The last few visits have lowered this from 4 stars to 3.Though the store is well organized and maintained by friendly staff, Ive been unable to find recent releases of some mainstream books a week after release. I also encountered long checkout times that appear to be due to not enough staff.

Love the layout and how high the ceilings are. There’s a large children’s and cooking section here. The business and home & garden section are upstairs. Has a good experience with the cashiers. Staff in the middle could’ve been nicer.

The Starbucks in the Barnes and noble sucks, they got my order wrong twice. I ordered a sugar cookie but they told me they didn’t have any left when they clearly had at least more than 10 of them on display, when I came back to complain they said they thought it was a “sugar cookie” drink which I knew for a fact was an excuse. When I got the cookie it wasn’t even the cookie I ordered, I looked back and the label was in the wrong place. I wanted the cookie with small but a lot of chocolate chips than the normal one.

After a long hectic day, this is a great place to kick back and relax in a friendly environment surrounded by all categories of great reads. There are places to sit and go through the selections so you can be sure the titles chosen are the ones you want. Its comforting to actually sit and turn pages (the old-fashioned way) as you make your way through an adventure, either fact or fiction. Perhaps a trip through the culinary selections of the world is your fancy or a different craft for you to choose. Anyway, its a great place to visit and plan your escape into the world of words.

I have been a long term fan of the Barnes & Noble Franchise since 2005. This location I discovered during Christmas 🎄☃️ 2021. I decided to make a return visit here. .in January 2022. This store has two levels.. Its a great location for parents, children,book hunting and just to relax ..sip a warm cup 🍵 tea, ☕ coffee..what have you. There also is a Starbucks ✨ mini cafe.. Its always busy...!! This location has a childrens section,magazines..an assortment of 📚 books, Games (upstairs).. 📀 DVD, CD 📀,..you remember those 👍 right..?! The employees are very 🙂👍👍 nice .. There is a escalator or elevator to use..to access the second floor.. The store 🏬 is very clean... Many displays... Today I popped in for a mental break... (I love books 📚..!!) While I was sipping my beverage I overheard a conversation between an employee and a customer.. Discussing the fact that people dont buy magazines or books much anymore these days ??!.. Talk about a shock to my ears . ! Come on friends..please support your local BOOKSTORES.‼️ Writers depend on the public to make a living and people who dont read books... Well,..smh 🤔. Overall I like this store.. parking 🅿️ is convenient .. Stop by for a time out.. 👋

I felt like most of the upstairs was taken up with games and stuff but I think thats just my take on it. The cashier was extremely friendly and answered whatever questions I had and made reviews. I wish the horror section was bigger but not bad. Found the books my son recommended.

One of our few remaining bookstores and one of my favorite places in Thousand Oaks. Huge selection (you can see by the size of the store), great availability of bestsellers. I also love the inside coffee shop. The wooden chairs are comfortable for perusing as you decide what to buy. One of the best stores in the Promenade Mall.

We love Barnes and Nobles. Always a great spot to meet with friends, family or even alone time. Coffee shop is NOT Starbucks but does serve Starbucks coffee. Make note of this as the coffee attendants are annoyed with the multiple questions about Starbucks points and app usage. Aside from their slight attitude, the store is always great and so many great seating spots!

Gotta say, the environment here was very cool... a modern style of a cool, retro concept. Brick-and-mortar has become outdated, but Barnes & Noble did a great job constructing this store and its vibe. Also, the staff were super helpful, even though the book we were looking for wasnt yet available.Parking can be a burden, given that this location is in a mall thats has high traffic... especially during the holidays.

Store was gigantic! My only issue that they must have moved the section signs around recently, because the titles didnt match the section. Because of that some areas were hard to find, and some not even labeled, and even some covered in dust. Also, very long line to checkout (but I dont mind that, its great to see bookstores doing well.

The store is large, quiet, and comfortable. I can pick up a book and read it while having a sandwich and a cup of coffee.The store has changed a bit since the Pandemic. Its still the same size and it still has the same overall layout. But the kinds of things they sell are different. The music section is gone! But they have added more rewards for B&N members. I appreciate this because I have been a member for years & years (probably 20 years, at least).Its always a pleasure to come here. I will continue to visit.

The philosophy section is almost as sparse as my local library. Nonetheless, there are mountains of useless texts here, so much so they have an elevator to reach them all! There is a pretty good selection of hardcover classics, though, so all is not lost.

BN order my book since they were out of stock. I didn’t realize my address had been entered wrong until after checking out. The general manager was not friendly towards me, she even walked away from me to go to another register… the entire interaction was very bizarre. She acted as if I was a huge inconvenience, terrible customer service especially coming from a general manager.

