Julius and Martha are some of the most thoughtful and kind people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. As the leasing office staff at Avalon they have helped us with every request and gone above and beyond what I expected. I really cant recommend them enough for how much they have improved our experience living here. They are both so wonderful especially Julius who has answered a million of our questions and helped us land the perfect apartment.

Martha Gutierrez, the leasing supervisor, has made our time at Avalon Public Market an absolute dream. Shes quick to respond to all our questions and concerns, and will even follow up on them to make sure they were addressed. From making sure the maintenance team comes with their shoe covers to putting packages in lockers (if Amazon delivery people dont), Martha truly goes above and beyond to make sure your living experience is exceptional. The maintenance team are reasonably responsive and address issues in a timely manner.

My daughter and I were fortunate enough to meet Julius who was so sweet, kind and knowledgeable about the apartments and facilities. He helped plan viewings for our criteria and was very patient and understanding. He is one of the main reasons Avalon apartments was in our top 3. The apartments, facilities and staff are top tier! I would highly recommend Avalon apartments. Beautiful apartments, amazing facilities with many amenities close by. And of course Julius!

I have lived at Avalon for a few years and since Julius and Martha were hired, management has never been better. They are both wonderfully kind people. When it came time to re-new my lease, Julius was incredibly helpful and made the process less stressful. He is a big reason why I decided to stay at Avalon.

I recently moved into this apartment, and I was immediately at home. The entire moving process went smoothly thanks to the leasing offices amazing assistance. Martha in particular was really helpful. She went out of her way to help me carry things on many occasions when one of my arms was hurting from a sports injury. She was on top of everything, including fulfilling all of my requests. She is the best! I rate her a whopping five stars!

Avalon is amazing! The wife and I were out of the country when we received a phone call from our maintenance man Ivan. There was an issue going on in our unit while we weren’t there and he came to save the day. He went above and beyond to make sure that when we got back home everything was completely perfect, and to no surprise, it was. Thank you for all you do Ivan!

We love it here! Julius reached out to us within minutes of getting our application, was super responsive to all of four emails, and answered all of our questions! Martha made sure that things went smoothly on move-in day. Once we arrived, Ivan from maintenance stayed behind for us late into the evening and showed us to our unit. The team here is incredible, and its clear that they put a lot of effort into making residents feel as welcome and at home as possible. Im glad I chose this place :)

It was great until it wasn’t. For the most part the staff is cordial if you catch them on a good day and if they feel like acknowledging you. Once you turn in your notice to vacate you’re practically invisible.After 3 years here I moved up to the 7th floor where you are to have some exclusive lounge access. How can you enjoy an exclusive lounge with piles of bird poop alll over the balcony. Like that’s gotta be a health hazard. It looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in ages! So DISGUSTING. On Multiple occasions the trash rooms were a mess as well as trash pilled in the garage garbage cans. The building seems to have a gnat problem they were always in the elevator, gyms and in my units both 3rd floor and 7th floor. When I emailed about this concern I was told to purchase a mesh screen for my balcony door as if that’s where the gnats were coming from. Being on the 7th floor also came with pigeons invading and pooping all over the balcony! So disgusting! Thank God my pup never got sick from this!I liked the maintenance team from before way better. Once Kenneth then Aster left it just never felt as friendly. One thing I notice of my 4 years of being at Avalon is the staff turnover is crazy. They are always getting new employees.2 stars because anytime you need something fixed they act super fast!

Update: It’s been over half a year since I moved in, and I’m absolutely in love with Avalon Public Market! Martha and Julius from the leasing office are such sweet human beings and so fun to be around. Whenever I talk to them, they are always super kind and supportive :) David from the maintenance team has also been super reliable and amazing! He always follows up with my maintenance requests, which I haven’t had many, very soon after I submit them, and fixes everything so well. My sink had a leakage earlier this week and I thought this was gonna take a while since they needed to find a professional plumber to do the work, but David was so on top of everything! He helped me seal the leaks temporarily and found someone to come in and replace my sink within two days. He’s also super friendly and always says hi to my fur babies when he comes by. Thank you so much!I’m a new resident and I’m already in love with Avalon Public Market. The property itself is simply gorgeous, from the beautiful lounges (there’s a rooftop lounge that you can overlook the bay from!) and the state-of-the-art gym, to the cute outdoor entertainment space and the pool, to the bright and carefully maintained apartments themselves. In addition, the surroundings feel quite safe and Emeryville itself is just a very cute place to walk around, with the Public Market being literally within five-minute walking distance from the apartment building. The building’s security system is quite impressive and I feel very safe with the controlled access through the gates, the double-gated garage, and the secure locker hub and locker room.As much as I love the building itself and what it offers, what made me immediately want to be a part of the Avalon Public Market community is definitely the people at the leasing office. It has been such a blessing to work with Martha, who has been so kind, supportive, responsive, patient, and just all-around amazing since Day 1. I was looking to move last minute and had a gazillion questions as I toured the apartment, but Martha was so sweet and patiently took the time to walk me through everything, which helped tremendously with all the anxiety I had had about the move. When I needed a couple things to be updated on my lease, she was fast with having a new lease created and gave assurance along the whole process. When I came to pick up the keys, Martha did not only show me around the apartment again and explain in details how I would access places, etc., but she also made sure that I was comfortable with using the keys and had fully learned how to access the building and my apartment before she went back to the office. Through all these interactions, I really have felt cared for by Martha and am even more excited about the prospect of becoming a resident here because of her kindness and support. It’s so apparent that she and the rest of the leasing team truly care about making the community feel like home for all the residents and are there to support whenever you need. Solid location to launch your daily personal and professional life. Easy access to everything the Bay has to offer. Julius has been a great resource on the property management team. Hes customer experience driven and seeks to minimize any disruptions to ones enjoyment of the property.
