This was my first time not utilizing a local mortgage broker for financing. I was nervous but so glad I ended up using Axos Bank. I got the info of Axos Bank through Lending Tree. I was contacted by my Loan Officer Uriel and right from the very first step I was educated about the mortgage process and expectations were laid out very clearly. I was able to secure a loan almost 2 percentage points lower than the closest local mortgage broker with no points. I had no idea what points on a loan were until Uriel explained it to me and am grateful that he helped me understand all the different terms used in a mortgage process. I was able to make a much better informed decision. Look forward to working with Uriel and Axos Bank in the future.

Mark Connor worked with us as a Mortgage Loan Officer. He was very professional, friendly and always took his time to explain and take us through the process, every step of the way. When we were in doubt, he had a way of reassuring us that everything will go well. I was very impressed when he called us after closing to personally congratulated us. He is very approachable and amiable, and I would recommend him anytime, anyday.

Signed up with them because there was a promotion. Didnt even end up qualifying for it and the experience has been bad. half the time you cant login to the app. The mobile deposit doesnt work. only provide support from 9-5 in a specific time zone.

This bank is horrible about protecting its users. Yeah it may block and alert of fraudulent use. Downside it takes 3-6 months to get reimbursed for fraud. If they block your card prepare not to have access to your account for 7-10 business days. They do not offer a digital card. It’s hard to talk to anyone about issues. If you can understand the staff, they only read off cue cards so prepare to hear the same response no matter what you say. Absolutely no concern about there users. Try another bank if you want better results from on online bank!

Applied for a small business bank account. After going through their process to get approved, was told by my relationship manager that we would be approved by the end of the day. That was a week ago. Ive sent multiple emails to my relationship manager, as well as left voicemails and sent multiple messages through Axoss online messaging system for the application. Absolutely NO response from anyone.As of now I still have no idea why my application is still pending. At the very least, if they are going to reject it the least they could do is tell me or mark my application as declined, but its still listed as pending and I cannot get a hold of anyone to help me understand what is still needed and why it wasnt approved when they said it would be. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. Wouldnt recommend them at all.

Closed my account and reported me to chexxx systems illegally. Given me the run around for years when i request my bank statements. Im now being audited with no access to bank my bank records……when you call and get the offshore people in in dia. They tell you they cant transfer you to a manager on shore. It’s a lie. Worst bank to get an auto loan from. Thier system is very outdated and difficult to pay your loan. Not to mention there is not an option to pay more to help pay down the principle. I never want to deal with them again.Adding to review since AXOS reply...Today, I tried to call. I have had plenty of attempts from 7 am til 4:30 pm. I have left dozens of vocie mails. I have been banking with Axos since before the rebrand when it was Bank of Internet USA, and I have relied on them for home financing three times now. Each time has been a pleasant experience with the best rates and lowest lender fees out there. This time around, I / we were assisted by Jarrett Carbone and we couldnt have asked for anyone better as he was extremely responsive and informative throughout the entire process. Absolutely horrible customer support via foreign call centers. Closed my account with no warning and issued a check via us mail that will likely take a week to arrive. In the meantime, I have to beg for money to purchase insulin because my electronic payment to CVS was declined (this is how I learned the account was closed). All they would tell me is they reserve the right to close any account at any time for any reason or without reason with no warning required. So I have no reason, no bank account, and no money. Decide for yourself.Edit: 01 May 2024 - Thank you for the reply. I stated your account policy in my original post. I received no warning, and it took nearly 14 days to receive my funds. As a result, I had no money at all for food or medication including insulin.

Axos was ok with my mortgage until I had an insurance claim and I deposited the money from the insurance company into my Axos account, as required by the insurance company. Then Axos proceeded to hold on to the money for over half a year, paying me no interest. Either their staff is shockingly incompetent, or it is an intentional policy to hold on to the money as long as possible. They send me one message per day, asking for some piece of information I have already sent them. I called their loan processing department and they confirmed they can see all of the documentation, but the funds are still not being released, and I am still getting the one message per day from their representative, Sandeep, asking for something that is already there. It has wasted an enormous amount of my time and the contractors are very angry that they are not getting paid for the work they completed.

Warning extremely bad customer service, and worst bank you can bank with I have been trying to close my account for almost 2yrs..I told them close the account I dont care about the money ($2) after having to pay off a whole bunch of fees. They say I need to add another bank account first to close the account... Do not bank with them, the banking process (applying to open a business account) from start to finish was hell...I guess they are keeping it open to add to customer count...

If I could rate them 0 stars I would. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone at all!!! The representatives are very rude and talk over you when trying to explain reason for delinquency. When I asked for a supervisor I was hung up on. It’s very frustrating to call back and explain everything over and over. They call non stop everyday at least 10 times even after right party contact. One person told me well ma’am you past due and can’t make a payment I’m not stopping calls.

