We had a breakfast on Saturday morning and ordered classic American breakfast. The chicken breast was dry, scrambled eggs were unsalted, but the signature caramel sea salted latte was so good. Atmosphere was also good, cozy place. And one more thing that noticed they served food with cracked dishes, maybe it’s a shtick 🙂

This place has a wonderful location. The service was good. The food was also good. It’s a small place so the tables are very close to each other. The was very surprised at how unkept the place was. There are dirty, dusty old Christmas lights hung up. The ceiling has big patches of paint peeling coming off the ceiling. There was cracked salt and pepper shakers, a plant in front that was dying. I was wondering how clean the kitchen was. This tells me the owners do not care what condition the inside looks like. It cost very little to do a little clean up. I am very surprised nothing was mentioned about this in other reviews.

Enjoyed a quick lunch here after whale watching! Love the selection of lattes, but ended up ordering a chai latte which was delicious! We ordered from both the lunch and breakfast menus and were happy with our selections. Reasonably priced too! I’d definitely visit again

Highly rated spot in Balboa! Theres usually a little bit of a weight, but well worth it. Very friendly and personable staff all around and obviously a lot to sit around and look at. Meals come out quick and are great! Counter-ordered full coffee bar as well, with fantastic macchiatos and cortados. I really like the place!

Super solid breakfast/brunch place! I came with my partner and we got seated in 10 min on a busy Sunday morning.Good:- The food here is SO tasty! I loved my meatless breakfast sandwich as well as the breakfast burrito.- Chai latte here was stellar - super sweet too.- I liked that the entrees came with fruit too!Bad:- More casual diner area, slower service and less attentive staffOverall this place is so close to the beach and super tasty food so I would come again.

Everything was super delicious. As for their turkey burger, not so much. I think its best they just take the burgers out of their menu if theyre going to be serving patties that were frozen. Maybe prepping their own patties would help them from losing a star. The whole menu was everything a woman can ask for. You guys have the best lattes. Their waitress was nice and the restaurant was pleasant. Will be back:)

This place is amazing. Great food great atmosphere and of course great service..This place offers some amazing espresso drinks that is so delicious and wonderfully made.I was visiting LA my family, a party of 9 and, they were able to quickly accommodate us.I had the build your own omelet with that amazing Crispy Broccoli on the side.Violet is so sweet and so amazing that we came back a couple days later just to experience the wonderful service that she delivers. Whenever I return, I do plan to always make my way back to Newport Beach. Just to experience this place again.I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

1st and foremost-Devin is that dude! Great service and very knowledgeable of the menu and coffees. (Not your ordinary coffee at all-way above your starbucks or even hipster cafe)This was my 2nd time here, just as great as the first time when I brought moms. So good, I went down to Newport yesterday and went and got some coffee here, wasnt that expensive but really good, the atmosphere was phenomenal, I went in and felt comfortable asking what their recommendations were, so I got myself a coffee and Lord all mighty, it was really good, like it was small and I got an extra shot in it, now ofc I was thinking that extra shot was going to make the espresso flavor stand out more but no I could still taste the salted caramel coffee without the taste of the espresso and yet it still was strong enough to keep me up all day after having no sleep for 2 nights.

This is a well designed, comfortable and extremely friendly establishment!Serving throngs of tourists and locals in the center of the fun zone area, they make it work well.Food takes a few minutes but you are not at a fast food joint! Service and all staff interaction is really upbeat and positive.Coffee drinks are a specialty and looking around my fellow customers everyone seems to enjoy the various concoctions.I ordered the cheeseburger plate with fries. It arrived exactly as I ordered and was absolutely delicious.Overall this place is a winner in my book, I will be back!

The peanut flavor in the California Cobb is amazing. The options for the lattes and being able to have them iced or hot is fantastic. I really enjoyed the cardamom one. And, the chocolate ganache banana waffles worked out great as a shareable dessert for two.

Lilys is a wonderful breakfast stop after a walk/run workout on the Balboa Beach. Their menu has traditional & unique breakfast items but with an emphasis on healthy eating. I had a spectacular breakfast burrito that was not greasy, not heavy, and utterly delicious. Oh and the coffe menu rocked!

This was recommended by a local. We had another activity but one of th girls said its a 25 minute wait. She saw I was hesitant when discussing with my party and still she said itll probably be less. 45 minute wait and they were still calling others ahead of us so the wait actually would have been longer. There was an empty table in the corner of the restaurant but they didnt use it?Set the right expectation.And they dont even take down your number to contact you so youre stuck there until they call you. I didnt see other brunch spots near by otherwise wouldnt have wasted my time. Ridiculous.Food maybe good, but not worth standing there for an hour+Management is clearly a joke.

An oasis on a peninsula of ‘meh food. We wish we would have found this place on day one. Cozy local spot that we visit often. Their small coffee shop in particular (which is temporarily closed until mid March). We agree that Corey makes the best latest. The service is always great. The people that work here are all nice. The owner is kind. They have vegan options for food and drinks. My only complaint is that since the little cafe is closed, the coffee service takes much longer than usual (approx 10 min) at the restaurant. They use Kean coffee.

