Hands down the best vet you could take your furry friend to! They have so much flexibility with their schedule unlike other vets where you have to wait weeks or even months just to get an appointment. I’ve been taking my both pups there since they were 9 weeks old and they’ll soon to be 4 years old! The doctors are very communicative and always make sure you understand everything they did for your pet if you had any specific concerns. I live in Sonoma County now and I will always drive down for my pets. Definitely recommend this vet for new pet owners or if you’re looking to switch vets. The staff there is always so kind and helpful as well. Family owned vet.

Outrageous pricing! I got decent service from this vet until I asked for an international travel certificate. This is nothing else but a form they fill out. It’s done electronically and sent to the authorities. $429.For what? They do charge extra for the exam. They charge extra for the vaccination. So 429 is basically to fill out a Form online and send it electronically to the affiliates. And that’s it. Punching a few keys on a computer doesn’t require $429 worth of service.They can Get away with it because this is a time sensitive matter and we have no choice but doing it if you want to travel. It makes us feel like a prisoner. Not exactly a good experience.

I took my 13 year old dog, Loki, in for a check-up. Teeth cleaning was recommended. The labs drawn showed that he had elevated liver enzymes which was not present the year before. I was quickly called and a recommendation was made to get him in for an ultrasound right away. A 10cm mass was discovered in his liver.I brought Loki to a surgery specialist who did a lobectomy and removed the mass. it turned out to be benign but growing quickly.Had this not been discovered, giving me a chance to choose to intervene, I most surely would have lost him to this condition unexpectedly.Loki has healed quite nicely and is well on his way to his 14th birthday. Dr. Dogra and staff saved my boys life!!

I have four senior dogs Lolita, Gordo, Capito and Blanquita and I’ve been coming to Dr. Dogra’s clinic for a long time. My dogs receive the best care from Dr. Dogra all the time and the staff at Animal Medical Center is wonderful . The reception people are always so warm and caring especially Taylor and Christie, Dr. Nadra and Dr. Sophia are also wonderful . Dr. Dogra is always there for me and my dogs and he always calls me back with any questions I have. I highly recommend them for their caring and warm service.

I have two miniature Shinalzers Murphy and Phoebe . They have been at animal Medical Center in San Rafael since they were a puppies . One is now 14 years old and the other 10 years old . We are so grateful for Dr Dogra . Every problem they had in the past, always it has been treated and overall they are happy and health . The stuff also are very friend and helpful. Just gratitude for everything they have done for us .

Unreal! In the current economic environment, pricing will always be a topic of conversation. This business was the only business that was open to having a transparent and honest conversation about the costs of having our puppy spayed. We made multiple calls to multiple vets regarding pricing as we are new puppy owners and do not know the costs for this procedure. Every location we called requires that we bring in our puppy for a consultation for a big cost. Then they would let us know if they could do the procedure and how much it would cost. They would not disclose any other information.When we called this business, they were so kind and answered all of our questions. They even let us know that there could be some additional costs. We really appreciated their transparency and this is why we went with them for our puppies procedure. In the end, it wasn’t even about the cost - it was that this business was willing to answer our many questions. The procedure went so well! Our puppy is doing really well. We are so happy we went with this business and we will continue to go them for all of our puppies needs.

I recently changed vets and couldnt be happier with Dr. Dogra. He is patient with both my dog and I and gently suggests what he would recommend with no pressure. Their prices for service are lower than my previous vet and the service is equal or better. It is certainly easier to get an appointment! If you are looking for a vet, give him a try!

Took our puppy Rollo here for his first vet checkup and rabies vaccine. They were all so kind and professional! The doctor spent time explaining things to us and making sure we were aware of all our options regarding his health. I was not aware that they aren’t allowing people inside due to Covid until we dropped our pup off. Not a huge issue, but would’ve been nice to know beforehand. Other than that, very impressed and satisfied. I am confident that they are taking excellent care of the animals they look after. We will be returning for sure!