This bank is AWFUL!!!! The small business banking is always down. Spent 20 minutes on the phone with the 1st rep that changed my password and I kept telling the idiot it wasnt working, then after about another 2-3 minutes oh, I see. This is a problem with maintenance, but we dont know when itll be up, but keep checking back. Called back 10 hours later, spoke with another rep, that I could barely understand, took me through all the checks even after I told her it was a business account, then after several minutes, oh, you will need to call back in the morning, the system is done. I asked isnt this for business accounts? Thats what the automated system took me through and the number. She goes ohhhhh no, this is for personal. Trust me, go anywhere else.

I just refinanced my home in Brooklyn with Axos bank and also got a new loan for an apartment in Miami Beach. The experience was great and Kelly Lord was very helpful on every step. DO NOT USE THIS BANK FOR ANYTHING!!! I am a little over $2195 from paying off my car loan which I have never missed a payment on with the exception of taking off 3 payments during Covid as I lost my job and was fully aware I would have to make the payments at the end of the loan. My loan was set to mature in October, before I made my normal payment I called to make sure I could continue to make my normal payment and NOT have to payoff the loan in full. The representative was very polite and told me that it will not be a problem and I went ahead and made my payment long before the Oct. 29 due date. Now I am receiving nasty letters, phone calls and my requests to speak with Management in order to resolve this matter is falling on deaf ears. I cannot begin to verbalize my frustration and the absolute horrific service I am receiving. You would think that I am behind by months and I am trying to get away with something. I am NOT EVEN 30 PAST DUE FROM THE LAST PAYMENT DATE! This institution is being run like a loan shark banker and I am sure the powers that be would not appreciate the way clients are being treated. DO NOT USE THIS INSTITUTION!!! I EVEN JUST TRIED TO PAY OFF THE LOAN IN FULL AND THEY WOULD NOT REVERSE THE $109 LATE CHARGE FOR THE ACCOUNT TO BE PAID IN FULL!!! Just read the reviews people!!!!Originally this bank had good customer service. Now it appears they farmed out their customer service to India or pakistan and service is horrendous!!I can no longer see any pending transactions on my account. That means when physical checks are sent there is no trace of these payments until they are debited from my account. This caused me to create duplicate payments and now theyre telling me Im going to have to pay $10 a piece to put stops on them. So youre going to charge me $ 20 for your mistake? I dont think so. I have called multiple times. Ive spoken to multiple customer service agents and their accents are so thick that I cannot understand what theyre saying. Theyre not allowed to transfer calls or let me speak to supervisor. I have created cases only to have them closed with no resolution and no action on the part of the bank.If you are shopping for a bank do yourself a favor and do not use Axos!!!!!

Terrible way of handling my case, my account had fraudulent activities and a weird bank account number was added and an email notification was sent to me. I added another account that had no correlations to the fraudulent account added. My account was locked and I had to call in to get access to my account and to verify me. By granting access, I had to provide a check or show that account is related to me with documentations. After that, I told the phone representative that I was not related or have relationship to the account added, they shut down by account and told me to contact them back later since thats what it displays on his end and he cannot further assists me but did tell me to contact them back later on for updates, a week later, I received another email about an account closure update and I need contact them back. I called in, and the representative mentioned I have to do a soft credit check and used the same address i opened the account with which was absolutely terrible, i am going through an issue and that address cannot be used, the address must be updated however, that wasnt the case. She mentioned to me that she changed but I have 0 confidence and no documentation to indicate that was true and accurate.

