From the moment he arrived, Marcus was on time, courteous, and eager to answer all of my questions. Technician, Dave, came to our home to fix AC system that had no air flow to the vents. Another company came twice without solving the problem. Dave followed a logical path to isolate the problem and then fix it. All the time he was communicative so that I followed his logical approach to identifying and then correcting the problem, and at a reasonable cost.I highly recommend Barker Heating & Cooling and will use them for all our HVAC needs.

My parents recently just got their water heater and heating system fixed by this company and all I can say is how great they were. My parents don’t speak English very well, especially my mom so it was so wonderful to hear how kindly and professionally they treated her during the service. They made sure to answer any questions she had and took great care in their work. I 100% recommend their services if you ever need anything fixed or upkeep, they’re very nice and professional in doing business.

Hector and Anthony were very professional and seemed quite knowledgeable with the install of my new AC unit. They discovered that my ecobee smart thermostat wasn’t able to turn on the AC, so they removed it and installed a different type enabling the air to turn on. They weren’t going to leave me not having it working . We have an issue with our thermostat, the thermostat was not turning on and not turning on the hvac unit. We have been having this issue for close to 6 months now and I have tried 2 different companies, without any resolution. Then I called barker, and Steve came as a technician. He is extremely knowledgeable and figured out the issue, which was just a wiring problem. He fixed it within an hour and now everything is back up and running. Amazing service, highly recommended.

Dave was friendly and arrived right on time. He even called me while en route to check whether I had new furnace filters on hand, offering to pick some up along the way if I didnt. Chris, Sean, Eileen, and Hector helped us replace our new unit with a higher rated efficiency system. It was a big project, but they got our unit installed in one day. We again highly recommend Barker Heating & Cooling. We had to completely replace our existing air conditioning unit and heater along with asbestos removal and new ducting over the summer. It was a big job and Barker gave us a fair price and a great deal of attention. Minor adjustment needed a few months later when using our heater for the first time and Barker came out free of charge and fixed the issue within minutes. Everyone in the office and everyone who came to our home was responsive, knowledgeable, and professional. Definitely recommend!

Justin and his colleague Jeremy did a detailed assessment of the issues with my 23-year-old furnace. They offered a fair price for repairs to get the unit working again. And also quickly put together a bid for replacement options at three levels. The good and better options had good prices. The best option included some nice extras, an attic fan and more insulation to keep my house cooler without adding air-conditioning. I wanted the best option but couldn’t quite afford it and they were able to work out of good enough discount for me to be able to pull the trigger on what I really wanted. I felt really good about their service. Especially since a competitor had come out earlier and not done a good job of diagnosis and couldn’t figure out how to repair my system.Justin and Jeremy were a good team, obviously knowledgeable, and they worked well together. They offered me lots of detail about my system, how everything would work with the new installation, and what it would mean for my future heating cost. Very thorough.

DO NOT USE Barker Heating and Cooling (would give zero stars if I could)!!!We first used Barker when we had a minor condensation leak on our furnace exhaust pipe last winter. We signed up for their BFF program to get 2x/year routine maintenance. They came for the summer maintenance and told us we needed a new capacitor and added freon. Cost us $1,400. We had no issue with our AC prior to Barker performing this service.On our first 100+ degree day this year after Barker was here, our AC stopped working. We called Barker to have them come back out, had to wait ~4 days through 100+ degree heat for them to have time. And then they cancelled our appointment (they told us the techs car broke down, but something about this did not ring true).So we called another company (Millers Air Conditioning & Heating in Livermore) - see separate review about them (also do not use them!). Millers fixed the issue on two separate visits, only to have it fail on the first high 90+ degree day after they were out.Then we called a third company (Richards Heating & Air Repair) - see separate review about them (highly recommended them!). They diagnosed the problem - our freon had been overfilled - and weve had no issue since Richards removed (a lot) of freon.So we paid Barker $1,400 to essentially break our system!!! Complete scam from what we know now.Also, Barker did not do 50% of what they are supposed to do on these summer BFF maintenance calls (did not clean out debris, the technician did not even come inside to inspect the 2 other components of the system - he just serviced the condenser/outside unit). When we switched to Millers I called Barker to tell them about our experience and requested a refund for the last of BFF service (which they had only partially performed, at that time we did not know about the overcharged freon issue). They promised to call me back - never heard from them.

