Props to Jay and his company! Although they were super busy and had to reschedule my appointment, it was worth the wait. He knew exactly what he was working with and got my heater working properly again. The previous company that came out (South Placer Heating and Air) gave me a wrong diagnosis for the issue and then tried to convince me I needed to replace the heat exchange or the entire HVAC unit! Thank goodness I got a second opinion, and landed someone honest. Jay saved me big time.

Honest and reliable business. Both Johnny and Jay care about their customers and the community. They have our best interests at heart, and I highly recommend them! If I have an HVAC issue again, I know who to call. Did I mention Jay showed up on his day off when an emergency repair came up and we needed to reschedule? These guys are a stop shop. The owner came out himself to check out my radiant floors which I already thought was cool. When he looked at them he came to the conclusion that the zone control modules were probably shot. He told me that if I am comfortable changing them myself Id save some money, I agreed. He gave me some pointers on how to do it and the website on which I could find the products. That was 1 year ago, I finally got around to changing them and now my radiant floors work like new. Thank you guys for helping and being thoughtful. And most importantly being right.

Sorry this review is three months late guys. My experience with Baehr was pleasant from the office personnel, the installers and Jay himself. I had a full AC/furnace change out and a rather complex issue with a mini split. Instead of up selling me extra equipment and labor (other bids did just that), Jay gave me a couple of options and thus saved me thousands. I had to do a little drywall work myself, but it was well worth it. The mini split now actually functions and the main unit is awesome. Shout out to Johnny, probably the friendliest installer around.

I’m very happy to give Baehr Heating and Air a full five star rating. Jay responded to our initial inquiry immediately and actually called to let us know he was in the area and arrived to give us and estimate hours before scheduled. The team, Johnny, Zack, and Alex arrived to install our new mini splits on time, were friendly, quick, and thorough, they even petted our dogs. Shortly after the install, we experienced a problem that may nor may not have been related, but Jay was out here within hours of my call and corrected the issue like he was helping a friend. Can’t ask for more than that.

This is the place to go for a new HVAC system. Jay suggested a heat pump to replace our aging furnace and air conditioner. I’m thoroughly impressed with the even heat and cooling. The upstairs temperature is within one degree of the downstairs, when it previously was 80 degrees in the summer with the old air conditioner cranked on high. And in the winter, there’s no cold spots in the house; everywhere it’s uniformly pleasant. Great crew—they’re pleasant, experienced, and they know what they’re doing! We liked this unit so much, we bought another one for a different building.

I have to say, from the 1st call to their office, I was immediately IMPRESSED with their professionalism, honesty and simple kindness. Jay came out on a scheduled svc call to inspect our system and was VERY helpful and completely willing to aid me doing my own system maintenance. He provided me with tips and tricks plus a materials list for routine maintenance and cleaning of our indoor and outdoor units. He went as far as to provide me a list of items that will aid in the maintenance / cleaning as well! I have never heard of a heating and air company doing such a thing! THOROUGHLY impressed!!! This company was great to work with. Jay, Alex and Jon did everything possible to keep my very old and antiquated system working and after a great effort on their part we agreed it was time for replacement. They suggested a new Bosch heat pump unit and I couldnt be happier with the results. They were very patient with me throughout the process as I had a lot of questions and concerns. Called this company and was thinking I had a big problem. Whole central unit wasnt accepting thermostat. And looked all over internet and kept saying I needed to push a reset button. Talked to this place and told my model and they knew right off the back of there hand. No reset button you just need to set your thermostat wire from b to c on the blue wire, and a new fuse amp 3-5 (5 at largest). Was able to talk for 5 minutes and solved me and more like my grandfathers problem. Hes a renter and had two weeks till people moved in. If I can talk on the phone and they can recognize whats up on the phone, without no pictures. I would definitely recommend ther service if I had anything bigger to deal with. Thank God it was small. But this company knows what ther doing. I had good service from Jay on phone. If company as good as him then no worries.

It was the day after Christmas, and my furnace wasnt working. It had failed three days earlier, but the company that usually services my system was closed for the holiday. After three cold days, I was eager to find a tech who could repair my furnace. I looked for other highly-rated companies in my area. The first one I called was also closed for the holiday, then I called Baehr Heating and Air. I left a message, and Jay Baehr got back to me right away.I told Jay what kind of unit I have and what the problem symptoms were. He knew immediately what was wrong. He told me he could come repair it the next day, but that the repair was easy. He said I could repair it myself so I wouldnt have to wait, and offered to coach me through it. He had me send him a photo of the inside of the furnace. He soon returned the photo marked up to show the component that was causing the problem, and a text message explaining the steps needed to repair it. I followed his instructions, and the furnace fired right up. When I asked Jay how much I owed him for all his help, he would not accept any payment.To say I am very impressed with Jay would be an understatement. He was responsive, knowledgeable and professional. He also went out of his way to help me, and I really appreciate it. I look forward to using this company again.