I applied for a business checking account and kept being asked to upload documents, which I did and continued to get emails saying I didn’t so it. Finally got someone on the phone who verified docs were fine. Passed to the next step to verify my identity. Waited for the phone call and never got it - kept getting emails saying I wasn’t answering but every time I called they said I needed to wait for a call. Finally verified with a call agent and a day later was told they weren’t authorized to verify. Got emails every day saying I wasn’t verifying. Had my phone ready - no calls. I finally canceled the application because I realized if it was this hard to set up the account when they should want my business it would be impossible to maintain the account with this horrible customer service. Leaving this review to help make your decision before doing business with this bank. My wife and I are in the process in launching a new business. With ever new business there are deadline and things that need to be in place before opening. We decided to open a checking account with Axos Bank after calling in and talking with a team member. The bank seemed good and the conversation went well. So we submitted our application on a Monday afternoon. After submitting the emails and communication started coming in asking for typical documents needed. We submitted all documents that were asked for via through there online portal that night. On Tuesday afternoon I reached out to our account manager Christopher and confirmed all documents were received. He assured me that they were and one other document needed to be signed. Once signed the account would be open and active by end of day Tuesday, latest Wednesday morning. Wednesday afternoon rolled around and no emails had arrived for the new account. I called back in the the Axos 800 number to check on the status of the account and was told that it was in the processing department and assured it would be opened by end of day, latest Thursday morning. Later that day there was a follow up call to my wife asking for another document. My wife was told that there would be an email sent to her and to reply to the email with the document needed. The email was never delivered, so back to the phone calls. Thursday morning came around and I called Christopher (our account manager) once again. Christopher walked around answering why the email was never sent and put the blame back on us for not delivering the document, even though we have no clue who to send it to. I informed Christopher I would get the document over to him that day. If he could confirm that once the document was delivered the account will be open. We hung the phone up with a confirmation from Christopher that it will be opened today (Friday). At 12 PM on Friday still no email with the account number, so back to the phone. I called into the same 800 number to Axos. This time the lady that answered the phone informed me Christopher was busy and would give me a call within the hour. After 2 hours of waiting I decided to call back. AND guess what Christopher blamed us for sending him a utility bill from last month not this month. All I needed was more communication instead what I got was an account manager that lack communication. I have now wasted 5 very valuable with this bank.

If lower than one star I would have chose that rating. I would not recommend this bank at all. They used to handle customer service issues well. They placed a 5 day hold 2 days after I made a deposit; 7 business days . The check was from my mother, who has the same last name I do, and the hold was labeled as an external transfer and nothing could be done to release the funds or view the check. All calls are routed to India and the Middle East with no chance to speak to a supervisor as I was told by each agent. I have tried for 3 days to get assistance and it did not happen.This is not the first time this has happened. 3 years of banking history each and every deposit was placed on hold for 5-10 days. It has happened each and every time I made a deposit regardless of where it was from and the amount. Only check that did not have a 10 day hold was $.25 (25 cents). I deposited the check Monday at 4pm, and it took 15 hours to process that check.

This bank is really bad with customer service. I was charged a $25 overdraft fee for each item that TRIED to go through when another company accidentally charged my savings account through autopay. Even though money wasn’t taken out (Transactions had been reversed) on my account they still charged over $100 in overdraft fees stole money from my debit account and closed my account. Then sent me a letter threatening me if I didn’t pay the remaining of the overdraft fees they would report me to the credit bureau and make it difficult for me to bank with others banks even though the transactions were reverse since they still wanted their overdraft fees either way. Worst banking experience ever so I’ll be sticking with chase as this small banks will steal your money.

I have the same issues as multiple other home owners on here. The better rate is not worth the time that you will spend speaking to their customer service to fix mistakes. and if you do, go with Axos Loan, be sure to keep your property tax separate. I decided to refinance with Axos for good rates in 2021, but then my monthly mortgage was increased even though I am on a fixed rate and had no late payments. Axos customer service is poor. I have called many times and been told that they need to review my file and will call me back and never did. It seems like their call center is in India/South Asia…I have not been able to speak to someone that can clearly explain the changes in my account. The staff is respectful, but not helpful to get answers and resolve issues in timely manner.I spent hours trying to figure out why my payment increased and finally found out they were missing the HOA building insurance and even after obtaining this still increased-they said the higher rate was due to unknown property tax increase. I called the county and they confirmed that the property tax increase is not as high as the difference they quoted. They finally fix my monthly mortgage rate, but now I am dealing with trying to get my a refund. As I said, their app is hard to use and somehow I accidentally created two mortgage payments when I was trying to adjust my current auto -payment. I didn’t realize I was not able to just change my mortgage payment and you have to actually delete the initial one and create a second new one. It seems simple to me that when you get 2 mortgage payments in one month, one of them should be refunded back to your bank account, but they have not been able to refund me the money yet (dealing with this since Dec 2022).I hope my experience will improve. At this point, I would not use them again even if the interest rate is better than others. I had a great experience with US Bank.

This is the absolute worst bank I’ve ever dealt with. I deposited a check that was held 7 days. When I spoke to their “customer service” they told me that it takes 5 days to clear a check. Which meant that it should have cleared the day before I called! All he could tell me was “it’s in the system to post in another 2 days”. Which means it will be released on the 9th day. It took them two days to accept the deposit, so actually total will be 11 days!! I asked to speak to a supervisor numerous times and was told I’d get a call back in 24-48 hours… that never happened. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK! I wish I could rate them lower than 1star!

Axos business banking is awful. My bill pay has been down for months and can’t get anyone on the phone. Every time you call the “supposed” business banking number you only get consumer reps who themselves have complained about this to me. At this point I have an established account with them but will ditch them the first feasible chance I get. No good. Don’t do it. There are other banks that offer no fees.

