We took our two very young kids here and couldn’t have had a better time! The grounds were stunning, staff was attentive and helpful and cabins were clean and well stocked. The kids had lots of fun touring the rescue animal farm, making s’mores for the first time, playing on the playground and playing in the game room. Thank you for all the special memories, we hope to be back soon!

We originally booked two nights at Bandy Canyon Ranch at the end of April, and we finally decided to extend one more night because of the amazing and unforgettable staying experience!!!This gated place located in a valley is like a big garden which makes your walk here so relaxing and enjoyable. Your cell phone is no longer for making phone calls, checking emails and playing games when you stay here. Taking photos is the only phone function you will need (yes, we did took a lot of photos because we were surprised to see plenty of cool plants that we wouldn’t be able to name them). You can easily tell from lots of details how hard the ranch staff is working to maintain this beautiful place.Sitting in front of our cottage, I heard birds singing, wind whistling, and our dog snoring (your puppy friend will love this place). And my nose was surrounded by the smell of trees, grasses and flowers. I just sat there for a few hours without doing anything and thinking anything. Time flied even slower when passing by, because it also wanted to take a nap at this quiet place.Planning to visit San Diego Zoo Safari Parks? Don’t worry about getting on highway and meeting traffic jam, since it takes only 10 minutes from the Ranch to the Safari Park by local route.The Ranch doesn’t serve lunch and dinner so far. You can either do food delivery or drive out to eat. I cannot imagine how fantastic it will be when they are ready to prepare something like prime rib, home-made pizza or double cheeseburger with bacon for their guests. Even though their restaurant is not open yet, they do offer guests a complimentary breakfast basket with lots of good-quality stuff inside it. Personally I think having this basket is better than having the regular hotel breakfast, since you don’t need to go out your room, taking the elevator to the lobby, and waiting for the staff assigning you a seat. When you open your eyes in the morning in your cottage, just sit by the window and have a slice of bread, a cup of milk, a bowl of yogurt and a fresh orange. A great start of the day, isn’t it?If there is anything that the Ranch needs to improve, I will say the shower head is a little bit too old to function very well. And I am not quite sure if the tap water is drinkable, maybe it is but we just didn’t know it? I don’t want to mislead other guests. Anyway, these tiny things wouldn’t affect our entire amazing staying experience at all.I will definitely recommend this place to everybody around me. No matter you travel by yourself or with your family, Bandy Canyon Ranch must be the right place to get rid of noise, chaos, and annoyance.We didn’t travel too much since Covid happened. This trip really brought us back to the time when the word Covid hasn’t appeared.Thank You Bandy Canyon Ranch!

I stayed here with my family for one night. It was a lovely experience. We were welcomed with a food basket of yummy food, the room was clean, the property was beautiful.My only issue is the phone in our room did not work, we had no cell service so getting a hold of someone was difficult.

This is honestly a little hidden gem. Very quiet. Very relaxing. Great place to relax and get some calm. There is a sanctuary on the property as well. Non-profit. Adorable animals to see. Highly recommend

Such a wonderful place for a family to vacation! So close to the Wild Animal Park. Once we checked into Bandy Canyon, there was plenty to do! The pool is not heated but because it was so hot when we came, it didnt bother us. Loved the beauty of all the landscaping - it feels like paradise! Our kiddos had a lot of fun in the main cabin where there was a projector screen and games. We loved visiting with the animals. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly!

I had my wedding at Bandy Canyon Ranch 11/4/23, and we had all of our immediate family and wedding party stay in the cabins. We got to enjoy the ranch for the entire weekend, and it felt like a glamorous, relaxing summer camp.Emma Morrison was beyond phenomenal to work with in the many months leading up to the wedding and over the weekend. She is kind, funny, and incredibly caring. She truly wanted us (and our family and friends) to have the perfect wedding. If there were any hiccups, she was quick to give some suggestions EVEN when it had nothing to do with the ranch!While we dealt mostly with Emma, I still have to sing the praises of everyone who works at the ranch. Heading into the wedding weekend, we expected that there would be things that went wrong or didnt turn out exactly how we planned. However, the weekend exceeded our wildest dreams. The staff was so incredibly kind and accommodating. If there was anything we needed, they not only appeared within minutes but they often went above and beyond our request. If I didnt know better, I would say there were magical fairies working throughout the weekend to make sure everything ran smoothly. Every single one of my family members and guests could not stop raving about how the ranch and just how uniquely beautiful and special it is.Im tearing up writing this review because everyone at Bandy Canyon Ranch gave me the most magical weekend of my life, and my new husband and I cant thank them enough.

