The ambiance was lovely. Great lighting and music on the rooftop.The chips and guac were so good… I’m still thinking about them.The date and spinach salad was really enjoyable.The service was attentive and friendly.Well be back next time were in Palm Springs!

The drinks were really good. Servers were friendly but service was slow. Food was meh for the price. It’s a beautiful place so if you have time and aren’t in a rush, I recommend going for a drink. They also charge if you ask for extra chips despite the ratio of chips to guacamole being very off. Chips and guacamole are good though.

Great place in central Palm Springs. Soft, chill, and fantastic roof terrace. We just had a drink this time, but we will be back. A must is their Bloody Orange Margarita. So fresh and fantastic flavors.

We have been to this restaurant many times, as we live in Palm Springs, and after having dinner here last night, I had to update my review. (which was previously 5 stars)The restaurant has changed hands and is now under new management with a new chef. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has suffered. Our entrees were not well presented, seemed small in terms of portions, and really were not that enjoyable. The stuffed Pablano pepper used to be my favorite thing on the menu, but now it’s terrible.I’m hoping that some constructive and critical reviews will inspire this restaurant to bring back the excellent quality of their entrees and appetizers.I can say that Jose, the restaurant manager, was absolutely amazing and did his best to be sure that we had an enjoyable time with our friends. We discussed the decreased quality of the menu items with him, and he appreciated our input and honesty.We can’t recommend this restaurant to our friends for now, but maybe in the future they will improve.If you decide to try this restaurant, be sure to make a reservation and ask for the upstairs outdoor seating.They also have indoor seating, and additional outdoor seating downstairs by the pool.There are two bars, both upstairs and downstairs, but if you decide to stop here for a drink, definitely go upstairs.

So unless this place is fairly new I must say I’m shocked it only has been reviewed 210 times. A hidden gem inside of this hotel and you leave the place thankful you found it. The ambiance was perfect, the service was as hospitable as one loves it to be and the food was delicious. There is a downstairs indoor and outdoor eating area beside the pool and upstairs you are outdoors on the roof with a fireplace going. Lovely feel top to bottom.

We started by having a really nice experience. Our server was very nice took our order for drinks and starters. Came back to check if we were ordering anything else, took our order and brought us our second rounds of drinks. A while goes by, no one comes back to check in on us. People were all leaving, and the people who arrived after us received their meals. Our server was with the other 3 servers behind the bar. Never once came to check on us after putting our order in. Starts to walk to another table, looked at us and realized we never got our meals and goes “oh my god the kitchen is taking forever” and we could see her run back and put our order in. Another 20 or so minutes goes by and she says “I’m sorry this is taking long, we have a wedding” at this point, there was 1 other table with 2 people, and the hotel guests by the pool. She kept making excuses and blaming everyone else but herself for forgetting to put our order in. When we finally get our order, she gives my husband something different and asked him to eat this for now because they’re still working on his original order. Overall, food was pretty good and the restaurant is gorgeous, but the service from our waitress was completely unacceptable. We understand that mistakes happen, and do our best to never complain but don’t blatantly lie to us about it.

Came for my bachelorette party dinner, had reserved a table on the rooftop. Upon arriving was told the rooftop was closed due to lack of servers. Very disappointed by this given we only wanted to come here for the views on the rooftop. Manager offered to give us a free round of drinks and to have them on the rooftop at the end of our dinner. After we ordered the drinks they said they would not be free and we were charged for them. Very disappointed in the experience and customer service. Would not come back.

This is the most California place ever. I was really torn between the Dinner options. One was Carrots topped with Carrot Dust for $32. I ended up with the Mushroom dinner which would have been a nice app or perhaps a dinner if it had any protein. It was also the first place I have ever been to with a fee for Kitchen Appreciation. What would be appreciated is getting more than Carrots with Carrot Dust for $32. Atmosphere was very nice and staff was very nice. But seriously add some protein to your side dishes you call a meal or make them Tapas.

