Dr. Brookman is amazing I’m so glad I waited for him to come back from his leave. Before surgery we talked and weeks later during the post op visit he remembered what I told him and took care of it. I know he is very busy and I’m grateful he remembered what I asked. Very impressed, he is very kind and makes you feel comfortable. This practice is definitely lucky to have Dr. Brookman

Can someone please call me to schedule my surgery? The voicemail mail says you’ve reached Hershey, Rosa’s ?? Rosa is the surgery coordinator for Dr Logan. When I call no one ever picks up, just rings until I get voicemail. I’ve left 5 messages over the last 4 business days. I call different times a day, no one answers. Still waiting for a call back to schedule surgery. Very poor service. Call me back! I can barely read what I’m writing. 😡

I took my mom here for her appointment. She received a Text message to check in and register her information 30 minutes prior to the day of her appointment. The staff should have sent it sooner or at least the day before the appointment. Since I care for her, I needed more time to register and gather all her medical information. Other then that, staff is professional and helpful. There’s plenty of free parking since they share space with other businesses. The seating area is space out and clean.

I received an email stating my charges for my visit will be starting at $275 for my contact exam on the following day. I called because in the past my insurance paid most of my eye exam including contact exam. The person that answered the phone stated best that was true. I didnt understand so the person put me on hold and double checked., came back to the phone and said my insurance dof a cover it. I stated so I pay nothing? They stated that was correct. So the next day I went to my appoint. I only wear contacts bbecause glasses give me headaches. I get called in they gave me all the pre eye tests that are normally done and have me remove my contacts. The Dr come in and proceeds to tell me th t the text I received was correct and the receptionist was incorrectand explains that if you look at my ins coverage it does say yes to covering my contacts, then show me some sort of loophole that shows this was deceiving. I will be paying $175. They knew prior my visit they were going to have this conversation with me because that is what the Dr began discussing with me. They knew I would have canceled my appointment yet they had me come in and complete pre testing, this is what my ins will cover. My time was wasted and now I have to figure this out sitting with the last pair of my contacts in my eyes and one of them I have been wearing for over a month. They are two week contacts.SHAME ON YOU AZULA VISION in Long Beach

Had an 8am appointment. No one arrived to even open the office until 8:12. Staff said good morning to a doctor at 8:15. Patients are expected to be on time, but office and staff can just show up whenever. Felt rushed through the scan of my eyes.

If I could offer 0 star, I would. We have been coming here for years and every time we come, its always at-least a 2 hour wait. I even have gone to the Downey or Huntington Beach location because they are more organized and get us in and out within the hour. This Long Beach location is just poorly managed. At one point, Dr. Knight started his own practice, and we followed him as my mom only could see a Retina Specialist. It was wonderful until Optum told us we had to go back to Atlantis because Dr. Knight was not in the Optum Network. They do not value our time at all and I have to take time off of work for just an eye follow up. My mother is 82 years old, blind in one eye, deaf and has dementia, so sitting at a Dr. Office for that long is wrong, tiring and really confusing for her. We went on Wednesday for an 8:15am appointment. The tech saw us right away and said that when the Dr. arrived, that she would be the 1st one. I said, you mean the Dr. is not even here? Correct, he gets in at 9am but dont worry, you booked the 1st appointment and he will see you 1st.. After I kept hearing more people get called, I asked front desk, why they have not called my mom.. She said that there were 4 people ahead of her.. So basically, they book 5 people for every 15 minute time slot and the doctor spends about 15 minutes or less with you, so that is why they are always behind.. This location is only about the money and clearly overbooking is their policy and not about the quality and care of the patients.. So, perhaps try to book another location or just know that you will be here for at-least 2 hours minimum.

Dr. Nguyen is great. My initial appointment was on January 10th with her and she was so knowledgeable. If I could rate just her, she’d get 5 stars. However, the optical department is an absolute joke. I was told that my contacts would be ready within a week of my follow up appointment which was February 1st, and that I’d receive a phone call to let me know when to come pick them up. Great. Three weeks pass and it’s now February 22nd and I have to follow up just to be put on hold for 15 minutes. Come to find out the contacts were “on back order,” but would be available the following Monday February 26th. Hmm… so no one could call to update me in those 3 weeks? And if the contacts were in fact on back order, how are we able to get them 3 days later? Someone clearly dropped the ball and forgot to place the order. Fast forward to today Wednesday February 28th when I go to pick them up. I ask the optician about the rebate, and she has the audacity to tell me that I need to hurry to get it done because it needs to be completed within 60 days of my appointment. Excuse me, Miss ma’am? My initial appointment was on January 10th. My contacts according to you should’ve been ready by February 9th at the latest. Make it make sense.

