The doctor was very nice. I wish they had warned me about the pupil dilation after affects! I would have taken a driver with me to drive me home!! Also while waiting for my next appointment after 15 minutes I approached the desk to ask. Receptionist juggled through files..found my file and said...oh we thought you had gone home...then they proceeded to finalize my next appointment.

Me and my mother tried to reach this place on average of two hours a day for weeks. Just machine loops or infinite ringtones, no one ever answers. We also left voicemails and used the text number provided; no reply either.Its not just this locations, it seems like all the affiliated businesses are almost as bad with communicating with their patients and with themselves.The only reason I didnt give them one star is because the medical personnel seem to know what theyre doing at least.

Dr. Lu was friendly and professional. She explained everything clearly to my 82 year old mother and got moms ok to proceed with the procedure she recommended. A few years ago, mom had the same thing done by another doctor but it wasnt fully explained to us so mom refused to do the other eye. Dr. Lu provided reading materials as well as explained moms situation with the pictures that were taken right before our appointment. I think she is wonderful!

Dr Lu was quick and efficient but the appointment never felt rushed. She discussed the outcome of the examination and her recommended action items. She answered my questions and made notations in my patient profile. I was comfortable during the appointment. Dr Lu instilled a level of confidence quickly and Im happy to have Dr. Lu providing future health care for me.

Surely the administrative staff has proven patient, competent and trustworthy while the doctors and their support staff have unfortunately fallen short, shrugging their shoulders and proven bedside manner is no longer taught and competent people are hard to be found, and when they are found, their schedules are overbooked.

I was taken in promptly since I was able to fill out all the paperwork in advance via their online system. The student doctor that administered all the basic exams was efficient, knowledgeable, and very pleasant to converse with, even tho Im just an old retired guy. The doctor came in after that to repeat critical evaluations relative to my issues and concerns. I will definitely be seeing him again next year so that he can monitor my old eyes.

Service today was started within minutes of the appt. time, and efficiently done by pleasant and courteous office and initial prep personnel. There was a little extra wait time after the preliminaries, but then I knew that would only be because Doctor Ong might be taking a little extra time in conference with a patient, which I appreciated when it was necessary to do so with me. She arrived, bright as a ray of sunshine, did the follow-up exam with confidence and good cheer, noted the vision improvement, and in about eight minutes, we were done. Always a great experience with Dr. Ong and her crew.

First time to this location. When I got in, I noticed the lobby was big and furniture was in abundance. I thought I went to a furniture store.I checked in which was quick and sat down to one of the chairs which was so comfortable I wanted to sleep on it.I noticed there were a lot people dotted, I believe waiting to be called.Seeing this, I thought it’s going to be a long wait BUT, only after a few minutes, my name was called and my eyes lit up.Daniel help me with the prep and was thorough and knowledgeable.After prepping, the Dr. Came in.Very nice and polite aside from being pretty 😉lolShe went through the process and was very detailed and also very clear as to what my problem was.Prescribed some meds and will be back for sure in one week for a follow up and I can’t wait.Reason I said that is because, I feel confident she did a good job and I will be healed, 🤞 fingers crossed.Nothing is. Retain in this world but, the way she Carrie’s herself was good enough for me.Also I’d like to add that I was having a serious problem with my eyes. Both are red and getting more like a red tomato 🍅 so I called and ask for immediate request to see a doctor.None available but was able to call another location and gotSet up the following day.That’s what I called “good customer service”👍🙏😇

Im so glad I ended up here. The staff and front desk admin is good - much better than what I typically see from Drs offices, and much better here than their Glendora location. Dr. Villegas is great. We made an appointment to see the optometrist, we did not get to see her. The receptionist would not let us and said our insurance did not cover it. If the person scheduling the appointment would have said this we would have only come in to pick up eye prescription. The receptionist refused to tell me that I only needed a referral from the primary care physician to see the optometrist. Then she said i can see the person who could send the order for a new pair of glasses but it would cost for us to see the optometrist. If medical doesnt want us to see vision doctors but once every two years how will anyone know if their vision has changed and still you will not be able to get a new pair of glasses for two years. I dont know if it was medical or the receptionist who did not have our best interest in mind.

