I ordered their chicken kabob for my toddlers. It was very salty but soft and juicy. It was too salty so both kids didn’t like it and I couldn’t eat it either. The rice was so hard and not edible. I would not order from this restaurant again.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Atlas Mediterranean Kitchen and I have to say, it was truly amazing. As soon as I walked in, the staff welcomed me with a friendly smile and seated me right away. The atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and inviting, with beautiful decorations.The menu had a great variety of dishes, absolutely delicious.Not only was the food fantastic, but the service was also excellent. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic meal. I cant wait to go back again in the future..

First time trying this restaurant today. Went there for lunch and it was so good! The falafel was one of the best I’ve ever had. Their hummus was delicious. The eggplant dish was amazing. The fresh made bread was a great addition to the meal. You could tell everything was made in house and fresh. And the price was very reasonable. Try it and you won’t be disappointed!! I will definitely be back!

Exceptional service and exquisite cuisine. The owner and chef personally greeted me and crafted a made-to-order fresh garlic chicken dish that was absolutely delicious. With their warm hospitality and fantastic menu suggestions, will certainly be returning.

Amazing! Truly all that needs to be said.. But what kind of review would that be? Owner is kind and always makes you laugh. The environment is clean. I am in love with all the meat here. When one thinks of Persian and Middle Eastern cusine, many expect an interior that retains that cultural atmosphere. Atlas is different in how they have a modern style, with a unique colourful lighting placement in the ceiling, but allows the customer to focus on the food provided. Chelo kebab, the national dish of Iran, is available here in a pleasant simplicity of beef and/or chicken over a bed of saffron rice, with cooked tomatoe, salad and lime for flavouring. The experience was most pleasant and satisfying as a whole. Friendly staff who are keen about informing the customer of how long it will take to prepare, and little to no waiting time. For someone who wants the simple but good wholesomeness of Middle Eastern cuisine, Atlas is a great place to go. Thank you for the service, and may your business continue to do well.

As an Iranian, this is more of the food I am used to. Generally, when a restaurant is Mediterranean, the food is mixed and matched depending on the person that owns it. The kabobs were all juicy and delicious. Unfortunately, they were out of lamb due to a shortage, but I am sure that would have been delicious as well. The falafel was not too fried or hard, more like and oval ring, but tasted great. The portions were not too large and definitely enough to share. The Must O Khiar was not very good and for some reason they add raisins to it, definitely not worth buying. The atmosphere was very peaceful and calming and the staff was very polite and helpful. Worth going back to. Comparatively, it was not too expensive either.

Came here for the first time today with in-laws. I informed the waiter and chef that I have a severe chili pepper allergy, including paprika, and they went above and beyond to make sure I was safe. The chef went as far as to inform me of everything he put in the food. Ive never felt more safe eating out. The food was absolutely amazing. We got a kabob sampler platter, and each one was beyond expectations. My favorite thing was their housemade salad dressing. I ended up snagging some from my in-laws to drown my salad in it. I will absolutely be coming back the next time I am in California.

For the ratings at this restaurant had I was expecting a lot more the food was a bit bland and wasnt what Im used to maybe theres different type of Middle Eastern restaurants but I was expecting a little bit more. The hummus I dont know it was a little bit too acidic in my taste. And the lamb was covered in garlic the garlic overpower that the actual taste so I wasnt too happy.

A very special restaurant! Incredibly delicious and authentic food, everything is always made with fresh ingredients. We love the salmon, chicken, beef filet and koobideh kabobs. If you are vegetarian, highly recommend the lentil soup and Kashke Baddamjan. Also, the rice is always light and fluffy, not weighed down with too much oil or butter. Great portion sizes and pricing too. Dine in and take out are both available.It’s a family owned and ran business which we love, they are all so kind and you feel like an extension of their family!

My 9yr old picky eater said it was his new favorite dinner place!In addition to the amazing food I was also able to not only find some food that is safe for my food allergies (allergic to milk and wheat) but after talking to the owner he made it clear he understood the importance of protecting from cross contamination! I felt safe and was able to eat almost exactly what my family had (with the needed modifications) which really helped me feel included in the family meal!A friend in Simi Valley said we needed to drive back into LA for any good food, but this for sure is an exception! 10 out of 10 will eat here again!

Very good. The manager/owner is really nice and tries to make sure everything is perfect. The food is really tasty, but it is a little pricey for what it is. Basically a chicken breast and some rice is $15.95. That being said, we still eat here all the time because its so good.

Mediterranean kitchen is such a broad term that I did not know what to expect. They have kabobs and several stews, as well as several starters. It seems like a good place to order a lot of different dishes and share, but I was alone. So I ordered the hummus, a salad, and the lentil soup. All were very good. The hummus came with this awesome bread that I could not get enough of. The lentil soup was really good, I could eat it every day. It had a rich flavor. The salad was fresh. Prices are reasonable and service is nice at this place. It is not fancy, but a nice sit-down place. They could do a better job putting together some set menus.

Great food and service. Try the lamb at a place like this and you will not be disappointed. Homemade dishes and very fresh. Has a nice casual atmosphere and rarely a wait.The owner feeds a lot of homeless people to give back to the community and is a real gentleman. In the past, we volunteered to serve Thanksgiving at his other Newbury Park location but the Madera location is very convenient for us and has easy parking.

This is my families go to restaurant when we cant cook at home. The potato, pea and shredded chicken appetizer is a must have with the whole wheat bread! You cant leave without trying this, its so unique! We love the salad dressing...odd choice to mention, but its so good! There is a lentil soup thats nice too. We love the chicken skewers which are perfect ever time; juicy and perfectly cooked, served over rice with charred tomatoes and lemons. My personal favorite is the beef, eggplant and lentil stew with black limes served with rice. The best comfort dish in my opinion. So many great choices - we never get tired of coming here for dinner. The service is great too, they always remember who we are and what our favorites are.