I brought my two cats for a wellness visit to animal medical center because of the amazing reviews that they have. I can say that the first visit went really well. The staff are friendly and the vet answered all of the questions I had about my two cats. When I scheduled the appointment, they informed me of the price and it was very accurate to what I paid at the end of my visit. I am definitely bringing my cats here for future visits. Would highly recommend this place for anyone with pets!

We have been taking our pets to Animal Medical Center for a few years. Dr. Sharma and Dr. Dogra have always provided us with excellent service. They not only treat our pets, send them home and forget about them; they follow up with text messages and if necessary they call to see how they are doing.And its not only the doctors who provide good service, but Tyler at the front desk is always willing to help. When he answers the phone or when he is at the office, we know that we will get a call back or things will get done. He always follows up and we know that our messages and concerns will be addressed if Tyler is there.

We brought our girls, Beanie and Callie, for their 1st teeth cleaning….and extractions….was way overdue. We were very appreciative of staff to let us know their findings and associated costs for the required extractions before performing the work. So many were required…kind of shocked us initially but understood that they were required for the health of our girls. The staff provided clear instructions on take home medications and checked up on us everyday afterwards to ensure no complications with our small dogs. Their teeth is soooo clean and no more bad breath. Beanie stopped snoring in her sleep after the cleaning/extractions😂. Great caring place. Highly recommended. We came here from SF because it was recommended by a friend.

My dog Lola, has been going to animal medical center in San Rafael for 4 years and Ive always been pleased. I recently had to bring her for a foxtail that was in between her toes and got infected. The vet was able to successfully get it out without surgery, which I was very thankful of. The Vets are very kind and spend time talking with you and explaining everythings. Dr. Dogra, Dr. Sharma, Taylor, and the rest of the team here are great. My dog doesnt exactly like going to the vet, but I know hes never had a bad experience here because he is not afraid to go in. Last week was the first time in 3 years that I actually accompanied him inside and he was very relaxed. Dr. Dogra is great with him and always informs me of options for testing and care that wont break the bank. He really looks out for his clients and their fur babies. Even though I live in San Ramon at the moment, I dont mind the trek to San Rafael to get great care and great service at a reasonable price!

My dog is older(12+) and needs special care when going to the vet in general-not to mention going to get his teeth cleaned or extracted. This is the 4th time we went to the Medical Center of San Rafael. They were wonderful about following up and sending his medical records to my doggie’s veterinarians (both his primary and his specialist at UC Davis). I really appreciate how they seemed to care about us and give him all the care he needed. He did have to get 6 teeth out this visit which is the first time he needed any out since his first visit when he needed 9 teeth out. He seems much better now since getting the teeth out.

