Albertsons has everything you need! I come here every day for my groceries. The meat department is extensive with low costs. I buy fresh meat for my dog daily and have developed a great report with them. They will happily cut your bones or even save trimmings for latter. A great experience all around

I also bought some cottage cheese there too. I wish that Albertsons stayed open as late as it used to. But I do understand that its located in downtown San Diego.

I really hate having to post this because I really do love shopping at Albertsons, but this particular locations night shift are constantly giving me problems & I keep trying to ignore it but last night it was 3 employees that were being childish. When I first came in off the elevator the black lady thats a cashier there, looked dead at me, nudged another co-worker named Fran, and said eww in disgust. I ignored and went on with my shopping. I then noticed Fran (the one thats always arguing with all the customers during her shifts), she was following me around the store dodging and hiding in the aisles. She looked like she just got off work or might have been off because she was in her street clothes. She was following me around pretending to look at items on the shelf. And when I walked away from my cart to grab something. She darted off with my full cart and gave it to some young employee named Isaiah to put back on the shelves and then ran off. I was almost done shopping when this happened. My cart was full and now I had 20 minutes to closing to try and remember everything I had in my cart and grab them again. When I asked the security guard there, he just smiled & ignored me. I finally found Isaiah with my original cart and told him that it was my cart, and he just smiled and kept putting away my things instead of giving me the cart back! Childish games. For what? When I asked the black lady for the hispanic ladys name, she cut me off & said nope, I dont know! But I came back the next day & got her name (Fran). Then at the end of my transaction she says that looks like the same stuff we just put away right now. How would she know that when shes been on the register busy the entire time? And why was somebody that wasnt even on shift, taking my cart away? I think we need secret shoppers at this location at night, so that the higher ups can see the way they all conduct themselves at night at this location. Again I apologize because outside of this Market Street location, I am an avid Albertsons shopper.

Albertsons has a pharmacy. Sav-on pharmacy. They have been great, the rest of my experience shopping there, I cant say the same. If you do not download their app, you cant use the internet, and my phone wont even make calls. I have anxiety. There have been many times when calling my husband has calmed me down enough to prevent an anxiety attack. Plus, if I forget the list, Ill call him and ask him. But here, I cant. Super frustrating and upsetting. I shouldnt have to download an app to use my phone inside the grocery store. One star says I hate the store. Two say I dislike it. I really dislike a lot of the things the store does, pharmacy excluded. The pharmacy is why I dont outright hate the store. Believe me, no one wants to have a panic attack inside of any store, especially if it could be prevented.

Have been shopping at this location for over 10 years now. It just keeps getting better and better. Wonderful employees. Very helpful. Security guards even help people reach things on shelves for people. Management is wonderful. Well stocked. Great sale prices. I highly recommend using the Albertsons app. The loyalty points are awesome. For $12.99 you cant go wrong. You must try the ready meals in deli. The employees go out of their way to help customers. Under ground parking. In store Starbucks is a plus! Money orders available. Other great services. The $5.00 Friday specials are awesome. The self checkout is also great to use . Their prices are very good, shop by sales etc. Enjoy your shopping at this friendly location. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟😇💐🍾❤️. Employees are always available to help customers find what they trying to locate ! Thank you team Albertsons for many years of quality everything! 🏆. They are doing their best to take care of the homeless situation.

New review today 6-14-24 Friday, still the worst shopping experience, I went there for a few items that included vitamins, ofcourse they were locked 🔐up. The gentleman that assisted me did not speak English or Spanish!!! He gave me a device for me to type the name of the item in. Was very difficult to get him to understand that I needed Fiber Gummy’s.. He didn’t have a clue.. I found them, but was not able to communicate with him to ask questions..All he could say was “Aisle One” they were placed in aisle one for checkout. That cashier was having a verbal fight at that exact time with a regular customer and needed a manager to solve the issue that WAS the cashier’s fault. No apologies to the customer, that was clearly in the right. The manager corrected the cashier.. The eight or more security guards are not friendly either and treat “Everyone” as a suspect the moment you walk through the doors …Terrible way to treat local neighbors 📣…Updated 10-15-23..Went in to pick up one item..a can of shaving cream. It’s now locked up and I had to wait in line for someone to assist me and then I waited in another long line to checkout.. . They would not let me or assist me to self check out one item..it took 30 minutes to buy one can of shaving cream 🤯I will buy this on Amazon Prime from now on ….Updated: 9-15-23 This store has gone further downhill since the last time I was here!!! It definitely feels like a Swat Team is doing security and is suspicious of everyone..I had someone follow me and watch me while I was looking at Chicken. All the employees seem to be rude for some reason ..Message to the store manager >>>New employee named “April” is not ready to be a Cashier✍️ 😮…Previous comments: …..Previous Review >>>This is a grocery store in the East Village area of Downtown San Diego. It has pretty much what you would expect from an Albertsons. This store has an unhappy security guard shooing away the homeless/mentally ill people. This store has some very HIGH prices. If you live in the neighborhood, you will shop there out of necessity... Previous UPDATE they have the worst Deli Department, I have ever seen. The deli area is unorganized and borderline filthy. Never seems to be a manager around to step it up. They all should be Re-trained. They all pretend not to look up and see if you need help ( check the cameras ) Terrible way to operate a delicatessen and display food. No customer service as well!