I really love this Barnes and Noble!! First off, just the feel of a physical bookstore is wonderful, but more than that, this place is more of a community gathering place than just a retail store. Kids study and friends catch up in the cafe, every Saturday night there is a live band outside by the fountain, and upstairs youll see young and old alike dig into history or sociology or fiction or fantasy books, and its inspiring to watch people still reading.Only complaint is that they have no book look up machine, so you have to use your phone or bother a worker.4.7 out of 5

Since we became slaves of our devices, we forgot how interesting and fun it is to walk between aisles of books, or sit at the stores cafeteria and glance through magazines.The kids section is amazing and the employees are very nice and courteous. My daughter loves this place, and the surrounding promenade is great to let her run some energy off. This is a great Barnes & Noble location. It was quite busy when I went, although it was the day after black friday. Staff was very knowledgeable and willing to help me find what I was looking for. I got an excellent signed copy of a book I happened to discover here. Its wonderful to still have book stores like this open when all the libraries are closed.

If you use a wheelchair or other mobility aids, you won’t be able to access half the store because they only have escalators and a single broken elevator. When I asked if there was another elevator or a way for disabled customers to get upstairs, I was told they’ve had a work order to fix the elevator in for awhile along with a *shrug* when I pointed out that it was therefore inaccessible.

One of the few remaining book stores in the area and oh my gosh is it a great book store. They have a coffee shop attached so you can grab some coffee and take a look at books and even sit down and read for a little bit to make sure you would like the book before buying it. I didnt talk to the staff much but when I did they seemed friendly and outgoing. because its a brick-and-mortar store its obviously going to be a little bit more expensive but there is nothing better than going to a bookstore and just looking around and enjoying the ambience. So if thats up your alley I highly recommend stopping by and grabbing a book and a coffee.

One negative is not enough seating throughout the location or even upstairs. They do have some chairs upstairs but no tables and the cafe hardly has any access to outlets. The Barnes&Noble in Thousand Oaks is top notch. I am so glad that places like this still exist. I lament the day when places like this crease to exist. I hope that doesnt happen. To be able to check out a large collection of contemporary books is so much different than going to your local library where you are reliant on what has been donated.

This rating is for the cafe. Today I waited in line for a good 15-20 minutes before it was my time to order. I ordered 2 white Mac n cheese large size along with a large milk and green iced tea. I received everything but one order of Mac n cheese. The cashier only range me up for one. So, I had to wait again for another 15-20 minutes in line to re order the second Mac n cheese. Just two days ago the cashier didnt take my order correctly either. Barnes and Noble needs to hire people in the cafe who are active listeners. They need to have more then two people working in the cafe. The wait in line is always to long.

Not a bad bookstore at all. In terms of the structure, there is an indoors Starbucks incorporated into building. The entire back of the store is dedicated to childrens books, with other more advanced books sectioned in front and upstairs up the escalator. While there is a decent selection of books for the size of the building, I do think there is a lack of more traditional, classic books. However, it is a bookstore and not a library or antiques shop so its expectable to find plenty of new, recent books.There is a new, sizable manga section on ground floor, near the café.

From the moment I was immediately assisted by customer service (who actually walked me directly to mmt, which was fantastic), until I was checked out by Dave. Dave was one swift, slick, sly, and fantastically spoken person. He had a charismatic spirit who ALMOST persuaded me to buy Godiva chocolates against my better will. Looking for a CD and could not find it, except at B&N. It was waiting in the front checkout. My companion was looking for collectables and found out they were on sale. He went to get one in another area of store. They took care of customers in line, but when my companion came back they checked us out and were quite courteous and explained to the two persons waiting in line. They were also the informants on the sale on the items my companion was purchasing, so he got a good deal on his purchase.

I love this store. I dont particularly understand the need for the café. I go there to browse and buy books, etc., not eat and drink. But thats hardly a criticism. I wish the lines werent so long at times and that the reference/desk was better staffed (i.e., more people). I bought a Nook (after having a Kindle) and I love it. And I got help at the store when I needed it. Id buy another one in a heartbeat. Their staff genuinely seems happy to work there. And for better or worse, that always shows.

Good collection of books. They have a cafe in the inside that serves starbucks. It is also a good place for students to sit down and work on assignments together. The tables are limited though especially with outlets.

The manager (James) at this Barnes and Noble is a racist person and forced me of the store just because I was sitting on chair that was already there in an aisle. He ordered me to move that chair because I was blocking the business. When I told him that this is not my business he told me to leave the store. He was extremely rude. Dont buy a Nook. You cannot get support for it. There is never enough help in the store. They make excuses all the time. The one star is for those who help when you just want to buy a book. Youll have to wait for that help, but they will provide it if you wait long enough.