My only constructive criticism is that they need to tell the patient beforehand that they’ll be seeing a student first for the majority of the exam and then see the doctor at the end. This is a very scary place.. Dr. Warner walked in and the first thing he said to me was you’re going to have big scars if I use my insurance, but if I choose to pay for this procedure out of pocket there would be no scars, they then went on to show me two pictures of people that had scars from the procedure. I was thinking of getting. So basically, he basically, he was was trying to convince me to pay for it out of pocket. this has never happened to me before. Crazy

Appointment time was at 3pm I had no waiting time. When I saw the Dr he did a complete exam and explained the outcome clearly which allowed me to understand what was occurring. The girls at the front desk are clueless and need training on how to speak to people and how to be professional. Not only did I have to show my approval notice to them 3 times, but it was also faxed 3 times. They had me waiting for hours. I finally saw the doctor and he recommended further treatment and to get a referral from the girls. I was given an appointment to see a pediatrics! I called them back, this is what they said. The eye doctors are good, renew an prescription takes about a week if you need to talk to them about a problem you will not get any help over the phone they will transfer you to a phone that no body answer or returned calls for messages left. If you need help go to the office. The problem is there is not person who is responsible for getting back to you if you leave a message. Thay should have one person assigned to one or two doctors that its there responsibility to help you with a direct phone with answer messages that they will respond to with in 24 hours. THE BEST WAY TO GET HELP IS TO ASK YOURE DOCTOR FOR HIS OR HER E -MAIL ADDRESS EXPLAIN YOURE PROBLEM AND THEY WILL HELP YOU WITH IN 24 HOURS. Good luck

I went to this eye clinic for help with my swollen eyelid. Dr. Elena Karapetian saw me during my visit. I was honestly kind of worried about why my eyelid was so swollen. She examined not only my eyelids but also my actual eyes. It turns out that I have something a step above a stye. She explained to me the potential causes for it and went over treatment. In my case, it would be Amoxicillin.I am super grateful for Dr. Karapetians kindness, patience, and professionalism towards me. She made me feel at ease and better informed about what was happening with my eyelid. Thank you, Dr. Karapetian! : )

Waited nearly 2 months to get an appointment for simple glasses prescription. Arrived early, prepped andvpaid early, and waited, and waited, and waited... I finally checked in the consultation room only to wait some more. Then I was switched room, only to wait more and more. After 1.5 hour waiting, I had to leavr without being seen by the doctor. The facility has seem better days over several decades. It is awefully antiquated and not so clean. Their lame excuse was that they are busy, and so are we!!! Total disrespect to patients. When I showed up for an appointment that I made a month ago, I was told there was 7-8 patients ahead of me. I can understand the office can get busy or behind, but 7-8 patients ahead of me for a scheduled appointment ? Absurd. The inside was crowded, with the COVID-19, its agreed I will wait outside and they will call me. An hour later, I checked and was told they had phoned me twice and came out looking for me and didnt find me. I was sitting in the car directly 20 feet from the front door the whole time. Instead of offer me the next available spot, she said I can continue to wait and shell put me in as the very last patient of the day because there were 3-4 new patients came in since and they would be seen first. I was walking back to the car when my wife sent me a picture of the appointment card.2) Had my appointment for 3:00pm and was on time - waited until 5:30pm to see the Cornea Specialist.3) They sent me a statement due balance for $35 for an appointment that never happened. Ive been on the phone 32 minutes waiting for a representative to take my call...4) Their eye test equipment is miss-calibrated. I was seeing 20/20 on their test (incorrect) where the previous optometrists for the last 4 years had me at 20/40 (correct). Furthermore, their ophthalmologist admitted suspecting that something in their set up was off and that she raised the concern to her manager, but that her manager assured her that it was up to spec. California Eye Specialist, please listen to your ophthalmologist!

I had my eye cataract surgery from Dr. Shelton at California Eye Specialist on July 2021. Dr. Shelton suggested me to use Symfony Lens for my cataract with the cost of $3200 per each eye. My eye still cannot see clearly and I need wear reading glass; I cannot drive at nighttime because the astigmatism is very bad. It have been almost 2 years, California Eye Specialist cannot fix and take care my eye. I am not recommending anyone to have cataract eyes surgery with Symfony Lens at California Eye Specialist.

Been a patient at the Monrovia location for ten years . The SOME of doctors are great but office staff is an issue. They dont answer the phones . I called 45 minutes before closing time and no one picked up. The call just died. Then I was informed we are closed. What?! On the rare occasion they answer scheduling is excruciating & unpleasant. First, their system cant schedule enough in head of time. If you want morning, only evening are available...and vice versa PECULIAR. Then, they insist you see a different doctor everytime. Bad continuity!Last, desk staff must receive merit and recognition based on how sarcastic and dismissive they can be to the elderly, attitude is definitely not in short supply. Eye rolls, huffs and shuffling papers to ignore standing waiting patients are their best events.
