I had the pleasure of doing business with Daniel at ASAP Data Recovery back in July - apologies for the overdue review, but my sincere satisfaction with their quality of work & services still stands!Once my external hard drive (of 10+ years) finally gave out on me & refused to mount onto my desktop, my heart sank since a decades worth of mementos and work files had seemingly vanished (note to self: back up files in multiple places)! So of course, I went on a frenzied search to find a data recovery service that could be reliable & reasonable in price. And fortunately, I came across ASAP Data Recovery & noticed all of the glowing reviews - particularly regarding Daniels exceptional customer service and expertise!All of these reviews are spot-on, and now Im happy to chime in on what a pleasure it was to resolve my hard drive issue with Daniel. First – because ASAP accepts walk-ins, I was able to meet with Daniel in person to explain the situation & he was very kind, patient, and attentive. Then, I left my drive with them to be diagnosed at no charge – and for the next couple weeks, Daniel was very communicative along every step of the way.When they finally diagnosed the issue & offered steps to fully recover my data, I was floored to learn that payment was only due if recovery is successful AND if I were satisfied with the results (also providing an opportunity to review & verify the results via an online server before officially transferring onto a device). Otherwise, they give you a choice to simply walk away - no questions asked. And on top of this, Daniel & his manager were kind enough to honor a couple of discounts/coupons to help work within my budget.Because they had taken extra steps to maintain communication & ensure my comfort in this process, I gave them the green light to proceed – and as promised, my files were thoroughly recovered and ready for review online. After losing 4TB of data from my business portfolio from a failed external drive, I was incredibly anxious and in a sticky situation. Incredible Customer Service from Daniel and excellent work done in restoring data from a failing drive!!! The drive would not boot into Windows; however, ASAP Data Recovery was able to recover the data and transfer it to a new SSD. Now the system runs faster than it has in some time due to the SSD vs spinning disks.

I was very happy with my experience with ASAP Recovery. The quote was very reasonable. The Geek Squad at Best Buy was quoting me over $2,000. That was crazy expensive. ASAP Data Recovery was a couple of hundred dollars and they did a fantastic job. Daniel is very knowledgeable and has a very soothing and professional voice and demeanor. When you drop your disk off, you feel like all of your personal items, aka your life, are in good and honest hands. I felt like I could trust these guys and that my data wouldnt end up on some weird third-party site. The whole process took less than a week and I highly recommend their services. I had an aged 5TB external drive with over a decade of files and photos (over 4Tb) that accidentally fell 6 inches onto a hard floor, resulting in a dreaded click of death.In moments like this you quickly try to remember all that was on that drive and realize the potential permanent loss. For a couple of days I thought it was the end of it.After searching online for local experts, I came upon ASAP Data Recovery. They were conveniently located (in Woodland Hills) with a good reputation, so I stopped by for a chat. I left confident enough that I returned with my drive the following day.Within a few days they had evaluated the damage and offered an estimate. Turns out the drive had a damaged motor, damaged heads and platters.The drive required major surgery, and like any damaged drive theres no guarantee of a full recovery - but the team managed to recover over 95% of the content. That was much more than I was expecting considering the age and damage of the drive.Its terrible when it happens but, like having a good car mechanic or plumber or electrician, its great to know there is a reliable place nearby that can resolve hard drive problems. I highly recommend this place.

My hard drive dropped and it wasnt looking good. I had 12 years worth of photos, videos and documents on there and was going to lose it all. We lost access to all data on a large SSD containing video projects and related files. We took the drive to ASAP Data Recovery and they were able to recover nearly all of our data to a new drive. We absolutely got all of the important stuff that would have been impossible to recreate because most of the original content was destroyed in the Paradise fire in California. My Hard drive crashed and went dead. I hadnt backed up files in about a year, so thought I had lost some work files as well as photos. I contacted ASAP and after examining my drive at their expense they gave me a firm cost along with a detailed list of folders and files they could recover. Their customer service was great. No pressure and no risk if I didnt proceed with recovery. Their recovery was about 99% of the files I thought lost. I work for a large Television Production company and we had a XQD camera card that went corrupt on us. We could not get it working in-house. I found ASAP Data Recovery online because I was looking for a local company. Daniel was very helpful in arranging everything from drop off to recovery. I was able to send someone from my office to drop off the card along with a hard drive and ASAP was able to recover my footage! Daniel and ASAP are miracle workers. I brought in a hard drive that had crashed in 2011. It had been tossed from drawer to drawer through the years, but it had 2 years of family photos on it, so I knew Id want the data recovered eventually. Perfect pandemic