You’re account information is not safe. When you inevitably run into fraud because this company cannot keep your details secure, they will make you jump through hoops for your money back as if it is your responsibility to fix their errors. Every call to support goes to a call center in another region of the world where they couldn’t care less about you. Your card will be shut off and you will be unable to access your money and they will tell you 5-7 business days until you get a new card. When its been 7 business days and you’re still screwed with no card it will suddenly be 7-10 business days. After 10 it will suddenly be 10-15 business days. All of this because this bank doesn’t care about you or the security of your sensitive information. Choose a real bank that you can walk into so they have no choice but the treat you like a human person instead of an account number.

Axos is great until the 1 time per year you need to sent a non-ACH wire transfer, or call them about something. Their business customer support is on par with Burger King or Comcast Cable. Sending wire transfers is expensive and like an act of congress, and expect 24 hours before it’s sent. Also, even their interest bearing business accounts only pay 1.01% interest. They have not increased as interest rates have gone up. US treasury money market accounts (at Vanguard, and Fidelity) pay 5.4%… Even If your company only has an average balance of $700k, this means an annual loss of over $30,000 in interest! Interest bearing bank accounts should not be paying less than money market, especially since bank accounts have a small risk of loss if the bank goes under, where treasury money market is backed by the US gov up to an unlimited amount

I recently got an Axos mortgage and while I can say the process is not perfect and their communication can be improved, Rosita Belandro was outstanding, her proactiveness and communication were like no one else. she was on top of every single detail and call me right away whenever something was needed from me. She also called me after the loan was funded congratulating me on my new home.Their web application is not the best, one trouble I had was when wiring my closing costs, they needed a verbal verification/approval but they never notified me about it, that almost caused me troubles on the closing, but luckily I found out just on time.So far so good, I hope I dont get any of the issues mentioned in other reviews.

If I could give a 0 star review I would, we refinanced our truck (originally) from Lifted trucks in Mesa, Az, which came with a 6in lift. The transmission went out, we got extended warranty coverage after refinancing through Axos, because the idiot who wrote up the refinance contract didn’t mark the truck had a 6in lift from Lifted trucks now they won’t cover the transmission.. and of course the office is closed because of the holiday today.. we will never recommend Axos to anyone and we will damn sure make it known for there unlawful practices..UpdateWhat can we can you guys came through and very quickly after emails to the correct department warranty is going to cover more then half of the balance for the transmission repair… thank you Axos bank for reaching out to the warranty company and making this happen.. I initiated a transfer of a large sum of money from Axos to an outside account. Instead of transferring it to the account they pulled it from the account to themselves. I have a text confirmation of my transfer details when it was initiated that confirms it was not a mistake on my end. I have now spent hours on the phone trying to get someone to help me, and writing messages to them to which i just get copy and pasted responses back. I cannot get a manager on the phone. I am super frustrated and they are holding up a large chunk of my money for up to 2 weeks while they figure out what happened on their end. When i realized what happened i tried to transfer some additional funds still in the account to make up for their mistake, and apparently this didnt go through due to technical errors as well. So theyve pulled money into their bank that i did not authorize, and apparently all transfers i try to make out are technical errors.. Its one of the worst customer service experiences i have ever had. I dont know when i will have access to my money either. And its not a small amount or small glitch. Also Axos if you see this and decide to look into this, it will be under my married name Kristan Burba and not my maiden name linked to this review

This is the worst bank Ive ever dealt with. I had a $0 withdrawal for my mortgage loan which had me calling to ensure that the payment was made on time. Theyve made duplicate withdrawals from my external bank for my mortgage (on two different occasions). This last time they did so I called and was told on three separate occasions the money would be put back into my account by a certain time/date and the error has still not been corrected.Update: They have “escalated” the issue again! Prompt, Transparent, and Efficient Closing process thus farI serendipitously came across Cooper and his team after frantically searching online trying to identify a new lending partner after a poor experience with the initial lender I was working with. After a brief call with Cooper on the phone, he had me interested with their competitive rates and efficient closing process and timeline. A few days later I was convinced and called him back to begin the process. I have been highly impressed with Cooper’s clear and prompt communication, transparency of the process and costs, and expediency - he stayed late that evening (9pm to be exact) to complete the initial loan estimates and disclosures so that I was able to sign them and lock interest rates - talk about great service and an excellent partnership introduction. His team then contacted me the next business day with the requests of initial underwriting documents and appraisal orders - all done in a timely fashion. Considering I am looking to conduct a cash-out refinance for 8 properties, Cooper’s team is also helping streamline the process to make it more efficient and easy on my end (ex: uploading all documents just once vs. having to upload 8 different times for each property). The inconsistency and lack of professionalism is what saddens me the most about this company. I spoke to a car loan representative in regards to changing the auto payment dates for my account. After being told that the dates have been successfully changed, I was still charged an auto payment for the previous date. I contacted my bank and my they advised I contact Axos since the payment is still pending. I contacted Axos and asked them to cancel the payment and reimburse the card that was charged. However, the loan representative stated that they cant process that action and a refund wouldnt be for a long time. That is absolutely absurd, I know for a fact companies have the ability to cancel a charge that is still pending. I believe Axos just wanted to make charges for the sake of making charges. Anyways, I contacted my bank again and explained the situation. They charged me a small fee to cancel the transaction. At this point, Im not going to give Axos another cent and Im actively going to refinance my car anywhere else.