My dog is my best friend, so when our previous veterinarian retired and sold his practice a few years ago, I agonized over choosing a new veterinary team to entrust with Sonics care. Im extremely glad that I decided to put my faith in the Animal Medical Center team in San Rafael.During our very first visit, Dr. Dogra noticed that one of Sonics medications was actually not meant for long-term use, and prescribed a safer alternative. Id originally just asked him to renew the prescription, but instead he caught the error of our previous vet. Right away, I had confidence that this team paid attention to detail and were thorough in their work.Prior to this year, Sonics health had been pretty stable, and he mostly just needed routine health checks and vaccines. A few times we had to bring him in for minor injuries and ailments. Weve never had any issues getting appointments on short notice, and overall weve been very satisfied with the level of care, pricing, and overall customer experience. Booking and checking-in to appointments online is a huge plus, and is always an easy and straightforward process. Theyre always very prompt to follow-up. The ability to email and text the clinic is amazing. A few times, Ive sent photos of ailments that I was unsure about, and the doctor was able to tell me from the photos whether I needed to bring him in for an exam, or how to treat him at home. Since we drive up from the city, its very much appreciated!Unfortunately, earlier this year Sonic received a diagnosis for mast cell cancer.I discovered the tumour on a Tuesday night; Wednesday morning they had us in for an exam and cytology, by Thursday we had the positive result for cancer, by Friday theyd found a specialist who could perform the difficult surgery, and on Monday (not even a week since its discovery) the tumor was removed. I was completely distraught in the time following his diagnosis, not knowing what to do to give him the best chance of beating it. The team stayed in close communication the entire time to help me navigate the situation. The doctor explained that due to the tumour location, it would be hard to remove the mass with clean margins using standard techniques, but he knew of an advanced technique that could give a higher chance of complete excision. However, only a specialist could perform this type of surgery. The doctor worked very hard to expediently arrange a surgeon for the procedure, even calling me well after the clinics closing hours to make this happen faster. I truly cant thank him enough for doing that.Thanks to the doctors recommendations and efforts, the surgery was a huge success, but the healing process that followed was still incredibly long and difficult due to the location of the surgery. For the next few weeks, Sonic was in and out of the clinic for rechecks and post-op care. Everything was always fully explained to me, and care instructions were always very clear. I would send progress photos daily, so the doctor could supervise the healing and give timely advice. Not once did the team make me feel like I was asking too much of them or bothering them with my many updates and questions. It made such a difference that they were so accommodating, helpful, and organized during this huge collaborative effort.The recommendations theyve made for specialized care have also been fantastic. Besides the surgeon, we also needed an oncologist for Sonic and they guided us towards a really incredible choice (even when I initially resisted because I had a different one in mind, they gently nudged me in a better direction... and they were so right)!I dont have the words to explain how grateful I am to the entire team for everything theyve done for us. Writing this review is quite literally the least I can do. You wont regret putting the wellbeing of your precious animals in their highly competent & compassionate hands! From the doctors, to the technicians, to everyone in-between: this is an all-star team thats extremely good at what they do. I cant recommend them enough!

We have a very nervous and reactive adult rescue dog who is fearful of strangers and certainly does not want anything to do with the vets office. Last week we went in for a necessary blood draw, knowing our dog would need to go under full sedation at this point (after several previous attempts where our pup was just too anxious to allow anyone to touch him). The AMC staff were incredible. They were so patient, trusted my knowledge of my dogs behavior, and took the time to let our pup warm up to the nurse for as long as it took for him to feel comfortable with progressively more contact. We even got an unexpected visit from our dogs most loved nurse, who helped me keep our dog calm while the other was able to get the sedation injection done. From there, everything was smooth sailing--Dr. Dogra stayed in close contact with me and kept him comfortable throughout, and did everything possible to minimize the amount of stress he was under.AMC is always willing to quote itemized prices for everything before they do the procedure, which is also something i really appreciate. I always have such good experiences when I call to schedule or ask questions. I recommend them to anyone seeking a vet in Marin.

Great experience at this vet! We were previously going to a different local vet who recommended a dental cleaning and quoted an exorbitant price. In shock, we asked around and several neighbors recommended AMS. Sure enough, they quoted us a much more reasonable price, with great transparency about the components of the cost. Every element of the dental work was smooth and professional, from the interactions with the office staff, to the phone call from the vet to discuss whether or not xrays were needed, to the clear discharge instructions. We even got both a call and a text the next day from the office to check on how our dog was doing. Best of all, our dog sailed through the procedure and now has clean teeth and fresh breath again! Were pleased and will be transferring to AMS for all or veterinary care.

I have had very good experiences with Animal Medical Clinic in San Rafael. I do my own grooming for my doodles but hate doing the nails. They did it for me for $20 a piece. Well worth the money. So for the medical care has been very good. Wish they had weekend and emergency care. Emergencies rarely happen Monday through Friday 8-5.

The staff here is so great and patient with both of my dogs. The office is easy to get to, right off of 101 North, with plenty of parking. Theyre doing a great job with social distancing and safety guidelines. People stay in the car and pets go in; my nervous dog comes back all smiles and relaxed, so I know theyre doing their best job with kindness. Everyone is friendly, efficient and professional with check-ins and other communications. Im so happy they have been open for my pups needs even though our visits were routine.

