We were living in Ukraine for the past 5 years, and suddenly, we found ourselves in the midst of a war. Due to the war, we couldn’t continue my spouse’s Green Card application because our baby was born during the conflict, and the baby entered Europe without any identification or passport, which put us in a very difficult situation. We couldn’t obtain the baby’s birth certificate from Ukraine for a long time, so we spent a considerable amount of time in Europe. Currently, the baby is an American citizen.As soon as the baby’s process was completed, we continued with my spouse’s Green Card application. However, the process was very slow, and we made a few mistakes. I approached Alcorn over 3 years ago to help me put together evidence for an EB-1 greencard application. Through the process, Alcorn helped me with what type of evidence I will need to accumulate. They helped me transfer my H1B to a new employer.They were responsive but I think the process could have been a bit faster.Sharing the list of documents and giving access to the online questionnaire in advance would have been better from the very beginning, especially since you requested translations for my degree which you didnt provide. I already had that because of a previous employer, but if I didnt, then I would have needed to get them which would have impacted on the time taken to submit my application, pushing my start date.Im not sure if something could have been done in regards of filing the LCA earlier since it takes 10 days to get a response and that was a step before filing the H1B petition.Overall it was a good experience and Im happy everything went well and I can start on my new job.

My wife needed to apply for a green card through marriage, and we worked with Cori after our initial consultation call with Anita. This is a team that is extremely well prepared and knowledgeable, and I truly believe worth the expense. They approached our case by making sure we left no stone unturned when it came documentation preparation (such as retrieving passports from 10 years ago), preparing us for the worst case scenario for the interview, and making us aware of the possible timeline range to expect the EAD (employment authorization doc), the travel document, and the interview itself (due to COVID, they explained that a lot of these could be delayed). My (start-up) company has used Alcorn to manage H1-B and green card applications.Immigration law doesnt leave any room for mistakes, and Alcorn doesnt seem to fully realize that. Immigration to the US is stressful as is, having to deal with flaky legal representation doesnt help.* poor communication: the entire process I felt in the dark on what was happening and had to ask (and know what to ask) to get any information. I learnt more from random googled blogs than from them.* poor internal management: a case was collecting dust / forgotten for several months and we had to inquire to find out what was happening with it. A paralegal presided over the case rather than an immigration attorney.* poor application: a 2 year green card process became a 4 year process after the above and poor wording that caused the entire case to have to be resubmitted to include different wording.They do seem to care a lot about their marketing emails and podcasts and whatnot. Better pour that energy in the cases.

A couple of my friends have tried applying for multiple visas from L1 to O1 and trust me they are amazing sales people, but when it comes to real execution, you can expect anything from not filing documents by the timeline to incorrect or non-comprehensive filing. They are highly UNPROFESSIONAL in terms of inexplicable delays in actual filings, and rejection rates are also significantly high. They will promise you that they will create a case for you, but after deposit they will come and tell you that its too difficult to build a case and those deposits are non-refundable. Furthermore, they are one of the companies that will charge the highest and deliver the lowest. They are highly available till the time you pay the bill and after that they rarely even reply to your queries.One firm that I highly recommend is legalpad who some of my friends have opted for after get conned by alcorn. Do try them.

We engaged Alcorn to assist us in obtaining our US Citizenship after living in the United States for seven years as Permanent Residents (Green card holders). We met the criteria in all respects, however, our case was a little complicated as we had some international travel commitments that arose during the process. Sophie and her colleagues from Alcorn Immigration did a really great job. My visa was revoked due to a bureaucratic mistake; I applied for a new one, waited for 4 weeks but didn’t get any solution from American Consulate. Then I sought for a professional legal assistance and Alcorn was definitely the best choice. It took them less than two month to prepare all necessary documents for my case and sent them to relevant government institutions. I forgot to mention: I’m a citizen of Russia; I got my visa revoked when I was in Chiang Mai, Thailand; and I applied for a new visa in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. So Alcorn went extra mile dealing with American consulates throughout South-East Asia. As a result, in two months I got invitation for interview at the Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City (where I was at that time), and in three days after the interview had happened I got a new visa, yay. Very good experience with the Alcorn Immigration Law team. I was applying for a NIW green card program and they definitely help me a lot, formatting the documents, preparing the petition, etc... Without them, in this particular challenging time, sure that the result would have been different, btw I have been approved. So I recommend this law firm, they work great for you. Honestly I cannot make any feedback about the cost as I did not check the prices elsewhere but it seems to me that they are not earning on clients back. For example, when I came with already some draft documents prepared, they offered me a discount !! I am pretty sure that not all law firm is doing it !!

Would not recommend.Edit to add:Since the owner responded without addressing my concerns at all, I should mention that within the consultation (which was cut short significantly due to both their lateness and ending early for no apparent reason), I was told that I may have my green card revoked if I did not hire them. Not only is this entirely WRONG information, but it is unethical to use that kind of manipulation to acquire business. Especially when you charge almost 5 times more than every other immigration lawyer I’ve consulted.
