Stayed on Christmas, very nice room, good bed. Everything was clean smelled nice not to full of car. Will be back, dont know how much it was for 2 days because it was a Christmas gift from stepdaughter, for my husband and me 😊

My roommate was visiting her sister in Downey, and had gotten into a disagreement with her. At the same time she was having a medical issue. She checked into American Inn, and called me in Las Vegas. I drove from Las Vegas to Downey to bring her home. Her phone had run out of power, and her check out time was 11:00 am. My arrival time was about 2pm. The manager kept track of her luggage and ID, and has them for me when I arrived. They also helped me locate her. I cant thank them enough for doing that. They may very well have kept her from being harmed during this medical emergency.

Quiet, neat and clean. This is what I need when staying at a hotel or a motel and this place has it. Ive been staying here every couple of weeks for the past 1.5 + years and will keep on coming back here. Friendly staff, and the housekeeping service is well managed, this is why I tip my housekeeper at almost every checkout (unless I leave very early morning before she starts her shift).I have nothing negative to say about this business and the nice people working here.I will be staying there again next week. Close to Downey. Clean. Room did have faint smell. Got corner room u can hear traffic. I sleep through it all. Not a bother to me. Blanket low quality. Room nice has fridge and microwave. Iron. Hair dryer. For last minute great room reasonable price. Across from Chick Filet.Not great not bad. I would say 7 out 10.

Had been there before and the beds and pillows are work out. They don’t provide new toilet paper and they now require a CASH $50 deposit. I get a deposit, but who Has cash these days and they do have an ATM but not all of us use a debit card. Will not be back. I had been to this location a number of times but I don’t know if they have new management but it is going downhill. The gentleman in the morning asked if we were happy with our stay and was very pleasant but the older man at night was not. I would not waste my time coming here. Downey has a lot of other hotels that are much better.

Manager has no compassion I had booked on 11/12/2022 and to cancel on 11/14/2022. My mother had an accident and was unable to fly to Cali. to stay at this hotel. I tried canceling 48hrs prior he kept my 3 days 345.00 and would not would not refund my card. Even Expedia tried calling them. Bad choice dont book with them!!! Money hungry owner.

I have a client here so I visit a few times a year, stayed here once while I had work being done at my home. Rooms are modern, clean and great parking. Ive no complaints about mgmt or the condition of the location. Not just because I know the owners for years, but they take pride in their businesses. Now for me, I prefer my own bed than almost anywhere else but these are decent to sleep on.

Staff was unfriendly. Motel looks good in pictures but feels staged, its filled with cheap furniture and cleaned with a wet rag. The bed was terrible, there was no blanket, bed spread was dirty and smelly; also the bed squeaked at the slightest movent.Parking is great.

My stay was horrible!! The management was very unprofessional. I am disabled in a wheel chair. The front desk manager doesnt speak English fluently, quick to anger and treated me like I was a common criminal. I stayed one night and in the morning went to dump the trash before attempting to extend my stay for another day.. He and the cleaning lady came charging at me screaming and yelling, grab the trash bag from me,, inspected the contents and threw it in the trash. I let him know I wanted to extend my stay and he refused to take my money, he needed my ID and my mothers ID. He called my mother and told her to come and get your son. My mother convinced him to let me stay another day. When my mother came to check me out at 10am. the next day, he was waiting outside just leering at my mom. He inspected the room before I could get my deposit refunded. I asked him if I could return for another stay in future and he shook his head and threw up his hands. I have never been treated so horrible or made to feel unwanted at any motel/motel.

The interior looks newly remodeled. The rooms are clean with a fridge and microwave. The cable is good and has a guide which I like and an on demand feature so I can binge watch some shows. Priced well at $90 a night including taxes and $110 on the weekends. I wasn’t charged an incidental fee either which is nice since it usually takes a few days to get back to my account.On the down side there is an iron plate on Lakewood across the street and if you are a light sleeper the trucks going over it at night cause a noise that could disturb your sleep.The desk clerk ( the only one I’ve seen working in the week I’ve stayed here) helps me back my trailer in every night. He’s not much of a conversationalist but does his job. He walks the parking lot often and the lot has only one entrance so it’s somewhat safe.

The entire room was very clean and the room itself was nice and modern. Great customer service, they had complementary coffee. Very beautiful bathroom. Only thing was that there was a small odor coming from the restroom but other than that great experience, definitely coming back.

WOW! Was my response when I opened the door to the room. large, clean and modern new wood floors, freshly painted, newer furniture, and totally remodeled bathroom. When I pulled into the lot it was older building, but clean and well maintained. My room was backed up to the main road and no noise from street or adjoining rooms. I will definitely stay here again.

I would not stay here. I had Silverfish in the tub and sink, termites flying around the room, wood shavings on the floor by the door where the termites were at and when I tried to shower, the tub was so backed up the water was up to my ankles! Plus, the street its on is used as a drag strip all night! When I checked out, the lady asked me So there were no problems? I told her everything and she said, So there were no problems? Really!? 🤦 oh yea, and the picture of the vent covered in dust? Thats the AC vent that blows right over the bed, near the pillows.

Nice place and affordable price. Bed was comfortable and it had all the amenities we needed. Fridge and microwave, free WiFi. The only thing I would complain about is its by highway so you hear the traffic at night and early morning. Bring ear plugs.

Called twice to see if I can check in earlier than 3pm. After letting the phone ring 6 or 7 times twice, finally I got through. The owner I presumed answered. Extremely rude and hung up on me. I called again and was told what is wrong with you. I booked on trivago for 1 night. Never will I go here again. They did let me check in early ..but terrible customer service. Also noisy all day..like vacumming or machine humming constantly. This place is individually owned by probably an Indian family. Needs better communication skills and customer service skills. Cant tell if its clean or not. Looks like it but really cant tell. Small rooms. Musty smell. The 2 stars were for the bad customer service . Also I left earlier than planned and did not stay the night. Went to Hilton down the street . Its close to downtown Downey lots if shops and restaurants close by. If u dont mind being yelled at like you are in a 3rd world country then go ahead and stay. Other than that ..no real problems.

Customer service is horrible. I was trying to make a reservation and this man was being so rude explaining the prices. Asked if they do military discount and he basically yelled at me saying “NO DISCOUNTS NO DISCOUNTS!” They definitely need to work on how they talk to people. I recommend looking somewhere else.

This trip to LA from Phoenix, was last minute and just a weekend trip. This hotel, was so affordable through 3rd party websites like (Orbitz and Booking). American Inn Downey, was right off the highway from the (I-105, I-435, and Santa Monica Freeway). Management, was very comparable to what we wanted and we always want extra towels. This hotel, is good if you need somewhere to crash for a couple days, not a hotel with breakfast, etc. Very close to Downey shopping areas, (Walmart and more). I would highly recommend staying here! All upgraded as well..

Good place, 99usd per day for a single room, it is expensive, but almost all of California has that rate, the place is very nice, very elegant rooms, excellent bathroom, very comfortable bed and very good TV, USB charger. The bad thing is that they do not have breakfast included like others, but it is still worth booking at this hotel since if you come for a walk there are several attractions nearby and it is surely worth spending a day or two here. It is required to bring cash to pay a deposit of 40usd, a bit high but not that bad either. Check the photos, they do correspond to reality, those on the website as well as those of the users.