Initial Account Opening.For now 3 stars.I’m a new Axos customer. Decided to open a rewards checking account with them out of a list of 6 other options due to their many perks which including the$100 New Account Bonus,the perk to earn up to 3.30% APY* and Freire offering of unlimited ATM fee reimbursements and their many other perks zero fees (monthly maintenance fees - overdraft fee - nsf fee), low initial deposit, and what it seems to market as an easy banking experience. Quick access to my money and the ability to quickly send and receive funds as well.However upon trying to make my first deposit I wanted to use Zelle as I was receiving a deposit from an outside account from a family member who did not want to link their account to my now new account. And we spent over 30 mins trying to figure out how to do so. To which when I used it was very frustrating and completely unhelpful. Even finding a number on the website to actually contact a real customer service person instead of live chat. I don’t think customers should go through hoops to get information that should be easily accessible. In term I logged out and used Cashapp instead. I also searched Google to see how I can use Zelle with Axos for future deposits. This should be on their website. Technology has made it easy for customers to send and receive money. It is quite prehistoric not having this feature. However we’re able to send funds to others but receiving them is a hassle.With my experience thus far, I’ve been scouring Axos reviews ever since and am not pleased with the amount of negative experiences to which has me looking into other banking options. Upon searching good online banks they were amongst the top. I’m unsure why? I will not be depositing funds into the account as of yet. Reading the reviews of others not having access to their funds for days is not enticing me to want to deposit funds into this new bank account.People need their money. I do not want to be another customer having to call customer service for everything. That’s exhausting and should not be a consistent thing. That is an inconvenience. I had 6 month CD with them. At the maturity, it was requested to close the account and send my fund. They wanted $10 to write a check . Customer service advised me to link a account and money can be transferred without any fee. I added external account and verified the account .I was having trouble to transfer the fund. Then I called them they said No that is not correct. fund can only be wired. there is $35 fee for that. I agreed and requested to wire the fund. After couple days, fund was not received. I called them and left numerous messages. They told me, you need to fill the wire form .which i did it and sent them as it was advised. After few days i called and asked why the fund is not sent. They told me you need to send this form on secure portal. I was like, why that was told me at the first place. After wasting many hours on the phone and dealing with rude customer service .it seems like customer service team is not trained and on the same page. I have a Business Bank Account here and was pleased at first but the customer service has been horrible and does not offer much help. Every time I need my spending limit increased it is a horrendous experience. Last week it took 4 business days to get a limit increase on my debit card and the numerous people I spoke to could not offer any assistance in speeding up the process even though I had sent an Urgent Secure Message as they requested for processing in 1-2 business days. They would not even let me speak to someone else. This is not a very business friendly bank as they do not offer much access with their online accounts and the customer service can’t do anything for you. I just opened a new bank account at another bank and am looking forward to closing this one soon.

I have a personal loan through Axos. I have the ability to pay off the loan early, however the process seems like it is drawn out to collect more interest. I contacted them today to pay off my loan. I was informed I have to mail in a check with the pay off amount (which is more than what the balance lists online). I inquired about whether my upcoming monthly automatic withdrawal payment that is scheduled for the 10th would be canceled since I was paying off the balance or if it was reflected in the pay off amount. I was told they would still be making the withdrawal but I could still send in the payment, then receive a refund or wait until after its withdrawn and call back for another pay off amount. Paying off a loan should not be this time consuming or frustrating. I also do not understand why a paper check must be submitted when all my banking information is there since they access it every month for payments. All I want to do is pay this off now instead of having it drawn out over the next 2 weeks. Ridiculous.

