The on location personnel are less than friendly or helpful. The announcements over the loudspeaker are nothing but confusing. And if youll be on the train more than 6 hours, dont expect to be on time

The Santa ana transportation center no longer has attendants to purchase tickets even for grey hound but you can catch trains and greyhound here just pay on themSo this Fullerton hub is very busy and have attendants at windows at all times even people outside by the metro kioskThe San Diego line is temoryly down do have attendance to guide you to the amtrack buses

From Fresno to Anaheim was good for my first time ever traveling via train. However, I missed my early AM train home, but the Anaheim stations Amtrak windows were not in business at this time, and their phone system wasnt working either leaving me stranded. I ended up walking to a near hotel and didnt hear from Amtrak until 6PM that night. I was thankful to be able to exchange my ticket with no added fees, except of course the extra night a the hotel.

I got there guided by Google and wanting to take the train. They told me to hurry up because it was about to leave the station and that I would have to cross the bridge. The problem is that, when you walk through the bridge, its not clear which way to go in order to get to the other side. Then I ran only to realize too late that I had taken the wrong path. They need to clearly indicate, maybe with graphics, how to get to the other side of the bridge.

Fun place to go when you want to take a train to San Diego, LA, or beyond. Its even fun if you just want to come down and watch the trains...or people...or both. Close to Fullertons surprisingly active nightlife, too. Come on down, and see what everyone is talking about.

Software used by agents, and especially 3rd party agents, are far from being client friendly.The processing agents provide is much appreciated. But that the software tools agents must use, do not provide the automation needed, is a huge waste of agent labor, and client effort to resolve travel issues.Because of a lack of expert software available to Amtrak agents, it takes 3 Amtrak agents to resolve scheduling issues 1 airline agent resolves.There is no beep, sound of assurance, when agent has client on-hold. Thats 10 minutes of silence on-hold while agent is processing, that is justifiably interpreted by client as a dropped call. This translates into lost clients. And agents having to process the same client multiple times for the same issue.This is the result of micro-management. An administrative mafia that stagnates company growth. Entrenching positions that allocate positions and resources. Cultivating incompetence in administration. Cultivating Group Think, and having growth projects fail for unforeseen reasons. Wasting limited growth opportunities.Every employee should capture innovation relationships. Diversity in knowledge is essential for growth. Search: Rever InnovationWhy am I doing business with a third party when I am logging into my Amtrak account?Agent we talked to initially, had no access to our information and kept asking for personal information. Amtrak already has our information. So we hung up.We tried calling directly. The agent was cryptic. We could not get anywhere and they dropped us mid call. Later we found out the long silent wait was because agents take 10 to 20 minutes and more to manipulate the software; no automation to quickly find diverse options.We tried a 3rd time, a different route to contact an agent, and finally got an agent that had our personal information already, and they made the booking.Our train was pulled out of service. So from San Luis Obismo to Oakland, we were put on a bus. Though much cleaner and better smelling than Greyhound. No table. The tight leg room still caused my legs toisbeep, amp. I cant imagine the painful experience it would be for a tall person.European buses are a joy. Why are our bus systems so dysfunctional?

The lady who works on 3/8/2022 Tue morning shift is very rude, and yelled to passenger who asked about the platform question politely..Amtrak delayed 20 min .. be aware if you have a tight schedule.

Really enjoy the Fullerton Amtrak station. They have a little cafe there as well. Nice palm tree-lined station. Good location. Close to everything. Transportation is easy.

I think the departure for San Diego will be from track 1 platform, but I think it would be better to ask the person at the counter.Strange people and homeless people often invade the surrounding areas and concourses, so I think its better to wait for the train in the waiting room until the last minute early in the morning or at night.I think business class is relatively quiet and better since there is not a big difference in price. The inside of the car is a little cold even in winter, so be careful! !
