So I’m an old tech and I just wanted a new case. Well the damn thing came with a fan and led hub… what made things worse was no manual and non to be found online. Did I mention I’m and “old” tech. I am happy to say these guys were patient and quick to respond for help. I found them to be smart and pleasant to work with! Also, the price of the case, heat sink and PSU were on par with other big box companies.

Seemed like a good computer shop but my experience was much less than good. I came here to get one pdf tax file off an old laptop that wouldnt boot up. I had already gotten all other data off myself before it crashed, and only needed my 1040 from last yrs taxes. I was told it was 135$ to get anything off of it. Fine no problem, only they couldnt find it, let alone get me the file. I dont know a whole lot about computers but I know this file was saved on that computer as a pdf file along with 10 yrs of other tax files, none of which they could find or recover. Seems like old tax files would be something fairly common to have to recover but they seemed to have no idea how to find or recover it. I was told the owner would contact me about this since I was unhappy to pay full price to recover NOTHING. If I had to tell a customer at my work I could NOT do the work, I would charge them nothing, not that I expected nothing, they did try. But to pay full pop for service that was not accomplished seems ridiculous. So beware, no tax files apparently can be recovered and you will pay anyway.

Very professional and honest business. Will do their best to resolve all issues in any way possible. Always friendly and polite no matter how many times I called for updates. They work quickly too, so don’t be off put if you’re told you’re way back in line. Will definitely come back if I need to in the future.

Bakersfield Bytes tried to repair my daughter’s old computer so I could use it as a back up. They were up front with me when it started overheating and said it wouldn’t be worth the cost. I appreciate their integrity.

Temo Lopez and his team are very efficient, friendly, humorous, and patient.I had no clue of how complex a PC and its parts are. They explained the process a few times and the benefits. No matter how many times I came back for questions and suggestions, the team was very accommodating.I recommend Bakersfield Bytes for all of your computer needs.

Edit: The owner reached out to me and we reached a compromise on my original issues. He was professional and apologetic, I raised my rating but still be cautious with your things. Take pictures before and after if you intend to drop off anything.----------------------------Loaned a laptop to a friend whos desktop was having issues. Keep in mind ive had this laptop for a while so its not in peak condition. But I have made all repairs and upgrades to this laptop myself. My friend took it to this shop because I didnt have the time to look at it and figured it would be faster. It was a rush job, misplaced screws all over, one of which was too long and was causing a short on the board. Broken pieces on the case that hold the screw anchors so there are several endless spinning screws. The rubber cup for the spacebar was ripped off... so now the spacebar cannot be used.I wish you would take the time and care on EVERY computer that comes through your shop. The haphazard way my laptop was handled is very disheartening seeing all these 5 star reviews, I wonder how many people have got the same service but dont have the technical know how, to keep you honest. My friend has taken several of their PCs here and they will no longer after this. Its upsetting that such lackluster care was given to someone who was already having PC issues and tried to do the right thing by having a professional fix an issue she was having with my hardware. Do better.