Was good, but has been falling apart for over a year. I have done several million $ in banking (business and personal) with them but am now moving all accounts to other banks.Reasons:- Service center was formerly La Jolla, now overseas. I havent spoken to a helpful/knowledgeable representative in over 2 years.- 3 failed transactions in the last 2 months, with no explanation other than it was a technical glitch (actual statement from rep)- Their mortgage department is chaotic and disorganized, they made several errors which delayed closing almost 2 months.- Website is frequently down or not responding sometimes for up to an entire day.- Slow response to secure messages, usually over a day. Reps also dont seem to understand their own systems.This is all completely different than the Axos of 4 years ago, when every issue was resolved promptly by a knowledgeable advisor.

My escrow company uses Axos as their bank source. I am all about security but the word from Chase is that Axos will not do verbal validation that the check is good. OK, great (not really) then after this many days you cant do a written one. If this is not done by the 16th (which would make it a whopping 1/2 month to get a check cleared that Axos issued) then it will be returned to me via my Chase account. Terrible service, no sense of any urgency. 1 star.

We were then charged extra interest and a late fee. We have excellent credit and plan on refinancing through another company. Do not use this bank for a car loan. Recently I had a frightening experience while reading emails. Suddenly both a visual and verbal message came on, informing me that my computer had been locked and that to try to restart it would result in major damage. I was to call the Help number. I did, and after being directed to various sites, it was determined that my computer had been hacked, putting personal and financial data at risk and even phone calls had been violated. I was told to call my financial institutions and have a high security alert put on all my accounts for 72 hours. Then I called Axos I was connected to a man who identified as an Axos employee. He told me that in the middle of the night three withdrawals had been authorized totaling $45,000. They were on hold for two more hours but could not be cancelled. After being on the phone with him for a couple of hours I decided to cut it off. I called a friend who is an Axos employee. She walked me through the process of sending a message through the safe website, reporting the incident. I quickly received a reply thanking me for reporting the fraud, confirming that the person I had talked with is not an Axos, assuring me that my account is safe, and giving me the correct customer service number for future use. Obviously, I am very relieved.I have been an Axos client since 2011 and have always had the best of service. This incident confirms that excellence.

The absolute worse banking services I ever had. I couldnt even load money into the account unless I wanted to drive 50miles. Passing several Walmarts and CVS stores none of them could load cash except one 50 miles away. I followed THIER instruction to get a M/O and upload it online. Couldnt do that either. I literally called 5 time in a 2 hour span to only be told the opposite of the last person whom I spoke to. So obviously I wanted to close my account. Great bank! Main reason for joining Axos was I had a horrible experience with Bank of America’s customer support, that plus them charging monthly fees and the occasional overdraft fee?! I had enough. So when I found Axos, knowing they had 1) No monthly fee 2) No Overdraft fee (because it works as a normal debit card should, and just refuses the transaction if there’s not enough in the account; I knew this was the bank to sign up for! Another perk is Evo, their customer support system; gone are the days of having to wait hours on the phone to workout an issue; talking about you BofA! So long story short if you’re looking for a good no fee checking account, that even pays a bit of interest; Axos is the way to go!Reason for owner’s reply is I had a bit of an issue depositing some checks from my grandmother. But, the right thing was done eventually; since I did have all the documentation proving who I was, the situation of grandmother no longer living, etc. It was definitely a bit frustrating, but thank you Axos for really evaluating my case and doing the right thing. Best carry cash on you at all times with this place. It’s safer. On a good note I now know how much safer crypto is than fiat money handled by professional thieves. I had high hopes I guess. This bank is truly shady. Do not bank with them unless you like being robbed by them. I had opened up an account with them after seeing several good reviews. I had nothing but problems after that. I added a joint owner, and had nothing but difficulty trying to get them set up with the app and direct deposit. After about a month I started having problems with the app. It wouldnt let me use biometrics to sign in it would tell me turn them on, but when I went into settings it was already on. I had to type my password in every time after that which was truly annoying. I also noticed that my checkbook was always off $250 when I compared it to my bank statements. I looked through all the transactions and statements trying to make sense of it several times but couldnt figure out why it was off until I connected my account to quicken. I then found an unauthorized withdrawal from my account the day I opened it. It didnt show up in my bank statements or transactions in the Axos app, but it must have occurred if it was showing in quicken. The $250 difference made sense after that. When I added it to my checkbook it balanced out with what AXOS had as my available balance. When I called customer service they denied everything stating that transaction didnt exist which was an obvious lie. Funny, $250 magically appeared back into my account without showing any transaction in my account after I told them I would leave a bad review and close my account. I closed my account immediately and will not recommend them to anyone. I found a more reliable bank and am happy with their services.