I had the pleasure of spending a couple of nights here and it was perfection. Beautiful rustic surroundings, updated cabins. It was the perfect setting for my friend and I to work quietly on creative projects. We enjoyed time by the pool and starlight strolls in the evening. This is the perfect place for a romantic staycation, fun weekend with friends, or to find inspiration. We’re looking forward to our next visit!

The place is amazing, it is like an Oasis, there are fields that surround this place that you dont expect you are in the right place. The ranch is so green, the cabin so cozy, the kitchen is too small and when I said small for a family of six. They used to serve continental breakfast but this time were given a basket with a 16oz milk and 16oz OJ, A couple of breads, 4 eggs, 2 apples, 2 bananas and JJ. Enough for our morning breakfast, Apparently. We wake up with no staff, no breakfast and no one at the office.Our room had no curtains on 2 of the rooms and at night everyone could see inside.They have a pool area, they have plenty of grills around the ranch, considering there are no stoves inside the cabin and there is no restaurant 12 miles around this place. So be prepared when you visit. They give 2 x 24oz water bottles. Here everything is nice, until you need something. But overall the place is nice, quiet, we had a bad experience with people drinking and smoking the first night. Taking into consideration that it was a monday. Dont mean to ruin your vacations but come ready. Since nothing is closed by.

I have stayed at this cute place with my fiancé. The first time we found this place we had a wonderful time and it was when we first started dating. The vibe of the outdoor feel and rustic decor with succulent gardens and metal art felt we always thought would be perfect for our wedding someday.A few years past and we got engaged and were wanting to revisit the idea of using this venue for our special day, not only for the wedding but also for accommodations for all of our guests. I had filled out a request for information but never received a call or email back. We called since we would be in town the next day to see if it would be at all possible to visit the grounds or speak to someone on sight about making this vision come true. Unfortunately we were only able to talk to the security when we called. We took a shot at visiting the grounds the following day or even getting some more information since we were in the area. Once on the grounds we were NOT WELCOME, it was apparent we were not wanted or welcome at this location and clearly they are very uninterested in helping provide information or even hosting our wedding or our guests. I was shocked at how rudely we were treated. We left promptly as we felt the wedding or event coordinator was so unhappy we came at all I could not imagine trying to book here.We will be renting out a different venue and accommodations else where for our 100 guests. So disappointed in this outcome as we thought this would have been a great place. The grounds are beautiful but the customer service was horrible.

The Ranch was beautiful and tranquil. We all loved and enjoyed it a lot. We loved that we could bring our own food and bbq! The kids absolutely loved meeting the animals and feeding them.A couple of things just to be aware of. The pool is freezing so unfortunately we ( adults) could not use, the kids still jumped in for a little at the height of sunlight only. Also our cabin faced the main entrance/ courtyard and the string lights are on all night so the bedroom never gets dark this is the one thing I really wish they would find a solution for( like blackout drapes just in the bedroom) .

San Diegos best kept secret indeed! The minute you drive through the gate you are transported to a vacation mindset. The grounds are stunning and impeccably groomed, the staff are incredible in their attentiveness to detail and their heartfelt welcome, and the room (The Sparrow) is perfection in a small space! If you love nature, simple pleasures, and quite/peaceful surroundings - then you will love staying at Bandy Canyon Ranch! Cannot say enough about this delightful gem. We will be back!

