Great Experience. Empathetic team. Chianti on the front desk was caring and efficient. Very comforting to me when you are concerned about sudden vision issues. Dr Liu was terrific. The office and waiting area were pleasant and very clean. I would highly recommend!

Dr. Liu was absolutely amazing and her staff very nice. They saw me on short notice when I had an issue with my eyelids swelling. The treatment she prescribed has worked amazingly and Im confident my continued treatment she is planning will make it so the issue never returns.

Absolutely the best eye doctor appointment I have ever experienced! From booking my appointment to my actual appointment! Staff was friendly and welcoming. I felt extremely comfortable the entire visit. Dr. Lui and her staff are amazing! The office throughout was clean and give a spa like feel! Very zen environment!Dr. Lui was on time with my appointment and explained everything to me. I left feeling that I mattered!Parking can be hard if you don’t give yourself enough time to find a decent parking spot but I arrived 20 minutes before my appointment and was able to find parking right across the street!Highly recommended Alameda Eye Center!

Very good experience. Everything I needed was handled very well and Dr. Liu takes the time to answer all my questions.I saw Dr. Liu for the first time in a large medical center. Later when she started her own business I decided without hesitation to follow her. Large medical centers feel like they have more administrative personal than medical personal.

My husban, Louis Rocca had cataract surgery on both of his eyes. Dr. Liu was very professional. The surgery was very successful and with hisr office visits after. she was vert thorough, explained everything to him and was very patient. He wants any of his friends that might have to have cataract surgery to know that he recommends Dr. Liu in a heartbeat.

Dr Liu has been a great help to both my wife and myself. She takes the time to listen and do a thorough exam. And then set up or do what it takes to get the best result. She will be our Go/To for optomological issues. I highly recommend her if you have any eye related issues to deal with. Either long or short term.She also has a great staff backing her up. Im not the most descriptive person but my overall take is that she is the type of doctor you saw in tv shows as a kid but rarely see in real life.

Doctor Liu was wonderful and she was very knowledgeable. I was worried about my vision on my left eye and she ran several tests and everything went smoothly. I was able to find out what was wrong with my left eye and felt a great sense of relief. She even showed me pictures of my eye and explained what was wrong. She has a calming voice and was very gentle when applying eye drops and when she did all her tests on my eyes. I definitely recommend her.

I arrived 10 minutes early and Kellie, the receptionist, checked me in and within minutes a technician escorted me into a room with very state of the art examination equipment and several images of my eyes were captured to compare with previous images. I then moved to an exam room where Dr. Liu reviewed the images, dilated my eyes and did a thorough exam. She explained every step of the results and changes to my vision. I felt very comfortable with her diagnosis and how it would be corrected with a prescription by my optometrist.

Im incredibly impressed with the service I received at Alameda Eye Center. Both Kelly and Dr. Liu are incredibly kind and attentive. Kelly went out of her way to get me in quickly, and help out when I had difficulty accessing and completing documents. I also observed her interaction with another customer, in which she was very patient, helpful, and considerate.Dr. Liu took the time to understand the reason for my visit, as well as explain both the procedure and possible treatments. You can tell she genuinely cares about her patients and their health. She also provided recommendations for over-the-counter products and self-care. She was very thorough and thoughtful. This is AB-SO-LUTE-LY GREAT!!! Dr. Liu did a great job on my eye. The operation was a total success, I can see now better and with more clarity than I believe I did before I got cataracts. The whole facility is all state of the art modern equipment. The staff are all friendly, very helpful, answer all your questions, ut you at ease. My whole experience was the best I have ever had in all my life with any doctor in any profession. Im telling you now, I was a little hesitant about the surgery. It is, after all, surgery, but let me tell you, everything went fantastic. I cannot praise Dr. Liu, and Alameda Eye Center enough.HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended!!!! This practice deserves every bit of the 5 stars they’ve received from all of its patients, including myself.TL;DR: got pinkeye on a Monday which progressively worsened (pain, liquid sac, itching) throughout the week. After a couple Carbon visits, I was recommended to see an ophthalmologist.Dr Liu and Kelly got me in same day (even got me in same day the next day) for urgent care. Dr Liu was able to resolve the situation by diagnosing correctly and providing the medication and procedures needed.Note: I had just changed insurance 2 weeks prior (HMO) which not only requires a referral but also a request for authorization approval from insurance. They not only helped me get a retro auth but also submitted the claim on my behalf to insurance.Everything about Dr Liu’s practice screams professionalism with the utmost care for the patient. They have won a loyal customer.

I had to see an ophthalmologist on an emergency basis, and Kellie was able to work with Dr. Liu to let me be seen that same day. Other ophthalmologist offices did not try at all, and simply said that they are fully booked for weeks.The office for Alameda Eye Center looks new and clean, and street parking is not too hard to find nearby.

