I recently had an amazing experience with Appstars customer service team. Miles M., the representative I spoke with, was absolutely fantastic. Miles is knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and went above and beyond.We had signed up with a different processing company that was refusing to return emails or phone calls after we signed up. Miles went above and beyond to help resolve the issue by reaching out to the other company and helping us to get switched over to Appstar. I truly felt like he cared about solving my problem.In the end, switching to Appstar was a great decision. Im incredibly impressed with the level of service I received from Appstar. Miles M. is a true asset to your team, and I will definitely be telling all other food trucks I know about Appstar thanks to Miles’ exceptional customer service.

I switched over to Appstar with the help of Stephen Murphy. Nothing but a great experience. I wanted to wait a little before leaving a review because the past processing companies love to give you the run around. But he took the time to help me really understand how credit card processing worked. On top of getting lower rates and saving money hes been quick to respond to any messages or calls despite the 3 hour time difference. The switch from one company to another is always a hard trigger to pull, but he made it as painless and seamless as possible.

Ive worked with several different point of sale systems and processors over the years, and this is my best experience so far! Sam did a great job of being patient with me, while also being available for my many questions. I feel that I have a much better customer support team than my previous system, Sam always responds promptly and I have options of whom to reach out to depending on my issue. The Clover system is easy to operate and I find it easier for my customers to navigate when paying as well! Thanks Sam!

I was so hesitant about switching our merchant account and over the last 4 months Aaron has patiently educated me on how “App Star” could save our business a ton of processing fees. I was actually going to cancel my contract with them just going with someone cheaper. Then they gave me my own representative and he was amazing no pressure to stay with them but he looked into my account and got me the best deal. We have used AppStar for a number of years as our go-to for figuring out our payment processing situation for both our brick-and-mortar, taking our sales on the road as well as on-line shopping for our customers. They have always been responsive and knowledgable. We recently had an unpleasant situation with an unhappy client and a chargeback claim that was presented to us for review. Harry Mort, director of risk and compliance, walked us through the steps and explained why and why not through it all in order to appropriately resolve the issue. His knowledge of the process made a very stressful situation much less so. Additionally, he has helped us take steps to help prevent claims such as this in the future.

I really regret creating an account with Appstar. Their fees are too high for a very small business and they trap you in long contracts with SEVERE fees if you want to leave ($500).However on a positive note, their customer service is good. I dealt with Robert Kim when I tried to cancel my contract and he was very helpful trying to lower my fees and helped me get a partial refund on my PCI compliance questionnaire.

This place is the worst. The fees are more than 50% of the amount I prossessed. Then I tried to cancel and they say I have a 60 month lease. It appears they added a 0 to the end of the 6 after it was signed. Stay away from unless you want lose 50%

Appstar is so so so so bad of a company 😫 to start off, I applied for clover on their direct site but later found out a company named Appstar picked up the sale, unsure how that was possible. Clover site says you have 30 days to return product if you dont like the service. After two weeks I tried returning the device thinking it would be better to go with bank of Americas pos system since I a am a member there. Appstar said I could not return the device and that I had to pay over $5,000 to break contract. At that point I said for get it Ill keep it. Random withdrawal amounts of $300+ $400+ multiple times monthly taking from my account when it was agreed upon to only have withdrawal amounts of around $100. After so many un agreed withdrawals I blocked all ACH holds due to fraudulent activity. I have money stuck on my clover pos system that they refuse to transfer to my bank. They will not transfer the funds nor will they give me a straight answer as to what will happen with the funds. At this point they give me a list of requirements for them to deposit the funds into my account. I completed everything they requested and I still can not get them to deposit the funds. Lastly they ask my bank to sign a bank letter which the bank says its illegal for them to do, so at this point Appstar is saying they will not send me the funds, however they are still billing me for a service I cannot use! Ive never been scammed so bad and I couldnt tell you how much headache and pain they have put me through just to scam me. No on will give me a straight answer as to what happens next. They stole all my money and this should definitely be illegal!!! I cannot open my restaurant or take any point of sale orders because they will bully me for every dollar that enters the pos. This company is extremely dangerous, should be banned, doing business. Clovers reputation is bad for allowing Appstar to take advantage of business owners. STAY FAR AWAY AND PAY ATTENTION TO ALL THE REVIEWS!!!

The salesman didnt go over with me the contract obligations. after 3 days I didnt want it he started to ignore my phone calls I lost $100 for activation fee and I went and blocked them from accessing my bank account they still managed to take additional payments of $495 without my authorization so I lost a total of $600 stay away

Update!Marc Brown is a real asset to Appstar! Hes very knowledgeable in the product and will give you all the help that you need! Im very please with how Marc has helped me from switching to Appstar.I’m updating my review. I still agree that Marc Brown was very helpful at the time. However, AppStar was not upfront with their fees. The “interchange fees “ is OUTRAGEOUS! I was promised 2% or less for possessing fees. I paid more than 3.3%. I was told that I should ask my customers NOT to use their rewards card for payment! Also, I was told the only way I could use their service is if I have at the minimum of a card reader even though all my business is done online. I was told the fee for that card reader was all built into the pricing he quoted me. I was told this is required. I found out that a company that I do business with uses AppStar and DID NOT have to get the card reader. I feel that they are predatory and take advantage of their customers. I would steer clear of this company. Doing business with them was one big mistake and made me lose my trust.