The Ranch at Bandy Canyon is truly San Diego’s best hidden gem. Surrounded by mountains of nature, the ranch is both magical and cozy. There are cottages spread across the property that truly made it feel like a home away from home. I’m the morning, you can hear birds singing in the trees. There’s a courtyard playground for kiddos, games, pool with cabanas, and a bonfire! We discovered a water stream along the property’s gorgeous nature hike. Each cottage is curated with supplies for the kitchen, and the cutest complimentary breakfast basket. My kids enjoyed the farm tour, where they fed horses, goats, pigs, and donkeys!Aside from the gorgeous views and activities, the staff at Bandy Canyon went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. In the dark, pouring rain, they brought us wine and a charcuterie board!Bandy Canyon is a perfect getaway for you and your family. They also do wedding ceremonies and receptions!5 stars across the board!

The Bandy Canyon, while beautiful at first sight was one of the worse places we’ve stayed at. My partner and I went, to support one of my best friends getting married. Multiple rooms were purchased for the wedding party (bridesmaids and groomsmen). The idea was for all of us to be together to help the bride and groom get married that weekend.While there were many issues by far the worse was the electrical fire in the parking lot and the water outage; both on the wedding day. We understand that things happen, but there was absolutely no communication from the staff to ANYONE concerning both incidents. A water outage means you can’t use the shower but also the toilet ! We had no idea when it would be back and had started brainstorming where we would be staying the night since there was no way we could stay there. One of us had her baby with her and needed water to mix her formula!Other minor incidents included the service that we received. The front desk staff seemed to know little about their own facilities. Told multiple people different things concerning the schedule for the fireplace. Misinformation about their petting zoo and didn’t provide the full service that some of had paid for including their wine package. The check-out process was confusing and included texting a number that no one responded to.All in all, the bride and groom have tried to contact Bandy Canyon and have received no response. If that doesn’t say, “don’t stay here,” I don’t know what does.

My stay at Bandy Canyon was such a relaxing and well needed stay. As someone who has worked in the service industry for 7 years, I am sometimes a tough critic when it comes to the service and I am being given, and my stay at the ranch was ABSOLUTELY hands down THE MOST accommodating and pleasant stay of my life. I had my eyes set on this place for a while and decided to finally book my stay and I was not disappointed in the slightest.Despite what some of the previous reviews may have said, my experience was nothing close to that. I felt as though everything was made and communicated very clear about my stay prior to my arrival. I, of course, also did my own research before booking and arriving.The staff was AMAZING. Kate and Emma made it their mission to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of during my stay. Debbie and Denise were the sweetest as well! I can’t say enough good things. I truly don’t know if I will come across such good service like that again.One thing to keep in mind is that although they are currently renovating and planning to open a restaurant on the site soon, the staff was very helpful in suggesting places for me to eat and even making me aware of doordash and other food delivery places that can be sent to the ranch. They even provide complimentary breakfast baskets, depending on how many nights you stay, and it was one of my favorite highlights of my stay. The basket had goodies from Trader Joe’s, which I shop religiously from. (They mustve known I was coming). There are also local wineries close by, no more than 10-15 minutes away, and it was an easy drive. I had the most absolute best fettuccini I ever had in my life from the winery. And I can’t over exaggerate it. When I wasn’t snacking on my free breakfast basket or the delicious food from the winery, I ordered a charcuterie board from the front desk to be delivered to my cabin. They made it so good I had ordered it TWICE. (And they were both all for me).I even got s’mores to make to sit by the beautiful fire pit and have a nice small chat with the others guests at the ranch. I got myself two bottles of the Ranch’s own brand of wine which is displayed at their front desk, along with some incense and all the other cute goodies that they have. I made sure I took a bottle home to keep in my wine cabinet to remember my stay.I enjoyed my time at their GORGEOUS pool surrounded by the greenery and luxurious pool furniture, and was able to have it all to myself. One thing I did make a mental note of was they have water out for guests to drink after taking a dip or just sunbathing. Little things like that, 11/10.Overall, everything was absolutely AMAZING. From the staff, accommodations, great views, gorgeous drive to the location, and the comfortability of my cute room. I was sooooo sad to be leaving and I will definitely be coming back. I will not stop telling people to book their stay here and have already convinced others to do so.