3rd visit and had an encounter with Eileen/Aileen to take measurements for my upcoming surgery. She asked if I had contact with Alejandra concerning the scheduling of my upcoming surgery and I asked “Was I supposed to contact her (Alejandra)” and Eileen proceeded to say well she (Alejandra) is out on vacation and she may call me when she returns. So I stated I wasn’t advised on my last visit when I set today’s appointment that I needed to reach out to anyone. At this point Eileen started becoming snarky in her responses, I stated that this office needs to get it together since this is the 2nd time I’ve had an issue. Eileen immediately took it personal and started stating “I don’t know how to do my job”…I replied to her I said “this office” and not her personally. She refused to listen to my point so I proceeded to exit the exam room and approached the front desk to ask to speak to the person in charge and to my dismay no one is around. I asked for them to reach out and I was told that they have no way to make contact. As someone who is part of management my staff know how to get a hold of me in case i’m needed. Thankfully Janna assisted me and was very thorough with my appointment and what the next steps are for me. I just want my procedure done as soon as possible so I can move on from this UNPROFESSIONAL establishment.UPDATE: since my last visit I get a reply to my review apologizing for the lack of service. Been trying to call for days and leaving messages for Alejandra (Surgery Coordinator) and yet here we are with endless calls from me to their office and still no call backs from anyone at this Loca. Very SAD!

Unfortunately the reception area was quite the opposite, this office clearly OVER BOOKS patients!, youll find that out real fast when you learn that 4 or 5 patients are ahead of you.. I had a 3:00 appointment, the Woman at the reception desk, (dont know her name) she was about 40, glasses, overweight and never smiles, she completely ignored me when I arrived at the desk to check-in, After 10 min of waiting I had to go to another girl to check me in, while waiting again, 3 other patients arrived with LATER appointment times and they were all quickly checked in by her and 2 were called in before me, when I asked her about it, she gave me a real attitude, citing Privacy policy, refusing to answer the question and raising her voice, repeating the same lame answer that no longer applied.. Why this office chose to hire such a miserable person whos incapable of treating patients fairly and dealing with them in a respectful manner, Ill never understand.

I have called today 4 times and they keep cutting me off. Horrible service the office canceled my appointment and now next appointment is till January. Tried the number online and that one doesn’t allow you to even push options so gives you recordings. Not the first time I have given bad reviews but another time I waited at least an hour to see my specialist and when he finally came to see me he gave me like 5 minutes of his time and takes off.

The doctor (Logan) is knowledgeable and skilled, and has good patient skills, but the clinic seems to always be about an hour behind schedule on the afternoon; resulting in considerable difficulties for my mother/patient, who has severe Alzheimers dementia, and has difficulty waiting an hour in a reception area without becoming physically and verbally agitated.

The problem isn’t the doctors or the staff, but the very unprofessional corporate office that denies care, cancels appointments without notifying patients, and no follow up on important medical issues. If you value you vision, choose any other practice, because they don’t care about their patients, and they deny you access to your care that their own doctors prescribe for you and that your insurance covers.

Dr Knight and the staff here are amazing. I get eye shots every month. They make the procedure experience as smooth and stress free as possible. I can now take a nap while waiting for anesthesia to take affect. I have been to the HB office for years and have only had one negative experience with a scheduled appointment that didnt get put in the computer. I recommend them to everyone

Stated they would initiate an out of network referral for a retinal specialist since they only have ONE and appointments are booked months out. When I followed up, they said the referral was denied, but when working with my insurance provider, discovered it was NEVER initiated! How unethical are these people??? Walked into the office and two workers were sitting at the computer, I stood there with no acknowledgement from either of them. Another person on the other side stated she could help me. My appointment was at 3:15 was not brought back to be serviced until 3:40. Decided to speak with a manager got supervisor Christina very pleasant and apologized my experience. Would speak with the employees to explain that all people should be acknowledged. I chose not to be serviced at this establishment due to being uncomfortable about how they treat some people.

