Its been over four months since I started learning to shoot at Artemis. I grew up in a non-gun culture where no one around me, including my family and friends, knew how to handle guns. I had never even touched a gun before coming to Artemis. In February, I decided to learn how to protect myself and my family. I couldnt even imagine what the classes would be like, but I fell in love with learning pistols after my first Pistol 1 class with Instructor Katherine. (I even repeated her Pistol 2 and 3 classes 5-6 times, along with other instructors classes!)Initially, I started taking just two classes individually. Then, I leveled up to Lite membership; after two weeks, I realized I would be coming to classes more than six times a month, so I upgraded to unlimited within a month. And I was right! The whole system at Artemis is incredibly well-organized for learners. The atmosphere is very familial, thanks to Sandy and Mr. Steven, who have created an excellent environment for their clients.All the instructors at Artemis are incredibly informative, unique in their experiences, and extremely patient. I have absorbed valuable lessons from each one of them. Instructor Katherine, whom I nicknamed Mama Bird, gave me an excellent foundation of essential knowledge and skills. As I advanced to Skills and Drills, I met Instructor Leo, whom I call Mama Eagle. He pushes his students to their limits with his unique charisma, letting them soar. He is a tactical magician, especially when it comes to reality-scenario-based training.Instructor Corie is very strict about fundamentals, and I always appreciate how thoroughly he checks his students basics with great patience. As time passes, I now understand why he always asks his students in every class to recite the 4 Cardinal Rules and 7 Fundamentals.I have also met other instructors, each with their own backgrounds and unique skills that I could learn from. They are all incredibly friendly and patient. I sincerely respect each and every one of them for their expertise!After rigorous training at Artemis, I finally joined the 2A - Live Fire class on a hot day with temperatures reaching 102°F. As a novice, I didnt even know how to properly put on my belt with magazine pouches and a holster. Instructor Ryan helped me every step of the way despite the sweltering heat. I enjoyed my very first live fire session for three and a half hours in this hot weather! My joy outweighed the severe weather conditions. All the instructors I’ve met at Artemis do their very best to teach their clients with the utmost knowledge and skill.Artemis is where you can learn everything from A to Z about learning guns and how to shoot safely, whether you are a total beginner or a professional looking to review your abilities. Now, I enjoy coming to Artemis to learn how to defend myself and as a recreational sport! I highly recommend this place if you want to learn how to shoot safely and handle guns efficiently!(P.s. oops.. did i forget my gentle papa bird, instructor Larry?! Actually all instructors here at Artemis are amazing! You should meet them all! 😉)

Im SO glad my husband and I went to Artemis for our classes and training. The owners and instructors are AMAZING. Everyone is professional, yet relatable, with great personalities.Steven and Sandy are a wonderful team and made us feel at ease every step of the way. The online class was full of good information, and wasnt boring at all, despite being 8 hours long. Meeting them was a pleasure. Their staff makes everything even better. Everyone is kind and so willing to help and answer questions.They have built a fantastic training program and facility. My husband and I hope to train there again someday. Its a bit of a drive for us, but definitely worth it. We dont want to go anywhere else for future needs.

I lucked out by choosing Artemis for my CCW training. The course is led by a husband-wife duo who run their business like a well oiled machine. The online classroom component is taught by the owner, who is also a practicing attorney and far more qualified than the instructors at other training locations. They made every step of training fun, informative, enjoyable, and most importantly, SAFE. I couldn’t recommend this place more for anyone having to select from the many CCW training facilities.

I cannot recommend Steven, Sandy, and the Artemis team enough. All services offered are top notch and they are a group of true patriots. You cannot go wrong with them whether you are just entering the world of firearms or youre an expert.

4 minutes agoEarlier this year I signed up for concealed carry class with artemis defense Institute To exercise my constitutionally protected right as per the second amendment. The process was explained in great detail and was very smooth. After completing the program and receiving my permit I continued to pursue my responsibility to train. I continued to use Artemis defense Institute. I knew I had other options in Orange County that were closer to my residence but I picked these folks. Steven and Sandy are very friendly and are willing to help out with any issues. my favorite Instructor is Scott. (They are all great). I will continue to train with this facility and I would highly recommend it to anybody who wishes to exercise their constitutionally protected right in their responsibility to train. - Ryan Rutledge

Not a member when I started a two-day class, but I will be by the time Im done. What an amazing training program! They dont just teach you to use your rights, but to respect them! These people KNOW THEIR STUFF! Im a relatively new to firearms and was nervous because at any other place Ive gone for training, Ive been made to feel less than worthy for my lack of knowledge. NOT HERE! If you want training, you want it here. If you dont want training, then put down the weapons.Update 4/27/28Still happy! Taken several classes aside from my plan classes. Very knowledgeable trainers, energetic, enthusiastic, and professional!

I just completed my first private digital training session at Artemis Defense and am amazed. Like most CCW folks, I felt my live fire practice was sufficient to maintain my competence and confidence when carrying on the street. But one session using real life scenarios convinced me otherwise. It’s one thing to understand the laws governing use of a weapon, it’s another to see how you react when a stranger in a parking lot pulls a knife and runs at you. What you expect your reaction to be and what it actually is are quite different but only when faced with threats in real time can you fully appreciate this. JJ (my trainer) skillfully went through all the steps applicable to reacting properly to the scenarios however, that didn’t prevent me from being killed once (digitally anyway) and wrongfully shooting an attacker once. Note to self: This is not like a videogame where the bad guy does the same thing each time…every single scenario is different. It may at first appear to be a repeat of the previous action but it’s not. They really test that 8 inches between your ears. Now I’m hooked. While my initial session landed me in jail and in the morgue…it’s far better to experience that digitally than in real life. If you have not tried this type of CCW training, make an appointment now! I can guarantee you three things:You will leave enlightened.You will be amazed how fast (beep) happens.You will love it & come back for more.This is MUST DO training for anyone engaged in EDC. JJ presented post-engagement factors I never considered and I have trained with other coaches in live fire exercises a lot and believed I was fully prepared. JJ threw real world possibilities at me that I was completely unprepared for because I never considered them. Things like, what to do if you shoot somebody in self defense and then his friends come after you? What if your attacker is unarmed but trained to kill you with martial arts? You will also be updated on the ever-changing laws applicable to you as an armed subject in the People’s Republik of Commiefornia and some of the current changes are alarming…strange new legal stuff that even applies to law enforcement engagements. Lemme tell ya, this is worth the money. Try it once…you’ll thank me later.

Artemis defense institute is a top notch training center. I highly recommend everyone who owns a gun to take Pistol 1 & 2. Even your children can take and should take the class in my opinion. If you have guns in your home you want to prepare and protect those you love. They offer date nights, ladies night, and private sessions in their state of the art equipment that doesn’t compare to anything out there. My husband and I came here for our CCW but have stayed for the unique classes and experience they provide. Better than any indoor private sessions you will find in Orange County. I’ve tried those. You can even use a Groupon for pistol 1 so theirs no excuse. Did I mention they offer free online CCW information 1x/mo and training videos. Give Artemis a try you will be thankful for it!

Took Pistol 1 class and can’t wait to come back for Pistol 2! Extremely impressed with the instructors, facilities and interactive curriculum! Very professional & astute experts in their field. Definitely an eye opener concerning public safety, responsibilities and protocols. I think everyone should be required to take these sort of classes & get certified in order to procure a firearm. (Same as a drivers license)Thank you everyone at Artemis, you’re making the world a better place!!!