I recently had the misfortune of staying at Bandy Canyon, and the experience was nothing short of a nightmare. If youre considering this place for any occasion, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. Heres a glimpse into the horror that unfolded during my time there:The water supply was a complete disaster. Imagine trying to get ready for a wedding, only to find out that the water had mysteriously gone out. We were left scrambling and unable to properly prepare for the big event. This lack of basic amenities is simply unacceptable. There was no communication from the staff about the water outage. We had no idea when or if the water would return.Communication? What communication? The site team seemed to have mastered the art of silence. Despite the water issue and the chaos that ensued, there was absolutely zero communication from them. Its as if they were determined to pretend that everything was fine, while guests were left to suffer the consequences of their negligence.The staff at Bandy Canyon were a complete letdown. Unprofessional doesnt even begin to describe their behavior. Instead of providing assistance or support, they chose to berate the bride because her guests arrived before the designated check-in time. The audacity and lack of basic decency displayed by the staff were utterly appalling.Brace yourself for encounters with the guards from hell. These individuals were not only rude but also pushy beyond belief. Every single time we tried to enter the premises, they demanded to know which company we were from. This unnecessary interrogation created an atmosphere of hostility and unwelcome vibes. Its astonishing that a place supposedly focused on hospitality could have guards who excel at making guests feel like intruders.The cherry on top of this disastrous experience was the breakfast boxes. Imagine being handed a supposedly thoughtful gesture, only to discover that some of the breads included were moldy. Its a testament to the utter lack of attention to detail and basic hygiene standards maintained by Bandy Canyon. This gross oversight reflects their overall incompetence and disregard for the well-being of their guests.In summary, I cannot stress enough how strongly I discourage anyone from staying at Bandy Canyon. From the water outage and lack of communication to the unprofessional staff, rude guards, moldy breakfast, and nonexistent checkout assistance, this place epitomizes incompetence and a complete disregard for customer satisfaction. Spare yourself the agony and disappointment by seeking out a venue that actually values its guests and takes pride in providing a positive experience. Bandy Canyon is undoubtedly a place to avoid at all costs.

The stay at Bandy Canyon is a missed opportunity for good memories. My husband and I rented out 9 cabins for our wedding party (21 guests) and bought 7 day passes for other guests.Treatment of our wedding party members by staff was unwelcoming and made them feel like intruders rather than valued guests. No one was allowed on the property to enjoy the ranch on the day of check in until their cabin was ready. This left guests who traveled to drive around the mountains.Communication during a water outage was unacceptable. It took an long amount of time for us to receive any information regarding the situation, leaving us uncertain and frustrated. Even after the initial notification, there was a complete lack of follow-up communication, which left us in the dark about the restoration of water services.The checkout process turned into a lengthy ordeal with unresponsive management as the front desk was closed during checkout time. We experienced a significant lack of assistance, resulting in a frustrating wait past the designated checkout time.We encountered misleading information from the front desk staff. We paid for smores kits to enjoy at the firepit, but we were incorrectly informed that it closed at 9pm when, in reality, it closed at 12am. This lack of accurate information hindered our experience and left us feeling deceived.The unwelcoming atmosphere created by the guard at the entrance added to our disappointment. The repeated questioning of guests about the company they were from made us feel like unwanted intruders, rather than valued individuals staying at the establishment.In conclusion, our stay at Bandy Canyon was marked by a complete disregard for customer service and guest satisfaction. Despite the beauty of the location, it was overshadowed by unwelcoming treatment, poor communication, unresponsive management, misleading information, and a lack of essential amenities. We strongly advise against staying at Bandy Canyon as the numerous issues we encountered reflect a disregard for the comfort and happiness of their guests.

In November 2022 we had a large event of 65 people. We used the entire facility from the cabins, food service, outdoor patio where we had a band to the dining room facilities. The food was excellent and the staff were spot on. No issues whatsoever. I do recommend this venue, you will not be sorry. Stay in the cabins as they make your event extra special. They are very clean and updated inside. Grab a bottle of wine and set on one of the decks and relax.