Overbooking and taking advantage of the patients time and the doctors ability to be thorough and not rushed has got to stop!!!! I will be writing a personal letter to Dr. Dwayne Logan to express my concern about this issue. I will be posting my concerns on YELP. The publics time and concerns need to be taken into account. It is not just a profit center it is HEALTH CARE and it is not free for the patients. Decision makers of this business please fix this problem you have the means and power to do so.

I visited for eyes exam, the doctor was nice. Then I came to the optical section and finished everything, the technician told me around 2 weeks my glasses will be available, then they will call me. It is about the end of December, 2022. I picked up the glasses on January 2023. Somehow I didn’t know for what reason, I couldn’t read very well on a new glasses. I brought the glasses to the clinic, doctor checked again and give out new prescription. I came to optical section for the technician to adjust the lenses vision. I waited about 3 weeks but no one call me to get the glasses. I just about to call then a lady from that office called me and say “your glasses arrived but it had crash on the lense. She asked me if I wanted to take it. Oh no, how could I see with the crashing lense so I asked her to tell the lab technician to expedite for it because I need it. Then after 2 weeks I called to check, the technician said my one still on the lab. Today is March 8, 2023, I called again. She said that my glasses is still on the lab. I asked her why didn’t you tell them this is special because you or the lab made the glasses lenses scratching, you have responsible for it. She said not from her clinic then she blamed because of Covid, she blamed because of your lab’s insurance.I told her I went to many different clinics with the same insurance for many years but things never happened like this one and this clinic is my first one. I asked her “do you think I will come back” she said “you can go anywhere” just like she didn’t care.Overall, I started to see doctor for new pair of glasses around December, 2022 until now March 8 2023, I still can’t get my glasses. The technicians in the optical section do not care the customers and one important thing, the price very expensive compares with other clinics.

About 11:10 approached desk to inquire about delay, was initially told my appt. would take 1n1/2 hour, sat down again! About 11:30 approached desk again n was told there were 2 more people ahead of me!!!!! Bottom line I never saw the doctor, have never had the experience of having an appt., almost 1 hour delay, no explanation, apology, treated like it was business as usual!! I arrived at 3:15 for a 3:20 appointment with the ophthamologist. I had previously filled out their questionaire on line. i was seen at 3:35 by a tech who performed 2 test and dialated my eyes. i then waited over an hour before I had to leave without seeing the doctor. Extremely poor service. Over booked, very loud and disorganized. More like a crowded emergency room. Very disppointing referral from Cigna. Since Optum took over for Health Net the overall quality has suffered. The referrals in Optum’s network are a sigificant downgrade. I can only think this is cost cutting . Not a normal doctors office experience. No one should have to wait over an hour for a scheduled appointment and not get seen. The office offered no communication. I asked for an update and was basically ignored. My time is just as valuable as any doctor. Poorly run place. I can not recommend this place. All you heard were very loud appointments being made. Obviously no doctor or not enough doctors were there. They did not know why I was there, even though it was a referral, confirmed appoinment, and I filled out the questionaire on line. The receptionist did not know how to access the computer. Eyeglass store in the middle of a doctors office? It did not seem like anyone know what they were doing or cared. I have asked Cigna for a different referral.

So far, I were in this office 3 times and I was treated with all respect and care during each visit. The front desk staff and MAs, technicians were EXCELLENT in customer service by being friendly and care. They even went around and checked on almost each patient who was waiting in the lobby to make sure we were OK and offered water bottle to each of us. A little kindness can cause huge impact and the staff did. Dr. Myles Brookman was an exceptional physician with knowledge and the best bedside manner. Dr. Logan was very busy but attentive and easy to go. Dr. Tran was very enthusiastic and care. My family and I work in the field. In fact, we see patients every day in hospitals and at our own outpatient clinic. I can see Atlantis Eyecare Long Beach has tried hard to serve their clients. I wish every one there the best and keep doing this excellent service as you are.