project! No surprise, the drive ended up being quite damaged. Daniel responded quickly to my questions and clearly explained my options. He was generous with his time, patient, and professional. This is the first time I had to use data recovery and it was all worth it. My experience with ASAP Data Recovery - Timeline of events:June 2017: Went to ASAP Data recovery for a corrupted SD card from a wedding I shot. Their service was outstanding, and they were able to recover 90% of my card including the most important videos. Daniel was understanding, responsive, and provided updates.July 2020: One of my external HDs stop reading/engaging the discs. I made the error of thinking I could fix it myself watching YouTube. Big mistake! I contacted Daniel, agreed to their terms, and paid the deposit. Unfortunately, their success rate was very low for this case. I was saddened and very disappointed as many photos and video from my son growing up were on this drive. I was personally called by their head technician, Frank, and offered my data with the footage they were able to recover at no additional charge. He told me this was a unique case and something he has not seen before. He was also disappointed, and his sincerity was demonstrated by his generosity. Had a great experience with ASAP -- found them on Google looking at places near me in the midst of a data-loss crisis that threatened an upcoming deadline. On the phone, Daniel was extremely competent and reassuring and I honestly felt better about the situation right away. I dropped off my corrupted drive late on a Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend, and got confirmation that day that most or all of the data was recoverable, so I could rest easy. Do you remember back in the day when a 500MB drive cost a few thousand. Well, you can imagine my horror when I lost control and access to my 18TB of data on my external drives. I had a couple of memory cards with old family pictures. I wanted to send the pix to the cloud and found out the cards were corrupted. I really wanted the photos so looked for recovery services. Fortunately, I found the perfect place....ASAP Data Recovery. This company was responsive from start to finish. Bottom line - they did a great job and I think were able to restore all my files even though there was a hardware problem. On top of this, their price was lower than the competition, sometimes very significantly.I also think that having a local office was a big advantage. I didnt have to ship the drive with all the risks of further damage or loss that goes with that process.So why the four stars and not five? I brought them in a 4 TB drive that was pretty full. They said that they found all the files, 1.6 TB worth and that they could restore them 100%. I told them tht there must be more files, so they did another scan and found another 1TB. Still not the 3.5 TB that I expected, but they explained that the other files were Time Machine and system files, so I wasnt too worried. When I arrived to pick up the drive, they were nice enough to allow me to examine the recovered files before paying for the service. I discovered that a very significant percentage of the files were corrupt. They were surprised and asked for time to make another pass. When I arrived to pick up the drive a few days later, they had been able to restore all of these and I have not found any file that are missing or corrupted.So they actually did a truly excellent job of recovering my files. I had to take an extra trip out there and twice needed to prod them to do they job they were capable of.I would highly recommend ASAP to anyone who was comfortable supervising the job sufficiently.

I thought my data would be gone forever when my external hard drive started to click after my dog knocked it down onto the hardwood floor.My quest for a reliable data recovery company was crazy. Many companies claimed they could recover my data for a price of $199 or less, which was difficult to believe when you take the price of replacement parts into account. ASAP Data Recovery came to my rescue! Thank goodness I was able to find them after my 64 GB SD card became corrupted, and I was unable to access it on any device. I was worried that the 64 GB of wedding photos I had taken for a client were going to be lost forever. The worst feeling in the world. My Omega harddrive kicked the bucket on me, and in searching for data recovery services ASAP really stood out. Although you can ship to them, their offices are right down the street from my work.Id not had much hope of getting all my videos off my drive, which included many home movies of my grandparents, but ASAP was able to recover most of what I wanted, and then some!Highly recommend them. Daniel and ASAP really saved the day!! I bought a brand new hard drive and immediately began transferring all of my computer files onto it. Well, a week in, it wouldnt mount to ANY of my computers any more. The worst part was I had just spent a full day recording a video that I could no longer access!My husband has used ASAP in the past so we took the drive to Daniel and he let me know that there were scratches on the internal disks. I loved that I only had to pay if I decided to have them fix it and not just for the diagnosis.I decided to get it fixed and it DID take about 2 weeks BUT I didnt mind waiting. When I picked it up, pretty much EVERYTHING on the drive was salvaged!The nicest part was that, when I told Daniel how I was going to try to request a refund from the manufacturers, he printed out a form with their header stating exactly what went wrong so that I could include the form in my return!Although I hope we dont ever have to go through another data recovery process (LoL), there is no one else I would trust with my data other than ASAP.