The initial process was easy and convenient. However, when it came time for paying off the loan early I was unable to reach anyone via telephone. So I left a message via Axos Bank website regarding my payoff request. I received no email or phone call for 15 days. I called again 15 days after the first call and was able to talk with someone. This representative told me that the payoff demand was sent and now expired and a new one would have to be started. I requested that the first payoff demand be honored since it was a communication issue on their behalf. I requested to speak to a manager or supervisor who could help this situation and instead was transferred over to different people who told me the same thing. I have supposedly had this resolved with them twice this year. However, now they have raised my mortgage payment almost $600 because they are counting tax payments THEY DID NOT MAKE to the city. And counting the tax payments they had to make to the city catch up this year. So they are charging me hundreds extra for their mistake! And they say it will last at least a year.

Well they did - the next day it was closed. Stay away from Axos/UFB Bank!!I transferred $10k from my credit union to the UFB savings account on May 31. On June 9 UFB debited the $10k and said the funds were returned to my credit union due to “R20”. Multiple calls to their tech support and even more “secure messages” and the funds are still not in my account. All I get is wait…wait…wait, the funds will arrive, and nothing. Even still, throughout the whole ordeal, everyone I interacted with was very kind, and very helpful. The first week of August, we decided to refinance our home I had seen email from Axos Bank so thought I would try it. My first contact was Avery Suavo. He got things rolling pretty fast. Kelly provided the general info I was looking for, but he did not push or pressure to proceed. He was honestly there to answer questions and help. My property manager and I have been trying to give him online access for over a year - its pointless, never works. I’m still waiting for that call. The message indicated that I would not loose my place in line. My biggest issue right now is the unreliability of mobile deposits - I have checks that wont deposit even though theres nothing that I can see thats wrong with them and other checks from the same source deposit just fine; its a hassle to mail checks in for deposit in 2022.I am lowering my review. A client of this bank easily opened an account using my home address as his address. So I have got his card into my mailbox with MY address as his address. Hence, the bank does not check the basic info potential or existing clients provide. Using fake address for banking services is illegal, but seems like its okay for Axos. Your tech sucks too...website routinely will disable logins and requires calling to fix (which shouldnt be necessary, especially with, as you put it, tightness in the labor market, why would your tech require me to call? They only mailed me a check and agreed to close my account after I filed a complaint with the Office of the Comptroller of Currency. Seriously, I called them trying to close my account. They told me my account was locked but I could have a check mailed to me. I told them to please do that. They then repeated to me that my account was locked and that I could have a check mailed to me. This continued on repeat for weeks until I filed a complaint with the OCC.DO NOT give your money to Axos Bank. If you ever choose to take your money back and/or take your banking elsewhere, Axos will make it very difficult to leave and you may need to get the OCC involved.

Then an hour later did get a call from a young woman Simone I think. She has a tremendous amount of trouble understanding me. I paid off my auto loan on 5/2/22. They kept sending me past due notices for $2.19 AFTER I had already paid it in full! Phone call after phone call of me trying to rectify their mistake and they kept sending letters in the mail harassing me that I still owe $2.19 + $15.00 late fee! I had an auto loan through Axos after refinancing. After some time I paid off the auto loan in full and was told my title would be in the mail and that my account would be closed. After taking months to send my title Axos withdrew two more payments form my bank account. I asked that they cancel anymore incoming payments and refund my money. They responded by telling me it was not them withdrawing the money, but it was coming from an outside source via check. I confirmed with my main bank that this was not true. After some convincing I was finally able to stop the payments and was promised my refund in full. I have now received one of the two payments I am owed and was told the second would make it to me in 15 days. It has now been well over three months since they withdrew the money and 45 days since the refunds were supposed to have been sent to me. As of now they still owe me $682. Despite wishing I could give them a good review to support a smaller bank I recommend staying away from Axos and any services they provide.

The worst bank of all time. I know a lot of reviews say it’s the best but we have had the worst experience - road block after road block. Every time we go through the secure messaging system or call customer service to solve an issue that shouldn’t be there and they say okay we will pass this info on to some mysterious review board they keep mentioning that ultimately says the problem isn’t real. They have asked for proof of address and we have sent it multiple times and they keep denying it. They take triple the time it should go get checks deposited. You can’t use Zelle with them. It’s hard to get our money. The app is slow and needs a lot of work for an online only bank…actually a bank in general. There is no excuse these days to be hosting a bad app. We are trying to close our account and apparently no one has the power to give us our money. Our debit cards don’t work. Our transfer options don’t work. Venmo wont work. They are withholding our money. DO NOT USE THIS BANK.

Good web site. Good ATM service & coverage. However, I went to Axos because they had the highest yield on money market accounts. A week after I opened my account, they reduced the interest rate below most competitors. Yes, I know the interest rate is adjustable & interest rates in general went down but Axos went from a quarter point above their competitors to a quarter point below. Then Axos switch to 0.0% when I can still get 0.6% at Citi Bank & Ally Bank for the same minimum balances.