Found this spot after a long hiking day and the food really hit the spot. Everything was delicious and service was top notch. I had some loose leaf green tea and it was incredible. Planned a breakfast at a different location but it was after 12pm and they didn’t have breakfast so we walked over to Lily’s. Cute little local place with patio seating and an inside coffee shop. They serve breakfast all day. Large coffee menu with many interesting options. We ordered the Matcha and Rose Orange Lattes. Both came out filled to the rim with a pretty decorated top. They have a good selection of breakfast items. We ordered the veggie omelette with fries and the morning fries. The morning fries are a version of carne asada fries but with egg instead of meat. The fries were not hot enough in either dish. The omelette was a little overcooked as well as the egg on the morning fries. The waitress Estella was super sweet and accommodating. She made the experience enjoyable. She was attentive and made sure we were taken care of - overall a good experience. Good place to people watch too. There is metered parking across the street 2hr limit for $3.40 an hour. Recommend you find street parking so you can walk around the town.

With all do respect to this restaurant they may have good food and coffee options but customer service is poor. Its my partners birthday and I have been trying to call this place for the last 2 days trying to get reservations for her special day. What if I were a customer that wanted take out for breakfast or lunch? Dont bother trying to get ahold of this place via telephone because in my mind they only care about the people that walk through the door. And In this day and age you should also be catering to those that want to be respectful of other peoples space instead of only pandering to your locals.

My husband and I visited Lilys today around noon. We ordered the Breakfast Bowl with ham and country potatoes. I asked for my eggs to be soft and moist and lightly scrambled. I specifically mentioned to the Waiter to tell the Chef that I did not want over-cooked, dry, rubbery eggs. My husband ordered two eggs basted with country potatoes and ham. -- The meal was such a disappointment. My eggs were so overcooked I could almost bounce them on the floor. The potatoes were so hard and overcooked with excess salt and seasoning they were inedible. The Waiter returned my eggs and asked the Chef to make me another order of eggs cooked very lightly and very soft. The second ones were cooked just as bad as the first ones. I could not eat them. I could not eat any of my meal except for the toast and strawberry jam. My husbands experience with his breakfast was the same as mine. His eggs were hard-fried instead of basted. The Chef did not know what it meant to baste the eggs. The meal was inedible. We were both so sorry to have had such an unsatisfactory experience at Lilys. The Waiter was excellent and tried so hard to make our experience good for us. The coffee was very good. The Chef was the problem at Lilys. We wont be returning.

There are some good dishes here, but others are meh. My favorite is the meatless breakfast sandwich. I tried the fish and chips last time, but they werent that great...a little overcooked. Also the place is not kept very clean. But the large windows stay open in nice weather and its affordable, making it good for a nice quick bite at the beach.

The semi-outdoor patio has nice ambiance and great air flow, making for a relaxing setting to have a bite near ther beach. I had the veggie omelette with chorizo and it was amazing!! Lots of veggies and chorizo, definitely not skimping there! The fries were also yummy, crispy and hot. There is a coffee bar with quite a unique selection of flavor choices that I will need to try out on my next visit. Great service. I highly recommend trying this place out.

As if spending the weekend on Balboa beach wasn’t perfect enough, we stopped by this local brunch spot because it had a cute aesthetic! Make time to come to Balboa Lily’s to try their special lattes (peanut butter.. yum!) and delicious Breakfast burrito. Most importantly, ask for Tom! We read some of reviews about bad food. Having limited choices and time, we tossed caution to the wind. After all, how bad could it get we were just getting eggs.Well, it got terrible fast. The potatoes were old and cooked several times making it impossible to stick my fork in them.The waitress took them back.The omelette was burnt and crispy.We finished the best we could. That is when the waitress reemerged asking if we still wanted the potatoes.Having finished this horrible breakfast we saw no need to chase this meal with anything other than water. Lots and lots of water. Are visit was 7/24/17.If you get stuck with no alternative but Baboa Lilys may we recommend cold cereal. Oh yea, skip the toast also unless you like it rock hard. Good luck!

One of our favorite places to eat with the family when we visit Newport Beach. Food is amazing, service is friendly, and the environment is clean, relaxed, perfectly situated near the beach and other Balboa attractions. I used to love coming to Lily’s ever Sunday unfortunately that all changed when McKenna. I have never been treated so poorly like I was less than a person. She made trans phobic comments towards my partner and I which made us extremely uncomfortable. Not only that but the restrooms are filthy and smell like sewage. I hope McKenna gets what’s coming her way Philip was crying for 3 hours after she called him a lady boy under her breath.

Coffees were discusting. We didnt drink them and told our server who still charged us and argued with us it was because of our choice of coffee we made. Avocado toast, one peice of white sandwich grocery store bread with watery avocado and store bought balsamic dressing. Go here if u want to get ripped off, eat horrible food and terrible service.