I recently had an experience at Bandy Canyon Ranch that left me disappointed with the level of hospitality and customer service. While the location itself is beautiful, there are areas where improvements are needed to enhance the overall guest experience. We stayed at the ranch, but had our wedding at another nearby venue. During our stay, we encountered several incidents that fell short of our expectations.There were miscommunications regarding guest arrival times, and we felt that the staff could have done more to ensure a smooth check-in process and set clear expectations for guests. Guests were turned around at the gate for arriving 2 hours early instead of being allowed to in to park and explore the ranch.It would be beneficial for the staff to receive training on verifying the freshness and expiration dates of consumables before distributing them to guests. We even found mold on the bottom of one of the bread bags in the breakfast baskets. The front desk was informed about this and a replacement bread bag was given.We also experienced a lack of coordination and timely communication regarding amenities and services. For example, there was a miscommunication regarding the availability of fire pits, which resulted in us not being able to enjoy the smores boxes we had purchased. We were informed by the office staff that they would not turn on the fire pits despite other staff members stating that the fire pit is open until midnight. This left us feeling disappointed and as if we wasted money on purchased smores boxes.Furthermore, the gate guard consistently asked, What company do you belong to? instead of providing a warm welcome or requesting names or reservations. This approach created an unwelcoming experience for guests. It would be beneficial for the gate guard to receive training on hospitality and effective communication with guests, vendors, and maintenance vehicles.I even overheard a guest complaining about a staff member who responded with, thats not my jurisdiction, when asked about turning on an outdoor space heater. Staff members should receive training to respond positively and respectfully to guest inquiries, and if they are unable to assist, they should find someone who can.One significant incident occurred on the day of our wedding when an electrical fire caused a water outage in all cabins. The lack of timely communication and failure to inform all guests promptly about the situation and provide alternative sources of clean water was a major letdown. We were not notified until two hours after our guests noticed the issue, and only my wife received a text about the incident. Communication and transparency are crucial in such situations to minimize inconvenience.Moreover, we faced challenges during the checkout process due to the office being left unattended and scheduling conflicts, resulting in a delay and inconvenience. It is essential for the office to be staffed during business hours, especially during check-in and checkout times. Scheduling conflicts should be resolved to ensure a smooth and positive guest experience.Finally, our attempts to address our concerns and request a partial reimbursement have been met with slow response times and a lack of follow-up. Despite promises to speak to the CEO and get back to us, we have not received any further communication. This lack of responsiveness has been frustrating and disappointing.While Bandy Canyon Ranch has the potential to provide a pleasant experience due to its beautiful location, improvements in communication, staff training, and responsiveness to guest concerns are necessary to meet the expectations of guests seeking a high level of hospitality.

This place is a hidden gem! We used the Resort Pass app to book a day pass for the pool…. They have towels, chairs, pool floats, you can bring your own food and drinks. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Everything was super green and lush, nice little cabins, etc. Highly recommended for a nice relaxing day at a pool.

This place is the perfect getaway for families. My kids and I had such a great time. The cabin had everything we needed. I appreciated the little touches like bathrobes and slippers. The pool and hot tub were a hit with the kids. We went for a little hike right from the property and enjoyed spending time with the horses and other animals. I highly recommend this place. We cant wait to go back.

Got a day pass for the beautiful pool on the Resort Pass App for a little daycation by the pool. The property is lush and beautiful. You can bring your own food and drinks. It was quite and peaceful. Just what we were looking for. We plan to go back with the family for an overnight staycation in one of their many cottage like cabins. This is a ranch so they have horses and other animals for the kiddos.

Beautiful location and friendly staff. However if you’re older and need a comfortable bed, you may not enjoy the cabin. Our mattress had a huge dip in the middle making it impossible for 2 people to share. We barely slept and woke up with back pain.

We stayed here over the Memorial Day Weekend at the Swift cottage.The house itself was compact but well-designed and clean, though the beds werent the most comfy. The setting was beautiful and quiet and relaxing, and the welcome was warm. However, a malfunctioning smoke alarm started beeping every now and then late on the 2nd night, and there was no one to assist us except the security guard (who was very nice even if unhelpful). Since they are hard-wired into the ceiling, I couldnt remove the battery, and spent my entire last night pushing the Reset button so we barely slept. When I mentioned it to the reception, the woman just said they would look into it. I was a tad surprised and left unsatisfied but I was so tired I just wanted to get home and sleep. I was very disappointed in how they handled the situation, especially after the glowing reviews (and nice time we had been having).UPDATE= Debbie reached out to apologize after I emailed/called and credited us our 1 bad night (which we felt was fair). I would go back, assuming the fire alarm issue has been fixed.