Was told in July that the cataract surgery would not be until September - which seemed a rather long time - and then when I heard ZIP from them I finally called today (the 12th of September) only to find out that the surgery was now scheduled for December 28! They have always provided good service. However, having retired recently I had to change to a new insurance plan after coming here annually for 15 years. So come to find out my new plan doesn’t pay anything for contacts. So they told me I needed to pay full price. You would think that after all these years and finally losing insurance coverage that they would at least be able to give some kind of good customer discount, but no they are not willing to give up that big markup I am sure they charge. Where is the customer appreciation and retention strategy? So I will take my prescription and all future orders elsewhere where they may be more customer ( senior) friendly.

I took my uncle in for a cataract consult with Dr. Logan. He was very nice and he greeted us with a huge smile. He gave us a little background story about him and asked us to tell him a little about us which made us feel at ease with him. He then explained the surgery process and options available for my uncle. Which was nice to know there was opinions and he didnt pressure us at all. Even told us to go home think about it and if we had any questions to give him a call again. My uncle was very scared about the surgery but Dr. Logan gave him the break down and also told us there was nothing to worry. I waited in the waiting room until they called my name only to have them tell me that the doctor went out to lunch isnt that ironic! I just return home from the second appointment and they have a policy if you do not show up no later than 10 minutes from your appointment time you have to reschedule. We were referred here for retina and cataract appt because there was no doctors in OC with this specialty. We made appointments weeks in advance and check in 15 minutes before like they said. No visitors or intepreters allowed inside. My mother waited for an hour after her appointment time for dilation and was told there was no room available which is why she had not been passed to a room. She waited for another 30 minutes to be actually seen by this specialist. By far this is the worst location with lack in coordination, communication and over booking.We will not be coming to this location after todays visit. Today I came in for a exam at Atlantis Eyecare. The assistant Jana was very kind and explained the examination process that I was going to receive. The appointment began with a retelling of the medical events leading up to this visit and the results of the latest procedure, PRK. I voiced my discontent, disappointment and discomfort with the results of the latest procedure, (PRK). I mentioned that Dr. Logan did NOT tell me I would lose my near vision with the slightly improved distance clarity surgery. In fact, I told her, he said my near vision would improve. From the first visit and every visit thereafter, I stressed the importance of being able to read music. I let him and each of his associates that met with me know from day one that I did not want to wear corrective lenses. I repeated that at every pre and post op appointment.Dr. Le was pleasant and professional. She tested my far vision in both eyes as well as other standard physical eye tests. She did not however, check on near vision (using a handheld card), which Dr. Logan would routinely do.Regarding the discomfort and gooey morning eye, she suggested that I apply some drops which she provided.She offered me two follow up options - to see Dr. Logan to determine whether anything could be done to improve my near vision with further procedures, and the other to see her again to be examined for corrective lenses. I opted to see her. An appointment date and time was set.

My experience with the staff once I went to pick my glasses was NOT great, they are rude and rushed me to pick my glasses because they were ready to go home. In addition, I could not see clear because they dilated my eyes, so it was hard to pick my glasses. She did a standard measurement when I specifically told her that I have had all that done. I’ve been a patient here for about 20 years. But this time I noticed that something has definitely changed. I was pleasantly surprised to see smiling faces greeting me making me feel at home when I checked in for my appointment. I could get very irritated if I’m not seen within 15 minutes of my appointment time but the office manager was very pleasant in explaining to patients in the waiting area that today’s clinic is running a little behind and offered us water or self service coffee making us feel at home. Dr. Logan is top notch, caring and genuine. That is why I’ve been putting up with subpar customer service from the office staff, like the rude customer service you get from most fast food places these days except for In-N-Out or Chick-Fil-A. Atlantis Eyecare has definitely become a Chick-Fil-A in customer service(patient care). Good job!!!

Wait time is minimal...i noticed walk-ins and Atlantis took care of them right away so thats a plus...ive been here a couple of times and each occasion I was taken care of with minimal problems....its local which is a plus

Satisfied with their services. Emily, the Eyecare doctor assistant, who did the pre-routine tests and paperwork prior to seeing the Optometrist lady doctor, is a perpetual motion efficient worker. So is the young Asian lady optomtrist, very congenial, professional and thorough. Has always gone to this Long Beach office branch for eye-related concerns and checkups.

I attempted to schedule an appointment for an eye exam. When they answered the phone, they didnt even ask me anything other than can you hold?I was on hold for more than 30 minutes without a single person coming on the line to apologize for the delay. I hung up, and they lost a customer.I didnt read the other reviews beforehand, but its clear that nothing has changed.