Come here if you have some money and time to waste! And if you would like to get your teeth coloured for free.Food is mediocre and outrageously expensive! It was a Christmas fixed menu with 2 dishes + dessert per person. For 2 people, in total, $207.58 with tax! The biggest joke was the following commentary:They were serving prime ribs only with 2 doneness levels: “rare” and “well-done”. I asked for the “rare” prime rib. Later, they informed me that they ran out of the “rare” ones and were left only with the remaining “well-done” ones. How…?(I mean, personally speaking, I’m neither a chef nor a talented cook. But since they are making their food in advance, wouldn’t it make sense just to cook ALL prime ribs as “rare” in advance and later cook them to “well-done” once a few individuals order “well-done”? Isn’t this just common sense?)I’m giving one extra star for nice mussels dish and for nice side dishes that came with my leather-hard “well-done” prime rib.Desserts were very mediocre. Taste wise, a cupcake from Walmart tastes better than the “Christmas tree” cupcake we were served. Cheesecake was alright.Service was subpar. I’m giving one extra star to the nice, elderly lady server. I wish I gave all of my tip only to her :(((Atmosphere was good. Nice mix of art and modernity.There’s NO WAY this restaurant is 4.2 stars. Celebrated my husbands birthday on the gorgeous rooftop of Azucar.The ambiance is stunning and the vibe is great!They were able to take us a little early for our reservation which I really appreciated.Service was a little slow, but our waitress was the only person working upstairs and working hard!! She made great recommendations, took our picture and was extremely friendly!We started with the spicy melon margarita (omg, so smooth and delicious) and the blood orange margarita (also fantastic).The truffle fries were excellent. I was hoping to order the ahi bruschetta after reading reviews, but sadly it was off the menu.My husband enjoyed the crab stuffed poblano peppers which had some heat and a nice amount of crab stuffing.At our servers recommendation, I had the chefs pasta and added shrimp. Outstanding! The sauce had so much flavor and a nice presentation.Great way to celebrate a birthday!

I was super disappointed with my experience here all around. I ordered the pasta at dinner and it tasted about the same as Noodles & Company buttered noodles. Apps were good not great and same for the drinks. The vibe is really cool but there are so many “influencers” taking up space trying to get the right picture, distracting the waiters asking them to take pics, getting too close to people’s tables, etc. that it’s super distracting and really ruined the whole experience for me. Service was so-so. My boyfriend got the steak and loved his meal.

Had dinner here for when in town for a bachelorette and we were AMAZED. Every single person went out of their way to constantly make our experience as magical and memorable as possible. We arrived and the gentleman we checked in with who I’m assuming is the manager immediately offers to take our photo in front of the pool because it was “perfect lighting”. He took multiple incredible photos. Then we go upstairs to our table that is so cute and are greeted by our waiter. He provided incredible recommendations and also gave us recommendations and safety tips for going out afterwards. The fresh blood orange and watermelon margaritas were the most delicious I have ever had. All the food was incredible! The wait staff actually thanked us while keeping the table clean throughout the meal. We mentioned we getting cold in passing to each other and a gentleman immediately pulled over a heater and turned it on for us. I cannot say enough how incredible each person we interacted with was. I would highly recommend anyone dine here whenever you can. Truly a magical evening and as a group of girls we greatly appreciated the safety tips.

Luxurious and calm restaurant/hotel. Upscale and intimate. The watermelon margarita is very refreshing. The guacamole, salsa and corns chips were very delicious and refreshing for the Palm Springs heat. The chefs penne pesto pasta was absolutely mouthwatering. The feta cheese on top made it perfect. The cauliflower pesto risotto was a sheer delight. So flavorful. Youll want more. The surf and turf was delicious.