First time I used them I had Tobias. He told me that the very expensive recommendations from another company were not necessary and gave me a more reasonable fix for my AC. Second time, my heater stopped working. I knew it just needed its annual maintenance - 45 mins tops. I know my furnace. Being a woman you HAVE to know your house so these workmen dont try to snake you. Tobias was not available. Stephanie came. I was excited about working with a woman, but despite me TELLING her what I knew about the unit, she dilly dallied for 2 1/2 hrs (!!!), dramatically acting like this was such a tough issue to figure out, taking calls with her boss (outside, of course), and finally coming in to dramatically say there are tubes or wiring that need replacing....and she cant show me bc theyre way in the back... and the fix was going to be thousands. Bologna. I asked several times if basic maintenance was done. She said yes. I played along with her lies...she thought she was going to land a BIG sucker until I declined scheduling the repairs and said Ill use a space heater until I can get a 2nd opinion. She looked defeated. I called someone else. They did the maintenance. Boom...unit was working and had ZERO issues since. I was disgusted this happened woman to woman -- and they charged me for this ridiculousness. I did not ask for a refund. I did not write a bad review. Because of TOBIAS, I even gave them a shot at a quote for a new system, which I will need eventually. However, third time....grrrr. I just wanted basic annual AC maintenance. Called on a Mon; It took 3 DAYS to get a call back. Tobias no longer works for them. I told them about my experience with Stephanie. They assured me Dave and Chris were their best, but they couldnt come until NEXT Mon - a week after my call? With hesitation, I said ok. The fact that they could not tell me at least morning or afternoon shouldve been my red flag to bolt. I expressed that I could not do morning this day and was promised I would get a better time frame closer to the date. Its hard to believe that on Fri - Sun you dont know your Mon schedule to tell customers more than just Wait around all day for us. People work!!! All I got was on Sunday your tech or someone will call you tomorrow morning. Sure enough, as most families are trying to get out the door in the a.m., they called and said they were coming...and it was a guy named Jessie, not Dave or Chris. I told Jessie that I told the scheduler no to the morning. Then, a new scheduler calls me and now wants to bump me to Thurs. NOPE. We are DONE. I have taken more time out of the office to accommodate YOU than I shouldve ever had to.

I called Barker Heating & Cooling and they put me on the schedule for first thing Monday morning for a callback to schedule an onsite contact.I received a call early Monday and they added me to their schedule that same day. Barker Heating followed up with a text listing my technician’s photo,name (Tajinder) and message stating he will contact me directly. Tajinder texted me with a time-frame and arrived on-time, as promised. He was beyond friendly and helpful. He listened to my concerns/issues and troubleshooted my system.He completed his diagnosis and ordered the needed part(s). When the ordered part(s) came in, he returned as promised and finished the necessary repairs. He advised me what to keep an eye on and assured me Barker Heating & Cooling will respond to any future issues that come up.

I called Barker when my a/c unit stopped working. Oscar debugged the issue and found the capacitor and starter kit were damaged. He was very thorough in the analysis and showed me the damaged parts. The quote for replacing these parts was very reasonable. He quickly completed the work and did thorough testing to ensure the system was working well. I bought a Coleman HVAC system (furnace and AC etc) in Aug. 2021 via Barker and installed by them. This part was okay, with minor delays, not big deal. I was told that the Coleman system was covered under warranty for a few years (like 5 or 10, I forgot, and I dont care anymore, see below). But the warranty requires like 2 annual maintenances, which cost a lot of money paying to Barker.In July, when I wanted to turn on my system, it did not work. I called Barker and they came and their diagnosis was that the AC condenser fan motor failed. The fan motor would be covered under warranty, however the labor changing the fan motor was not and cost was $1,183. This is outrage for changing a motor. I of course declined. I then contacted Coleman HVAC. It was terrible, they dont have a phone number to call and my multiple emails were never answered. So I had to buy a fan motor and motor controller online. It was not expensive, around $300.So my conclusion: 1. Coleman HVAC division sucks. Broken in less than 2 years. Mostly you cannot reach them if you want. 2. Barker uses warranty as a bait for maintenance work and repairs and charges outrageous amount for the simplest repair (fixing the motor was really easy, I guess it took less than one hour). So dont use Barker and dont buy Coleman HVAC.

Mr. Tobias Taylor is very professional. I have an issue that the I-Wave are not running when the heating or cooling are running. Tobias came and diagnosed the issue. Apparently the wiring is correct according to I-Wave installation manual. He searched-on-line for Carrier furnace manual as well as wireless thermostat manual. He also called other experts and didnt get a solution except the idea of Line Wired which I dont like since it would waste a lot of energy. In Jul/2023 this company sent a technician to my home to do the regular PM on my A/C. I pay $20/month for this service. The last guy who visited my home said my unit needs a coolant. I asked him how much will this cost? He said 13 24. To me, it sounded like $13.24 so I said go ahead. Then after he was done, he pulled his tablet and obtained my signatures on 3 pages. I never saw the dollar amount until $1,324 showed up on my credit card. The same guy called me that day and said I was actually overcharged for $297. He said hell tell their accounting department to give me credit. The credit never came through, and even for $1,000, this was a rip-off. This company doesnt care about its clients when the clients get overcharged. I have made 20 phone calls to get my $297 refund. Usually you get someone whos just working for the answering service. If youre lucky to get one of their staff (who feels sorry for the situation you are in) she cant do anything for you either. On my last call they said they have put the check in the mail 2 weeks ago. The check never arrived. I called back again today and was told someone name Danny, who runs that inept operations, will hand deliver me the check. When I asked when? The answering lady didnt know again. She said he will call you. He never does, nor gives a damn about the problems they create. Be aware of this company. I have reported them to BBB, and Im cancelling my subscription. I will put a hold on this merchant if they every attempt to charge me again!

