I have been doing some research on different companies to open up a precious metals backed IRA and Augusta by far have been the most educational and transparent about the process.Updated: I just finished the purchasing of precious metals through August. Everything went really smooth and seamless. August explained everything step by step and guide me through the whole process. They made it very easy and had answers for my questions.

The big thing for me when looking for a place to set up a Gold IRA and buy precious metals, was honesty, and not a giant sales pitch. There are companies out there that are heavy into the sales pitch. For some, Augustas process of actually buying the metals may seem tedious, but it really isnt. They are all about educating their prospective clients and even though I am somewhat seasoned and have previously had PMs in another IRA, I could fully respect the fact that not everyone they deal with may have the same knowledge base as I do, and their presentations are tailored toward educating the prospective buyer no matter what your experience level is so that even a beginner will come away feeling comfortable and not feel like they were pressured into a sale. I did not mind going over it again and in fact, their were a few things I learned along the way. They ARE NOT a company that wants to sell you something and then sweep you under a rug. They want to make sure you know what is involved, and stay with you the entire way, even after you have made a purchase. Yes price matters, and even though they may not have been the cheapest, they were certainly very fair without a trace of any hard sale tactics. For me it was all about the quality service, both prior, during, and after the sale.

I was dubious because it sounded like code for a high-pressure sales tactic - think timeshare. I was pleasantly surprised that there was no sales pressure at all, not even a sale possible. My assigned consultant answered my questions about a Precious Metals and which depository is best from a fiscal perspective. I was able to learn from the internet the Delaware silver depository is only 12 feet above sea level and very close to the seashore. This is concerning because Delaware coastal areas are sinking faster than other parts of the northern Eastern coastline. This was the only info the representatives did not know.

The presentation highlighted the need to invest in precious metals, e.g., inflation, stock market fluctuations and the current state of the economy. I will be seventy next month and even though I was invested in the Stock Market since my twenties, I really knew nothing about Purchasing gold/silver as a investment strategy. I had someone recently mention it to me. I saw the Facebook post and decided to get educated and joined the webcam. I am so impressed, with the knowledge everyone possessed, but was truly amazed they could explain everything to me in a manner I could Comprehend. I had many questions, as this was so foreign to me, but they took as much time as needed to answer my questions and address my concerns. I have been intrigued to check out investing in metals just recently, but never saw a opportunity to join a webcam with the information presented in such a Straightforward Manner. The presentation was fine but when it was over I offered to buy $10,000,00 worth of gold AT A TIME from them because the price of gold is constantly changing BUT the less than adequate intelligent operators of the company refused to take my order unless it was $25,000,00 or more. Was that really the smartest thing they could have done for their business. I could have purchased $100,000.00 in gold from them but I just wanted to buy it $10,000.00 at a time. Had they accommodated me I would have now had an account with them and could continue making purchases. If I had done it their way I would have paid almost $1800.00 per oz for the gold (which includes their markup over spot) because the price was higher at the time. In that case I would have had $25,000.00 in gold that cost $1800.00 an oz instead of 10k 10k and 10k with the second and third purchase costing about $50 .00 less per ounce.