After going through the hell that is losing my data, I finally understand why some people are reluctant to get involved with this industry. Dishonesty runs rampant when competition is scarce, and theres little doubt youll be overcharged if the company you hand your computer over to is the only one that provides hard drive data recovery services in your area. Fortunately for you and I, Los Angeles is home to an unusually high number of data recovery companies, and ASAP Data Recovery, in its life-or-death struggle to win over clientele, will be honest and wont overcharge.Two aspects of my overall experience with ASAP Data Recovery that I think are worth mentioning in this review are how they were open to working with me on a price fair enough for the both of us, and how I didnt have to pay them a penny if I was even a little bit unsatisfied with the results. Frank, the general manager and the person who handles the majority of cases, personally gave me a call when I mentioned in an email that the amount they quoted me was more than I could afford. He politely asked me what was within my budget and was willing to knock $100 off simply because he felt confident about my case (the risk that he would work on my case, but fail to recover my data and earn nothing as a result, was small). Once my data was recovered, they sat me down in front of a computer and let me take as long as I wanted to look all my data over. If I noticed that they missed a single critical file or folder, I had the privilege to walk away with my original hard drive no richer or poorer than I was when I first dropped by.I would wholeheartedly recommend ASAP Data Recovery to anyone in need of hard drive data recovery services. Great experience. Thorough communication throughout the process. They took my drive, gave it a thorough look, and gave me an estimate for repair. I could have taken my drive and walked away without paying a dime. Once I approved repairs, they got to work. After a couple days, they sent me a list of the files they had recovered. Again, if I didnt like what I saw, I could have taken my drive and walked away without paying a dime. But I did like what I saw, so I chose to the data copied to a usb flash drive (which they sell, at a reasonable price). The flash drive was ready that day! Daniel saved the day! I had a 6TB hard drive fail on me before backing it up. I tried every bit of software with some IT friends to recover it but none of them worked. I eventually brought it in to ASAP without having too much hope and a 2 days later I get ALL of my content back. ALL of it. Drive recovery is one of the worst experiences you can have so the fact I left this place not only satisfied but extremely impressed says a lot. The staff knows you are in a dark place and do everything to put your mind at ease and make sure the experience is as calm and pleasant as can be. They are always there to help, they dont waste your time or your money, they are efficient, have an amazing setup to check recovered data, have flat rates, and you dont owe them anything until they have proven they have recovered as much as possible.If youre reading this right now youre probably in a panic like I was and I can assure you these are the absolute right people to go to, especially if you are in the film industry. Came home from vacation and our computer was dead. ASAP was able to save all of the data I needed from the corrupt partition. My entire life flashed before my eyes when my external hard drive slipped out of my hands and plummeted down toward the concrete below. It hit the ground with a sickening crack that sounded like bones breaking. I dropped to my knees before it and sobbed while gently caressing its battered corpse.I may have dramatized that a bit, but that doesnt make it any less traumatizing.My ability to Google my way out of any problem is nothing to laugh at, so despite what had happened only a moment ago, I wasnt the least bit worried. I sat down in front of my computer and went to work: how to repair a clicking hard drive yielded tutorials that went way over my head, recovering data from a hard drive that was dropped gave me a splitting headache, and hard drive data recovery services made my wallet audibly gasp. NOWS a good time to start worrying.Any DIY tutorial involving computers is about as clear to me as Ancient Egyptian. I visit the Genius Bar so frequently youd think they actually serve drinks there. And the answer to your question is no, the Geniuses only knew enough about what was wrong with my external hard drive to tell me to go to a professional. At this point, I knew my destiny: the expensive option, the hard drive data recovery services option, the take-it-to-some-guy-who-knows-how-much-trouble-Im-in-and-will-hold-my-data-hostage-for-thousands-of-dollars option. Over the course of the next week, I misplaced my wallet so frequently it seemed abnormal. I suspect the little guy was trying to run away from me.I spent Saturday night speaking to representatives from data recovery companies all over California. If youre feeling socially inept, you have the option of just picking the company with the nicest-looking website and shipping your device over to them, but I wanted to make sure the people who rip me off dont sound like creeps and at least laugh at my jokes. ASAP Data Recovery was the first company I came across that met those criteria, so I decided to throw my money at them.About four days after I shipped my external hard drive out, ASAP Data Recovery received it and ran it through diagnostics. I imagine this involves a herd of technicians with thick glasses and pocket protectors taking it apart down to the last screw and prodding each piece with their fingers until they sense somethings amiss. Heres the funny part, though: they only quoted me $850. I gave them a call to tell them about the glaringly obvious mistake they had made... only to be assured that there was no mistake... no mistake... no mistake... The words echoed in my head a few extra times like they just did in yours.If ASAP Data Recovery were more than a data recovery company, if it were a being capable of love, I would most definitely put a ring on it. How they can charge literally thousands less than their competitors and continue to stay afloat is beyond me, but you wont ever hear me complain. The last thing I want to do is give them any ideas.My recovered data was transferred to a brand spanking new external hard drive and delivered directly to my doorstep in about a week and a half. And I might have developed a little phobia of taking it outside now, but thats something Ill overcome in due time, I hope. At any rate, congrats on finding this Yelp page. If youre unfortunate enough to be in a situation like mine, theres no need to snoop around the web any further looking for potential solutions, ASAP will take it from here.