This is the first negative review I have ever left. I dined here for a bachelorette party. Before the dinner they asked us to sign a contract so we were essentially locked in to a set gratuity. Maybe this should’ve been our first red flag. We experienced absolutely inexcusable service, especially when considering the cost of the menu. The servers were hard to come by despite the restaurant being only partially filled, and when they did come around, they gave bare minimum efforts (for example would fill up only a few people’s empty glasses and would not return to fill up the remainder, or had to be asked multiple times to bring more chips or to take an order). What’s more, our food was undercooked (or even raw for some). Because we were celebrating, no one wanted to destroy the energy of our night; thus, we just muscled through our 1000 dollar dinner. It was a slow grind to the end of the experience and was one I will never return or recommend for anyone to experience. I’ve tried contacting the manager multiple times to address our concerns, but I have heard crickets. Please please go elsewhere!!!

We found Azucar on our recent trip to Palm Springs and had an amazing experience. The restaurant is tucked inside La Serena Villas right behind the pool. We had the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus which had a great spread of items to dip in the hummus. The Watermelon Margarita was my favorite drink of the entire trip with the tequila, watermelon puree, and the ground chili rim combining for an extremely unique flavor. I had the Dungeness Crab Stuffed Poblano Pepper which was packed with flavor. Overall, a fantastic experience in a unique atmosphere.

This was one of my favorite nights during a 7 day stay in Palm Springs. The hotel grounds and restaurant are both beautiful and eye catching and the food and drinks were very good. Its mostly American food with a Mexican twist. The scallops and polenta I had were delicious.

We had brunch there this weekend, and it was extremely disappointing for the price. I ordered the “Azucar Breakfast” which included “ 2 eggs your style, half avocado, roasted tomato, blistered peppers, mixed greens, tortilla” for $17. What you received was 2 unseasoned, bland eggs. A pile of wilted “mixed greens”, topped with a quarter of a non-roasted tomato. I had to coat the whole breakfast in salsa just to give it some flavor. It was pathetic for the price, you could get a more flavorful breakfast at McDonald’s. The only positive was the aesthetic of the restaurant for pictures…

Worst brunch in Palm Springs ! Overpriced abs food was horrible. How can they offer a Mexican brunch with chilaquiles, huevos rancheros and they don’t even make an authentic salsa, the rice was nasty plain and sticky, chilaquiles were like chips and can salsa. Caesar salad was not a Caesar salad. Dressing was water down ranch. Guacamole had no taste. The only good thing was the yucca frita and the drinks. Margaritas were really good. If you love customer service and not care about gastronomy, then this is the place. I loved the customer service and views. It’s a hotel too, so the decorations and outdoor, rooftop patio were very nicely decorated and the lightning was perfect. But if you’re going here for *Mexican food, I would not recommend. The margaritas were so small and not well made. The food had just two Mexican items and not authentic. The guac and salsa were sadly tasteless and not spicy. I didn’t enjoy the food and it was expensive. It’s a beautiful place and they’re nice and welcoming though.*Update: The restaurant name is misleading. The owner just told me that this place serves American food. Try it yourself and be your own food judge.

Fresh. Bright. Beautiful. Amazing flavors, gorgeous atmosphere, genuinely friendly service. This is a must if you’re a local or a tourist. My favorite brunch in Palm Springs no matter how many times I eat here - I’m always pleasantly surprised. Also, they let us bring our small (and well behaved) dogs. New chic restaurant inside La Serena Villas, surreptitiously located behind the pool area. Well prepared farm-to-table Mediterranean fare. We didnt have a reservation but were accommodated at the bar which was a great experience because of our outstanding bartender Rob, a real pro... friendly, knowledgeable and a pleasure to watch. Food was excellent, standouts include the watermelon salad and perfectly cooked filet mignon. While the drink was removed from the bill (only because I asked) no one tried to rectify- no apology, not offer to remake the cocktail, not offer to replace the cocktail.The food was not great. 10/10 I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone I know. Staff is amazing, drinks, food, atmosphere. To start off we had no reservations for Azúcar, they gladly took us in on a busy night, got us seated and provided drinks right away. The blood Orange margarita is my favorite and I could drink all night. Food was finger licking good! We ended the night by going yo the rooftop and drinking a bit more. The rooftop atmosphere was nice as well as the servers attitude. Firstly, our host sat us with the wrong dinner menus, secondly our server recommended food items that were no longer on the menu, and lastly our food was no fresh at all and paying for overpriced food is definitely not justified. We ordered the pollo blanco chicken, it was hard and not fresh at all and it was served just chicken by itself with no sides at all for $36. The salmon plate was most likely microwaved and not fresh and also costed $38. Overall this place is not what it is hyped to be for $100 dollar dinner.