Sunday morning, 7:50am, Ive seen this lady manning the self-serve before; she gives dirty looks, and if you need help, she avoids eye contact, then seems upset when you ask for help. I asked to help me with paying cash, and she spoke to me in a very stern voice. Fortunately, I was able to get out of there when she gave me a new bill, but she gave me such a dirty look when I left.I just dont understand how service people that are that angry work at Albertsons, and then treat me like Im dirt. She really ruined the start of my Sunday.I highly suggest more training in customer service or getting rid of bad employees with bad attitudes. It really sets a negative and hostile vibe.Next time, I will go to Ralphs by 1st street instead. At least they say hello and our nice to me there.

I have been to this grocery store many times. It’s nice bc it’s downtown but the employees here lack the customer service other store have. There are almost never baskets or carts available and it takes forever to checkout. They have most everything you need in a store but I often times will drive out of my way to go somewhere else if I have the time.

Albertsons in downtown San Diego shopping experience has gone to hell. They now have security gates to get in and out, which would be fine, except on top of that, a bunch of items are now behind security glass and you have to push a bell, to get a clerk to open case and then they take it to specific check out stand, instead of giving the item to you. That means if you dont first run around the store and find all the items you can put in your cart yourself first and then call someone for the other items, you will be going through the line, repeatedly on each visit. It is a horror.

Suffering from bad company culture. Slowly, this store has turned into a war zone of the store versus the homeless. What has fallen to the wayside is customer service. 10 PM and the lines for two registers are down the aisle. Customers are pissed, some even talking about stealing the one item they are there to buy; self checkout closed. My line finally moves after the checkout girl decides to stop talking to the customer whose payment method must have failed as she waves him away with her hand, time to go. Another 5 minutes pass and I am at the register. The cashier is dressed just like a homeless person, sans a nametag, at least the clothes look clean. I am babe - she calls everyone babe; the octogenarian in front of me is babe, women, and me. I am not her babe, bae or anything else, Albertsons. That and her tone needs serious manager attention. But, I think she might be the night manager as the security guard, the bag girl all asked her questions. And there you have the reason for your war. Management focused on the wrong metrics. Its well known, have great employees that value their workplace and, boom, lower crime. And she huffed and puffed, as if what was in front of her was some burden, just as she did with every customer. Am I not her paycheck? 12 min in line, the other checkout girl moved only two customer through her line which was equally long. If you dont care about your store enough, Albertsons, to hire employees that care. The barriers and bars will not work when you just have employees that dont care. If you kept the sidewalk in front of the store clear of beggars and sleeping homeless - walking pedestrians only - that would probably help more than more bars.**** Updated ***Even before seeing Albertsons reply to my comments I noticed the staff working that night expressed a remarkable transformation in attitude and manners. Good work and a huge attaboy to management there. Yet, I am not letting you off the hook that easy. The fact remains we got it to that place somehow. It’s a we effort, customer feedback + store management and employees. The last part of my statement delt with the homeless harassing you as you went into the store. I know that is not all you. But sincerely the city owes you more patrols and presence by the blue and black patrols. From the corner of Imperial and 14th where they smoking crack to ur store it’s the same people. With some of these new homeless laws maybe it’s not just shoplifting. A case could be made with the neighbors, businesss and their street record that there is an acting out that cries for mental healthcare and case of inhumane treatment as father joes will not take drugs addicts. Between the theft, vandalism, trash and everything else as a group that might elevate the charges. But it’s always about helping people.