Had issues logging in every single time. Every time I set a new password, Id make a note of it and the next time I would go to log in, the website/app would say its invalid and Id get locked out. I spent more time calling to reset the password than I did using the actual account. When I decided to close the account, the human being I spoke with was useless and would not close the account, I was forced to log in and sent a message asking for it to be closed and then had to wait, hoping theyd shut it down before I got charged a fee for not having any funds in the account. These online banks all claim to make things super simple, but in reality you have to jump thru so many hoops to conduct simple banking functions, its ridiculous.

Crooks! This bank has the least professional or knowledgeable staff. They impounded property taxes from my mortgage and never paid them saying they had sent a check to the county that the county never had received. They would not even give me the check no. saying they could not find it. How can I even verify they sent a check especially since the county denies receiving it. I ended up paying the taxes twice to this crooked bank and the county and now have to hire an attorney to get my money back from these crooks. You have to wait hours on the phone to get hold of someone. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was on hold for an hour till they closed the bank! Stay clear of this bank. Make sure you have a shark of a lawyer if you are dealing with this scam of an operation. The problems are constant.

I contacted Axos Bank about 2 years ago on the recommendation of a good friend. I had never heard of Axos, but I trusted this friends advise. I did a re-fi on my house which Ive been very happy with. The Bank has really improved its mobile and online application and is on par if not better than most Banks out there. Applying for an account is easy and fast and the app interface is intuitive. On February 2, I sent an email to Axos Bank IRA asking them to confirm what the $20 fee included for mailing IRA documents for tax purposes.; whether it was $10 for the statement and $10 for the 1099. I was very impressed when Rafael Bedoya contacted me at home on the same day to same the $20 included the 2020 IRA Statement as well as the 1099. He indicated that since I wanted to have paper statements sent to me from now on, the $20 would be charged to be IRA Account. I have been a customer of Axos Bank since 2010, and the only complaint that I may have is why charge the customer $20 a year for documents which have to be submitted to the IRS for tax purposes. What happens, when the customer is someone like myself that does not have a printer, and the libraries in Virginia are asking customers to return books in the drop box, and as far as requesting books on hold, the only option is curbsidepickup . Other than that, I really am satisfied with Axos Bank.

Over the last year I noticed home mortgage interest rates where slowly dropping. I found a couple lenders on bankrate.com all the rates were competitive and all the costs were listed. I selected one of the lenders waited about forty-five never heard a word from the agent.I remembered Tim Reeves that handled my last loan a few years ago. I called Tim he was able to match the loan rates and fees. He told me that he was now employed by Axos Bank.He sent the loan application out to me the next day. I returned the application and all the required documents in a couple days. Tim locked the loan for 60 days. The loan closed before the sixty days. Tim was in contact me by email or by phone during the processing time of the loan. The Notary came by my house for the closing.Axos Bank is an online full-service bank.

Theres not enough space here to write all the ways Axos screwed up my small business account, but it includes creating my business account as a personal account, then not accepting checks made out to my business name, and then (after 3 phone calls) telling me that the account couldnt be converted, which means that clients now need to update their wire instructions. (The original emails confirmed that they were creating a business account and that it was eventually created, so its unclear how this became a personal account.)Go elsewhere. Anywhere else.Follow-up (after owner response): I am in contact with a business banking representative and the service has been much better. A new account has been setup and Im trying again.Follow-up 2: Round 2 was better, but still mediocre. The web and app are poor. Absolutely the worst bank I’ve ever dealt with. They hold my deposits for at least five days, even if it’s cash. They also hold all of your direct deposits for five days. Why? They have no ability to transfer your o a supervisor. Instead they request a supervisor call you. Receiving emails and phone calls even on a Sunday in response to a need is not unusual. I contacted Axos Bank regarding SBAs PPP loan application when my standard bank was still trying to figure out how they would be processing these applications, and I was growing concerned that program funds would be exhausted before our application could be filed. Axos assisted with my application, approved it and submitted it to the SBA, who approved my loan and funded it within one week. Speed of light customer service by Axos Bank and the SBA in a time when expediency is critical.

Horrible experiences. One most recent was due to a major backend failure in their online system that allowed multiple external transfers of over $30k when funds were not available. They took ZERO accountability for their system failure and when funds were returned, they were held as if it were a normal ACH instead of immediately releasing to correct the system error! What attracted us first to Axos bank was the interest rates. We decided to just move one account over to see how it would work. With not having a physical location close, I wasn’t sure how I would like it. Three years later, we now have our savings, kids savings, personal and business accounts with Axos.
