I received an excellent and very thorough exam from Dr. Jeff. The optician, Cherilyn, was very helpful when I was choosing whether to use previous eyeglass frames or to purchase a new frame. The assistant, helping to do all the eye health evaluation was very friendly and good at her job, as was the rest of the support staff. Overall, it was a great experience at Auburn Family Optometry. You wont be disappointed!

Staff is amazing. I had been waiting for my VSP to kick in and had called weekly to see if it was. And once it was available, Kelly called me and let me know it was good to go. And she was able to get me in within the week. The doctor was great at explaining EVERYTHING to me in terms I understood. I would recommend this practice to anyone.

I had a wonderful experience here. I hadn’t been to an eye doctor in over 20 years and I couldn’t have asked for a better visit. The staff was very friendly and the doctor was so thorough and explained everything so well. Picking out my frames was a breeze and they ensured that I got frames that I loved and that my insurance covered the cost of. I’m so happy I found them.

I needed to have my son’s eyes checked and found this place when looking at who took our insurance. They were able to get us in the very next day. All of the employees were very nice and helpful and took their time with us. Dr Jason was great. The office is very clean. I’m very happy we found Auburn Family Optometry

Everyone I came in contact with and who assisted me were absolutely above and beyond professional, extremely kind, and helpful and truly listened to me and explained everything to me so wonderfully!!!! My eye doctor, she was the best Ive ever seen, and was extremely caring and took time with me to explain everything and gave me such a theural exam and I greatly appreciate that so much! I actually enjoyed my time there because of all the staff and they made the atmosphere so welcoming!

I was a patient of Dr Odineal for many years. After she left I was concerned that another doctor at Auburn Family Optometry would not be nearly as good. But I love my new doctor, Christina Goodwin! She has been great and just as thorough as Dr Odineal. Also Sierra the technician did a good job getting me through all the fun pretests.

Beyond impressed with their customer service and thorough exam for an urgent eye issue. Added bonus for having an after hours emergency number available, and they have more equipment to assess issues than two prior eye doctors I have been to. I will also add that their reception and scheduling staff is accommodating, warm, and created a peace of mind when dealing with my issue. Highly recommend!

The staff was absolutely amazing. My daughter is 2 and a half and they were incredibly patient and kind. They made her feel so comfortable. The whole vibe was happy from the second we walked in. I cant remember everyones names that I worked with but every single person that was involved in my visit was as kind as could be. The two front desk gals struck conversations up with me and were very nice amd welcoming. The lady that did the initial exam imaging was very patient and nice. The gentleman that did my eye exam was very helpful knowledgeable and sweet. The lady that helped me pick out my new frames was beyond helpful. She went through so many frames with me patient the entire time (I have no sense of style) so she helped me find the perfect frames for my face just like my previous visit. I have been getting glasses since I was 3 years old and this is the best place I have ever been to!!!

WOW - what a treat. From the time my husband and I walked in to the time we left, what a wonderful experience. Who knew you could feel like you just walked into the five star Waldorf Astoria in D.C. The young lady at the front desk immediately greeted us. Very nice and helpful. The gentleman who did our exam prior to the eye doctor coming in whisked us away and started asking all the necessary questions. They were so knowledgeable, I thought they were eye our doctors. And our eye doctors, Dr. Goodrich and Dr. Allgeier, there really are no words. THEY WERE OUTSTANDING. And the technology they use - wow. I felt like the took me to school. They answered all my questions even before I knew I had them. I left feeling very educated and confident. And the young ladies that helped us pick out our glasses. Did you know you had a personal stylist? You do there. How fun was that. Never has anyone offered there opinion or make suggestions. AND they even got my husband to open up and try new ones. I havent been able to do that in 28 years. They had a vast selection and even though they are a young crew - they knew more then any of the eye doctors we have been to in the 40+ years my husband and I have been going to eye doctors. The staff was so friendly and engaging and really helpful. I think a visit to any type of doctor can make anyone a bit anxious. Each staff member made me feel at ease and took excellent care of me. I was kept informed during the exams along the way about each step that was occurring and the process was simple and believe it or not, pleasant. Friendly, knowledgeable, excellent customer service. Great with kids. The doctors take their time with you if you have specific eyes issues (each of my eyes have very different prescriptions that often lead to nausea and they worked through several appointments to get my prescription to the point where I could both see and not feel seasick). The staff offer fast adjustments and small repairs usually free of charge . Highly recommended.