A few months ago, I had Baehr come to my house to fix my AC. They were on time and diagnosed the problem within a few minutes. All good until the fix. They said the PART COST was $350 and they had one in the truck. This part cost is on top of the $105 just to come to your house to take a look. Not knowing the cost of the part and not really having any choice at that point, I said ok. After they left, I found the EXACT part online. The cost of the part was $98, and they charged me $350. I have no problem paying professionals for their time, but hiking the cost of the PART by 3.5x is just not ethical. If the part cost was twice as much I might let it slide but THREE AND A HALF TIMES MORE?!? Come on, a 5 minute fix for a common part, that is unreasonable. Wont be using them again and will tell people to be careful of them in the future.

Baehr did a great job installing my mini split system and it works great. I opted for the wi-fi option to operate the system with my phone and there was a problem linking my phone to the mini split but Alex and his partner stayed almost an additional hour to get it working. I really appreciated that. Service with a smile and the guys were great to work with. Highly recomended!

I went through three previous companies (two through my home warranty company) before calling Jay at Baehr. Two of the previous companies told me I would need a whole new AC system, and one wanted to quote me for ductwork. Jay came over to give a second opinion and immediately on looking in my unit saw that the evaporator coil needed to be cleaned and that the fan speed was set to its lowest setting. After the cleaning and fan speed increase, my system is working great, its even keeping us comfortable on 105 degree days! No idea why no other company was able to see what the issue was but Jay saved me a ton of money and headache, and was super friendly and professional to boot. Definitely my go-to company from now on.

Were it possible, Id give Baehr Heating & Air 10 stars! Our combination heating/hot water system motor was burned out due to a power surge (PG&E) following a 2-hour power outage during the third week of February 2023, amid unprecedented low temps and blizzard conditions. The first half dozen repair services I called either didnt return my calls at all or sent out technicians who didnt have any knowledge of my system, suggesting instead that I needed a whole new system at a cost of $22,000 and above. When I finally found Baehr H&A, Jayson Baehr responded immediately, despite hazardous road conditions, diagnosed the fried motor, located a replacement motor and other needed parts in SoCal, and arranged to have them overnighted via FedEx. When they didnt arrive, he chased all over Sacramento until he located the wayward parts, then came right out and installed the new motor, all at less than 25% of the cost of a new system. The whole system has been working like a charm every since, and I give Baehr H&A full credit. They are lifesavers!!!

So I woke up Saturday morning to my cats, yelling at me as they like to lie on the heat vents for warmth, and realized my vents were blowing out cold air! I called five different places. Nobody answered. I called Baehr and to my surprise Jay answered the phone- he came right over and fixed the problem.My current natural gas furnace and screechy awful air unit was roughly 30- 35 years old. We discussed replacing it and some different options. A couple days later, just like I asked, he had two guys come out they were awesome ! no pressure, three separate estimates with three different systems in three different price ranges - easy Peezy. I chose the Bosh heat pump and air handler. He sent his guys over installed it in one day. I couldn’t be happier. Natural gas prices being what they are convinced me. We’ve already seen a big decrease in our monthly bill and haven’t even had a full month with the new system yet. It’s quiet, the heat is even throughout the house. Where the last system when the heat was on it was too hot and when it was off it was too cold — I haven’t touched the thermostat since I programmed it. I highly recommend this company and this system. Looking forward to going into this next summer with cooling equipment that works properly and is efficient.Lots to worry about in life - heating and cooling your home shouldn’t be something you have to constantly think about.very happy customer ✅✅