I saw Dr. Liu for the first time yesterday. It was an excellent experience all the way around. Easy to schedule and Kellie at the front desk was terrific. Most importantly, Dr. Liu recommended an easy, inexpensive home treatment for my dry eye. The ophthalmologist I saw 2 years ago could have done the same, but she gave me a prescription that cost over $100 with an alternative option of plugging my tear ducts! After the prescription ran out I did not renew and switched to over the counter eye drops. Two years I missed of using a healthy remedy.

Dr. Liu is amazing at her job! I had severe cataracts in one of my eyes and my HMO insurance couldn’t get me in for months. I called Dr. Liu’s office and they got me in right away for a consultation. Her front desk is so friendly and answered all of my questions with poise. I was scheduled for my surgery within weeks after the initial visit. I had a lot of questions and was very nervous about everything and Dr. Liu took her time and addressed all of my concerns. The day of the surgery was a breeze and my eye is 100% better. She is the best eye doctor I have ever been to! I highly recommend to anyone to go see her. Her expertise and experience are worth the drive as I came from Yuba City to see her. This was the most thorough eye exam I’ve ever had. Dr. Liu took the time to not only perform a comprehensive exam but to explain in detail the results. She is extremely knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge.She’s also patient. A few weeks earlier I brought my young son in for an exam. Children can be difficult but Dr. Liu rolled with the punches, gently coaxing him into each procedure. He came away smiling.The office staff also makes everything easy. Highly recommended.

I took my mom here for a eye check up since her vision has been blurry. Dr. Liu was very helpful in determining what was wrong and finding a solution. She recommended a surgery for cataracts but also set us up with a temporary prescription for glasses and a website that offers discounted glasses to help in the meantime. First time visiting this office. The location is convenient and the office is immaculate. The doctor was very thorough with the examination, patient with me, and she took the time to address my questions at the end. Moreover, the doctor followed up via text with recs for lasik centers as well as recommended over the counter brands for my eye problem. The only area for improvement would be the wait time (~30 mins), which is not uncommon in healthcare but still... I would call in advance to ensure that everything’s on schedule. But definitely worth the wait in the end.

Due to suffering a number of chronic eye conditions, I have seen several ophthalmologists over the years, and I found Dr. Liu to be one of the most thorough, knowledgeable, and caring physicians I have ever had. The office is conveniently located in downtown Alameda and is well-equipped with modern technology. Dr. Liu took her time to give me a thorough examination, review each of my concerns in detail, and clearly and thoughtfully explain the recommended treatments.For my chronic dry eyes, she gave me a comprehensive treatment plan including moisture goggles, a humidifier, and a new medication which have made a huge difference in my comfort. In addition, based on the results of the assessment she recommended a glaucoma specialist and provided me with a printout which enabled me to have a productive conversation with that specialist.Dr. Liu clearly has outstanding knowledge of her field as well as a true commitment to caring for her patients. I completely trust her to take care of my eyes from now on. If you want an excellent eye doctor, Alameda Eye Center will definitely not disappoint you.

While traveling on the other side of the country on a multi-state National Parks camping trip, I suffered some serious eye irritation related to a scratched cornea I suffered prior to my trip. I saw an eye doctor in Washington state who connected me to Dr. Liu for a follow-up eye exam. My initial treatment in Washington hadn’t taken care of the problem. Dr. Liu fit me into her schedule on short notice, and she spent more than an hour with me, conducted a very thorough exam of my eyes, identified what she believed to be the issue, and explained the issue and treatment strategy to me clearly. She checked multiple times to make sure any questions I had were answered. Additionally, she’ll see me for a follow-up before I fly home and has already contacted a doctor back home who will see me when I get back. I’ve worn glasses and/or contact lenses for about 30 years, and my appointment with Dr. Liu was by far the most positive experience with an eye doctor that I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

I moved from Honolulu to Oakland in March 2020 to help take care of my Mom.My right eye was injured by a tennis ball in the early 1980s, tearing my iris. I’ve been seeing opthalmologists since then to monitor the pressure in that eye. Because I hadn’t had it checked since leaving Honolulu, I thought it was time to find a good opthamologist locally. After a lengthy search, I decided to see Dr. Abby Liu at the Alameda Eye Center. Her assistant Melany was very helpful preparing me for my visit.Dr. Liu greeted me when I entered her nicely decorated, sunny and safe office near Central & Park. She’s a very nice person, and also a good, thorough, patient opthamologist, checking & testing more than my Honolulu opthamologist had, and identifying a few things he might have missed.I feel reassured that my eyes have been examined thoroughly and well, that they’re in good shape, and that one issue that was identified will be followed up on and treated, if necessary.Seeing any doctor for the first time can be a little uncomfortable and uncertain. Happily, I found Dr. Abby (and Melany) to be great!