I had a minor eye emergency accident over night, left a msg at 7:30am and they got me in asap juggling the schedule. Auburn Family Optometry was so so kind, accommodating, and providing excellent reassuring care. I had no idea how bad it was and was so worried all morning. Thankfully damage was not too bad. Im still healing and couldnt be more grateful for their response and care and ongoing support through this.

This is hands-down my favorite optometrist office! Yesterday was my first experience and I was blown away by the attention to patient needs and explanation of procedure. I learned more about my eyes than I’ve known my entire life, it wasn’t just a quick prescription! The staff in the frames area was very sweet and helped me find the best frames for my face in a range of options and helped me understand my insurance coverage in detail. Will definitely be recommending to my family/friends in the future!

Rewrite: Firstly Up sell, Up sell Up sell.Went right in and taken to the machines etc. Taken to the exam room and the girl puts drops in my eyes for the dilation part of my Comprehensive eye exam covered in full by my insurance. The older doc comes in and greetings etc and he does whatever and fiddles with papers and the computer. Moves to the 1or2..2or3 part of the visit. Then back to the computer and fiddling with the papers. I Talk about reading and that Im not religious but friends read the bible and I looked at it and its so blurry for me. Big mistake. Doc goes on and on about reading the bible. Ok. Who cares. He starts babbling about something about an exam the computer test doesnt show or something which I still dont understand. AS NY EYES ARE DILATED. I pointed out I was there for my insurance covered compreh exam. He ignored me. Whatever.He escorts me to the high pressure sales lady. I look around but I dont really need glasses right now and ask for my prescriptions. But I looked a Little and thought Ill bring my hardly used frames and change the lenses. She didnt like that. Saying Im covered for $xxx. With a pressured lets spend it suggestion. I was done. Reluctantly and rudely was handed my scripts (Its the LAW). Escorted to the front where the sales lady announces. He doesnt owe anything!. Gal says shell schedule my Follow up for 30 days. Follow up!?!? for what?!?. pages flipping. Doc wants to see you for Medical*. WHAT are you talking about? All she could say was Doc wants me back for a Medical visit. Why? I dont know. Got my scripts and left with no exam on dilated eyes and so very confused..it was days later when I realized although my eyes were dilated, HE DIDNT DO THAT EXAM AND just WANTS TO BILL IT AS MEDICAL for the money. but for Medical*.??? it would be out of my pocket and not covered by my insurance.Up sells here not only in high pressured glasses area but also in exams. My eyes were dilated for absolutely no reason here, even though my comprehensive eye insurance covers it.

I purchased both reading and prescription sun glasses from Auburn Family Optometry. I paid for an anti-reflective coating on both sets of glasses that ended up failing. I have been in to this office on four separate occasions to resolve this issue, and I will be back a fifth time to pick up the sun glasses. They put the wrong lenses in my reading glasses, and the anti-glare film has failed twice on each pair of glasses. I finally asked for a refund for the anti-glare film that I had them remove because it kept failing and made the glasses unusable. The lady said that a refund was impossible,This place is terrible.

Ive used Auburn Family optical since they Opened for business. I had to find a new Option for getting the Glassware and Doctor for my vision. I went to a open house and made sure that they would make me a appointment later and they did been using service since then.I am giving a 5 star review to tell what a great experience you will have at this office. Gale was a great employee in this office sadly she no longer works there but there are many others who help pick out the frame and shape for Glassware and they have many different types of things on display for you to choose from.

First time to a new doc always leaves you wondering what youll get. I was very impressed! Ive been to a few eye docs in my life and I can tell a good one from a bad one. I saw Dr. Jason Allgeier, son of the senior Dr. Allgeier. He was very knowledgeable, explained everything clearly, helped me make informed decisions about my eye care, and took his time making sure all my questions were answered. It was the most technically advanced eye exam Ive ever had. Everyone in the office was patient and helpful, even when selecting and paying for frames, they gave me information I would need if I went elsewhere. This is the kind of treatment that gains my loyalty and I purchased through them. Im so happy to find an Optometrist I feel so much confidence in.

