Nice dinner at this cute Italian restaurant. I really like their outdoor patio which has really warm heater on. My husband and I had Daou’s red wine and rose, we both loved them. He ordered a clam pasta, which is pretty good, it’s kind a little pricey tho. I had a Del Mar salad, it was simple and delicious. I enjoyed. Their price is not cheap, but the food, atmosphere and service are nice, so it’s kinda worthy to give a try.

Enjoyed the evening at Seasalt Del Mar. Veggies were so good we ordered a side of them for desert. Hannah was pleasant and attentive. Meal was very tasty. We enjoyed watching the egrets fishing in the lagoon across the street.

Had a wonderful time here for happy hour and dinner. Lovely views, great service (thank you Hannah), and good food; the clam pasta was a favorite. The menu changes so there is always something new and delicious to try

Awesome ambiance, service, food and drink!Unfortunately this time they didnt accept the gift card that we have purchased from Costco (last time used was 3 months ago). If its not for the gift card, we would not have known about this place and dine at least 3 times this year. A bit disappointed but food and cocktail were still very good. The busboy was very attentive, he anticipated our needs. 👍👍

We went to Seasalt Del Mar after reading the reviews. The food and ambiance of the restaurant didn’t disappoint us.Ambiance of the restaurant: we got a table outside and had a great view of the lagoon, birds, and passing-by train. The inside seating will have TV for entertainment, good for game nights. 5/5Food: very good quality food, cooked to perfection, and nice presentation!Server: seems overwhelmed. It was packed when we sat down. We waited for a good 10-15 mins before he took our drink/food orders. 3/5

Absolutely wonderful place. It has amazing views and the most delicious food Ive tasted. The staff is absolutely amazing and well mannered. I cant wait to go back.

3.5 stars. I got takeout from here this week as Ive wanted to go here for a while but plans never worked out and Ill be moving out of San Diego soon.Any way, we got the crab ravioli and healthy grill. Both were delicious but I think the crab ravioli beat the healthy grill in terms of final taste.The sauce for the ravioli was very rich and tasty. The raviolis themselves were stuffed with crab. There were 4 and it was quite filling for me, a person with a small appetite. It wont be for those with huge appetites.The health grill has perfectly seasoned and grilled veggies. What was a bit disappointing was the quantity of seafood. They have one scallop, one prawn and one piece of fresh Catch. The seafood was grilled well. I particularly liked the prawn.I was a little disappointed with the portions as this place is expensive for the portion sizes we received. For the healthy grill, in their defense, they do mention one piece of each on their menu 🤷Consider this place if youre interested in spending a little more than you normally would.

We were very pleased with our halibut and fish tacos. Especially the halibut. Great wedge salad too. Cool restaurant with views of the lagoon and passing trains. Service was great.

We tried the Seasalt restaurant in Del Mar this evening for dinner. Its under new ownership, and Laura (the new owner) also owns Villa Capri in Carmel Valley, our weekly go-to restaurant for Italian food for many years now. We love Villa Capri! Its been exciting watching Laura working on her new venture.That said, tonight was our first visit to Seasalt. The location is excellent, with a nice view of the lagoon and PCH, with the Pacific Ocean just beyond the horizon. You can dine indoors or out on the glassed in, 2nd-floor patio. We chose outside.Hannah, our server, was excellent: attentive, courteous and punctual. We had the roasted Jerusalem artichokes as an appetizer, what we usually get at Villa Capri. Perfect! Just the right amount of garlic and olive oil, roasted to perfection.My wife had the featured Sea Bass. Again, excellent, cooked to perfection. It had some marinara sauce on top, a bit overwhelming for the delicate fish; a light butter, capers, lemon and parsley would have been better. Nonetheless, it was served well by Hannah, and my wife enjoyed it.I had a standard pasta with clams. Lauras pasta is always homemade and fresh, one of the few restaurants in San Diego that makes its own pasta daily. Always good.Lauras wine list was excellent, and I had a nice Pinot Grigio with my pasta and clams. Unlike Villa Capri, Seasalt has a full bar. I was tempted to indulge, but demurred . . . although the Jameson Irish whiskey before dinner called.All in all, Seasalt was solid: excellent service; beautiful location; good food. Laura has a transformation in mind, developing Seasalt into a first-class Italian seafood restaurant in a perfect location. Thats in progress, and it will be interesting watching Seasalts transformation. As weve been loyal Villa Capri patrons for many years, so will we enjoy Seasalt as it transforms.I gave Seasalt 4 stars, as there is always room for improvement . . . and Lauras vision for Seasalt is admirable. By all means, try it out. You wont be disappointed.

I would rate this as 3.5 stars if I could. The service was okay, but not great. The food was good, but not great. The ambience was good, but not great. Maybe I would have bumped up the rating on ambience if it were not overcast, because we were seated on the patio with a view of what would have been the sunset. Service speed was good, but not great. Price is average for a seafood and sushi bistro. The Alaskan king glazed fish cost $28, and I would give it 4 stars. The spicy yellowtail roll is $10, and I give it 3 stars, with a bonus half star for the portion size. The 858 roll is $15, and I give it 3 stars. They have a decent selection of beer, wine, and sake.