This cabin staycation experience was as special as it gets. It was my first getaway experience post-Covid and I was very impressed with the precautions in place. There was a sanitizer/wellness checkin station and hand sanitizer in the cabin. I felt very comfortable and able to relax knowing that the areas were clean and sanitized. Debbie stayed in touch with us through the booking process and was available on site if we had questions.Cabin: My mom and I stayed in Eagle Cabin, two queen beds and two floors, each with a deck perfect for reading a good book. The interior was no frills but had all the essentials we needed (wine glasses & a mini fridge & Mr. Coffee maker). We loved that there were no tvs and that we could enjoy the peace and quiet. My bed was particularly cozy. It gets hot-hot-hot so I highly recommend opening the window and letting the air flow on your arrival. There was an AC unit in the cabin but we enjoyed the heat and summer breezes.The resort area itself has a beautiful pool area with plenty of seating for snacking or lounging. There is a very grand outdoor area with tables, lounge couches and a huge stone fireplace. It looks almost midevil-era. The timber beams are a sight to see. The landscaping on the lawn was truly gorgeous and we felt like we were in a magical secluded spot all on our own. We did the little trail (about .25 miles) in the morning before it got too hot. If we were staying longer we would have driven over to the nearby hiking but the little trail on-site was great for this trip.This is a great spot to either go on a couples trip, mother-daughter adventure, or book a few cabins next to eachother with a group. A very cool ranch carved into a private corner of the valley. The property is quite large and offers a hiking trail, pool and bbq area, horses.and dogs. Theres a little stream that flows right down the center of two cabins and through the property itself. The cabins are up to date, charming and ours even had an outdoor shower. My favorite thing to do was sit in front of the out door fireplace on the large sectional seating

Hidden Gem in San Diego area! Absolutely beautiful after all the rain weve had. Super fun to visit and just feel tranquil on the grounds. No food on the immediate Ranch, so pack your own to eat and drink. Enjoy the atmosphere, water trickling down the streams and waterfalls, and just Meandering through the horse paddocks. It just doesnt feel like youre in San Diego, more like something out of Wyoming, Colorado, or Utah. Highly recommend a day visit here for sure!

We attended a wedding here. Its definitely remote. I wouldnt call it beautiful. The pool area was used for the rehearsal dinner and it wasnt very clean when we started prepping. No trash cans, no trash bags, a dead frog in fridge, water hardly worked, cobwebs and dust everywhere...they knew there was a rehearsal dinner and couldve done FAR more to prep and clean it before we used it. The pool wasnt cleaned so we cleaned it ourselves. I definitely wouldnt stay here.

Great equestrian ranch for a private, cozy weekend getaway. They have beautiful horses and you can ride around the property. Assessible to lots of hiking trails just right outside the ranch. Close to downtown Escondido so you can have more food options there. Or there is Italian food delivery option at the local pizza place. We stayed at the Fire house and it was very private and cozy. It is by the creek on the property.

I believe Bandy Ranch has so much potential. Its a beautiful place far away from any distractions. True their are no TVs and no phones to call front desk. And I think thats part of the problem, you feel alone/helpless. Like no one cares. I arrived late due to traffic and was checked in by security, wrote my private credit card information on a piece of paper not knowing where it went to and no proof or receipt. Next day went to the made up front desk, its really a small portable trailer to say hello and asked if my credit card had been charged, but the girls were busy chatting to themselves and paid no attention to me. Took the key to check out, and again the girls just said by. No receipt, no document, no total, nothing! Just by. This to me seemed kinda unprofessional, and wired. Ive never stayed in a place that doesnt give you a receipt or proof of your stay. Just hope my credit card information wasnt stolen or misused? Now the cottages are nice, need a little work done, and I understand that the aged look gives it charm, but the paint on the walls was peeling. Thats not charming. Overall was okay, but I know this place can be amazing, just needs to have some money pumped into it and it will get there. Heres wishing to a better future for this place.