Jay installed two mini-split A/Cs for us. The time between getting his estimate and finishing the install was less than 5 days. He and his assistant are obviously experts, fast workers, friendly yet no nonsense, clear explanations—and his price was the lowest estimate that we got. Lowest estimates might raise questions, except Jay came highly recommended by a friend. Were super-happy customers, and Jay will be our first choice for any HVAC needs. 5 stars indeed!Some days later: Id like to add what was, in retrospect, the most positive factor about Jay, and that is that he wanted us to have exactly the setup that we wanted. I have to say BAEHR Heating and Air, by far, has to be the most impressive service/repair company I’ve ever dealt with. I called and left a message after hours yesterday regarding my AC unit not working.This morning I received a return call from Jay at 8:00AM. I explained the problem to him and he asked where I lived. He said he was on his way to his first appt and because I was right on his way, he could swing by and take a look. He was here in less than 5 minutes. He diagnosed the problem and said he could fix it right then. He was so friendly, professional and quick. He was done, had my AC unit up and running and was pulling out of my driveway by 8:45AM. Jay & his team are the best - they repaired my AC when no other company was available. They also installed my gas range. This wasnt a straight forward install - the gas line needed adjusting & of course the oven was delivered without the propane converter. Jay was so accommodating while we scrambled to get the parts & was able to install same day. Jay is our go -to for all HVAC, etc. needs. Had trouble making our thermostat work--it was far too complicated for an old fool like me. I contacted maybe 3, maybe 4 local heating and air companies to get an idea on price. This man was the only one who told me, Give me a call and Ill be glad to walk you through it, so itll work simply. I told him thanks, Ill remember that kindness. And when the furnace failed us, on the coldest day of the year so far, I called him, told him my poor wife, her cat, and the dogs were all freezing in our own house, he said, Ill squeeze you in. He literally called over 25 suppliers to find the part we needed and came out and did the work quickly. Our furnace stopped heating on Tuesday. We called Jay Wednesday at 8am! It was the best call we ever made. Jay was at our home within 2 hours, and after hearing our story, he was 99% sure what our problem was! He went to the unit, and came out 10 minutes later with the offending igniter!!! Five stars is not enough for BAEHR Heating. Such outstanding service, rendered over the phone!!! I mistakenly attempted to install a new thermostat. Needless to say, it didn’t work out well. Old thermostat reinstalled and then furnace would not start. Very cold night. Called BAEHR Heating first thing in the morning and promptly got a call back. He able to solve the problem and provide a solution. He was spot on!! Furnace now running, new thermostat installed and programmed. For all my heating and air conditioning needs, I will not hesitate to entrust BAEHR Heating. I highly recommend this service.

After a month of central heating problems where heat was not evenly distributed throughout my house, heater fan would never go off (even on off) and a $215 PGE bill, I finally called Baehr Heating and Air. Jay, the owner, came within the day to check the problem; fixed the fan immediately; and ordered a new control board. I have used several HVAC companies over the years in the GV area, and recently had a failure of my AC. I called them, and they were all booked well out for several weeks.On a recommendation, I called Baehr and he agreed to come out the very next day.Unfortunately, the unit was shot and I needed a new one. Jay was able to find one that was available locally and had it drop-shipped to my house within a couple of days.The install location itself was a bit tricky, but he handled it like a pro and did what needed to be done to get the old one out and the new one in and looking like nothing had ever happened.I seriously couldnt be happier with how it turned out, and while Im not happy my old unit quit (it was 20 years old, so I guess it was time)... Im glad I found Baehr and had him take care of it. As they were already headed out on the call, they gave me two things to check and provided a solution to my problem over the phone along with the location in town where I could pick up the part. They could have charged me for a house call to simply tell what they told me over the phone and I wouldnt have known the difference. My furnace is running again with a minimum of effort and expense. Our 20+year old heat pump was having a hard time keeping the house cool during the recent 100+ temperatures. Baehr Heating and Air was recommended so I contacted them and an appointment was made the following day. Evaluating the system the Trane heat pump was in reasonable condition for its age but needed refridgerant (4 1/2 pounds for a 11 pound system). A decision had to be made about replacing the system with a more efficient system as well as replacing the ducting under the house as the vapor wrap had detoriated due to UV. Jay Baehr and his assistant checked my non-cooling A/C last week. He added 6 pounds of R22 Freon and Sealant to the unit that holds 7 pound of Freon. I was not informed of the cost per pound prior to installation.He charges $175 per pound for Freon and $250 for Sealant plus $75 for diagnosing. My bill was $1365. His assistant also installed a thermostat I had purchased, which took 10-15 min.After they left I google R22 Freon prices, but Amazon was the only source, 30 pound tank for around $200. Not sure if the quality is the same. During my search I read that R22 Freon is no longer manufactured, and may not be available in 2020. Parts for older units may not be available soon either. I was not told any of this by Mr. Baehr.Note what three other HVAC companies charge:All Phase (they couldnt come for several weeks): $64/ poundKonrad(Auburn): $95/pound; $150 for Sealant he said would only workfor small leaks, not for 7 # unit that needed 6#s FreonAlso warned about lack of availability next year.A&A: $150/ pound; warned about lack of availability next year.Please ask R22 Freon prices when you make an appointment, especially if you own an older unit.