I can’t say enough about this place. Every morsel was delicious. The decor is outstanding! I want to pitch a tent and live in the restaurant amid the cool art and lovely tiles. Upstairs has an awesome fireplaces and lovely views, downstairs you can eat poolside or in the awesome Frida room. Order everything - but especially the cauliflower risotto.

I came here on valentines 2024, I’m writing this review as I am on my way to in n out because the food was terrible and Over priced it was “fixed menu “ you couldn’t even pay me to come back here service was horrible. My boyfriend and I were served by Emilio who had lack of empathy as we sent back every plate untouched because of how horrid the food was. Our server even tried to over charge us $65 on drinks we had already paid for at the bar and didn’t even sincerely apologize. $185 for bad food after he removed the extra $65 charge he was trying to add /: . He didn’t once ask if anything was wrong with our food even though we made a comment saying it wasn’t good at all. This place has a lot of potential but the new owners have dimmed its spark that it once had with Kelly & Lars “pre- owners”.. The person who initially greeted us (manager or host?) was great and shared a nice story. I thought it would turn out well from that nice exchange. The wait staff was meh, the busser was chill. The food had excellent flavors but was promptly ruined by a team influencers decending upon us with their spy drones. Not a single person flying the drones or the management asked for our consent or anyones consent to be filmed... The atmosphere was terrible for spending 180 dollars on a meal that was stressful. Despite our groups unwavering politeness and quiet disappointment, it was disheartening to witness the unprofessional conduct of the staff.Its evident that Azucar caters exclusively to a specific demographic – bachelorette party groups with disposable incomes, more interested in capturing photo ops amidst the trendy decor downstairs than in enjoying a substantive and enjoyable dining experience.Save your time and money for establishments that truly understand the art of delivering a memorable dining experience.

Its a beautiful poolside restaurant thats part of a resort. It has a smaller, very chill area downstairs, and a larger upstairs patio. During our week-long stay in Palm Springs, we found no place with better cocktails. The food was fantastic as well, but the cocktails were stunning. Also, the service. Our lunch one day ended up taking a little longer than usual because of a large party upstairs, and they brought us a complementary appetizer to apologize for the wait. I was truly impressed.