Hostile speeder employee on 680-S. This company needs to be stricter on who drives their vehicles, I don’t mind sharing my dash cam video and the company’s license plate number to y’all. It’s the end of the month and there are plenty of cops looking for speeders, my bad for not going 80-90 mph for you! My first call was for a service check. But before a representative arrived my system quit. The first technician could not fix and struggled. It took Barker sending there best technician to find root cause. With parts and scheduling it took 5 days to correct problem. Barker did not change me for anything! The installation was excellent and completed quicker than expected. I had a wonderful experience today with Nathan at Barker. Our furnace needed some preventative maintenance. Nathan explained The process as he worked, since I was curious as this was our first service call for the furnace. He did not try to upsell me on products that I did not need, was very honest about potential problems that might creep up in the future, and did a great job inspecting not only the furnace, but taking a quick look at the condenser and our water heater. I know more about the process than I did before this visit. As a bonus, Nathan likes animals and definitely made a friend with our kitten who was very curious about what was going on today. He was very professional, and I sincerely hope he is the technician to visit us again next season to do the annual maintenance of our air conditioner.

Generally, I am satisfied. My install seemed to challenge them and they had to re-schedule a visit; and that ended up taking two additional weeks. Part of the that was my fault because I didnt hear them at the door on the return appointment and they left -- so I had to reschedule them (the second weeks wait). But the finished result seems nice. I think it would be nice if they would create a priority service queue. If an installation starts and they have to schedule another visit to complete the job, you should be put on a priority queue, not wait a week (or two) -- more like a day (or two). On the plus side, I didnt pay anything until the job was done and it appears to be a nice job.

Love Barker! They installed a new air conditioner and furnace last year. We called them again to come out and do a yearly check. Tyler called to let me know when he was almost here and he arrived on time. He was very friendly, wore a mask and had booties so he didnt bring any dirt or anything into my house. He sat with me for a few minutes afterwards to explain how everything was working ~ everything was working great! He also made sure he had answered all my questions before he left. They installed our new heating a/c unit today. They arrived promptly and it took from around 9:30a to around 4pm to install the new system. They did a great job and were nice guys. The only negative thing I have to say is after they left my young daughter found a screw on the floor left behind and the cabinet the unit is in was not vacuumed out.

It has been a struggle working with Barker. Initially had a service tech come out, he was very friendly, because my heater wasnt igniting, and they said the system was old and should be replaced. I agreed, and they came back a few days later and did a full install of new heater and AC. Everything seemed good, except they brought one wrong part and had to come back the next day to replace it. A few months later, I turn on the AC for the first time when it is hot, and the system starts humming... loudly. It resonates the whole house. So I call them back, leave a message with the receptionist to get a call back, and no call back. I try again, same thing, leave a message with a person, told I will receive a call back, no call back. The third time I call, I dont let them just take a message. I get through, they set me up with an appointment, and a tech comes out later that week.Different tech comes out this time, again friendly tech, and he says the air return is way too small and the original install team should never have left it like this. He assures me I will receive a call to set up a follow up install. I never get that call. I call back, leave a message with the receptionist, never get a call back. Call again a few days later and again insist on talking with somebody. I schedule an appointment for a Tuesday between 8 and 10am. I take the day off from work, call them at 10 am because nobody is there yet, and they said somebody called out sick and they will come between 1 and 3. Wait around, and I get a call at 3 that they wont be able to make it that day. A voice my frustration, as they knew at 7 am that morning they would never make it to me that day.I reschedule for a Saturday, they come to do the work, and again they bring the wrong part, so they have to come back again the next day.One more thing: I noticed a $20 credit charge a month after getting the system, I assumed it was for a permit that still needed to get done, so I ignored it. Next month, another charge. I tried calling (as part of my other call), and wasnt able to talk to somebody until a third $20 charge came through. I asked about it, they said it was for their BFF program, which I distinctly remember not signing up for, as $20 a month to maintain a brand new system is ridiculous. Shouldnt a company guarantee that their brand new system should work without having to pay additional? Anyway, they said they would reverse the charges, but they only reversed 1 of the charges. Really, only 1, I dont know if it is even worth trying to fight them any more.This company screws up over and over again. I would not recommend them to anybody

Got offer to do free inspection of my HVAC during St Patrick’s Day festival in Dublin and they immediately called to setup the appointment. Justin helped us with going over every detail during the inspection and recommended to go for repair / replace as the system is pretty old and not performing at it’s capacity.
