American Smog Check is conveniently located right off the main road, their parking is clearly marked and the shop itself is very clean. The tech working was professional and courteous and my vehicle was checked in and tested in a timely manner! I was kindly given information on the date my registration would go through and was given the direction to the nearest dmv kiosk. An A+ business indeed!!

Super quick service and efficient service! The service rep offered me some water while I needed to get an emissions test done. There wasnt a wait and took about 15 minutes so I was in and out pretty quick. You can also get $5 off by checking in on Yelp too.There are a lot of cars in this area getting work done too so parking can be a little bit difficult. Luckily, I was able to get parking right in front.

I had come across his business when he was at a different location many years ago & had found him 1-2 years later when I needed a smog check done for my vehicle. I’m back now with my husbands car & will return in two weeks again with mine. He is fast, efficient, straight forward & such a genuinely nice man. The business is well kept & very clean.

I have a Porsche Boxster and had been having trouble getting through smog. Originally I went to another check center and failed. The fellow who tested my car there gave me very bad advice on how I needed to drive the car. After doing what he told me and even following drive cycle instructions I found online for Porsche 981 versions, I went back and still failed because the catalyst and oxygen sensors were not ready.Frustrated I took the car into the dealer and they did their magic. Then based on other great reviews of American Smog Check and its proximity to the dealership, I decided to take my Porsche Boxster here instead. To my amazement Ali quickly asked me if I had driven the car in a while as soon as I had pulled up. Apparently... especially during this time of covid many cars just arent driven enough.I told Ali about my previous smog check experience and that I had just got the car back from the dealer... hence he felt it would pass since the dealer probably fixed whatever the issue was and got it ready. Notice the subtle difference though... Ali wasnt rushing to take my money... even if he thought the probability of me passing was low. That is SO different than many other smog centers.I mean talk about an honest guy, Ali told me before we even started the testing that like 90% of Porsches he was getting had failed... again likely due to them sitting too long in this era of covid. So just on his honesty alone I had to write a great review of this place, and I told Ali he got himself a new customer. Although this smog center is a bit farther from my place than the others I went to initially, its definitely my smog spot from now on... and I cant recommend it enough.Shaoky

Amazing center! Great service! We have been taking out familys vehicles here for over a decade and always had a positive experience. Dont know why it never occurred to me to leave a review but better late than never!Ali, the technician, is friendly, pleasant, and well-skilled. Also the waiting area is very comfortable and clean. Yes, there is also free WiFi!Heads up, afternoons are actually less busy than mornings. So thats usually when we visit. We will definitely be bringing our cars back for the next oil and smog check and everything in between!

I had a problem that needed to be repaired before the Smog Check would go through successfully. He was very patient and helpful, and I was able to take the time needed to get the repair done and he did a free retest for me. Very friendly and business like. Needed to take my car to a STAR certified smog station to renew my registration and this was the closest. $55 total, no appointment needed, and the attendant was friendly, quick, and efficient.One thing might be good to know, if your car is on the older side (year 2000 and older) I saw a sign saying you do need to make an appointment.Im pretty happy with the service and I would go again.

The service I have received at this location and the former location on Manhattan Beach Blvd has been excellent. One time, one of our cars did not pass initially because it had just been serviced. The owner of American Smog told us to drive it for a while and then come back in a few days. When he rechecked the car, it passed, thanks to his help. And there were no additional charges. The new location on Inglewood Ave is easier to get to, and only 5-10 minutes north of the old location.

American Smog Check Center is one the easiest places I have done Smog Check throughout the years. The owner, Ali, is very friendly. The location is very clean and organized, and most importantly, he is very quick and gets the job done right away. The center is equipped with the new software and the info goes right away to DMV. Really nice guy. I came here instead of my usual spot because I was trying to get out of town and this shop was open earlier. Because my car had just been in the body shop, it failed the readiness check -- the owner explained what that meant, and how to reset it. I drove on the freeway for a bit, came back, and he checked the OBD before hooking it up for the retest -- just to make sure I was going to pass before officially counting for my retest.

No BS, they do smog checks.. simple.Like everyone says.. this place is next to the Car wash and in the Brake Centers... accessible from Inglewood ave or Manhattan beach ave.Ive taken my car here twice over the past two years for smog checks. The price is good.. There are only one or two guys working there, so you might want to check the wait before you go.There is no waiting room.. just a couple chairs.. so if it is hot, dont plan on hanging around. Instead, cross the street, walk one block west and have good inexpensive food at the Chicken maison!I will totally recommend this place to my friends & family!

Really quick smog check! I was in and out in 10 minutes on a Saturday afternoon! And it was cheaper than most places to boot! Most places have 1hr+ wait, but by the time I was settled in the waiting room and read a few pages of my book, my smog check was done. The owner was friendly and to the point. If you mention yelp, you get a discount, which makes this place one of the cheapest smog checks in the area. They also do oil changes, so I plan on checking them out in the future for that. I would highly recommend them for smog check!

I really lucked up going to this location. I’m upset that I forgot the name of the guy who helped me because he was awesome! I was in and out in less than 10mins for 40$.