Worst experience in all of Palm Springs. Not only was the food sub par, but Im highly upset that we stayed for the experience. My steak was so over cooked that my knife bounced and fell off my plate.No one in my group was happy with their entre. We also had so much mixed up between our drink orders.We all agreed that the potato mash was amazing.Sadly I didnt pay for the meal...but I would have asked for comps. It’s extremely evident that this place relies more on aesthetics and atmosphere than quality and service. I think it’s catering to only bachelorette parties who don’t know any better — girlies, save your money for a place that isn’t an overpriced and overhyped tourist trap. We had a table of 4 booked for last nights Independence Day on the roof terrace at 6.45pm. We arrived slightly early and the reception, greet staff and host were all very professional and friendly. Not sure I am a huge fan of the walk past the pool and hotel guests but if no alternative route it is what it is. We were shown to our table and the server came over introducing himself as Michael.After perusing drinks we settled on 2 Santa Monica White beers, to be told I probably dont have those will an alternate suffice (for us both this just sends out a negative), check firstly then inform us you dont have it. Michael, before leaving once again introduced himself and returned to say we dont have the beer, we decided to stick with water until friends arrived, Michael as he left the table once again stated my name is Michael we both thought 3 times in 3 minutes was a little much so we pointed out this to him.Friends arrived and we ordered drinks, drinks returned cucumber martini nice flavors but not alot of alcohol for $14.We ordered hummus and pitas to share followed by Cauliflower Risotto, Shaved Brussel Sprouts, House Salad and Ahi Bruschetta. Entrees were Escolar, Crab Stuffed Poblano and 2 x Beef Tenderloin 1 very rare and the other Med Rare. A friend asked what Escolar was we informed him it was a meaty white fish, to which Michael interjected it was Swordfish like. Escolar, Rudderfish or Butterfish isnt like that nor would ever be, certainly a training issue there in relation to the menu.Personally my shaved sprouts and beef tenderloin were flavorful and cooked correctly. My partners Risotto and Escolar were again cooked well and tasted good. Friends ahi was superb but the Poblano not very tasty - cheese and crab and a little sloppy??? House salad was good, but then the Med-Rare Tenderloin came out WELL DONE. It got refired but by the time it was returned three of us had finished our entrees and we had to sit and watch our friend eat - kinda kills the Independence Day party vibe.Our server didnt apologise but another brunette lady did and offer us complimentary dessert to make up for the mistake. We ordered the brownies which were not that good. Time to get the check, all the desserts were on there and so we checked and 2 got removed. We then said that we were lead to believe all 4 were compd but were told I can only do 2, eventually the other 2 got removed. Total bill $310 plus tip.In my opinion when you look at the all round experience of what shouldve been a special night with friends, it was spoilt by very poor service, poor communication and poor execution by the kitchen. I personally feel, if it was just for my food wouldve given 4/5 but coupled with the whole experience it warrants 3/5. There are other places in the area at a similar pricepoint that I feel offer a superior all round dining experience.SIDE NOTEEscolar cannot metabolize the wax esters naturally found in its diet. These esters are called gempylotoxin, and this is what gives the flesh of escolar its oily texture. It was overall a mixed experience. We were welcomed by Jose who made us feel athome in seconds. The rooftop bar is nice and has a great view of the mountains but cocktails at $20 each are overpriced. The food was nice but it took a very long time to arrive (probably close to 1 hour). When presented with the check, we asked to split it in 3 but not evenly, as two of us were paying with the same card and we were told it was not possible. A 20% gratuity was already included and we asked to take it out as we wanted to leave a different amount but the annoyed waiter told us they could not do that. Extremely happy with the food on our first visit. We had the halibut ceviche, tuna tartar, my partner had the surf and turf and I had the vegetable stuffed poblano. Ended with the mango sorbet. I dined here with some friends for lunch, and it was really disappointing. The waitstaff and bar staff saved the day, they were amazing, but otherwise it didn’t stand out as a place that I, nor anyone else in my party, would return to. It shouldn’t take that long for a salad, an order of tacos, and three orders of lettuce wraps to come to the table. Everything changed when the GM stopped by the table. She chatted us up, but once the food finally arrived, she told us that we had to leave the table within about 20 minutes, as she had another reservation, but we were welcome to continue to sit at another table and have cocktails. She made no secret of blaming everyone but herself for her poor management, and went as far as to excuse herself from the table to go fire “the new guy out back”.That was kind of shocking and very inappropriate, I don’t think that any member of our party will ever be back. The food was also bad, but I would have been more forgiving if the GM hadn’t been so nasty. I had a lettuce wrap- the chicken was over cooked and flavorless, and the lettuce “wrap” was so soggy that it couldn’t even hold the contents. Palm Springs has far better options, don’t waste your time here.

I was part of a group of 5. I called to make a reservation and when I told them the groups size I learned Id have to fill out a Googledoc. document to make the reservation. I had difficulty, Im not an IT guy but I know my way around, with the form. I couldnt save it so I filled out online, print, hand sign, scan and email it back. I asked for the manager so I could remind him of my conversation and told her as much. She left, came back and said, follow me upstairs please.Our server, Rachel, appeared shortly to welcome us.... . She was great!!! She was very attentive, pleasant and the other reason Azucar got 3 stars.The menu was very interesting but priced high (but so isnt everyplace else). The food was very expensive, very slow in arriving and when it was finally brought the temp was tepid at best. Wed all been waiting so long we all accepted it as was. It got chilly and we asked for the heaters to be turned on. Our server apologized but explained that theyd run out of propane and would a blanket be alright? How do you have outdoor dining and run out of what runs the heaters? When she finally did seat us, it was because she asked another party to vacate their table to accommodate guests who were either “hungry or hangry” and pointed at us. Definitely killed the ambiance for both us and them!As a group who has previously worked in the service industry, we recognize there are polite ways to accommodate overbooking a dinner service or having guests staying at a table 2-3 hours when you have subsequent reservations for it, in which the guests still feel respected and welcomed.