I visited my dad 6 months ago and during that trip I noticed his dog, who I helped him adopt, seemed to have a rather obvious mammary tumor. I asked him about it and he said he had just taken her to the vet and they didn’t say anything about it. He emailed the vet after I showed it to him and the vet said they didn’t notice it and wouldn’t worry about it. Fast forward 5 months, and my stepmom finally convinces my dad to get a second opinion. They take her to another vet who tells them she has rather obvious malignant mammary tumors and will need an operation immediately. They have x-rays done to make sure the cancer hasn’t spread too much and unfortunately discover it’s already spread to her lungs, and it’s now too late to operate. If the vets at animal medical center san rafael had done their job, maybe my dad’s dog wouldn’t be dying.

The doctor is very patient and thoughtful. The staff is amazing! I’ll never look for another clinic, because every time I need them they are ready to help. Even if they don’t have any appointment time, they try to find a solution to the case. I love how they take care of my cats and they also call the day after the consultation to see how my cat is doing.The doctor always give me more than one treatment option and has the patience to explain all the medical stuff in simple words so I can understand.I recommend this clinic for everyone!!

They were great with my puppy. It was his first visit to a vet and he was very nervous and anxious. He was made to feel comfortable even though I wasnt able to go in with him due to Covid restrictions I was kept up to speed as to everything they were doing, how he was doing and the staff and the Vet called me throughout the visit. He was a very happy puppy when I picked him up and everytime we walk by the Vet office he wants to stop and say hello to the staff which are kind and courteous and are very helpful answering my questions and addressing my concerns. I love that I have been taking my dog here since I got him. They’re amazing and tentative. Excellent care. My 7 year old cat was seen at the clinic. I called and and one hour later was able to take her in on an emergency basis. I was in and out of the office in less than an hour. My cat was exhibiting signs of a urinary track infection. Her prognosis was explained in detail. I was given the choice to administer antibiotics myself at home or have the doctor give her a one time shot good for 14 days. Of course I chose the later. My cat didn’t even notice because the vet handled the situation so well. I would highly recommend Animal Medical Center of San Rafael. Courteous, kind and gentle people! I followed Dr. Sharmas instructions and gave my guy the prescribed medication for two weeks and his health issue seemed to be 100% corrected. Its been another two weeks now and Im thrilled to say all is well.

I first came here one year ago when we moved from another city. I was worried that this vet would not be as good as our usual one. I can say with certainty, one year later, that this place (specifically Dr. Dogra) is amazing! My three dogs have received the best care I have ever had in any other veterinary office. The front desk is always friendly and eager to help as well. I am very particular with my “children” pups and Dr. Dogra and his team always show the outermost effort to ensure our pets are not just healthy but rather happily thriving! If you want to trust your vet, bring them to Dr. Dogra! Some information I obtained from their website: he has been a vet for over 15 years, has spent over 7 years in conducting research in the fields of Diagnostic Pathology and Drug discovery. I had a same day appointment, even on a weekend. The exam was at a very inexpensive cost and the vet didnt try to drive up the cost. Gave me different options and made a recommendation. He was very empathetic and I can tell he truly cares about the animals. I will definately be changing vets. I moved here from Sacramento and its hard to find a vet I can trust, so I drive to Sac as needed. No more, i found a caring vet for my dogs needs.

I highly recommend Dr. Dogra and his staff A.M.C.S.R. My visit was for my girlfriends dog. My girlfriend was quite sick and it appeared her pup had a serious issue as well. The staff got me an appointment immediately that day. Dr. Dogra eased my mind as well as giving me an extended amount of his time. He answered my copious amount of questions, I wanted to do the best for the pup and of course look like a hero at home too.What was potentially a serious illness was treated over period of two weeks and all is well (alas, Im still not a hero). I appreciate the time and effort as well the gentle manner of the Doctor and his staff towards me and the pup during our visits. Also for taking my calls to them when I got nervous.
