. My client is elderly, so before I paid for her books, I asked if they could get a chair for her to sit down. In less than a minute, she was sitting comfortably while I was in line. Thank you Barnes & Noble! We know with covid there are so many necessary rules, but we appreciate the exception.

Its not a mirage! This book shop is a real Oasis for the techno-slaves because they get to enjoy the universe of books, develop their own conclusions, and discover a myriad of authors with a vast diversity of points of view ... we desperately need tolerance for different points of view now that our society is censoring any person that doesnt hate the conservatives. Theres also a pleasant area for children to enjoy a glimpse of their favorite books, and a coffee shop where to have a yummy bite and relax!

I love the books here! However, all Barnes & Noble bookstores are very expensive. I usually go here to buy a book for my dad because he loves to read. I also like looking at childrens books that I read when I was a kid because I love to be nostalgic. During my childhood, I read a lot of childrens mystery books like Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, and The Boxcar Children. This bookstore has it all! I would also recommend signing up for their membership program. Even though members only get 10% off their entire purchase of books, believe me: getting 10% off is better than getting no discount. While it is more common for me to buy books online for my Kindle, sometimes you just need or want a physical book. In this case, the Kindle price was higher than the hardback. If you need a physical book, there are few choices left other than B&N anymore. Its nice to know that they are still there when you need them. Good selection, reasonable prices, and real books. I am out of the area and trying to buy a book for someone to pick up. I could put it on hold, but the policy seems to not allow me to pay for it.They told me to buy it, it had to be done on line and mailed to my client. I cannot pay for it so they can pick it up.They recommended I buy on line. Why give the business to Amazon??? I asked!They finally made an exception and allowed me to buy a book, and put the book at the Books on hold counter with the receipt in the bag with the book !Management should change such an absurd policy.

I love brick and mortar bookstores. Though they are dying due to the success of online shopping and ebooks, I still think there is a value in holding a book physically in your bands as you read it and turning the pages as you go.Barnes & Noble is a great place to explore thousands of books under many genres for your reading pleasure. Its also a great place to read if you go to the coffee shop inside near the entrance (pro tip: you can pay for your other items at the coffee shop if the main desk is swamped).

I will not be returning to the Aliso Viejo Barnes & Noble ever again. I went tonight to return a puzzle I had purchased as a gift and received multiple lectures from staff in a nasty manner stating that it was past the 14 day return period and therefore I would have to take the discounted online price as a credit to be used in the store only. I had the receipt with me and it had been 16 days since I purchased the item. I did not like their attitude or their policy. There are choices when deciding where to make book or puzzle or toy purchases and I will choose to make my purchases from stores that have more customer friendly policies. Your unfriendly practices will be putting you out of business in short order.

Take my son every Wednesday pre Covid. Best staff ever. Always kind, considerate and helpful. Wow just had the absolute worst experience of my life! To say the least I will never be back!! The manager a Darker Lady Named “Kelly” was as rude as they come and needs to be terminated immediately!! I was waiting for about 10-15 @ the customer service computer and no help at all had showed up after waiting patiently. While I was waiting I saw a computer next to me and figured it was for customers to look up books to see if they had them in stock. After about 5 min. Of searching on computer for a book I was loooking for, I heard a voice behind me saying “oh wow lookings like he can’t read....” coming from a. Manager that’s unexceptionable! I guess their must of been a sign or something that stated customers couldn’t use the computers /: I didn’t see anything, I went on to tell her i apologize & her response back she asked if I was all there or retarded! Then ended up calling the police on me.....at this point I had no clue what I did wrong. My point is me as a customer goes in to look for a book for school and this whole dramatic situation unfolds...Kelly needs to be fired, i’m Going to half to take some legal action. I will never be back!! Looks like AMAZON gained a couple new customers today!!!

This place has been open since I was a little kid. I honestly cannot imagine my life in aliso Viejo without it! This is a very nasty Store of a very nasty Book Chain. They run it like a dungeon, where rules and discipline abound. Staff is very rude.They have obstructed the couple of plugs available, so DON NOT take your Laptop. They incessantly hound you to buy stuff, if you want to sit in the cafe.Another rule, CANNOT eat anything in the cafe if you did not buy from the trashy store menu. not even a personal snack if you happen to be there.All in all, it is all about coercion tactics to make you to spend. I checked my outgoing numbers on my phone bill to validate I am not crazy and guess what? I am not crazy. This is so wrong! and a Waste of a customers time. So sad.