There were several areas that did not meet our expectations: they insist the salmon is wild however according to google it is raised in Pens in the ocean - hence farmed. Upon arriving the host was overwhelmed by a sparsely populated restaurant. When we were told we’d be seated upstairs, I asked if it was cold and he replied that they had heaters. Upon arriving at the table the heaters were not working and we received a less than sincere apology. We arrived at 7pm and our food arrived after 9:00, well two entrees were delayed with the explanation that the kitchen was overwhelmed. The missing entrees arrived after the others were done eating so not a great experience. Taking 50 percent off the two late entrees seemed to be a halfhearted attempt to fix a ruined evening. There are better places for food and service in PS so don’t waste your time or money at this place.

Had lunch today, reservation for 1pm. My friend loved the ambiance. She had fish tacos, I had chicken salad. I barely made it home only to be violently ill. Obviously it was food poisoning. I called at 2:58 to alert them, young lady said manager had just stepped out, but shed call me back. About 90 minutes later I followed up with a text hoping they would at least stop serving that salad. Now its 6:52 pm....no acknowledgement. Gave it 1 star because my friend liked it, she doesnt know how sick Ive been.Nope Azucar you dropped the ball on all countsViolently Ill means I vomited 3 times, now have aching ribs.Bernadine Dufour

Incredible food + cocktails and really wonderful service. The bartender Manny assured me it was not safe to walk alone to rite aid as a single woman and offered to pick up what I needed and drop it off at my hotel. So above and beyond .

Had lunch with friends there a few weeks back. Food is excellent. Venue is beautiful. Keeping it from a 5 star is the number of menu choices (enough but not for everyone) and its a bit on the pricey side (but not extravagant). Id go again.

We were greeted by a host and hostess, hostess proceeded to escort us through the restaurant to meet the party that we were invited by. The waitress took our orders and even received the appetizers. We were then greeted by the manager. The manager was like i dont know if anyone told you, but its everywhere on our website, this is a 21 and up establishment. Told us we could stay if our baby would not make a sound so it doesnt bother customers. REALLY??? We stayed for about 5 more minutes to look up the restaurant and no where does it say 21 and up on the website. the couple who we were meeting, who were also getting married that weekend, felt terrible and expressed nobody said anything to them when they made reservations. My husband and I left, passed by the many staff who could have told us it was 21 and up, instead would rather embarrass us. My husband even stopped the hostess to ask her why she didnt tell us instead of letting us in. And she was like Oh yeah, I forgot. We are not opposed to 21 and up establishments, but they should have stopped us from the very beginning instead of humilating us in front of people. The way it was all handled was inappropriate, humiliating, and just rude. Nobody wanted to take ownership of their responsibilities. So FAMILIES, BE AWARE. This is NOT a family friendly restaurant. After continuously resesrching the website, the only way you would know its 21 and up is if you actually go to the hotel website, not the restsurant, and click on booking. So even on the hotel website it doesnt say 21 and up anywhere unless you click on booking. Its really misleading. My sister called to report a complaint and nobody followed up.

We ordered the Ahi Bruschetta and watermelon salad to start with. Very delicious mix of flavors in both dishes, where savory meets sweet in the salad and the Ahi was so fresh and tasty. The entrees ordered were the Salmon and Scallops. Salmon was great, and the risotto below the salmon was perfect! The Scallops were very tasty as well. And they are JUMBO, for sure 😋😋