He was straight forward and I explained to him how I was screwed over twice actually by other merchant processors so I was a bit skeptical. Him and his team helped explain everything to me and made me feel safe with signing up with them! I have a closed acct 1/2021. I returned credit card merchant but they take out every month $119.92 for 5 year. I asked refund money. They said never closed. I have to go bank stop payment. It was mostly lies, as they failed to deliver on most of what they promised and seem unconcerned and with any of my requests or complaints, but they sure are more than willing to keep charging me every month. Sales rep was very shady. Promised a lot. Lesson learned: ONLY WHATS WRITTEN MATTERS. They likely train them to tell you whatever (no contract, well waive the cancellation, etc), but then hit you with $450 cancellation fee. So we just let the account expire naturally. But then they hit you with the inactivity or minimum volume or whatever, so you WILL end up paying $450 roughly if you have 6 months left regardless. We closed a business but theyll get that unearned money regardless. There are TONS of better rates with legitimate no contract, no fee companies. This is a legacy way of doing business.Having said that, their rates were not the worst. Maybe better than many offers at the time including my own bank. However, the new way of doing business has better options. Incidentally, Im NOT talking about PP or SQ. Those are very rapey. 2.99% fixed is too high!Theyll tell you theyll match other offers. But then you say I have net 2.3% and they say they wont match it. Theyll match the processing fees, but then the nickels and dimes add up quickly. I say I dont have a monthly statement fee, PCI fee, transaction fee, this fee, that fee, bonus fee, etc. And the rep says well, we cant match any of that. Its just the processing rate. I want the bottom line. Theyll cherry pick the one thing to match and then make it back on the extra non-negotiable fees. So their offer to match is a joke.So the processing rates werent bad, but the contract and sky high cancellation fee is old school and should be a deal breaker. And DO NOT trust the sales reps words or chicken scratch on a paper or fake contract. Only the real contract matters. And why have to read fine print? Find an online, no fee, flat 2.3% type processor. We have one now with our other company and its legit! Volume x 2.3%. Thats it. Not a page of extra charges and misc fees and that ridiculous PCI compliance fee.Were paying $80/month right now to NOT use them and let it be dormant! Oh, and their reps were generally pretty combative on the phone, tech support was iffy frequently, but the final call to cancel the account was met with a friendly helpful rep. So maybe theyve improved on that a bit. And you have to cancel WITHIN 30-90 days. Miss that window and theyll bend you over for another $450 or extend the contract for a year. Yes, its all in writing to be fair, but why do that when there are so many better, modern options. NO CONTRACTS.

At our business we have used Appstar processing for over 10 years. They have been superb from the very beginning. At one time scammers took over our processing but Appstar saved us quickly! This is a bad company. You can do better. They set me up with a processor that held my funds for 30+ days and then dropped us. Had to refund all the customers I could possibly recharge. The rest Im told will be held for another 6 months before we get it. This put my company in a major hole.

I got the best price available with a guarantee (and a full explanation on how the extremely confusing merchant services charge structure works) and any time I had any issues, Robert Kim and the AppStar team quickly handled it. It was such a relief to have trust that someone would either fix my issue or get me to someone who would. No countless hours waiting on hold. I felt my time and my money was respected. We fought switching to mobile credit card devices for years. However after talking to Tim LeBeau at Appstar, we finally made the switch to Swipe Simple. The best decision we ever made! So easy to use. Tim and his team walked us thru everything. Tim answered all my questions and even the questions that I didnt know I needed to ask. I was contacted by Appstar about switching over to use there card processing. They had set an appointment for a rep who was supposed to be my area to meet with me. They cancelled less than a hour before they were supposed to meet. They then wanted me to send them my billing records so they could give me a review of my fees over the phone. They asked me to email the paperwork to them so they could fully review my statements. I did not get it emailed right away and they called me several times a day for the next week or so to try to get me to email my statements to them. I thought this was a bit aggressive so the next time they called I happened to look them up online and found very poor reviews of Appstar. When I asked the person on the phone about the reviews and the concerns he stated the people giving the poor reviews just didnt understand the service and they didnt understand the contract details because they didnt listen or pay attention well enough when it was explained to them when signing up with them. This answer was very disturbing to me and as a result I told him based on the reviews and complaints outlined in those reviews I was going to stay with my current company. He abruptly ended the call and hung up on me. I would be very wary of Appstar and any services they may provide to you and your business. Customer service and customer satisfaction should be important in any business not just the high pressure sale.

I have been with AppStar for a few years, Each year improves in service and good. The only reason I joined AppStar was a friend (Will Farrell) asked me to, I have been completely satisfied. Robert Kim has valiantly ridden in to assist me in my moments of distress and resolved issues with equipment and/or my own error. The terms of my contract have never changed and since I dislike negotiating that has been another blessing!
