Needs so much help. Has lost connection with our bank numerous times, hence requiring us to manually enter each transaction. Support has done nothing to actually remedy the situation. There is no mobile app even for the text service, so you can’t send a quick message to members (unless you’re in front of a desktop) without fighting safari to get it sent, and even then their website is not mobile friendly so it’s basically a waste of your time. If you use tags they charge $30 per category of tag that you use by doing this they took our monthly cost from $169 to a stellar $259. Considering QuickBooks…

My experience with Aplos started out to be exactly what my client was looking for. As we started the migration of data and implementation process things changed. We paid over $3k to get the software up and running, when asked for the data to BE download onto a excel spreadsheet and sent to our implementation rep, the only thing that was uploaded into Aplos was the vendor/contact names. We spent 6+ months trying to get up an running. To this day we have not been able to use the software. We found it to be more complex than necessary and the reports needed was not available. When we canceled the contract we asked for at least 50% of the price we paid to be refunded since it hasnt been a whole year and was told we do not refund any money. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS PRODUCT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.

As a non profit with many donors, we love Aplos! The Aplos program is easy to understand and implement (great training webinars and videos). Aplos is so much easier to use than other accounting software that we have used in the past (Intuit QuickBooks) and meets all our needs. Our data is always easy to access and preparing reports can be done quickly and efficiently. We love the easy entry of contributions and the sending of receipt letters. Another very important reason is the exceptional customer service. Aplos customer service is always very responsive, answers all our questions, and assists us in all facets of our accounting procedures.

Edited Review (4 stars): Once I posted my review, I was immediately contacted by Aaron in support who listed to all my frustration and immediately requested to make amends. Aaron jumped into action and engaged support, who within 48 hours had completed 1 of 2 tasks needed to resolve my issues. After he did his part, I was able to do my part and move on to issue 2. Within another 72 hours issue #2 was resolved and we were finally up and running. My only advice to the Aplos support staff is, email isnt always best. Pick up the phone and find out what exactly is going on b/c not everyone comes from a tech background and by responding via email with technical info and requests is like speaking another language. Im grateful to Aaron for is assistance but am sad that it came only after I made my original review (below). Its shouldnt have come down to this.

Our church has been an Aplos customer since 2015, and as the Treasurer I love this product. It is specifically tailored to Churches and other Non-Profit Organizations. The functionality and layout are very intuitive, the reports are easy to generate, the ability to track contributions as part of regular weekly offerings is terrific, and the customer service both online and over the phone is responsive. Also, having a cloud-based product that my Assistant Treasurer and other key people can view and make live updates to is very efficient.

As a 501(c)3 organization, we do need to be frugal with our donations. I have been with this ministry for 12 years and was using MS Excel for tracking our finances, but I wanted something more that would do reports, etc without me having to do the merges of MS. I still dont know how to do a pivot table!I considered using Vickey Boatrights speadsheets from Free Church Accounting, but figured I could create my own. At that time I wasnt familiar enough with cloud computing to try it. This was before her first husband died and well before she started endorsing your company.I looked at Quicken, but found it expensive and I wanted a software package in the cloud, so I, of course, could use it anywhere. I looked at others, but they had the same restrictions.I have been using Aplos for a few years. I believe I was Googling free accounting software or on-line accounting software or both, and came across your product. I dont even remember if it had a free trial, its been that long.I have been very pleased with the help I have received from Alex Acree. Very patient and knowledgeable.I am, by no means, a bookkeeper, much less an accountant. I viewed your tutorial on fund accounting and got it so messed up, I finally gave up and asked Alex to clear it out for me. I dont mess with it now!I probably dont use one half of the functionality of the program. We dont have employees. I do use the contacts because of our donors. I integrate my bank transactions and utilize a few reports.I have stayed with Aplos because it does what I need, however, I discovered something that I didnt know and am concerned about my continuing usage of the software. So much so, I used my banks financial tools for January and February to see if I could work around the problem. However, I find a flaw with their system and after over an hour on the phone with them, they told me they couldnt fix it.Needless to say, I uploaded the transactions and got caught up.

The customer service here has really declined. Every since it became under new ownership reaching customer service has been terrible. Good luck all.

Easy to navigate and run all accounting transactions. Report functionality and online donate setup is pretty easy for a beginner. Donation module is a bit confusing, and costly for a small start up, but they indicated a special price for smaller firms, which is good. Overall, a great company to go with for accounting if you just started your non-profit.

We chose Aplos because of the multi-user aspect of it. We are a church plant that does not have a central office and only one employee. Aplos online multi-user access allows multiple hands to touch our church finances and help out.

I appreciate the opportunity to tell you how we ended up choosing Aplos for our accounting needs.Several years ago, I began working in the office of my church after the former secretary moved. It didnt take me long to see that improvements could be made in the accounting practices that were in place (using a program for contributions written by a former member & using Quickbooks for accounting). One day, while cleaning out a closet, I discovered a box containing accounting software. Knowing no better, and knowing NOTHING at all about fund accounting, I got that software up and running. Note that ALL technical support for this software was on a paid basis (& quite expensive), so I spent the next two years trying to learn both fund accounting and this particular software as much on my own as possible and only calling for help when I hit a brick wall! Then, just as I thought I had somewhat of a handle on this whole process, I got a notice from the company that our software was no longer going to be sold or have tech support available for it! (I need an emoji here for someone pulling out her hair!) Through all of this, I would often think to myself, Theres got to be a better way! or Theres got to be a program out there that will let me do so-&-so.TaDa!!!! Heres where Aplos comes in! I began to search the internet for cloud-based fund accounting options, and the rest is history! Not only is your product superior, but your customer service and tech support are the best available, Im convinced. I especially like the way you listen to concerns and are open to changes to your software as your customers needs grow.Ministry Coordinator