The staff and Dr I met with are nice however the staff is not very proactive. On my second visit I waited for 40 minutes in the exam room without anyone checking on me. People had walked by and seen me sitting there but no one thought to check as to why I was there for 40 minutes without seeing the doctor. I then had to go out and ask the staff where the doctor was. Not a huge deal but annoying. I was then prescribed contacts and was told that they were on back order and I was given trials with idea being that my contacts would be in within 2-3 weeks. 2-3 weeks came and went and no contact from the office. I called them and they said it would be another 2 weeks. I was surprised that no one called me to update me on the new timeline as my contacts were trials and had been used for almost a month. I asked what they could do and they said nothing and asked if I had glasses. I do but running, playing golf, and being active in glasses is not really a great option. I asked if I could order them on 1-800-Contacts. They said they would not recommend that. I ask if they could call other offices to see if they can get one set of trials for me and they said they could not do that. The person I was speaking with then said that she could ask the doctor if there was a different brand I could use until my lenses were ready. Waiting to hear back from them on this... I wasnt going to post a review until this latest phone call. The lack of proactiveness until I showed that I was ready to explore all possibilities was concerning.

Auburn Family Optometrist is a great place to visit. I have been coming here for several years. The staff is very friendly and make you feel comfortable right away. The doctors are very thorough with their exams and make sure you understand exactly what is going on with your eyes. Then finishing your visit with the opticians to select your new glasses from a large selection of affordable glass frames tops it off. There is no pressure to purchase things your dont need or want and they strive to keep it in your budget. I would recommend this practice to anyone needing a quality experience.

I started going to this optometry office a little over a year ago by recommendation from a friend, so two visits to this point. My first visit I was made to wait in the exam room for 25 minutes before the optometrist saw me. I thought that was unprofessional. That visit led to a new prescription that I filled there in their shop as they boasted a free frames offer when you buy one, and I needed computer glasses and regular glasses. The two pair still ran me $1100, and as I said that was with one of the frames presumably for free. The prescription turned out to be way off, way too strong. So I went back for a second eye exam and they got the prescription right and the glass lenses made properly.A year later, I received a reminder it was time for a recheck. Scheduled my appointment for early in the morning hoping to avoid a long wait in the exam room. This time it was little more than 10 minutes before I saw the tech, then another 1-0-15 minutes for the optometrist, but as far as I could tell, I was the second patient in the office so why the wait at all? Eye exam went much better this time around, but just like last time, they had a young woman waiting for me at the exam room to escort me to their glasses shop expecting me to purchase glasses from them right then and there. I asked for a written copy of my prescription and youd think I just committed an almighty sin for asking. When the glasses gal told the woman at the front desk I wanted a written copy of my prescription, they smirked at each other as if I had done something wrong. Then they tried to bill me for some optic scan I did not request or have done. Once they got the bill right ($134 for eye exam) and I got the prescription, I got out of there. Bottom line, the exam was thorough, the optometrist was polite and helpful, but between having to wait for the optometrist, being over-charged, and being made to feel guilty for wanting my prescription in writing for wanting to purchase glasses at a place more reasonable, well, Id rather find another office that treats me with a bit more respect.

If you’re looking for the BEST eye doctors there are in the Auburn area you have looked in the right place! Dr. Allgeier and Dr. Jason have been phenomenal! I have severe astigmatism and have struggled with a focus issue my entire life. They have been so patient with making sure I have the correct Rx for glasses, contacts and now Lasik! I was not expected to be able to have the procedure let alone the results I had with Dr. Meister’s office. Without Dr. Allgeier and Dr. Jason I don’t believe I would have had the same results. This office is like family and has treated me so well on top of providing amazing care! I can’t thank them enough! My life has changed! I can see and read the bottom line with no lenses!! I’ve never been able to do that in 38 years!!

I had laser cataract & astigmatism surgery in Dec. 2016, shortly after. I experienced no notable improvement in sight to the eye in question. After several follow up office visits it was determined that the cataract was corrected but not the astigmatism and was referred to Dr, Meister for corrective action. As a result in early Feb.,with a less than positive attitude, I met with Dr. Meister to discuss my condition. He demonstrated extreme expertise and had the confidence that hed be able to correct my vision problem. Therefore I left with renewed optimism that my problem would be fixed. Now Im waiting to schedule a date for the corrective procedure. As a aside, the entire Auburn Family Optometry staff always provides 1st class customer and patient service. On 3/2/17, Dr. Meister performed Lasik surgery on my right eye to correct the astigmatism. My follow up visit on 3/3/17 with Dr. Allgeier, indicted improvement, even though the eye was blurry. I was told it would improve to near normal within a week, so Im withholding comment regarding success until next week. As of 3/10/17 still no improvement in right eye, so it appears that a 3rd procedure needs to be done to correct the problem. Once again Ill still to see what the next procedure brings, its been 3 months and Im running out pf patience.

Dr allgeier has saved my eyes. I came to him in 1986 having worn hard contacts for 25 years and my eyes looked like prunes.