Fabulous restaurant, decent prices, wonderful fare and large portions make this a must-eat place when you visit SoCals valley area.Izzy and his family are the owners and servers. They are incredible warm and helpful. The lamb shank was fall off the bone tender and moist in a wonderful tomatoe sauce that was not heavy, but very flavorful.The kabobs were awesome--tender, moist and very savory. I dont think they make a bad dish, but I plan on returning and trying everything (eventually) on the menu just to confirm that :)Definitely a must try.

The only thing I am upset about is that I didnt eat here SOONER! I ordered the #17, a lamb shank and cherry rice. The lamb meat was tender and mouthwatering while the cherry rice was a truly mind blowing experience. The staff was super friendly and even gave us extra pita bread and hummus!I cant wait to eat here again!

First time is always a good thing to get the taste of what any restaurant is offering. I must say, I was impressed with what I ordered. The grilled salmon with their special Persian recipe was absolutely delish! The saffron added that Mediterranean patina to the flavor. The salad was fresh and crisp! Their dressing gave it more pizzazz to my taste buds. My BUDdies went crazy and gaga for more, more, more! Ill be a regular for sure!

Omg, its the best Mediterranean food Ive ever tried! Their meat so juicy and soft that it literally melt in your mouth, food is just delicious! ! Also their bread, you gotta try it for sure. And extremely friendly people who work here, always welcoming and caring. Another detail that I noticed, the kitchen is absolutely clean which is extremely rare case for any restaurants. Good job!

The atmosphere is pretty plain. They mostly serve a variety of Kabobs. We had #11,which was chicken and beef Kabobs. It is a lot of food including Basmati Rice and a side salad. It was very good. The pita bread is very fresh and delicious,,, request it when you go.

Dispute I called them earlier and no visible sign ask them their menu and let them we are going to dine in, but when we had arrived didnt let us to dine in because of our children. Whole restaurant was empty there was nobody expect us. The owners were very rude, first time in my whole life I had been such as place. Also menu is different than online.

I initially found this place by googling. obviously I live in Los Angeles while this is in Simi valley. It is very close to the Reagan library and this is the second time I have been there.The place is modest in decor. It looks more like an upscale cafeteria than a fine dining eatery. But that is where the comparison ends. The food is gorgeous. From the salad to the Persian tea to every aspect of the meal it is amazing! The dressings for the salad or homemade the salads are very fresh to race is perfection. Ive had the chicken fesenjan. Ive also had the lamb shank with sour cherry and Ive had the lamb shank with basmati rice currants and lentils. A lot of value for the price & quality!Service is very friendly. The young man that waited on us, as the young lady that waited on me my first trip, was very enthusiastic about the food and the service was just spot-on. There is a very large parking lot as this is in a mini mall.

The location is accessible with ample parking. The evening ambience is casually elegant. I ordered falafel as appetizer. My main dish was marinated salmon with herbs and basmati rice and baklava for dessert. They were all authentically delicious and were served by polite, attentive and efficient staff. This is a must go place if you want something that breaks the ordinary dinner without paying exorbitant prices.

Went in.Was greeted as I went in.Very nice guy...sat me on the table and handed me the menu.I ordered dinner. My god! lovely.I noticed that the food was very well cooked and delicious. Later I researched some of the names of the food on his menu and realized they were all traditional home made food that is mostly cooked in homes of families in the Middle East. A mixture of Persian and Arabian food. I dont know why its called Mediterranean and not Middle Eastern or Persian, but am assuming its due to bad public misconception about the region and inaccurate media coverage and bad politics etc. Anyway the food is great and it is very low in fat. It is very healthy. When I say great I mean freaking tasty! I do recommend that you do ask what you are ordering because most of the food has Persian names and you might not know what they are. Guys and women, if you want something that is delicious and at the same time not worry about your weight, go to this place. The food he makes is hand prepared and all natural.

My family and I visited Atlas for dinner as a special treat on an otherwise uneventful Saturday evening.The proprietor welcomed us in with a very friendly introduction and even helped us select food that best met our needs. We came up with a beef kabob plate, a veggie plate and a side of hummus. The kabobs were tasty (per my wife) and the rice was cooked just right for this style of food. The veggie plate was a bit underwhelming, especially when compared with the sheer quantity of food that comes with a plate of meat. Yes, the meat plate is more expensive but both should come with about the same amount of food. Just wish it had a bit more to it.We visit lots and lots of middle eastern and mediterranean restaurants and typically sample the hummus as we did at Atlas. I found the hummus here to be underwhelming. Looking at it, its a little chunky and comes topped with a clear oil (presumably olive?) that didnt add flavor to it. Digging in, it was clearly hummus but didnt have the traditional creaminess or garlic notes that were used to. The one flavor that stood out was lemon which was nice but wasnt enough to hold the hummus up on its own. The bread was also not what we were expecting...being more of a cut up pizza dough instead of a more traditional pita or similar flatbread.Net - great meat stuffs. Not so hot for hummus or vegetarians.

I highly recommend Atlas for lunch or dinner. So fresh and delicious generous portions friendly staff everything is on point. It does take approximately 20 -30 minutes to get food dueto everything is cooked fresh to order. I suggest calling in ahead of time it works for me when im in a rush!

Whenever we drive out to the Reagan Library we love to stop at Atlas for lunch. The Greek salad is our favorite. The homemade dressing is slightly sweet and sumptuous. The falafel in the salad are unlike those anywhere else, they are also a bit sweet but not overly so. All in all the Greek salad is a big hit with us. We often get the veggie plate and it is a simple affair: delicious Basmati rice, hummus and eggplant dish served with pita bread.