The property is stunning, but mngmt is in dire need of customer service training! Prior to visiting, we called numerous times but no one answered or returned messages. When We arrived, the gate was locked & they hadnt given us a gate code, so we called for over 15 minutes while the phone continued to go unanswered. When we finally reached the lobby, we learned we were the ONLY guests staying, so why couldnt staff answer the phone on the desk next to them? When we got inside our cabin, we reported a terrible stench of rotten eggs & milky/brown water from the tap. Staffs answer: we can let you use a different cabin to take your showers, but they didnt offer to relocate us to one of their 15 VACANT cabins----which meant inhaling the stench during our stay...WHAT?? We were their ONLY guests! Had we taken them up on this crazy offer, we would have had to hike up the hill in the rain because our car was required to stay outside the locked gate. In an attempt to get a break from the room stench, we walked up to take a jacuzzi, only to find it very dirty & extremely cold. The next day (around noon) I informed an employee & mngmt (Debbie) we would be having a fire on the shared patio that night and asked if we could borrow a lighter/matches. We were told to come back when we were ready to start the fire and they would give it to us then. At 4:45 (4.5 hours later), I returned to lobby and asked for the lighter, but when Debbie went to get it, she couldnt locate it. WHAT?? They had all day to find the lighter, but didnt bother to look for it until we needed it. After 45 minutes looking for the lighter, I suggested they use the kitchen stove to light a tube of paper so we could get the fire going, but they ignored my suggestion. It wasnt until 6:30 that they found a lighter and another 40 minutes to get the fire going because the flume hasnt been cleaned. Needless to say, our stay was spent smelling rotten eggs, not having clean running water, not being able to use the jacuzzi & wasting 3 hours of our time while staff walked around looking for a $1.00 lighter.

March 17, 2017 - Left hanging with nowhere to stay at 9pm with wife and five kids. Called earlier in the day to double check reservation and was told to call the security guard on his cell when we arrived, due to late arrival time. We arrive after 12 hour drive from New Mexico with 5 kids, and the place is closed. I literally walked around the property looking for ANYONE to help me. I called the phone number I was given for the security guard to check us in and he never answered his cell phone. Waited by the gate for an hour to see if someone would show up. Finally another guest drove up and told us they were closed due to a power outage. Finally had to call Expedia and they found us a place to stay about an hour away. This 1-star review is deserved because the hotel SHOULD HAVE CALLED incoming guests to tell them that the power was out and they were closed. Instead they just screwed us and left us out in the cold.

My friend got home a little early from her ride with her mother and has tears rolling down her cheeks. She explained to me the unacceptable and unbelievable treatment she received at Bandy Canyon Ranch. Not only was she refused service was not allowed to reschedule and they refused her a refund as well. Based on what I saw in her eyes and what I heard, I recommend any other alternative choice for horse trail riding!!!They should be ashamed of DENYING her service, as well as DENYING a refund!

Me and my boyfriend stayed at The Dove cottage for 2 nights. This place has so much charm. Its really beautiful and definitely a nice little getaway from the city. Its tucked away from all the commotion of the city and you wake up to the sounds of nature. This is a beautifully restored 19th century Rancho. The place is so serene and peaceful. We were lulled to sleep by croaking frog and woke up to birds singing happily. Great for a weekend getaway. We had made a reservation for two cabins with The Ranch at Bandy Canyon in mid October for November 9 & 10, 2016. When I called they said they would have to check their schedule and call me back. The called back and confirmed and sent me a confirming email on 28 October, 2016. Yesterday on the 2nd of November they called and cancelled our reservation saying they had a computer glich. That was totally unacceptable as we had been planning a family vacation and some had all ready taken off from work. The Ranch at Bandy Canyon provided a beautiful quiet getaway for our family during covid. It was close by, and yet while you were there you felt a million miles away from it all! We loved the beautiful grounds, the unique cabins, the eclectic dining halls and gathering places, the peaceful atmosphere, it really did check all of our boxes. We bbqd Hawaiian burgers by the pool for dinner, sizzled up some bacon and pancakes for breakfast, lounged on the hammock, walked around the grounds admiring its beauty, only wish we had stayed longer to explore the hiking trails on site.
